We called Molitor Electric for the first time a year ago, after enduring several years of lights flickering, breaker switches going off at bad times (when is there a good time?) and network losing connection. Dan Molitor diagnosed the fairly extensive problems, including the fact that our electricity was fluctuating on and off. That's why my ovens (microwave as well as stove) took so much longer to cook everything than they should have. Dan and his team handled everything, diligently and efficiently. And when a city employee caused a delay, which resulted in a power outage for hours, Claudia came over with stick-on lights and a cell-phone battery, and reassurance.They are all such nice people! So two weeks ago, when I was tired of getting a shock from a light switch in the carport, I got Dan to come again. That wasn't a simple problem either. He had to break through some HardiPlank that was installed by a home "improvement" company - which I will review harshly elsewhere - and correct faulty wiring that substandard contractors had done in 2015. I also had a new light installed over the front entrance to shine on the address. That took some creative design/ engineering. Dan wouldn't quit until I was satisfied. He and his whole team work so hard, evenings, weekends, all the time! And probably haven't charged nearly as much as they are worth. read more

I've used this company for several projects over the years and have always been super satisfied with the outcome and utmost level of care and detail. Most recently Dan came out to help get my house "back online" after a lightning strike. He stayed until way after dark rebuilding and updating my system to make sure I would have power. Dan works 7 days per week, 9AM to 6PM and has the 4 things you want to ask EVERY CONTRACTOR for; 1.) liability insurance in case something unforseen happens, 2.) is a Licensed Electrician (State Lic. #17722), 3.) terriffic work references, 4.) excellent communcation skills. Dan worked on several projects at my house on several different occasions. He has installing recessed canned floods in my kitchen, living and family rooms. He excels in lighting design & layout - both interior and exterior. His work to date has been flawless and he has GREAT creative ideas for lighting design (both interior and exterior) he can provide when asked and does so without being pushy. Dan can be a bit on the softspoken side (which I prefer), but he is very free with his ideas if you are open to them. He also can provide some options of things you can do yourself in order to help you meet your project's budget. I could probably find a cheaper electrician, but isn't the point is to find someone you can trust and who does what he says he is going to do and does it when he says he is going to do it. Molitor responded promptly to my email asking for a quote to add a new outlet and fish some wires for a wall mounted TV. Many people seem to love calling businesses, but I hate it, so I am always thrilled when someone will communicate via email. Dan came out to do the quote, and explained throughly what would be done. The price was the lowest of the quotes I'd received. I gave Dan a few dates that would work for me, and he was able to make the first available date work. Mike came out to do the actual work, and it went very smoothly. He explained everything he was going to do, and offered several helpful suggestions throughout the process. My wife and I own The Studio Kitchen in Round Rock and when we first built our commercial kitchen in 2004 Dan did all the electrical work. Since purchasing my home earlier this year, I've needed a variety of services performed, ranging from plumbing work to electrical. As anyone who's owned a home before knows, finding a good servicing company isn't always easy and can sometimes take a few trials and tribulations. Sometimes though you get lucky and you stumble across a gem right off the bat. In my case, the gem was Molitor Electric. So far, Dan with Molitor has upgraded both house electrical panels, installed a few standard electrical outlets and even ran the wiring and installed two high powered outlets for two vehicle charging stations. At one point during his installation of the electrical panels I asked about the durability and quality of the panels with regards to overall cost. Dan responded by saying that he only used the best of the best for his customers and even though it might mean a high upfront cost, at the end of the install I would have the best panels on the market. As someone who grew up with a father who ran his own construction business for over 20 years with the ideology of perfection and quality of work, this mentality holds a lot of deep meaning and value to me. Dan's work is immaculate, detailed and professional. In the case of using an electrician, what you pay for is what you get. Dan and crew came out and undid some of the terrible (and unsafe) work done by previous workers, and helped us rest easy knowing that the problem was finally fixed. We had been living with problems for a year, and he spotted them, fixed them, and fast. Knowing we had dangerous conditions he rearranged his schedule to get the work done right away, and he and his colleague were not only thorough, communicative, and fast, but they were also really nice. If I had to spend the day at home having electric work done, without electricity or a/c, I'm glad I got to do it with such nice guys. They were even really nice to our dogs. Sent email with pictures to request an estimate on installing a pendant light fixture over a kitchen sink and whole-house surge protector. Had to wait several days for a reply, since they are busy. Got an estimate from Dan and it came in at the same level as another estimate received (from an even busier electrician who couldn't get around to the work for a couple of weeks.) Set up a time and Dan's assistant Mike and a helper showed up on the appointed morning and were able to install the light without having to open up the ceiling, saving a drywall repair job. They were neat and professional, used a drop cloth and cleaned up the site afterward. During the surge protector install Mike found a loose nut on a breaker and geckos inside the breaker box. He cleaned it up and sealed a hole in the box to keep out the wildlife. The new light looks and works great. I really appreciate the attention to detail, and kudos to Mike for finding and fixing the issues in the main breaker box. Excellent experience and highly recommended. read more

I've had two jobs done by Molitor electric. The first was that we were dividing a room into two offices, and wanted to run a new 20A circuit and put in some new boxes. Dan coordinated well with our contractor who was doing the wall. Even though Dan isn't a networking person, he was even willing to put in boxes and run Ethernet cables for me to finish up the ends. The project finished on time, under what I had budgeted, and work was superb. The second job was done by Dan's helper. The recessed can fixtures in our kitchen were eating light bulbs. A couple years ago we paid another electrician nearly $1000 for a job that wasn't done right. Molitor Elec found a bunch of problems: bad wiring, wrong cans used. I hated to replace the cans because we'd just paid to do that a couple years back, and they were willing to work with me on some cheaper alternatives. In end, though, I decided to do it right and replace the whole blasted thing. Once again, the project was on time, under budget, and work was superb. It cost me less to have Molitor Elec. do it right with good quality components, than the other guy to do it wrong with crappy equipment. read more

We called the week of October 25 and booked an appointment for the 31st. On the day of the appointment, they called to say that they will be later than the confirmed appointment time. They then called back again to say that we need to move the appointment to another day. Now, one day later, we have called them repeatedly to reschedule, but they have not responded yet. We are extremely disappointed and should have gone with someone else from the get go. UPDATE: The company did end up getting back to us in order to complete the project and called afterward it was completed in order to apologize for a communication issue on their end. read more

We had Dan Molitor do some work for us many years ago, and it was promptly and professionally done. Then we moved and had other electricians do work at our new house (since I worked for the company). When we returned to our old neighborhood we called on Dan again to handle some issues I suspected we had due to aluminum wiring. Although we had to wait a little, as they are always busy, Dan fit us in sooner than our appointment because of some deadlines we had with other contractors. He handled the issues, and then came again when he said he would, which was a Saturday and a Sunday, to complete what we needed. Boy, are we glad he did! He found some very dangerous connections and handled the aluminum connections so that the switches and outlets are now safe.
