TJMaxx is one of my favorite stores. I come to this location about 1-2x/month.However, this place needs to vamp up it's merchandise. There's not enough clothing, shoes, and home goods for the space. I feel like it could be better maximized and the new items replenished quicker. Love that there's always parking and in a busy shopping area. read more

Racial profiling at its finest ! My mother and I were in simply looking to see if they had the golden girls canvas photos we've seen online. All to our surprise we began feeling the presence of a middle age heavy set gentlemen follow us around pretending to shuffle through merchandise in different aisles. We then proceed to look at shoes being that I needed a new set of shoes for work. We head to the front to checkout and instantly see the same gentlemen from earlier eyeing me in line as my mother waited for me outside the line. The " security/ loss prevention" gentlemen then stands by the exit door clapping his hands loudly and staring at me as I wait to checkout. I was very misjudged on their part. I've given them Zero reasons to even have an inkling that I was committing theft in any sort other than being black. Sad to see the location I once adored turn into such an uncomfortable experience as a shopper . I use to love shopping here when I worked at yogurtland downstairs a few years ago. I would love to know if France the head of shops on lake security is still working to report such blatant ignorance. read more

Out of all of the TJ Maxxs' I've been to, I think this one is my favorite. Since this store is located of off Lake Ave in Pasadena, they have the best selection of items. I've gotten so many good things at this store. My latest score was a pair of Vintage Paige Demin that's currently being sold on their website for $225, I got them here for $69!! They have the Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo here and the deep conditioner from that line here for $7.99 when the normal price is $18.99!! Even got a beautiful Ivanka Trump saddle bag here for $60, when the price is originally $225. The intimates and PJs, Juniors, Jewelry and home goods part - all amazing. If you know what you want and you know what you're searching for here, you'll score some great deals. Easy parking right next to Macy's. The customer service is great here too! Gotta admit, initially shopped to pick up some home & kitchen knick knacks. the location is top notch (just down the block for me) & i had a new apartment to fill up. Then i noticed, Hey! they got a pretty good selection of clothes. it has become my go-to for summer bikinis & random freepeople pieces. the premier designer are a hit or miss, but they always are well stocked with Vince, tory burch, alice & olivia. the jewelry cases are always restocked with plenty of swarovski, marc jacobs, juicy, & some other brands i'd notice at Macy's like betsey johnson. the guy's section is small, but well stocked with basics such as undershirts & socks. this entire store is Well organized, short lines, & very very clean. WOW!! they officially have everything i need on Lake!! =) *too bad i don't live right there..* my favorite places all in on street (and on the same side of the street too...haha) Trader Joe's, Souplantation, Peet's, ...and now TJ MAXX!!! i don't remember what was here before. you have to take the stairs to the 2nd floor or the 2R elevator button. so, the new thing for TJ Maxx is their rewards programs. i am wary of signing up for too many credit cards at many stores. they now have TJX Rewards Access which is free to join. you use the card every time you shop similar to grocery card rewards. there are benefits like special events, grand openings, and other things you can win. it's free...look at for it (or ask) at the counter. read more

This is my 2nd favorite TJMaxx in the CA for its products. It's brand namess, styles, store layout, clearance prices, and selection make it number 1, but it allows dogs to sit on products is horrible. I am watching a dog sit on a rug, that the person is not buying. Gross. That got mandatory star reductions. The dog proceeds to gnaw on the store shelves. The shopper proceeds to layout more carpets for her dog to layon. Ok. Just where are the store clerks? read more

I had had poor service here in the past but this took the cake. The dressing room attendant called and suggested to the checkout person that I was taking merchandise. I was embarrassed and will never go into this store again. The attendant had seen me in the dressing room and I had showed her that I had one piece of merchandise. She said that's fine and gave me no number. I was the only one in the store as it was opening. She called and told the clerk that I had taken it as I had given her no number back. I was only in the store five minutes. I purchased the item because I was in a hurry but I will not go back. The attendant was Cynthia. The key holder Becki. Incident handled very badly. The key holder told me she would speak with her but no apology. There are lots of TJMAXX stores. Go somewhere else. read more

