The place reminds me of a local restaurant on the coast, where locals can get a good meal. I had the 1/3 pound burger. Since we had to wait the owner made it a half pound burger with cheese and bacon. The staff were very friendly and considerate. When went back last Thursday wanting some burgers. Coming here on a Friday just after the lunch rush was perfect. We were one of a few diners so found a seat easily. There was one person running the front and one running the kitchen. The woman that helped us was genuinely friendly and helpful. We had questions about the shakes, burgers, sides and the 5 pound burger challenge (not that we were going to try it!) and she answered them without making us feel like she's had to answer them a million times. It was refreshing to speak to someone that seemed to enjoy their job and the business they were in. We ordered burgers, mine was the 1/4 pound with pepperjack and I decided to go with the Irish chips. If you like a salty/meaty flavor much like aus jus, you will like these as much as I did. Without the aus jus mess! The burger was good, a basic classic. We also tried the Oregon berry shake. Yum! I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options and I kind of loved that this was the first page of their menu. We noticed that a group of younger kids that came in after us were sticker shocked on the price of the shakes, but keep in mind these are 32 ounces! And totally worth it. I came in here last night with my husband and a friend of ours for dinner. It's confusing where to go. They have a front door, which is closed. A side door, with arrows and signs saying "pick up here" but that's locked. No signs of life anywhere. Wasn't even sure they were open based on this. Had to walk around to the back of the building to a window to be served. Apparently if you didn't call ahead, it's frowned on. Didn't get a welcoming vibe to start with there. We were met at the window by an employee named Anette. We had to ask for a menu, which was begrudgingly handed over, and just one. Three people, one menu. Not much opportunity to really read the menu when sharing and trying to read it upside down or through the person holding it. Meanwhile Anette is just standing there staring at us. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with extra pickles and chips. Husband ordered the bacon bacon bacon burger with fries, and buddy ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich with tots. I'm not big on fries, so I asked about other options. Normally I get a salad and eat a couple of my husband's fries and I'm happy. No fresh salad options here. It's just fry alternatives, basically. So I like chips. Wild Duck has the best. I asked Anette if they were super crispy, and she straight said no. They TRY to get them crispy. How the hell do you try to do something?! But she seriously emphasized the word try. I asked if I had to order them specifically extra crispy, and again, she said they'd try. We got our food and went to find a comfortable place to sit and eat since the restaurant itself is closed due to the plague. I have no opinion on the restaurant itself since we couldn't go in. Once we arrived at a local park to eat and started opening the boxes, I wasn't impressed. Burgers were well done, clearly frozen prior to being cooked. Slathered in mustard. That was the dominant flavor of everything and it was dripping everywhere. Not nearly enough napkins to eat these either. They literally counted out three and put them in the bag. We needed wet wipes when we were done, it was so messy. My buddy's sandwich was chicken tenders on basic bread. A trip to Freddie's and $10, I could have done that! Upon opening our boxes, it was very clear they have issues with their fryer and it not coming up to the correct temperature. It also explained why Anette said they would TRY to get the chips crispy. My chips were sliced so thin, it looked like I was eating an insect wing. Or skin that's been sunburnt and peeled off in a chunk. Fries looked like tiny pale limp dicks flopping around. There was no structure or color to them. My husband has pale skin and red hair, and his skin was darker than his fries! The tots my buddy had were the only fry form that had color to them. But they were just mushy grease bombs that absorbed all the oil in the fryer. Looking at this from the perspective of eating with your eyes first, this was an epic fail on their part. Burgers were edible. Bacon was delicious. The bacon was literally the best cooked and most edible thing in all of our food. All of this fabulousness cost me $55. Three sandwich's/burgers, fries, and two milkshakes. Was it worth that much? Nooooo. Hell no. Not even close. I'll gladly drop that much for burgers at Wild Duck or Cornucopia, hell even Plank Town. The difference is at those restaurants I'm getting fresh food made in house. At Giant Burger for $55, I'm getting frozen food they heated up and assembled, and they couldn't even do it well. It was edible, but so is McDonalds when you're hungry. My best advice is when you get to this place, just keep driving! Fins is like a block away. Go there. You'll thank me. You'll thank me, and so will your wallet. read more

We had a very pleasant and surprising reunion with Giant Burger tonight. Over twenty years ago, we ate there for the last time because it seemed to be going in a direction that didn't appeal to us. Tonight we returned with friends and enjoyed one of the most pleasant diner experiences that we've ever had. We raise beef for a living and the burgers were excellent and very fairly priced. On top of that, service was timely and pleasant. We even met the owner who took time to chat with us for a few minutes as we finished our dinner--in fact she was the one who served us. As small business owners, we understand the sacrifices and effort it takes to make a business work. This one earned our respect and we'll be back to help make that happen. This review, should only be a 1 star, and the reason it's not, is the food is actually really good. The shakes are phenomenal. So why then do I give this such a low score. Well simply, it was a Wednesday, nothing out of the ordinary, got here at 12:20, which is the heart of the lunch rush, I get it but not until 12:40 did we place our order, and not until 1:45 did we get our food. It's a burger, and some tots, not a painting. Why does it take this long to get this food out? I really cannot explain. Was it busy, well kind of, but not 1 hour busy. We were told it had to do with the kitchen being small and only so many things can be cooked at one time. So your telling me that there is only enough room to do one or two burgers at a time?? I really wanted to like this place, as I remember from many years ago that the food was good, but that it took a little while to get the food. This did nothing but confirm the fact that it takes a horribly long amount of time. Again, it took an hour to get a hamburger and some tots. Mind you there is only 6 tables in the entire place, and yes they were full, but with 2 to 3 people at most. I just cannot rationalize that long of a wait for a burger. read more

If you're really hungry, try the 2/3 pounder, my option on my recent visit - this handmade monster with thick cut bacon, no onions and cheddar cheese almost got the best of me, almost. Juicy, flavorful and nicely seasoned it's a two hands required burger. I added a side of their great Onion Rings, cooked to a perfect golden brown with an awesome crunchy coating and ranch dressing, these rings are crazy good. The huge Oreo milkshake was more than enough to share and stuffed full of chunks of Oreo cookie pieces, thick rich and creamy - so thick it's served with spoon and a straw. If you're eating there they also have half a dozen or so beers on tap, I made a note for my next visit. There's gaming on premises, to go with your burger and beer! I had a hankering for a big juicy burger and found it here! I ordered the one with bacon avocado pepper jack and jalapeños. So good!! They also put cream cheese on it which was the perfect balance to the jalapeños. The tots were hot and crispy and the service was friendly and quick. Really great burgers. I always get the Americana. It's a 1/3 lb., hamburger with lettuce onion tomato pickle and double American cheese. It does not disappoint. The fried sides (fries, crinkle fries, rings) are good. They have Bud on draft and a real tillamook ice cream cone for your littles for less than $2. There would be four or even five stars but the other sandwiches, Pattie-melt, for example, just don't work for some reason. Burgers are definitely five star though. read more

If you think that a beer bettered hamburger sounds sinfully delicious, you're not wrong... I highly recommend indulging in it. The building is very small and outdated and seating is very limited it was Great food, they only have one waitress but she is very attentive. Seriously terrific burgers and the fries are the real deal. I ordered the 1/3 lb burger it was moist and yummy, my husband ordered the PHAT Bubba which is a burger in between two grilled cheese sandwiches, he said it was incredibly delicious one of his top favorite burgers.
