Short: Super friendly, delicious, great sizes, and so many options! Visited week of Sept 26th 2022. When I arrived, there was a queue of 3 people. The register staff was super friendly and polite. Along with patience, as my friend has never been to a Five Guys. They served us our Milkshakes as we waited. There was pick up/online orders, but we still received our food within 10 mins. You can pick up some peanuts as you wait as well! The location looks to be well staffed, had 3 cooking, 1 cashier who later cleaned thoroughly the dining room. [Food, Shakes, & Cost]: I got a "little cheeseburger" [$7.95], regular fries, and a milkshake [$6.25]. My friend got the "little hamburger" [$6.95] and milkshake. Mix-ins to the milkshakes are included in the price/free! [You can even mix in **bacon** into your shake] The little cheeseburger was the size of a normal fast food burger (about the size of your palm & some), so bigger than little! The only cheese they have is Cheddar. I added grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, jalapenos (raw), green bell peppers (raw), BBQ Sauce, and Mayo. The beef was fresh and grilled right there to view. On a sesame bun, Five Guys burgers are really what you imagine a burger to traditionally/stereotypically look like. Overall, the taste was delicious and it wasn't overly greasy. Just got a bit messy with all the fixings not with grease. The fries are served in a drink cup. Which I find cute and original. Five Guys uses peanut oil to fry their fresh and locally harvested potatoes. They post in the front by the line where the potatoes came from and even display peanuts [and peanut oil] in the restaurant. The fries were hot!! It wasn't super greasy but did have oil to them, but they probably literally just came out of the fryer. I found my batch was a bit overly dark, but it wasn't a disgusting burnt crisp. Their fries still held a good crunch but softness. [Shakes]: The milkshake was chocolate and malted milk [!!!!]. I really hunt and love malt shakes, they just taste different with almost a different consistency as well. It truly did taste like a chocolate malt shake. (I even saw a clump of malt powder at the bottom). My friend got Banana. I am happy to say it was not that [gross] artificial tasting Banana but *fresh* fruity banana taste. Overall the consistencies were great and of good quality in taste. I just wish it was a tad bit chocolat-ier and for the price I was expecting it to be a bit bigger. What happened here, we have been numerous times but today was AWFUL! We both ordered single bacon burgers with mushrooms, lettuce and tomato. What we got was two double burgers with two 1" pieces of burned bacon and maybe 2 or 3 slices of mushrooms, no lettuce on either burger. Neither of the burgers had any seasoning making them VERY bland. Our fries that were usually a plentiful amount were scant to say the least with no salt at all! Bland and soggy. I mean, for what you're paying for, it sure is hot, greasy, in your face, om nom nom nom's. But you are indeed paying for it. And for what you pay for it. It just misses the mark of a good burger. The meat is bland, and the toppings help to mask it, but it's not there. I do appreciate that it is made fresh, nut 10 mins to wait for a paper bag of food when there literally was nobody else in the restaurant was a little odd. As was the fact it was served in a paper bag? Wouldn't it be more beneficial to have, like, idk, trays or something for dine in? Unless that's part of the pizazz. The brown bag special. Not too sure what the low reviews are for but I have appreciated the friendly and hardworking staff. We went in on a Saturday afternoon and it was fairly busy and there was one person cleaning the dining area, one at the register, and two handling the food. Big props to the girls handling the food. They looked like they were working hard and preparing the orders quickly. They are all super friendly and made it a great experience. The food was filling and I love how you can add as much as you want. My only complaint is that I didn't get as much BBQ sauce as I wanted but the food was still great and they give an ample amount of fries. Great experience. read more

