We called Malco a week ago to have a few outlets put in in our (1940s) home. Our wiring is older and difficult to deal with so we weren't sure what we were going to get but I'm so glad we called these guys. Chris showed up with a second electrician in tow (sorry friend, I forgot your name) and they were super efficient. They also did a great job explaining how our home's wiring is laid out and how we can best work with it in the future. Our bathroom in particular did not have the proper wiring to install an outlet safely but they were able to go the extra mile and run things from elsewhere in the house. I honestly can't believe how quickly they worked, how clean the house is now that they're gone, and how inexpensive it all was. I'd have done this months ago if I'd known about them. I'm putting Chris on speed dial for any of my future projects. In case anyone is concerned, they kept masks on the entire time, making sure that they had their noses covered entirely the entire time. They left every area that they touched cleaner than it was when they arrived. read more

Had Jimmie give me the quote & then David and Austin from Malco Electric come do a number of things (install ceiling fans, replace a light fixture, fix a broken switch). Everyone from the receptionist on the phone to the journeyman electrician were pleasant to talk, efficient, and competent. Got good advice and the prices were transparent and accurate from the beginning. Will be using them in the future if we need anything else done. Highly recommend read more

These folks talked me through my minor issues over the phone!! Totally saved my day!! I've found my new electricians!

10/10 great experience. I heard one of my outlets popping and flipped the breaker right away and called them. They were able to fit me in quickly and were so nice on the phone! Jimmie came by and replaced the outlet for me, and even gave me some advice on where to buy good lightbulbs nearby when I mentioned mine burn out quickly. They were very nice and efficient, and I can't recommend them enough. I'll be doing more business with them soon! read more

On short notice Malco Electric swooped in and saved the day. The crew was exceptional - professional, efficient, and considerate. They listened to me and explained everything to me in clear language and, best of all, were able to fix all my myriad electrical issues. I cannot emphasize enough how great my experience was and I certainly will be using them in the future. It was a pleasure to do business with them. 100% recommended. read more

Malco Electric saved my bacon. I had a circuit breaker tripping randomly and the Malco guys located and fixed the issue (improperly connected wire in the attic). It was complicated but Malco methodically traced the proper wiring and solved the issue. Well done, many thanks! read more

We needed our outside electric service entirely replaced and brought up to code (it was 45 years old). We got 4 quotes and they were reasonable and could get to it in a reasonable timeframe. Plus, they had to deal with the City with multiple calls and multiple followup calls to get permits and inspection which is no easy feat! They replaced the box, breakers, and installed a whole house surge protector. And, they had to crawl up on the roof to cut a hole to install the riser and reattach the wires. We passed City inspection the first time! Thanks Malco for keeping me informed weekly about the City permitting/inspections and making this as easy as one phone call and writing a check! I wish everyone just DID THEIR JOB like you did! -K read more

All I need to say is these are the folks you need on your side. We had an issue with our electricity turning off. We called and they came out the same day. No other company was willing to do same day since there were problems everywhere. Malco Took on the issue we had and solved it quickly. Not only that we had them come back and service preventative things. Cody was a great help and super knowledgeable! Thank you Malco for your help and Cody for your experience in solving our crazy puzzle we had. read more

David and Austin were a pleasure to work with - professional, patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable!

We needed a LOT of work done: dimmers, switches, lamps and ceiling fans hung, and we are VERY satisfied! Josh and his crew were VERY punctual (which is rare for contractors). We're VERY glad we chose Malco. Highly recommend. read more

They seem really nice but I can't get them to do any work for me. They've been out to my house and said they'd get back to me. They did call eventually to say they'd call me the next week to start working on our project. Nope and that was months ago. They are nice though. read more

I called Malco electric for a little próject I wanted to start in my living room. I needed a dedicated outlet for my electric fireplace. Jimmy and his assistant came by and gave me a very reasonable quote. Today workers arrived and were very professional and polite. They got the work done faster than I expected and now I can continue my project adding my little fireplace feature wall. I highly recommend malco electric for any electrical work. Reliable and extremely professional and helpful. read more

Two months wasted. I assume this company does good work because I had to make an appointment a whole month out. Which made it even more frustrating when my appointment got cancelled. I've called back several times, to only get the run around and to never have my appointment rescheduled. Very dissapointed. read more

We came home from our vacation and had no hot water. Our electrical main panel was hissing, not a good sign. We called Randy and he came out 2 hours later and gave us a bid. A few days later his crew replaced the panel. I highly recommend Malco Eletric! read more

We have had Malco Electric company come out for multiple jobs at our house - anything from replacing electrical outlets, putting dimmers in and wiring kitchen lighting. We have always had a good experience with their services. When we found out my mother's house had an electrical fire in an outlet, we called Malco Electric for help. They prioritize the job because it was an emergency/fire hazard and were able to work out getting someone out to her house within a few hours to fix the problem. We are very grateful for the work that they do and will continue to hire them for all our electrical projects. read more

My hot water heater quit working. After replacing it, still did not work. I called Malco electric late in the day after the water heater was installed and they came out the next morning. Turns out, I needed a breaker replaced. They were quick in their response and very professional. I have used them numerous times over the years when I have electrical work that needs to be done. read more

We needed an old, old outside floodlight fixture replaced. I called Malco Electric and spoke to Sherry, who's very nice. We set up an appointment for just a few days away. David and Keifer not only came on time, but were early. They installed a new fixture and needed to replace an old light switch. It was done in a jiff and is working great. David and Keifer were easy to work with, knew what needed to be done, and did it without hesitation. I selected Malco Electric based on its high Yelp reviews, and I will attest that the reviews were entirely merited. read more

