We live near Toxic on W 11th but it had been years since we went to eat there. After dinner tonight, I can't believe I waited so long. We ordered a Cali Burger and a Chicken Sandwich tossed in raspberry habanero, along with both sweet potato and regular fries. The food was fresh and delicious. Also, the counter service was great! Ordered our food and drinks and had a seat. They are super clean which impressed me, even the window sills were spotless. :) service was great. We had sweet potato fries.... OMG so good! Salty sweetness. They upsold me on fry sauce which I absolutely did not need! The wings were cooked perfectly. The apricot chipotle wings were the best. I did ask to talk to the manager, she said he was there but never appeared. So watch out for the thick grease spill in the walkway in parking space in front of front door to the right. This is my favorite fried chicken place in Eugene and all of their fried chicken is gluten free! I've only found GF fried chicken one other place in my life and Toxic knocks it out of the park. They're knowledgeable about their menu and allergens, staff is always friendly, the food is always fresh, and I never wait more than 20 minutes (even when it seems like the whole town is there!). Great for takeout and eating there, the drive thru makes it really nice for late night runs. There is also a bar and ample indoor seating to have a beer and sit down with your food. Gluten reduced beer is also available! Though, it'd be rad to have some 100% gluten free beer like Ghostfish or Bierly. Amazing. We've been judging this place for three years every time we'd drive by because of the name and one day saw "grass fed" on the sign which gave us curiosity about the menu. We noticed a lot of Gluten Free options which gave more curiosity. I called assuming they must definitely use crap canola oil or something and it turns out they use rice bran oil which was perfect for us. We popped in at this place on a long road trip. They informed us everything on the menu is gluten free save for their regular hamburger buns, they have gf ones as well. We ordered the simple but tasty hamburger, thin patties so if you like more meat just double it up. Fries were very tasty, crispy but soft inside and salty. Ask for house fry sauce. The salad was a pleasant surprise better than average house salads and super fresh. Wings come with sauce on the side we got the pineapple jerk, tasty but not too much bite. I have previously sworn to one and all that Toxic has amazing food (but for their chicken breast sandwich which is inexplicably embarrassingly-bad-bordering-on-inedible and something I have to go out of my way to warn folks off of). I've always been impressed by their abundant and happy-looking staff and cleanliness. Tonight, I was feeling virtuous and got a veggie salad. It was quite pretty with mixed greens and mushrooms and onions and a pickle slice that seems out of place but in a well-intentioned sort of way. All was good, and I was happy... until I got it home and discovered that this place known for wings and sauces charges $9 for a veggie salad and serves it with a side of cheap and nasty BOTTLED ranch dressing. I adore homemade ranch, but the bottled stuff tastes like chemicals or mayonnaise that has just turned, and it has no business being served at a place whose metaphorical bread and butter are its sauces. (Meanwhile, you can buy a BOTTLE of the scratch made stuff from Papa's Pizza for less than $5 and know a large portion of that is going to do some good in your community.) Too many places are struggling right now. Maybe Toxic is as well, but the increasing misses in their hit-and-miss performance record suggests that it's probably time to find a more reliable place to spend my hard earned and increasingly scarce dining funds. Can still highly recommend the pulled pork fries... for now... but I do NOT recommend you for over any extra $$ for a side of ranch to dip them in. I'm genuinely sad. Especially when considering the businesses that have occupied this space before. Nice polished wood tables and some short bar counters with built-in wireless phone charger pads blew me away! I needed a few minutes to look it all over, and the friendly girl working the counter was excited to hear it was my first time trying their food and recommended several popular options. They also gave samples of a few sauces so I could decide what I wanted. I ended up going with the 6 boneless wings, which were essentially large chicken tenders! The sauces come on the side, which made for easy dipping. I got the pineapple jerk sauce, which the employee said is one of their most popular sauces and contains over a dozen ingredients. It had a great tangy fruity flavor and little spice at the back-end. The chicken was very juicy and large whitemeat chunks. They also gave me ranch, which was tasty with the light naturally spiced wings. Also shout-out to the fact that they have a Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine. They are very fun to use and I always appreciate a restaurant going the extra mile to have a fun option for their customers. Also worth noting that the straws they offers were labeled as 'not plastic' so it seems that that are trying to be good for the environment. I used to only get the boneless, and I like their boneless a lot. But I tried the bone in, and they are outstanding. They are always cooked well and they taste good. I prefer the garlic parm or franks sauces- their super hot sauces aren't as hot as I expected, and the flavor was so so. But you also don't need there crazy hot sauce because the chicken is so good- you want to actually taste it. I've never had a slimy or bad wing here. We got garlic Parmesan wings and Franks Medium Wings, a double mushroom burger on a Keto bun and a double Bacon cheddar burger. Wings were crispy and burgers were juicy. The menu is varied with burgers and chicken sandwiches in addition to the wing selection (both bone-in and bone-out). We counted more than 10 sauce selections ranging from "safe" to "dangerous". My friend and I tried their hottest selection and were pleased. It's not so spicy that it masks any flavor so that all you "taste" is heat, but it definitely has kick. A kick that lands at the back of the throat and causes quite the tickle. The price is higher than a fast food establishment, but the quality of the food is much higher than any fast food as well. Portions are just right - not too much, not skimpy either. Also, at checkout you are asked to tip, which I didn't do but then I saw that there are multiple employees walking around clearing plates and checking on things. The pulled pork slider was flavorful, but the regular burgers are quite small, so you will need to order more than one patty. Our group was unimpressed with the burgers and its flavor.
