I moved to town June 2021. I asked three places to install my theatre. I won't name the other two but they wouldn't get back to me in a timely manner and they had jobs pushing out their commitment to 9 months. At least one place told me I wasn't a "high dollar thus as valued customer". I remember those places, always. I called Empire and within 5 days they had a wonderful gentleman come over and give me an estimate. Side note, all stereo places prefer you buy their equipment before they install it. Empire did all my installation needs within one month and didn't complain that I only bought cheap ceiling speakers. The whole job was on par for pricing and the amount of work was well done and quick. Finally, I have Control4 so they were able to automate my theatre experience. I have had one issue, my router went down and for some reason the receiver I bought in NC lost it's IP information. While I had to pay for the service call, Empire had someone out within 4 days and not only was it fixed within 10 minutes, the installer showed me how to fix it! In summary, if you want good AV (Audio / Video) equipment and installation for your home in a timely manner, reasonable prices, and by good people, give these guys a shout. There is a reason that Empire is as highly rated as they are. I'll let you know up front that I am totally "that guy". I had a vision of what I was wanting in my media/theater room. We needed to integrate existing components with the new ones that we were purchasing through Empire and make them all work seamlessly together. I spoke with a couple other companies and told them what my requirements were. They told me what I was asking for simply couldn't be done. They said that I would be forced to spend several thousand more than I was prepared to. Then I spoke to Timothy with Empire. Timothy not only listened to my vision, but took the extra time to come out and physically look at the space. Not something that anyone else offered, AND Timothy offered to do it for free and without obligation. We agreed upon a time and day and Timothy was there on time. We spoke about the vision for the space, examined the existing components and parted ways with him promising that what I was after was in fact completely possible. We spent a couple of days going back and forth considering different options and finally agreed on a setup that was within budget. Deposits were made and an install date was scheduled. A surprisingly quick install date at that! The day before installation was set to happen, there was a snag. One of the components was delayed in shipping. Not a problem, they would be back out in two days to install it, and all would be good. Installation day comes and Timothy and his tech are there to get things going. The first day's installation goes swimmingly. Everything was installed, except the component that was in transit. Upon inspection I noticed a few things that just weren't up to my standard, again remember, I'm that guy. My ceiling in the theater is painted a beautiful flat black. His tech installed bright white outlets on my beautiful black ceiling! Timothy comes out to do the install of the missing component two days later. Keep in mind Timothy isn't an install tech, he's the sales lead. His commitment to customer service is what had him come out. During the install of the missing component, Timothy replaced the white outlets with black! We also ran into a snag, that seemed like it was going to derail the whole thing. Timothy called in backup and John arrives! Between the two of them and a phone call to a mysterious tech guru, everything came together in the end. A few days later, Timothy checked in to make sure everything was running smoothly! Service after the sale! Almost unheard of! I know this is a long post, and if your still with me I commend you! I have no doubt that when the time comes to make the upgrades to my home theater that it'll be Timothy and John that I turn to! read more

Our church needed our new projector and motorized screen installed. I called several area AV companies and Empire was the first to respond. In fact, most others never called back. Empire's pricing was MUCH lower than the others and they gave us an onsite estimate at no cost. They worked hard on the installation and tested it with our technology team to make sure everything met our approval. Dean followed up a few days later to make sure all was well. read more

Buyer Beware. They added a few new ethernet lines (a year back), One of line was for future use (outside balcony, now converted to an office room). The installer left the site without actually testing that line. When I tried using the port the link light did not come up. When I called them for help (Mar 1st 2022), the first appointment was 2 weeks away. On the day of appointment no one showed up. When I called they said that some how the appointment got deleted and they gave another day which was last Friday. This time I got a call saying there were family emergency and the technician could not come. When I called again for status, the answer I got was I was not a critical customer (even with multiple no shows) . I wish I knew if there was a problem they created I had to live with that. Frustrated with the customer service and run around I received I decided to go outside for help. I used google and got a technician who came the next day and fixed the faulty cabling termination in 10 mins and I am online now. If you are using these people, and unlucky to have an install issue you are in for the lot of hassle, if you depend on them to come and take care of it. They will never show up. read more