I came in here with my husband last night. We had to go to Best Buy, so we figured it was something different than what we typically eat. I'd been here once shortly after they opened, and it wasn't a pleasant experience. Like, I got so sick before I even walked out the door, and had to stop at Target for stomach medicine. Customer service wasn't exceptional either. So I had basically boycotted it since then. My husband suggested it a few times since then and I always refused. Last night I figured, what the hell? Let's try again. The customer service has improved significantly. Austin was our cashier. He was a nice kid, who actually listened to our requests, and they were fulfilled. We waited a while, as there was a million loud college students in there from various sports teams. Luckily we didn't have trouble finding a table. We both ordered a bacon cheeseburger. Mine had extra pickles on it, and my husband's no mushrooms. I love the way they organize it. Each sandwich labeled 1,2,3, etc, with the receipt showing which is which. Perfect. No questions. Now, every time I order extra pickles in a fast food place, there's like one extra pickle. God help anyone that forgets my pickles. Here, there was a good amount. It was obvious they followed the extra pickle directive. High points there. My husband noticed they have peanuts. He loves peanuts. We ordered a large fry, which was huge. Like, the size of a soda cup. Then they pile even more into the bag. My husband commented that they gave new meaning to the term bag fries. Lol. The food tasted pretty good. I had no complaints. I don't see what everyone raves about though. It wasn't really memorable to me. Like, I remember the bag fries comment from my husband and the extra pickles. There wasn't anything else to rave about, really. Would I return? Probably. There's nothing bad about my experience here last night, so I can't complain. If you're looking for a fast food upscale burger that actually is good without the snobbery and if you're not allergic to peanuts, this place is for you. Order a single patty with all the fixings and get small on the fries--because the portions are big! Expensive, but good. I first heard about Five Guys because my brother had went to this place. So when I finally went, it was about satisfying my curiosity. And unlike some restaurants that claim to have good burgers, this restaurant actually lives up to its claim. I ordered two bacon cheese burgers and fries. For starters my order was wrong and only received one of the two burgers i ordered and the toppings on the burger i had received were wrong. When I talked to the manager about it she was talking to me as if I was stupid and was in a round about way implying that I was the reason the order was wrong because the employee "read it back to me" which i told her that yes she did read it back to me BUT CORRECTLY at the register with two burgers on the order which is why i was confused to why i had not received the second one. She wasn't listening to what I was telling her and had to repeat myself several times. She then became visibly annoyed and confused when i asked for a refund for the burger because we "got the one we paid for" even though all the toppings on the burger except for one (the jalapeños) were wrong. She was really rude to me but friendly to the white guy that followed after me whose order was also messed up. Surprise surprise. Also The bread was EXTREMELY soggy and falling apart so i threw it in the trash. And i know you will see this, if not you than the district manager: As a manager you should not talk or behave the way you did with me or any other customer for that matter. Stopped by here on the way through Eugene recently. 5 guys is a chain that serves burgers and is known for serving roasted peanuts that you can throw the shells on the floor if you want. Anyway, the burgers are fresh and hot and juicy made to order with whatever toppings you would like. Pretty decent burgers, but you have to order ala cart. So when you add the fries and a drink, it starts to get up there in price. The fry serving sizes are pretty huge, definitely serve more than one person, so take that into account when ordering. Overall, pretty decent and you know what you are going to get. This visit, the service was pretty slow and they weren't busy. It seems that you can order online now, so I guess there were orders in front of me, but this isn't a burger you want to wait to eat in my opinion, the juices will make the bun soggy over time. read more

Delicious burgers and fries for a chain restaurant. The burgers are large, even the junior burgers and the fact that you can choose from a huge list of toppings is awesome. Unfortunately, the pickles and tomatoes were not cooked with the burgers so they tasted a little out of place. The fries were really well seasoned, crispy and fresh. Went here on Friday night because I had been at a kids party at Skateworld and it was my guys suggestion. I normally say no to Five Guys. I just don't dig the taste too much, and my last experience at the 7th street location was enough to make me say no. It was filthy. I understand they should taste okay because essentially you, the customer picks out every condiment that goes on the burger. I just think maybe it is the flavors of the brands? I am not sure. Just something