LOVE! Their merchandising is soo great here, it makes you want to buy up everything. And if I'm not mistaken, certain items they have Ross will also have but TJ Maxx will be cheaper by a couple dollars (gasp!). Not a big and strong women's shoe selection and they do not carry kid's shoes either, only babies :-( BUT they do have lots of great Michael Kors purses. Plenty of parking in the structure and roof. And after your shopping fix, you can go down to the South Lake shops for lunch at Corner Bakery and dessert at Coldstone or Beard Papa ;-) read more

Simply for the fact that there is no changing table in the women's restroom. That's absolutely unacceptable. Had to change my children on the sink - however, they only have air dryers (no paper towels) and the countertop was soaked from various people washing their hands. Completely inconvenient! I love browsing TJ Maxx and this particular one is the best I've ever been to. I scored a gorgeous Pour La Victoire satchel for a great price and the general bag selection is really high end. I passed by a few Givenchy's on display and many more fashion house labels. Parking is great! The parking structure is free, and no validation is needed. Macy's is located downstairs and there is an array of stores just across the street (Anthropologie, Pier One, Aaron Brothers... etc). I love that they offer gorgeous selections to people with high end taste. It's a wonderful haven of finely made materials, gorgeous quality bags and wallets and your day-to-day awesome finds for clothing. Great experience! read more

11/9/2012 Right...so it's all fun and games until you make a return at this store. I often have to shop in a hurry, with enough time to gather items, but not enough time to try them on. I try on at home, returning the items that don't work - tagged, original receipt, within 30 days, etc - no shenanigans here. So...I don't appreciate when a store makes what should be a straightforward return into a Federal case. First, the cashier took my bag away from the counter, out of my sight, saying she needed to check if these are TJM items. Huh? She eventually returned, confirming that they are indeed from TJM (duh); more nonsense with the manager meant that it took 25 minutes before the return was processed. The manager apologized and said that this is a new procedure for this store. While they hassled me, they also hassled other customers, which is the *only* reason I didn't go nuclear. I stayed calm because I knew I'd never step inside that store again. I see them working: make it easy to purchase and hard to return - that'll keep your sales artificially high. Great new TJ Maxx in Pasadena -- opened just a few weeks ago. It's located on the 3rd floor and you can get there by driving up to the 3rd floor lot or walking up the stairs. Big and spacious area with a good selection. Travel section is on the sparse side compared to other TJ's but may get larger later on. Overall, a solid addition to Pasadena's shopping lane on Lake Ave. read more

This is the most organized and best TJ Maxx ever. They always have designer handbags at very discounted prices. I love browsing through the clearance section for random things for just a few dollars. The staff here are also particularly friendly and helpful. The dressing room ladies always have a smile on their face. I can't wait to go back to see what goodies I can find. read more

Hello my Yelpies, I can't believe I've never knew of TJ MAXX. Please don't laugh but it's the sad truth. Parking was very easy since they have an underground parking lot, so that was very convenient, best part is that it was for FREE too. You can't really expect much from TJ MAXX especially when it comes to organization, but I've got to say this place was actually pretty organized. I never knew how much stuff they have until I came here. I've been wanting to have some new warm leggings for the winter and I was so happy to see that they have Steve Madden leggings for $4.99. What can be better than this deal? I definitely grabbed 3. Also I do like how they have really good brand shampoos and conditioner for low price. I've always been a little iffy to buy it from target but once I saw they have it for half the price I can't leave without grabbing a few bottles. This place is definitely extremely crowded with a bunch of stuff but if you have the patient to dig through everything you might just find some gold in the crazy tornado. Overall, 4 stars for service, 5 stars for their stuff, 4 for environment and 3 for atmosphere. Will come back if I ever need more leggings or shampoos. read more