Super pleased with the work that David and Austin did, they were fast, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. They repaired a faulty outlet rapidly and went above and beyond to diagnose and fix the older wiring. We will call Malco for any and all future electrical work needs! read more

I needed two outdoor flood lights and two landscape lights installed and went on yelp to find the honest electrician I received many bids including 900 bid from a electrician who in my opinion outrages in price. I want all of you out there seeking a real honest nice guy it is MALCO ELECTRIC gave us a real good deal. He came early and prompt called first then came within mins. Actually he was more effective and reasonable price wise than any other electrician we hired in the past. I was quite happy with his service and will depend on him coming back. read more

These guys are responsive and efficient. They hung an antique brass chandelier from a 14ft ceiling, which required them to make adjustments to the length of each chain on site (see photo). They did an impeccable job! They worked fast on an all day job without stopping for lunch. And they're price point was VERY reasonable. read more

Malco Electric - Chandelier - Electricians Near Me - Austin, Texas

I recently had Malco Electric come over to replace ceiling fans & light fixtures, change breaker switches, and install a ceiling fan in the garage. The first crew, David & Austin, were fabulous and installed everything while keeping every area clean. I needed more lights so for the second time at the house, it was David & Steven who again were fabulous & cleaned up everything as they worked. These guys were all professional & got the work done in an efficient and timely manner. I highly recommend Malco Electric got your electrical needs!! read more

A breaker tripped and suddenly the outlets for my oven, washer, and dryer weren't working. Resetting the breakers didn't seem to work. I called the office hoping someone might be available even though it was a holiday - I was able to reach someone on call right away and they headed straight over. I'm embarrassed to say that when he arrived, the problem was that the breakers weren't in the correct position on one side - sigh. Of course I was ready to pay for his time but he was kind enough not to charge me - incredibly generous. 100% would recommend for any electrician work needed. read more

Malco Electric team has been wonderful to work with, not only they're professional and passionate about their work, they also care about the customer needs, so when my refrigerator stop working on Friday afternoon in mid of June , they come over right away, help me fix the problem, saved all the food in the refrigerator and a big headache, thank you, Malco! read more

I used Malco Electric to install an interlock and hook up a generator. Throughout the whole process they were professional, timely, communicative and competitively priced. They even helped me navigate the added challenge of my circuit breaker not having the specific part available on the market with custom hardware fitted for me. I am so appreciative of the entire staff at Malco Electric for the work they did and continue to do! read more

Great local company right here in Dripping Springs. They're family owned and have been in business for a long time. They responded quickly to my call, even put an electrician on the phone to ask questions about the problem I was experiencing. I really appreciated that as it might have saved me a service call. In this case, they did have to come out, but they worked quickly, efficiently, and the charge was very reasonable. I am recommending them to friends and neighbors. read more

They came out the next day, bought the part, and fixed the wiring issue that same day. Professional, honest, and pleasant to work with! I will be calling them again! read more

I had a small job, a DIY gone wrong and I needed to call in the pros. I botched the electric wiring on a garbage disposal and created a tough problem. They slid me in pretty quick and everyone I dealt with was really nice and chill and helpful. And the price was more than fair I thought. 5 stars all the way! read more

Pretty simple job, 14 light switches and 9 smoke detectors. Too much for a lazy old fart like me. Easy scheduling, punctual, did the work and cleaned up after themselves. Pricey? IDK, I think everything is expensive nowadays and I'm good supporting local small business and having the job done right. Yeah, I'd use them again. read more

Reasonable, honest, and fast. Very courteous and professional. Used this company since the 1980's and the high quality of the customer service and work performed is second to none. Dave and Austin arrived on time and completed multiple items from a list we had compiled then held off getting completed during COVID years. Included was installation of several GFCI outlets, new dimmers, non working outlets fixed, bathroom ceiling heater replaced, closet light replaced, and miscellaneous other items handled or checked to be sure in code. We will call in future when work is needed. read more

I needed to upgrade my electrical service in order to install a generac backup generator. It was a complicated process and took more than a year and 3 months because of delays caused by AustinEnergy. Throughout the often frustrating process, Randy from Malco Electric stayed on top of pursuing the project, kept me informed, and worked well to coordinate with the generator vendor especially about the complicated design. When it was finally possible to do the electrical work, his crew of several electricians was friendly and professional. I would certainly recommend this outfit. read more

Malcolm Electric's communication is exceptional amongst this great group of people! A lovely woman by the name of Shari answered the phone and listened to my problem! It has been wonderful to work with this crew! We had work done on a bathroom remodel and exterior wiring/outlets. From jump to finish, they were responsive, clear in their communications, and always pleasant to talk to. Jimmy took time to explain everything and helped game out solutions to engineering challenges along the way, Donato and Steven did fantastic work all around the house, and Shari was a pleasure to talk with every time I called in. Superior work, fair prices, and great folks to work with! We will have them back for our next remodeling phase for sure! read more

Chose malco for two reasons. They were recommended on yelp and after checking with several others, their price for service call was only $95 when others were $150 or more. Jimmie came out today promptly at 8 and did a quick fix on one fan that rattled then took down and reinstalled another ceiling fan. He was quick and cleaned up after himself. Good job and total was less than $150 for all. I would certainly call them again in the future. read more

We had a weird issue with burnt plastic smells randomly showing up in the house and called Malco for help. They were extremely thorough and while checking for any issues they identified a handful of other problems (like incorrect fuses and a circuit that was mislabeled). We identified the source of the smell and were able to leave for a planned trip without the stress of wondering if the house was going to have an electrical fire. We really appreciated their professionalism and knowledge. I will definitely give them a call the next time I need an electrician. read more