I really wanted to give these guys 5 stars but this is based on my full experience and from component selection and to the professionalism and attention to details. What they do get 5 stars on is communication, John came out and did a quote and recommended me on a system, I placed the order easily online and was able to get fast responses and updates on when the equipment arrived and setting up an install date. John was helpful on answering questions I had after the initial consultation. After about 3 weeks or so all the components came in and I scheduled my install, that was smooth. Except the installers that came made a mess of the floor from all the dry wall cutting and packaging material from the components were left scattered everywhere. I had to ask them to wear booties that I provided on their shoes as the house was new construction and the carpets were new. What irked me was the installer at first was very abrasive and didn't seem to want to be bothered, the second guy that was here didn't know anything when I asked technical questions about setup and speaker placement, at that point holes were already cut and wires being ran, wall plates were not screwed in. At the end of the day, I felt like the installers were frustrated because the Denon receiver was defective out of the box so he spent so much time on the phone with Denon customer support, finally it was decided it was a bad receiver. The hole for the projector mount was cut twice because the first mount wasn't long enough, so they got a longer mount but the mounting point changed so the hole was cut bigger to accommodate and just looked ugly and unfinished. I did talk to John about the mess that was left and he credited me on running an extra Ethernet cable, but I ended having to drywall up that hole myself costing me more money ~200 dollars. I had mentioned early on to the first installers that the projector screen was mounted to high, he assured me that that they could come back and move it down if I still felt like it was too high after using it. I reached out to John to tell him my experience and he was sorry that it turned out that way, he then said he would credit me back for the drywall costs, but then when I asked him about moving the screen down he then said he'll send someone out and that we'll call it even for the labor of moving the screen down with the drywall costs. When they moved the screen down they scratched my wall and then had left 4 holes from the mounting which I then had to patch up and touch-up myself. I feel like the components recommended were subpar to my liking, I'm a pretty technical person and I was sold on the fact that these Elura branded in-ceiling speakers were out of this world good for the price, I fault myself for not doing more research and when I did I couldn't find many reviews online for this brand it seems like they are popular for dealers to push this for their profit margin. The screen was a SI 120" Slate which I am happy with and the projector after doing research I should have gone with a higher end Epson projector rather that the 4050 which is just a black version of the 4010. The receiver was a Denon x1600H which has some good features and was powerful enough to power the Elura speakers. I was hoping that I would get a mind blowing system but after using it for a month and running the Audyssy tuning that came with the Denon several times, the sound just is muggy and hollow, and I dont feel immersed in movies. I decided to get some sound absorbing material for the walls and after spending hundreds more it still doesn't sound that much better i'm by no means an audiophile just hoped that the system would sound as advertised. I'm not sure if its because the setup is not really suited for the size of the room and speaker placement is not good, or the space above my ceiling makes it sound like this. If would advise to do much of the research on the components you want before reaching out and understanding the size and placement of speakers impact the performance. I will be looking into replacing this setup in the near future. read more

If you need any kind of AV work done in your home, i highly recommend Empire. I recently needed a sound bar installed under one of my TVs and some ceiling speakers installed in our living room. I had visited John almost a year earlier to pick out some speakers but had decided to wait. He gave me a call almost a year later to follow up and when I told him I was still needing them, he came right over, quoted me a price and setup the appointment for the following week. Ricky arrived on time and proceeded to install the sound bar and the speakers. He went above and beyond to make sure everything worked, and my questions were answered. He was professional, meticulous, and efficient. He even cleaned up after himself from the sheetrock powder residue, and made sure I was totally satisfied with his work. Ricky even addressed some small issues like a wire that was peaking out from behind the TV. This attention to detail plus John's attentiveness to followup are great qualities in a company. Unfortunately, when I went to schedule with them they said that they couldn't honor their quote because it was provided with the wrong rates for my area. This is the easiest review I will ever have to write. I would give them 100 stars if that was possible. From scheduling, workmanship, knowledge, friendliness, and top notch materials- this crew has it all. They didn't have the lowest quote, but I could tell that they were on top of it looking at the way it was written - itemized, understandable, and accurate. I added like 4 additional jobs to the work being done, and 2 visits later - I have 3 flatscreens with no wires showing, perfectly centered, a new wireless receiver for the whole house, new floating soundbar, and perfectly placed entertainment center on a tough wall to use as we completely rearranged our living room. And, all of this was done as Corona virus dominated everyone. I plan to take my home to the next level for audio in the coming months and I have the items needed (receiver that does EVERYTHING) to make that happen. I moved into a house that was already wired for ethernet and cable in every bedroom and the livingroom, however I wanted to place my TV on a different wall instead of above the fireplace like the previous owner had it. Empire AV was able to drop the lines down the wall I wanted (even though that meant they had to do some extra work and drill down through some fire blocks along the way) and even added an extra coax cable from the attic to the same outlet since I decided I wanted to hook up an OTA antenna in there in the coming days. They then ran some speaker wires from that same outlet, up to the ceiling, and then down the back wall for some surround sound speakers. This was a bit tough because that wall has three windows rather close together and a small area with an electrical outlet towards the end of the wall. They had some trouble dealing with such a small workable area, but in the end they were able to put that outlet with the speaker wires right above the electrical outlet. It's not the best location possible, but after seeing the amount of work they did to try to put it in the spot I wanted, I was more than happy with the compromise. It's still hidden by the couch, anyways. All in all, they do great work and are very nice to work with. I know if I end up wanting to upgrade my living room with a mounted TV or end up needing some other home theater upgrade, I'll definitely be calling them again! read more

I engaged Empire Services to configure and install a surround sound system for my Family Room TV and add outdoor speakers. They configured a wireless system using HEOS (Denon) sound bar, woofer, HEOS Amp, and Elura outdoor speakers. The installation was performed by John (and Tim) and they were completely professional in all respects. First of all, after comparing prices they were quite inexpensive for a well established company offering this service. John and Ricky showed up when they said they would. They were very respectful of my place and took their shoes off without being asked. I noticed that they moved items out of the way so they wouldn't get dust on them during the install. They hung a TV mount with a 65" TV and sound bar and ran all the cables in the wall. Also these were both top of the line, high ticket items and I was glad to see them handle these items with commensurate care. The cable management actions they did made it so the TV could pivot out 4 feet from the wall, back and forth, without the cables ever falling into view. A very professional installation. I had what I would think is a more challenging installation mounting over a fireplace on a texas stone wall. The wires needed to be concealed and not protruding out from the tv.
