We had True Protection installed in our newly built house! This is our first alarm system and the entire process from start to finish has been smooth, educational, exciting and had the added bonus of great customer service from John Jarvis. The system it self is really easy to use with simple instructions and a phone app for ease of use when you are away. We plan on renting our house out during Austin events at which you can create the renters own passcode which you can track every time they enter the house or don't arrive. This is also great if you have a pet sitter so you know for sure they are showing up for your animals! We recently moved into a house that was fully wired/setup for a home security system. Because of this, I decided that maybe it was a good idea to look into home security. I'm the kind of person who likes to do a lot of research into finding the right solution, and so the process began. I talked with a number of companies, both big and small. I talked with ADT, Guardian, Vivint, and a few local smaller companies, including True Protection. I also read as many reviews as I could find. True Protection was actually the last company I called. They had solid reviews online, so I figured I'd find out what they had to offer. I had a long conversation with John, and it was so refreshing compared to everyone else. The professionalism, honesty, and non-salesman-like personality was a nice break from everyone else. John was incredibly knowledgable about the industry, their competitors, and about their own systems and offerings. He didn't just want to sell another account, he wanted to offer us a great system that was fitting for our family at a very reasonable and competitive price. The decision was easy. Installation day was great. Very personable, very professional. He gladly answered all of my questions, and walked me through everything. I wasn't left with any unanswered questions or any unclarity about how anything worked. I was continually impressed over and over again as I was walked through how the system worked, and how to use it and program it to our needs. The system ended up doing a lot more than I expected it would do, and had some very cool and intuitive features. True Protection clearly values exemplary customer service, and they do a phenomenal job at it. They are not a company that will try and nickel and dime you for different features. They want to get you a great system at a great price, and provide a level of service that you won't get from the other guys. My husband and I purchased our first home this last month and I was SO excited to get an alarm system. My husband works out of town half of the month, so I am home alone more often than not. I am also" that girl" that lays in bed at night, can't sleep because I'm scared, hears a noise, and starts thinking that someone is going to break in and kill me :). We have always rented, so I couldn't have an alarm installed until now. When we closed on the house I was ready to have the alarm installed the day we moved in. I talked to multiple security companies around Austin and was not too thrilled. I decided to go with True Protection after talking to John on the phone. He was very personable and seemed like a genuinely nice guy. He was very flexible setting the appointment, and even came at 6pm on a Tuesday, this really helped since I work from 9am-5pm. I was also worried about the cost, after just buying a house last month we couldn't afford to spend an arm and a leg. John didn't charge me an installation fee, he said he would tack that onto my monthly fee over our 3 year contract and the monthly fees are very low! We also had wiring on our house from the old alarm system that was no longer in use so that helped. He was very quick and had the alarm installed in a couple hours. He even put an additional touch pad in the bedroom after he was already finished that my husband insisted on last minute. I am very happy with the alarm system. I feel so much more comfortable when I leave the house and when I'm there alone knowing there is an alarm system. I also like having the extra touch pad in the bedroom (my husband insisted and I didn't think it was needed) but I am glad we did it. I can turn it on right before I get in bed. I feel so safe and I am sleeping great knowing that if anything happens to me when I am home alone true protection will protect me :)! read more

This is a long overdue review. We had our security system installed by True Protection back in January and were very happy to be dealing with a local company that truly cares about customer service. I first contacted John Jarvis to see if his company can give me a better bid than what ADT was offering. John was very responsive, informative, did not hesitate to match ADT's bid (offering a more advanced system for the same price point), and did not pressure me like other alarm systems salesmen out there. John was present during the installation and sat down with me to answer all my questions, went through the paperwork and the alarm app setup, and gave a basic tutorial of the system. I had John at True Protection setup my home alarm system back in 2017. It was exactly what I was looking for and the process and installation couldn't have been smoother. I ended up putting my home for sale and moving into an apartment while my new home was being built. I reached out to John & Katrina back at True Protection and they got me over to Brinks who helped reduce my monthly payment for a few months. John told me to let him know when my home was complete and he would help get me set back up. I let him know I know that the cameras he installed were left back at my home I sold and he didn't even hesitate to offer to install them at my new home. I told John I preferred a different camera setup which was more expensive but John offered an option I was excited to accept. Fast forward to my new home being complete, I was worried that John wouldn't remember what he offered. I reluctantly reached out to him feeling I would be out of luck but John remembered our conversation and was ready to send someone out within 24 hours! This blew me away, it's rare to have someone be a person of their word. Especially with businesses making promises but John & True Protection proved to me that their 5 star rating isn't fake or bought reviews but they have earned and deserve every singe 5 star review they have received. This review is long overdue but I'm glad I waited. I was very impressed with John Jarvis when I called TrueProtection but when installation time came, he was unavailable (he had a good excuse... his wife was giving birth that day). I was not happy with the team that came to my home and was left with a system that I did not really know how to use. I waited a full year before I called John back. He apologized and explained that the previous guy was no longer working for the company and he sent Ivan over to walk me through the system, especially how to use the app to manage the cameras. Ivan was knowledgeable, patient, and humorous and made me feel completely comfortable. I'm so happy that I gave John the chance to make things right and change my perception.
