I have had excellent experiences with Malco Electric on three different occasions for my house in Caliterra. The first bit of work was to extend electrical conduit on the patio needed for a nice BBQ/outdoor kitchen appliance. I'm really picky about how things look, and they ran the conduit perfectly, straight and level and did an expert job attaching it to the brick. My second experience was to add a whole house protection circuit on my main panel (I think new houses require that now, but it wasn't at the time my house was built). I also needed an outlet relocated to the proper breaker, since the house builder did something dumb - the guys at Malco fixed that really easily. This past week, I've been upgrading my kitchen for new appliances, and needed to convert a 120V 20A to a 240V 15A, which just needed a new breaker in the sub panel and outlet. The initial quote seemed reasonable, but what really made me impressed with the company is after the work was done, they told me the job was easier than the quote and the price came in a lot less! When does that ever happen with a contractor? I just thought that showed integrity and you can tell Malco wants your return business. Super happy with the service! read more

The main panel for my rental home was on the fritz. AC and water heater worked, but outlets in the house did not. I called several electricians, some said they don't do same day, some said they wanted pictures, and a few would come out. The first one that came wanted to replace the whole panel, said it was corroded and over heating ...$5K. Then Malco came to look at it. It was a faulty breaker, and the buzz bar and all the main components of the panel were fine, $250. The third guy was too late. I see this all the time, 4.9999 stars on Yelp and 400 reviews, but all they want to do is rip (off) and replace. Nest Doorbell installation. Unfortunately, they did not listen when I told the scheduler that if they were going to try to bill me over $500 not to bother coming. I was told they would give me an estimate. Yes the estimator came and we discussed the door bell. He look at the electrical panel. The fire alarms and asked him how much it would cost a light weight chandelier. When he finished he gave me an estimate of over $7.000.00. To replace everything. And the original request would have been over three hundred to replace the door chime to make the nest door bell work, I guess. David and Austin were the two electricians that showed up for Malco. They did everything that you are supposed to do. We called Malco Electric because a breaker was tripping randomly. David and Austin came out the next day. They did a great job, patiently investigating the source of the problem. It turned out to be a 'homeowner error' - we bought a microwave with too much power for the circuit. The long-term solution is to get a more appropriately-sized microwave. For now, based on David's guidance, we were able to shift some of the load on the circuit to another outlet. And we turn off some lights and appliances when running the microwave. The breaker has not tripped once since we made those adjustments. David and Austin successfully identified the problem and proposed both long-term and short-term fixes. Highly recommend! read more
