Their customer service is the worst! I had no problems whatsoever when it was FrontPoint but as soon as it changed to Alert360 things went down the hill. FrontPoint always provided the panel's battery replacement and new sensors for free, forget about it with Alert360. Whenever I tried to contact them to get assistance or to talk to a representative it took me about 30 minutes to be able to find a phone number to call them. Once I had them on the phone their assistance was of no help, some of the agents were even curt and didn't see to care about my issue. For financial reasons I had to cancel the service, last thing I remembered I was told with FrontPoint that there were no contracts and could cancel at any time without problems. Well, since moving to Alert360 it seems that one is under a contract since you have to give them 30 days notice to cancel or else you will be charged. Since I cancelled at the beginning of September they charged me for the month, ok that's fine, but I gave them my notification before October and guess what?! They went ahead and charged me for the month with no service! Ha! I called them twice to get the charge refunded (the woman that answered was pretty rude by the way), last agent I spoke to told me the refund should've been made right away on my first call! He said the refund would be posted in my back account within 5-7 days...it's already half month and no amount has been refunded so I had to dispute the charge which is still in process. Please don't trust this people and their business practices, they will screw you up any chance they get and you won't see a penny if you are asking for money back! **UPDATE: I received a call from one their representatives on October 29 telling me they had sent me a check on October 16 and I should get it shortly. Well, it is now November 7 and I still haven't received any check yet. I submitted a review at the ConsumerAffairs website and the BBB. My bank is also disputing and investigating this issue. I still don't recommend them and wouldn't go back to them even if their service was free... **UPDATE (11/22/24): The company called me to tell me that the check they had sent went back to them due to them missing to write down the apartment number (you would think they have the complete address since they're a security systems company! The irony!), fine, I gave the correct address and the agent says they'll resent the check. Next day, I received another call saying they couldn't send the check since they don't have the complete address! This company is just joking with me at this point! What type of training is the staff getting? They don't know how to write down notes in one's file??? It's ridiculous, a joke and a waste of time! My bank still dealing with the dispute (about two months ongoing now!) which they shouldn't have to...shm. I have updated every single complaint I put out there about this company (Google, Yahoo, BBB, Consumer Affairs, Yelp, etc.) so people will realize the kind of business this is and to PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND FIND SOMETHING BETTER! read more

He set our system up exactly the way we wanted it, was extremely patient with our questions and made absolute certain that we were well informed & comfortable before leaving. Although he was very efficient with his time, we never felt rushed....and believe me, we asked A LOT of questions! One star because zero is not an option. I received my system when it was BSG. Always great service. Whenever I called, they were always helpful. I called Alert 360 today for the first time because I wanted an upgrade on the cameras. I was concerned that my cameras didn't record 24 hours when the house was armed and wanted information on what my product options were. Didn't even get to ask. First thing out of her mouth 'You're not on the account', didn't care why I was calling, I'm not on the account. I set this up, I'm on the account that pays the bill, I have made every service call and my safety is the reason we got a security system. It gets transferred to Alert 360 and I'm no longer on the account. My husband needs to make all calls. Asked for a manager, of course the call dropped after hold. I changed to two because a manager and a service tech did get the issue corrected. I am still very concerned about the CSR service and how my name would be dropped from the account. read more

She explained that their policy is not to hold someone to a 1-year renewal, if they successfully completed the 3 year contract term. Buyer Beware! Make sure to set a reminder to 'renegotiate your contract' with this company or else they'll happily charge you for your equipment forever. From what i see they've overcharged me for 8 years $20 x 12 x 8 = $1920. when i brought it to their attention the best they could do is charge me $29.95 going forward even though their website currently says $15.99 for a basic monitoring which is all i had anyways. the more i think about this horsepuckey... the more I think i need to get TV News on this! read more

After 3 year (!) contract was up, I immediately cancelled my service (which was an incredibly long and painful process BTW), as it is a terrible value. They disconnected my service right away upon receiving my required written notice, but continued to charge me for 60 days worth of service (which was a service never rendered btw) as part of their standard contractual protocol. Is this the type of company you want to do business with? Most companies cancel service then pro-rate, not continue charging for 60 days even out of contract. This is the worst company I've ever done business with by far. Do your research. read more

I am happy to say that I am glad to have service with this company. From the very beginning John was great with explaining how things worked. The installation went well (although I wish he had went over some things a couple of more times). Yesterday when we left the house and put the alarm on, the alarm went off and I was notified via email and the app. I had rep called as we pulled back to see what happened. The rep stayed on the phone until we confirmed all was well (the garage door was not closed properly and the wind blew the door open). So far I like the company and the service. read more

This company is garbage. My mother bought a home with a security system previously used with central security group. They attempted to get her to purchase service through them with the existing system but my mother told them she wasn't interested. My mother undertook significant effort to ensure the system was off, disarmed and inactive because she had no intention of using it. A few months later, the alarm went off for the first time for reasons still unknown to us. My mother called and was speaking with an agent who refused to assist because somehow my mother wasn't "on the account". Central security group (apparently AKA 360 Security) was happy to acknowledge her as the owner while attempting to sell the system to her but refused to acknowledge her as the owner when the system was going off continuously on a Saturday night. The agent's advice was "call an electrician". Thankfully, the previous owner answered when we called and knew their old password which allowed us to disarm the system. I came over and disconnected the battery backup and all wired power to the unit, so hopefully we will never have the misfortune of dealing with this company's abhorrent customer service again. Don't let anyone you care about use this company, they are seriously awful. read more