TJ Maxx is the accessories version of Marshalls (same company like Old Navy & the Gap). If you like bags, jewelry, knick-knacks & things for the home, come here over Marshalls. If you are more clothes-minded, go to Marshalls. I prefer the latter but I'm lazy so instead of high-tailing it to the nearest Marshalls (a short drive east on the 210), I'll pop over here every now and again in the hopes of finding the great deals I usually find at the big M. This store in particular doesn't have the best shoe selection and have a larger section dedicated to pricier, designer clothing that seems a little out of place in a discount store. Occasionally I'll find a top or a pair of jeans, but it's not as often as I would at Marshalls. TJ Maxx generally has less racks of clothes to make room for the hefty amount of accessories and odds n' ends. Not a junk store by far, really good quality stuff if you're into the goods. In terms of housewares, sheets, quilts, etc...this place is worth a visit. Usually get my yoga/workout equipment and travel accessories here. I've visited several TJ Maxx locations and this is one of the brighter, more organized stores. The layout is a bit awkward; if entering from Lake you'll have to climb up a couple of flights of stairs or take the elevator (I heard this is b/c this spot was originally supposed to be a movie theater) to get to the main (only) floor. If you exit on the other side of the store, you'll be able to walk across the lot to Macy's. If you're out shopping the stores on Lake, TJ Maxx is worth popping in for a visit. If you have the patience to scavenge around, you may find some hidden treasure. read more

Grand Opening Day opened at 8:00 a.m. Unfortunately it was on a Sunday when Kaiser Permanente decided to host a run/walk/bike event early in the morning. There were road closures throughout the city of Pasadena from early morning through the afternoon. So after my 8:00 a.m. attempt in anticipation to check out the new store, I decided to try again later since I couldn't get past road closures in the perimeter surrounding TJ Maxx in the early morning. I arrive around 1:30 p.m. wondering where the entrance to the store was. I parked at Trader Joe's parking lot and shot up to the 3rd floor, walked past Breakthrough Fitness and couldn't see a thing. Sure, I felt stupid but there was NO SIGNAGE as to WHICH WAY TO WALK. I even called the new store to find out where the entrance was and the associate who picked up the phone couldn't answer my question--THANKS FOR NOTHING! So for those of you looking to visit, park at the former Borders parking structure and the entrance is on the rooftop floor (parking structure south of Macy's on Lake). I finally find the new store, walk in and *BAM* I was overwhelmed by how many people were in the store and how humongous and gigantic the store was--the biggest I've ever been to. The store is definitely neater and cleaner than most other TJ Maxx's. There were extra and and additional regional staff on hand to oversee the first few days/weeks of the new store. End of lines were clearly marked and the line was no joke--but the wait didn't take long either. They passed out water bottles and candy to keep us happy and had sales associates walk through the lines to help customers with removing security tags before arriving at the registers. This is the best TJ Maxx I have ever been to. TJ Maxx on Lake always has the best selection of high end clothing for a great deal. All departments have a good amount to choose from. I frequent the home and shoe section most often, but always end up leaving with a large bag of items from different sections. TJ Maxx has really stepped up their game in general with their new brand identity, but this store has really impressed me in terms of its selection. This store totally reminds me of shopping around Downtown Seattle with my fiancé on a windy day. Been here couple times to shop discounted merchandise like home goods, kitchen, office, beauty, travel, etc. I've been to 2 other location and my best one would be this Pasadena TJ Maxx. The reason I like Pasadena is has huge selection, mostly new, well organized, easy to find and has stuff that I would buy. I do appreciate that they have a parking structure next to it and it is free! On the other hand the other 2 locations that are closer to my area are horrible. Why? 1. Messy 2. un-organized 3. 85% are broken/damaged 4. unappealing 5. low on staff 6. slow cash register 7. leaves spilled liquid/lotion on the counter read more

They didn't give me ANY hassle at all. So obviously, this store has a lame manager. I've always found stuff here although the store is not as big as other locations. Maybe consider this a "mini" store, which will get you in and out in a flash. Parking is horrible though, be very careful while driving through the garage...cars come out from nowhere, especially on the outdoor terrace near Macy's. Friendly staff who greet you upon entering the store and leave you in peace as you peruse the aisles. I don't like the presence of the security guard...makes one feel like a criminal for shopping there. read more

Tired of people bringing in their dogs, it's not PetsMart. On one occasion, a woman's dog pissed on a display tower. I notified the cashiers but they did nothing. On another occasion, while trying to shop, a man's dog barked non stop for over 15 minutes and he never tried to get the dog to stop. Tonight I was in shopping and a woman came up the stairs with a yellow lab and the first thing he did was stick his nose in the display of packaged food and start licking the packages, she did nothing but watch her dog. I told the cashiers and they did NOTHING!!! Don't buy any food or anything on the lower shelves at this store, unless you want dog urine and dog spit on your stuff. read more

