Really thankful for the team at Edge. Kelly called me back pretty quick after I put out an inquiry on yelp and squeezed me in for an quick assessment in between jobs. The main job was to get an outlet installed for an EV charger and Kelly's expertise was top notch when it came to explaining my system and recommendations for placement and their quote was very fair. I had Kelly check another issue for me that wasn't part of my original inquiry and he took the time to figure it out and got me booked for someone to come and do the work really promptly. Charles came out and assessed the problem and resolved it within minutes, explained the issue and answered questions I had with expertise. He also helped me answer a few more questions about some things with switches, very friendly and overall this team was solid. For me, the price of the service wasn't even a question by the time these guys were done. Even if they were on the higher end of an Electrician's cost (which they're not, they're right on par) it would have been worth it for all the things so explained here. Then when I called in to dispute it they tried to say they have $575 fee just to COME OUT and they tried to say they told me beforehand but THEY DID NOT. Hired Edge for a lighting job on the remodel of my home. We need some can lights and pendent lights installed along with hanging of a dining room chandelier. From the start of the interaction up until completion of the job was 100% best experience. I called around and got quotes for my projects and Edge by far was the best! The technician Mr. Flores came to our home and followed covid protocols he was very knowledgeable and helped with the flow of the lights because I was unsure of where I wanted them. We hired an electrician from Edge to complete a project in our garage about a year ago, and he did a great job at a relatively reasonable price. We were happy enough with that job that we contacted Edge again today for an issue we were having with two outlets not working. Upon calling, we were told that the company was undergoing some changes due to "losing money", and all their prices were higher now. Weird thing to say, but ok. We described our problem and he walked us through basic troubleshooting before scheduling a guy to come out. He could even come out this afternoon! It sounded great. We asked for a cost estimate, but he said he could not give us one because it would depend on the job. The guy comes out, pushes a GFCI button that had tripped, and the problem is fixed. I thanked him, and he went to go call his supervisor about how much they were going to charge me. He came back and said they adjusted it down to $311. My jaw dropped. (For reference, the job last year cost us $700 for hours of work putting in two new electrical outlets with their own breakers). Per my camera doorbell, the electrician was in and out of my home in FOUR MINUTES. He explained that the $311 was their minimum 1-hour rate. Now, I *definitely* understand being charged to have someone come out regardless, but this seemed outrageous, and I said as much. He said we were warned about it on the phone while scheduling, and I said we absolutely were not, even when we asked for an estimate. Terrible, terrible business practice, a total lack of honesty and transparency, and evidently not the same business they once were. read more
