Malco Electric provides outstanding service at a reasonable price. They scheduled my HOA parking lights request within several days. After replacing the lights, I was told what wattage that the lights were set. It was more of a warm light setting, I had the installer increase it to a bright light setting. This was more appropriate for a parking lot lights! Very happy that I was informed about the settings! read more

I have had excellent experiences with Malco Electric on three different occasions for my house in Caliterra. The first bit of work was to extend electrical conduit on the patio needed for a nice BBQ/outdoor kitchen appliance. I'm really picky about how things look, and they ran the conduit perfectly, straight and level and did an expert job attaching it to the brick. My second experience was to add a whole house protection circuit on my main panel (I think new houses require that now, but it wasn't at the time my house was built). I also needed an outlet relocated to the proper breaker, since the house builder did something dumb - the guys at Malco fixed that really easily. This past week, I've been upgrading my kitchen for new appliances, and needed to convert a 120V 20A to a 240V 15A, which just needed a new breaker in the sub panel and outlet. The initial quote seemed reasonable, but what really made me impressed with the company is after the work was done, they told me the job was easier than the quote and the price came in a lot less! When does that ever happen with a contractor? I just thought that showed integrity and you can tell Malco wants your return business. Super happy with the service! read more

I contacted Malco Electric for an outlet installation. I'm a return customer having used their services to install a light and dimmer last year. I am extremely pleased with their work. Both times they explained what they were doing and what to do if I encountered any issues. They were professional, timely, and very friendly. I will continue to contact Malco for future projects. read more

The main panel for my rental home was on the fritz. AC and water heater worked, but outlets in the house did not. I called several electricians, some said they don't do same day, some said they wanted pictures, and a few would come out. The first one that came wanted to replace the whole panel, said it was corroded and over heating ...$5K. Then Malco came to look at it. It was a faulty breaker, and the buzz bar and all the main components of the panel were fine, $250. The third guy was too late. I see this all the time, 4.9999 stars on Yelp and 400 reviews, but all they want to do is rip (off) and replace. The real guys are the ones that really know how stuff works, how to repair stuff, and value your time and make an effort. Malco is one of the real guys. read more

With a laundry list of electrical needs, I had several outdoor outlets that needed covers. One outlet had a loose wire that tripped the outside circuits needed for holiday lighting. Malco returned the day we discovered the issue and warranted the work! Now we have lighted outdoor trees and beautiful under counter lights in our kitchen. Malco Electric - Electricians Near Me - Austin, Texas

The Malco team is amazing, especially Steve, Mark, and Lenny. Super professional, extremely solutions oriented and wanting to make sure they provide the right recommendations for their clients based on needs and budget. Thank you to this team, I highly recommend working with them! read more

Just plain rude and careless (See the snapshot). The guy wouldn't even care to set up an appointment with my tenant ("It's your job not mine") and refused to service me. AVOID! read more

Fast, friendly service! They showed up when promised and were great to work around our schedule.

4/9/2020 update - I included better photos for clarity - the first photo is the actual advertised photo - the other 3 are the photos depicting what Malco electric assembled. I am beyond happy with the results! The outcome looks better than the actual advertised photo! Greetings Austin! Looking for an electrician to install and assemble your chandelier at a really affordable cost? Look no further - Malco Electric is legit. I evaluated and received a number of quotes from several electricians in the Austin area before deciding on Malco Electric, which Ended up being the best decision ever! Cody and his team were responsive, on time, worked efficiently and provided great pricing. Jimmie was also super responsive to my questions about their service and they were all honest and down to earth. Initially, I was very nervous about who was going to install my very large, heavy, glass chandelier that I spent several thousand dollars on and took months before it was delivered. When the chandelier finally arrived in came in a million pieces and I was concerned who was going to be able to put it together. Cody and his team worked together and successfully assembled/installed the chandelier within 3 hours and it turned out beautifully! If anyone has further questions about the experience I had with Malco Electric please don't hesitate to DM. I also included pictures. How Malco Electric is now my go-to electrician and can expect more of my business in future. Thanks again! read more

I called Malco in a pinch for an outlet that needed fixing outside. They worked me in the next day, completed the job in less than 2 minutes and were friendly. We did have a minor disagreement after the service was completed but the owner, Randy, called me directly and we handled it without any issues. I would use them again! read more

Austin and David came out to make a repair on a breaker and managed to fit my house into their schedule despite my last minute request for help. I'm very appreciative of their work. Everyone that I've worked with from Malco has been very courteous, professional, and incredibly efficient. Austin and David were very kind and even gave me some quick educational information on wiring and faulty breakers. I plan on using Malco for any future electrical needs, and I will also request them for some commercial work that my company needs. I look forward to working with them on future projects and highly recommend them to anyone needing electrical work. read more

Nest Doorbell installation. Unfortunately, they did not listen when I told the scheduler that if they were going to try to bill me over $500 not to bother coming. I was told they would give me an estimate. Yes the estimator came and we discussed the door bell. He look at the electrical panel. The fire alarms and asked him how much it would cost a light weight chandelier. When he finished he gave me an estimate of over $7.000.00. To replace everything. And the original request would have been over three hundred to replace the door chime to make the nest door bell work, I guess. I called another company and the chime worked They Still charged me for the visit. Just saying buyer beware. read more

I can't recommend Malco Electric enough. Malco installed a new breaker box and ran an electrical wire for me. They were timely, quick and efficient. The final product was neatly installed and showed pride in their work. Also, Randy the owner, is a hoot. read more