This place is huge and so much nicer than any other TJ Maxx I have been to. This location is on the top floor of a parking structure across from Macy's. Weird location. If my mom hadn't taken us, I don't think we would have found it. Once inside, the store is giant! It is also very clean and new inside which was nice. The store is organized into departments and the wracks have signs on them for what piece of clothing is primarily on them, but some wracks and areas definitely lack organization. While I didn't find what I was looking for, my husband was able to find a great deal on some golf shorts, a couple shirts and a new travel neck pillow. read more

I love the location of this TJMaxx, the location alone gets 5 stars. The reason I'm giving it a 3 star is for the customer service I received or rather didn't receive from the jewelry counter. I went in early and browsed around, not once did the older lady with an accent (maybe Russian) acknowledge me. She was helping a man with his watch but, a simple hello.... He walks away, her co worker (older black lady) comes up, she doesn't acknowledge me either but they carry on about how she's been sick and chit chat about cold recipes. The man comes back, black lady tells him hello. I felt invisible, at this point I'm irritated and didn't want to even ask to see the ring in the case because I felt very insignificant, maybe because I was in my yoga pants and no make up, hair in a bun? I was ready to purchase the earrings and ring if it fit, but I decided to just walk away and take my money elsewhere. A hello goes a long way when you work customer service! read more

This is the best TJ Maxx ever! Not only is it new and clean, the clothes are organized so well. PLUS, they have the best selection of premium designers for really cheap. When I worked up the street, I would come several times a week and dig through their clearance rack, and I was able to find so many $200+ tops for $35. Yes, it was rare, but when it happened, it felt amazing! Their shoes selection is not very good, and the men's section is not great either. But, I think this place is great. I miss it. read more

Let me start this review by saying that I LOVE TJ Maxx and Marshalls. But for those of you that want better service, I would recommend hitting up the other sister stores around the area. Out of all the TJ Maxx that I have been to, including out of state ones, this one has by far the worst service you will ever receive. However, I will have to admit that they do have a decent selection of clearance goods, but be ready for attitude when you ring your item up. I have never had a sales associate smile at me or let alone even hand me my items after purchase. They just put it in the bag and leave it next to them. Many times I would knock over things because they expected me to reach in and grab my items. However, I understand that many times sales associates might be new to the job so I never complained and these things happen. However, I have had the worst experiences with one of the managers/supervisors. She is normally standing at the back of the cashiers and will be called to the cash register, if someone needs to complete a return. My first incident happened when she was working the cash register and double charged me for one of the handbags I purchased. I did not notice until after I paid and was about to walk out the store. Luckily, I did not exit and went straight back to her about the incident. She did not apologize ONCE or even acknowledge her mistake. She simply opened the cash register, shoved me my refund, and walked away. I am thoroughly amazed at how that type of customer service promoted her to manager/supervisor. All in all if you are looking for some cheap deals, there are many other TJ Maxxs around the area that will treat you with better service. Also, please check your receipts before you leave the store! I have been charged double more than once at this location! read more

Poor customer service. I'm just getting around to leaving my review but it's been on my mind long enough for me to recount my experience at this location. I made a purchase about a month ago. I purchased an oversized Betsy Johnson make-up bag and as I was waiting for the clerk to check me out, I realized she was thoroughly inspecting every pocket of the bag. No, she wasn't looking for the sensor, she had already removed that from the bag. As she opened every zipper and shuffled the stuffing paper to check for items,I stood there mortified as every customer in line could see that she was checking to make sure I didn't sneak anything in that bag. I was with my 1 year old and so embarrassed that she would assume I was a thief. I get that around the holidays theft can be a problem, but I wonder what it was about me that made her suspect I would hide something in that bag. I've purchased bags at this store before and have never had any clerk inspect my purchase to check for merchandise. I suggest your store comes up with a less humiliating way to crack down on theft. The inspection lasted so long, or at least it felt that way, that I lost my patience and told her not to worry, that I had not hidden anything in there and stormed away. Imagine, she had me sign, gave me my receipt and CONtINued to inspect the bag!!! read more
