They upgraded our breaker box and relocated the main electrical line to the house--no small job--but they handled it with total professionalism and skill. One thing I really appreciated was how they took the time to educate me along the way. I never felt out of the loop--they explained what was happening, why it mattered, and made sure I understood each step. That kind of transparency and care is rare and truly appreciated. They also dealt directly with the power company and kept the project moving on track with great communication. Matt and his team are not only knowledgeable and reliable, but also just genuinely nice people. Can't say enough good things about them. Highly recommend!

Okay, so I'm one of those people who can't sleep without cold moving air and/or a low humming…read morenoise. Unfortunately, the pull chain on my ceiling fan broke and there was no way to turn the fan on without replacing the entire pull chain mechanism. The electrician I used to use retired, so it was time to find someone new. I'd already waited three days to call someone and I wasn't sleeping well, so I looked on Craigslist. I sent four emails and one responded within about 5 minutes: Augie Lopez with ITNJ Electric. We agreed on a price before he arrived. Now, it's a holiday (President's Day). Augie lives in Taylor but he was Georgetown when he called me back. I live in South Austin, but it's 8am and he says he can help me today! Imagine my excitement . . . I'm going to sleep well tonight! I remembered I had a dental appointment at 11, so Augie says he'll just come down now and do the job. He was here by 9. It's cold and wet outside, but he did all the stuff that makes you appreciate good service. He put booties on over his shoes and he wrapped and taped booties to the bottom of his ladder. The last time the pull chain part got changed (over 10 yrs ago) I did it myself. I thought it was going to be a simple job, but it took me two hours and when I finished everything worked, but the order of the clicks was wrong (High, then Low, then Medium, then Off. Really, I was just glad it worked). I mentioned this to Augie and told him it was okay in that order, I just wanted the fan to run. Well, 30 minutes later he's replaced the part, offered a suggestion that I pull the chain at a slight angle instead of straight down to help avoid a break in the future . . . AND he's fixed the order of the clicks. I feel like I got a bonus for free! Augie will be my new go-to electrician. He's fully licensed so maybe now I can get some of those bigger jobs done (the ones I've been putting off because they were for convenience only). And best of all, he's super nice.

Chadwick showed up on time in very nasty weather to work on our doorbell. The last electricians…read morethat didn't fix it, (referred from the home warranty company), said "the transformer was bad." Chadwick looked at it and we both looked all over for the transformer and could not find it. I don't think the last guys did either and neither did Chadwick. He showed me where the line was cut to the doorbell and how the copper was old and oxidized. He installed a new transformer using existing wiring and made it work. I was very happy to get that fixed and will hire him to set up the lights for the front of our house. 4/7/2014 Addendum: Due to my previous 5-star rating and good experience with Elite Electric I was going to have Chadwick put in some landscape lighting at our house. I made an appointment after the last visit (and the review above) and he didn't show up, didn't call. That was January. Then I rescheduled, took off work to meet him, time came, no electrician. I texted him and then called him and he called me back and said I was on the schedule, but he had forgotten. I asked if he could still make it out, and he said he would try. He called me two hours later at 5:00 to say no he couldn't after all. I was pretty unhappy and will be going with someone else for my lighting. He is a nice guy and knows what he is doing when he does come out, but the last two experiences are going to have me going somewhere else.

I've used Ben at Taymar Electric as my go-to electrician for years and have always recommended him…read moreto others for being reliable, fair, and professional. Unfortunately, this recent experience completely changed that opinion. I reached out to Ben several months ago about installing a car charger. He originally quoted me a fair price and has always been great to work with, so I followed up recently to move forward. We confirmed the charger details, price, the location, and scheduled a specific date and time, but he never showed up, never called, and never texted. I reached out on the scheduled day about an hour after the scheduled window asking for an updated ETA (since I understand things happen) but got no reply. I called another hour after, no answer. I waited a day and called again to see if we could reschedule, still no response. I left a voicemail and waited another day before trying again. Same result. Eventually, I had a friend call him from their number, and he picked up almost immediately. I sent another text asking for either an update or to let me know if he was no longer available for the project so I could explore other options. Still no response. Called the main number again, nothing. It wasn't until I called his cell, which went unanswered, that I received a vague text apologizing for any "delay this has caused" and saying he'd follow up the next day for my "repair". He never did. It's frustrating because I've trusted Ben with every electrical project in my home for years and always spoke highly of him. This time, though, the lack of communication and accountability really soured that trust. It's unprofessional to ghost a long-time customer and then send a generic, poorly written, excuse message days later. Sadly, I can't confidently recommend him anymore which is disappointing because I genuinely liked working with him.

I hired Cool Ray Electric to install a NEMA plug for my EV at my home in Liberty Hill. I chose them…read morebecause they are locally owned and have great reviews. The installation took place on June 30, but there were several issues. The technician forgot materials and had to leave and return, and the outlet wasn't installed where I requested. He also cut a hole in the drywall in the wrong spot, which left damage that wasn't repaired. I paid for the installation plus the permit and inspection fee. After the installation, I had to make several follow-up calls over the next two months about the permit and inspection date. The inspection did eventually pass, but I never received confirmation that the permit had been filed until I asked multiple times. After the inspection, I did not receive any follow-up from the owners regarding the drywall repair, even though Marty mentioned he knew someone who could fix it. The electrical work itself functions correctly, but the communication, delays, and unresolved damage made the experience less smooth than I expected based on their reviews.

Even after unplugging the dryer, I was worried about a possible fire behind the wall, so I had the Cedar Park firefighters come and check out the situation. The plug and wall plate were insanely hot. They tripped the breaker and used a meter to see if there was a heat signature behind the wall, but things would be okay. James arrived today and checked out every possible source from the breaker box to the wiring behind the wall. He replaced the outlet and plug, and fixed some wall wiring. He checked my dryer for damage, but I was lucky. James was so thorough in going through each possibility for problems. He explained what he found and didn't. I can highly recommend James!