Mark and Lennon came out to troubleshoot our bad breakers. Turns out, a previous electrician installed the wrong breaker and it fried everything. Thankfully, Mark diagnosed the issue and installed new (correct) breakers. They were transparent with everything and made sure I understood the costs prior to completing the work. Mark and Lennon came out today to do a bunch of work, install a new floodlight, switch out two light fixtures, three fire detectors, a switch and three new dimmers. They did the entire job in roughly 3 hours, it all worked the first time. Great guys, super fast and couldn't recommend them enough. I thought they would be here for most of the day, not done before noon. Thanks again! read more

UPDATE: Malco Electric reached out to me by phone and told me there was an error in my invoice, so I shouldn't have been charged for the apprentice as well as the journeyman. They voided my check and I was able to pay for the fixed invoice (just the journeyman). I appreciate their quick response and resolution to my issue. Putting my review back to 5 stars! read more

Easy to work with for sure. Called and made my appointment, they showed up exactly as planned. They had to come fix something I broke, and didn't make me feel like a moron. Both guys were nice, competent and efficient. Costs were very reasonable given the work requested. These are my electricians now. read more

I just sent Chris and Eliot out the door, and--as usual--they made life better while they were in my home. From Sherry who answers the phone to Chris or whoever comes out in the call, these people are running their business the way I wish everyone would. They have never let me down once in all the years I've used them, in three different homes. It's so unusual to place a service call and start feeling less stressed the minute I dial the number, but that's what happens when I dial Malco. Every time. read more

We had an electrical short at our business, Malco scheduled a tech same day. Responsive, professional, and easy to work with.

Malco electric made me wait a month for my appointment for a backup generator estimate, which was fair as generators are in high demand. However, Jimmie, who was meant to show up on February 7th never showed up. I have attempted to contact him and never got a response. read more

David and Austin came out today and did an incredible job diagnosing and fixing an issue with our wiring. I've used Malco twice now, and I prefer them to any other electricians I've tried. They're fair and upfront about pricing, and they work they do is great. They even took the time to fix another issue they found while they were working on the main issue. Will definitely use them again in the future. read more

Ok so we've just found our new electricians. Hired these guys to come out and install a new outlet for our fridge. Process made more complicated because we have a home genny. The initial quote was totally on track, and the people that did the work were terrific. They even moved our fridge back into its final location. So far everything is working well. Great communication and Five-star service. There's more work that needs to be tackled here eventually so they're now in our rolodex. read more

Customer service is outstanding. They were able to help us figure out what to do over the phone and did not charge us for a one second fix. If we have problems in the future, I will be calling here and recommending to my family and friends. read more

We just had Malco Electric come out to our house to install three different sets of new light fixtures, an in-ground landscape light, and a timer switch. David and Austin were the two electricians that showed up for Malco. They did everything that you are supposed to do. They called in advance, they showed up on time, and were very thorough in their approach to the work. They are incredibly dedicated to making sure the install was done correctly, and they were clean, and friendly. I would not hesitate to refer them. In fact, we have a few more light fixtures on back order that aren't due to be delivered to us for another couple of months, and we will definitely be calling Malco Electric to install those for us as well. Great electricians! read more

Malco installed a light fixture in our dining room and two pendants in our kitchen. Their technicians Austin and David were knowledgeable, courteous, and thoughtful. They went above and beyond helping us place everything just right. Shortly after, Jimmie returned to help us add a dimmer that we'd forgotten to request the first time. We look forward to working with Malco for all future electrical jobs. read more

We called Malco Electric because a breaker was tripping randomly. David and Austin came out the next day. They did a great job, patiently investigating the source of the problem. It turned out to be a 'homeowner error' - we bought a microwave with too much power for the circuit. The long-term solution is to get a more appropriately-sized microwave. For now, based on David's guidance, we were able to shift some of the load on the circuit to another outlet. And we turn off some lights and appliances when running the microwave. The breaker has not tripped once since we made those adjustments. David and Austin successfully identified the problem and proposed both long-term and short-term fixes. Highly recommend! read more

Brandy O I guess we will agree to disagree. Do not agree with your reply to our review!! We DID call back to Sheri's phone call saying they had a opening right at that minute. We were out running errands and did not hear our phone ring. When we did notice she had called and left a message we called back immediately!!! She said thank you for calling back but that little window of opportunity was gone and that she would call us back when she could get us scheduled. Never called us back!! And Mr. Jimmy DID have an attitude of indifference. Wether this is just his personality we have no clue. So we stand by our review of your company!! read more

Steven was very helpful by message. Did not need to go to the property. Would definitely contact again if any electrical was needed.

We've been using Malco Electric ever since we moved to Austin in 2015 and we've been grateful every time! From the smallest thing, such as new outlets or under-counter lighting to adding a new electrical panel, they have done great work! They show up on time and at a reasonable cost! Even on a 100-plus degree day, like today, when the AC went out due to a bad breaker! They squeezed us in and the temperature is coming down! Thanks guys! read more

We called Malco a week ago to have a few outlets put in in our (1940s) home. Our wiring is older and difficult to deal with so we weren't sure what we were going to get but I'm so glad we called these guys. Chris showed up with a second electrician in tow (sorry friend, I forgot your name) and they were super efficient. They also did a great job explaining how our home's wiring is laid out and how we can best work with it in the future. Our bathroom in particular did not have the proper wiring to install an outlet safely but they were able to go the extra mile and run things from elsewhere in the house. I honestly can't believe how quickly they worked, how clean the house is now that they're gone, and how inexpensive it all was. I'd have done this months ago if I'd known about them. I'm putting Chris on speed dial for any of my future projects. In case anyone is concerned, they kept masks on the entire time, making sure that they had their noses covered entirely the entire time. They left every area that they touched cleaner than it was when they arrived. read more