I used this service for 5 years. I paid my bills every month on time and during the 5 years of service there were no big issues. I recently sold my house and no longer live there. I called Central in May and was told I had to wait until the contract expired before I could cancel (after Aug 29 2016). During my call in May there was no mention of a "cancelation letter". I call Central this week to make sure I was no longer getting charged for the service and now they tell me I should have sent in a cancelation letter back July. Since they did not receive a letter with my cancelation request they started a new 1 year contract for a house I no longer own. Shocked, I asked the customer service rep if I could pay for the 2 months Sept & Oct, she said no. My only options for a house I no longer own - 1) cancel now but I still have to pay the full 12 months or 2) they will let me out of my new 1 year forced upon me contract for a small buy out fee $200.! Buyers beware, if the service is so good, why do they feel the need to trick you into a new contract. Read the tiny print. Since my initial review of 1 I was contacted by Central and we have come to a mutual agreement. I like the fact they were willing to listen to a few suggestions. The top one being, contact the customer 45 days out from contract renewal and discuss options. I hope they decide to make this adjustment. Thank you Jimmy for your help. read more

My husband and I moved into a new home and were looking for a simple and easy to use security system for our home. This system is perfect for us. The team was professional, knowledgeable and very quick to respond to questions and concerns. They were on time with installation and offered very competitive pricing and great deals. They walked us through how to use the system and didn't leave until we felt comfortable using the system ourselves. The system itself is simple to use and can be activated using an app on our phones or on the security panel in the house. Glad we got it bc someone broke into the house in front of ours the day after we installed it. They might have steered clear of our house bc of the central secuity group sign in the front of our house. Be prepared to get a permit, depending on where you live. I originally gave 1 star for a bad customer-service experience, but Someone from their team contacted me and made it right. Essentially, our 2-year old pressed the panic button and the police we called (arrived about 20-30 mins after the button was pressed). The city fined us $200 for a false alarm because we didn't have a permit. I had no idea we needed a permit to have alarm, and contacted Central Security to ask if they would provide us some credit, as we not only use them at our home in Austin, but also in the house we own in Houston (and, though the contract did state we were responsible for a permit, no one ever actually mentioned it... Which I would felt should have been verbally spoken bc I didn't read every detail of the 15 page contract). The note they responded back with was the worst: insulting, rude, disrespectful (even had some grammar errors). However, after they followed up on my comment, they did apologize and have graciously offered us three months credit, which is highly appreciated. She was courteous and quick to follow up, which was great. No issues with their service. Hope we don't have to every really use it, but no issues! read more

I recently purchased a home that had an inactive but operating security system through Central Security Group. One day I came home and there was an alert on the alarm system that would beep periodically. I contacted Central Security Group to see how to deactivate the alarm system and in the process set off a full blown alarm with sirens. At the time I was home alone with my one year old son. After searching through the entire house for the main box I finally unplugged the security system but the alarm continued and the tech said that I may have found an old system and there must be another one in the house somewhere, including the attic. I asked if they could send a service technician out to help since I was home alone with a crying baby and an alarm system going off but they refused because I wasn't an existing customer. I asked to be transferred to a manager and she gave me the same answer and offered no solutions. Eventually after walking through what I had done the manager realized that I still needed to remove the battery from the keypad (service tech did not tell me to do that). Luckily, the manager was able to help me deactivate the alarm in the end, but the fact that they would refuse to send out a service tech because I didn't have an existing account is extremely poor customer service. After this encounter, I will NOT reactive the alarm system through them. read more

I have had a handful of security companies over the years. These guys really bend over backwards to make the customer happy. In my case, due to NO fault of these guys, it took 4 service calls to get my system up and running properly. They always showed up on time and did whatever it took to get the system where it needed to be. I've used 360 for maybe 4 years give or take and never had any issues. I remember installation being a snap and we set our alarm every night. The mobil app works, alarm works etc. Today I called to cancel my service since we're moving, and I gotta tell you, based on the other reviews in here I was bracing to go to battle. Not so much. The gentleman on the phone was friendly, and did let me know my options about taking their service with me (hey they're in business to DO business no harm there) and informed me all I had to do was send in a letter via e-mail if I liked. He told me what information to include, where to send it no problem. They require 30 days notice, but again, that's fair enough. So I sent in the e-mail, got notification that it was received and they thanked me for my business. It didn't seem like this was their first rodeo, people move all the time so I don't know about all the negative reviews, but based on my personal experience I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alert 360. read more

We have had a couple instances where our alarm has gone off while we were out of town, and the team at CSG was extremely prompt and professional while dealing with police and neighbors assisting us. Also, I recently upgraded my system to wireless and love the new technology features. I would not recommend central security group to anyone. A few months after we has our service the system stopped communicating with the server. They sent technicians to our home without notice when no one was available and the issue was never resolved. The customer service is horrible. Everyone I have talked to has been incredibly rude and unhelpful. Our contract was not explained to us properly and we had no idea that we were being auto renewed. I have been trying to cancel the service for almost a year for service at a residence were we no longer live and have not had any luck with a helpful customer service person to help me. We have had such a bad experience and I cannot believe that they can treat their customers with such little respect and continue to do business. read more

And he was very kind, knowledgable, and professional too, which is just what you need when you have had your home invaded. I'm leaving off one star because of the put-upon attitude of the customer service agents we delt with over the phone. It took way too long for them to agree to send out a tech, rather than trying to walk us through yet another over-the-phone repair that didn't work. But Max gets 5 stars!