I am not a fan. I mean I will eat them if I am starving, and for sure a step above the McD's and the other garbage out there. The bathroom on Friday night was not too clean, but they were pretty slammed when we were there. I felt like I was in a bucks, and had to hold my breath while in there. If I could give zero stars I would. I'm a frequent Five Guys customer so this was supposed to be a safe bet for good food on my drive home from Seattle to San Jose, Ca. I placed an order at 9:30ish for 9:45pm pickup since they close at 10pm. The website was accepting orders until 9:45 so I paid for my order including tip. We arrived at 9:45 to locked doors and saw employees cleaning up. Knocked on the door and stood there while 3 employees glanced over but completely ignored me. For the next 10 minutes I continued to knock while trying to wave any of the 4 people over. By now 4 separate customers had come and gone which is wasted business from them closing early. I then had to shout through the glass that I already paid for my order. The closest thing to an acknowledgement was one of the employees actually laughing at me. At one point another one came over to the door to mop the area but wouldn't respond when I said I already paid for my order. Worst experience at five guys. First of all the guy in front of us waited forever for his food just to find out it sitting on top of the fry thing the whole time (pretty sure he was an Uber eats guy). Our burgers didn't have any mustard mayo or ketchup on them even though we asked for it and mine was in a bowl and they didn't put in or offer silverware. Despite being cooked to a uniform grey (they don't do medium here), the burger was remarkably juicy! Impressive. The jalapeno slices were not from a pickle jar, but sliced fresh. Yes, it was messy. And delicious. Worth the obscene calorie count. But, but, BUT I'd be remiss, or more to the point, seriously dense and/or idiotic if I didn't mention the french fries. Quite easily the best fries I've ever had anywhere. Not just "fast food" fries. But best fries ever. Hey you, reading this. Yeah, you. You're probably thinking I'm a shill, working for the Five Guys. Not true. Go read some of my other reviews. I don't normally use superlatives in my reviews. These fries are something else. Fresh, hot, crispy-but-not-burnt. They literally have the best burgers in town, with huge portions of fries, made from regionally sourced potatoes (avoid, if you're allergic to peanuts, since they're fried in peanut oil!!!). I have two complaints about this location: 1. It is very loud due to poor acoustics creating an echo, and 2. it's difficult to access, since the parking area can be easily congested and Gateway can be super busy at all times. read more

Sure...You can have all 4, but until you get this "soggy bun" epidemic under control I'm not giving the 5th star back! I like to take advantage of the online ordering. I think it's fun even, you get online, pick your burger, pick all the condiments (light, heavy, extra etc...). You can even order double cheese at no extra cost. Awesome right? Come on, we all love a cheesy burger.... It was kinda funny, I placed my order at 8:45. They close at 9:00. I got there at 8:58, as I was walking up to the door, some girl locked it, and walked off. I looked in through the door thinking someone was gonna open it, but that certainly didn't happen. BUT, I did catch her as she opened the exit door to clean it. I explained I placed an internet order and wanted my food I had pre-paid for. She let me in. After getting by the security system I grabbed my food and walked back out. I spent 10x as long trying to get in than I did getting out. Back on track, the bun issue. I've had the bun support the whole burger and it be great, other times, it comes out a bit soggy. The fries had the perfect mix of crispy little nub fries, long uber fries, and the softy ones that you KNOW you like. This IS a burger joint. Stuff comes in a greasy brown bag. You get MESSY. You NEED napkins. OTHER people eat here. There are NOT salads. You DON'T get a waiter. If you're looking for that, don't come here. If you're looking for a epic, juicy, real beef, messy burger to gob in your face - this is it. Yes, it's crowded. Yes, there are screaming kids (but shouldn't you be glaring at the parents of said kids? How is that the place's fault?) Yes, there are...peanut shells on the floor. Don't wear flip flops. People are talking of $7 - $10 for a burger AND fries like it's a ton of cash. It's not $3, no. But it IS real ingredients, many local; and I would MUCH rather eat here, and pay a pretty good price, than eat the dog food other places pass off as "burgers" for 3 bucks. SO PEANUT SHELLS ON THE FLOOR ARE A GOOD THING? I have heard a lot