Was in town for a tour of the U of O campus and tried this place for lunch. It was a part of 5th District establishment. Parking is a challenge but it was worth it. It was in the upstairs portion of the establishment - an open area with a number of food options (and a pretty cool candy shop). Our order was taken by the owner who was very friendly and welcoming. We built our own Cheeseburger & Chicken Sandwich & Cheesesteak menu item. My chicken sandwich was pretty tasty with the "aioli" sauce but wish it had more pickles (think I got 2). The cheesesteak was good in which the bread was soft but not soggy and great flavoring (although it was ordered without onions (my daughter's failure)). The steak fries were good. I wanted onion rings but was told that it's a "sweet" onion which is not my preference for onion rings. The drinks had great presentation - the seasonal Italian soda (spiced pear & cantaloupe) was a unique combination but was a very good call. Great spot to grab a burger. Walked up and ordered from the bar then grabbed a table. Service was friendly and fast. I ordered a double patty and they only delivered a single. Let them know and it was quickly rectified. Great service and the burgers were cooked perfectly. Ooooo came here for a quick pick me up and ordered the Bees Knees. Amazinggggg, delicious, so refreshing. Everything you want in a cocktail! Highly recommend. Located in a little cute mall in Eugene. Friendly service and great food inside 5th Street Public Market. We went untraditional with chicken sandwiches, and the grilled chicken with garlic mayo, avocado, tomato and pepper Jack was one of the BEST I've had. My daughter had the fried chicken with special sauce, lettuce and pickles and she enjoyed hers too. Definitely recommend the ranch for your fries. I hadn't heard of the Eugene Burger Company but am always on the lookout for more great burger places. Especially in a different city for me. We needed a burger and found Eugene Burger Company in the 5th Street Mall food court area. It's located on the upper level of the small mall along with about 4 other restaurants which shared the common seating area. We had a couple of smashburgers and another in our party had the 1/3 pound burger. The menu walks you through a 4 step process when ordering so you basically customize your burger and sides. I like this option but it makes for a lot of choices and I like it all so it can take me awhile to order. I had my burger with the tots which were weirdly lightly colored. Usually tots are more of a golden brown. These were like a very light brown. They tasted fine though. My wife had sweet potato fries which were served waffle style which is fun. My daughter had the beer battered fries which were my favorite of the three. The smashburgers were fine and weren't the Oklahoma style with onions embedded in the meat so they tasted more like regular burgers. We all enjoyed our food and the service and will definitely return here again. read more

The burger is a good value. When I am paying for bacon I don't like having to deconstruct the burger to find it, and unfortunately that is what I had to do with this burger. I was excited about going back. Both times it was Sunday lunch. Different crew working this time. Not helpful or friendly. I ordered a beer this time. Crew didn't know how to change the TV channel nor were they interested in figuring it out. I was wanting to watch a game. Finally after about 10 minutes they got around to it. I love the casual feel of the 5th Street food court and how easy it was to order and find a spot to sit (not at all busy on an early Saturday evening). I really liked that EBC just has a make it how you like it menu and I think pricing is very fair for what you get. The guy taking our order steered me in the direction of the battered fries over the steak fries and they were awesome! I also love their homemade ranch, somehow "lighter" tasting than others (though I'm sure still not the healthiest option haha). Amazing!! Went 2 weeks ago while visiting a friend in Eugene. It was everyone's first time. We got 3 double smash burgers & 1 double blue cheese burger, fries for everyone. Generously portioned burger & fries, some of the best burgers we've had. Juicy, tasty, and fresh. Peach Italian sodas are a must try too!! We were so impressed by the quality of the ingredients. Hands down the best burger I have ever had. Max is the burger whisperer: 100% on point with the recs: double smash with swiss onion, pickle and the roasted garlic mayo. Tonight was my first visit. All of our smash burgers were dry and although the beef itself tasted like it was good quality it had no detectable seasoning. I ordered mine with cheese and a sauce but yet it had neither. My son's also was missing cheese. His had a blackened overcooked fried egg and it too was missing the cheese, He said the bacon was so hard it hurt his tooth. My husband ordered his with grilled onions and lettuce. It had one sliver of an onion and a quarter sized piece of wilted lettuce.