about how awesome Five Guys is so I tried it. First the decor was horrible. The restaurant is hideously decorated with peanut shells all over the filthy floor. I almost slipped and fell walking to the counter. I do like that they have the calorie count next to each item on the menu so you can see how fast you are killing yourself with the food items. I ordered a cheeseburger and when I unwrapped it, it was a huge soaking wet mess! I think there was more mayonaise than meat. I have had a better burger at McDonalds, at least their hamburgers aren't soaking wet. The fries were also confusing. They were soggy and burnt. They had an ok taste but they were just limp and oily. I do not see how anyone could actually eat in this establishment because it was horribly loud and smokey as well. They need better ventilation for the grill area. I could not sit around dirty peanut shells, loud music, louder talking, ugly red and white decor, and actually enjoy my meal. This is definitely a "to-go" establishment. The one good thing I can say is that at least the meat itself, once all the mayo was scraped off, was tasty. If you do go there, get your condiments on the side and get it to go. read more

Not sure what all the hype is about. True, the staff is very friendly and courteous, and they seem like they enjoy themselves. However the food is nothing to write home about. Everything was fresh and made to order and had good flavor with the exception of the fries which were drowning in salt, almost inedible. This last part was unfortunate because it was a very generous portion of fries. The thing is, it is very expensive without really bringing the wow. Two burgers and an order of fries and a soda set us back about $20. At this price there is nothing exceptional happening here. I have had better burgers and I have had worse burgers. I have had bigger burgers and I have had smaller burgers. I have had more expensive burgers and cheaper burgers. That puts Five Guys right in the middle so to speak but they got the better part of the middle for the most part in regards to their burgers. As for the fries, the regular fries taste good while the Cajun fries are too spicy for me. Your tastes may vary. The cold drink selection is Coke products so they're good. No milkshakes are sold at Five Guys so if that's important to you, you'll have to go elsewhere. Service time during a pretty busy period was relatively quick. The workers and manager that my friend and I interacted with were friendly enough. I would have given Five Guys four stars but their place is so damned noisy that it takes a lot of enjoyment from eating one's meal. We went to Five guys on 4/1 after having a really bad experience at another restaurant in the same parking lot. As always the burgers were fresh (cooked in front of you fresh) the toppings were great, some of the best fries in the business, and the staff was helpful and friendly. At the end of our visit, the owner of the restaurant came in and we complimented him on the friendliness of the staff, the freshness of the food and just the overall good impression that going to Five Guys gives. read more

I never thought I would be leaving a review for Five Guys on yelp... I typically would never rate fast food places at all, and much less with 5 stars... but... My boyfriend and I came here last night for dinner. It wasn't the first time I've had it. I've had it plenty. It usually always tastes the same and I'm always happy with it. We walked in last night and there was a decent crowd, staff was nice, burger was good and the fries were amazing as usual. I'm leaving this review because when I walked in last night I saw that Five Guys had added something to their menu that I've been saying they needed for YEEEAAAARSSS!!!! I've been waiting so patiently for Five Guys to get milkshakes... and the day has come!!!!! I'm not kidding, I died of happiness. They have a lot of flavors to choose from and the machine is right up front, you can see them mixing. I got chocolate. When they handed it to me my first thought was "wow, this isn't thick at all..." it seemed more runny and then I thought my happiness was shot. I took a drink, and what the heck, it was SO good!! I wanted a burger without a hassle so I tried the online ordering. It was great! Ordered with all the details handled easily, ketchup etc. Np problem. You can even choose a time to pick it up. I ordered 2 hours ahead of my pickup time. Just made the whole thing easy. I walked in and up to the counter where they were just finishing my burger & fries. In & Out in less than 3 min. Their burgers are good, you can build them any way you like without any hassle at all. I like that. Their fries are really good and you always get a ton of them. I don't care to eat inside.
