Not sure about the stores - I see a few but I didn't really go around the mall. However I can say it's a good and safe place to park if you want to wander around the area as this is centrally located. read more

This outdoor shopping center is very nice, clean, and inviting, yet there are hardly any open businesses, as it appears most have left for whatever reason. What remains are empty storefronts. It would be great if the property management company could somehow attract businesses to return here, as this is a prime location on very busy Colorado Boulevard. read more

We went to the escape room in the afternoon. Maybe because of the heat, the whole place seemed empty. I also went to the vintage store and seemed like these two places are the most popular in Paseo. We got a parking validation from the Escape room. We had a great time. read more

All the stores close so early, even on a Friday night. A very dead outdoor shopping venue. They have a couple food spots but nothing noteworthy. Parking is not free of course, but you can get it validated at certain stores. read more

There are hardly any shops here. I would say it's at least 80% empty. They have a DSW, Yard House, and a couple other shops. They also have a good size antique shop. Although it is fairly clean, there's really nothing much else here. Also despite having my parking "validated" after spending $100+, I was still charged for parking. Definitely felt like a rip off. If you're looking for a mall to go to walk around, this definitely is not the place. read more

I was shown what was advertised as a one-bedroom apartment for nearly $3,000 per month, but it was actually more of a studio or junior apartment. In my view, a true one-bedroom should have a fully enclosed bedroom with walls and a door for privacy. Another major issue was the parking. The assigned parking space was located three floors below the building, and the layout made access unnecessarily difficult and inconvenient. Overall, I felt the listing was misleading and did not accurately represent what was being offered. I would encourage prospective renters to carefully verify the unit layout and parking arrangements before signing a lease. I used to make several visits to Pasadena back in the early 2000's. I remember when this upscale outdoor mall opened and replaced the original mall. The Paseo is located on Colorado Blvd and covers three city blocks. It has several retail stores, restaurants, a movie theater and condominiums above. It is a nice place to go for a walk and do some shopping. I enjoy it more at night when the lights are on. Sadly, the anchor stores have all closed. Across the street is the Pasadena Convention Center, Civic Auditorium and Ice-Skating Center. Parking for The Paseo is underneath just off Colorado Blvd. read more

Parking nightmare. Ok so the prices have been jacked up to $1.50 every half hour which is substantial but my main gripe is the lack of pay machines. From where I parked, I had to walk about a block to find the one damn machine! Ridiculous!!! read more

This mall has been around a long time and is an outdoor mall with maybe 20 to 30 places, including restaurants and some shops. I believe they added some condos or apartments here, which reduced the size. Some of the places were closed as well. They have a Yardhouse, El Cholo, and Rubios. I was surprised to find this mall while walking around old Pasadena. They also have the old antique mall here along with shops like Brighton, H&M, K Lyn, Bed Bath and Beyond. Gosh, I just hate writing this review. I remember when the Pasadena Mall was taken apart to build The Paseo. It gained a new life for a while, and now it's going through the same cycle where it's just a ghost. Most of the storefronts are empty. Just a few restaurants remain. It might be due to the shift in work culture, shopping habits, economy, many other factors. I walked through it to get to the theatre and just got sad. I hope someone can breathe new life into it. read more

What a dump! The erosion and removal of businesses has sucked the life out of what was once a promising mix of retail, restaurants, and I believe residential. Now El Cholo has left. Yardhouse is still there but very few other places remaining. Even with validation, it cost me 3 bucks for the privilege of parking in the garage, where the elevator worked going up, but later that evening did not work going back down. Wow, i cannot believe I have not yelped this mall yet. I have come here for a number of years when I lived in Monrovia. It's very little to see and do here. Maybe that is why I had a not so much memory of yelping it compared to other exciting malls I have been too. It's lots of high end restaurants here with security. Hard to find restrooms when you need a restroom. You have to ask city employees, and that can be a inconvenience. But all in all, I like the place. It just does not have the appealing effect to me. read more

This ghost town of a mall is a really peaceful place to relax and think, write, or just unwind and read a book or scroll mindlessly on your phone. Literally no one is shopping at the outdated stores that sell low quality but nicely displayed overpriced stuff from China . I love wandering around a dying mall . One day they will all be obsolete. But you can still enjoy the restaurants there and easy garage parking. There's a really cool antique mall within it which sells all kinds of cool retro stuff -- it's like walking through a museum where you can touch and buy things or just imagine what the past was like . The Paseo has been around for some time and it's pretty dead now that some shops of have closed throughout the years. Not mad about it though because it's rarely crowded which is a huge plus! I really like coming here for the H&M, Regal Cinemas and Fogo De Chao! I like that this place is super walkable and good for a stroll after getting food. There's also a Starbucks if you need a quick coffee. There is a lot of underground parking and parking validation with purchase. Overall, cool spot to visit on a weekend off! read more

My daughter and I love the mall. Malls are a dying thing due to Amazon and such, but this place is really nice. The selection of stores here is good. My daughter and I love the h&m store. We love the Cinemas. Good prices, and service is dialed in. Never any problems at this mall. Would highly recommend. read more

It's like the last time I was here except there's now all this Christmas flair. And benches being readied for the very famous Rose Parade. It is true what fellow Yelpers say: it's not that great of a place for shopping given the choices are very limited. But if there's anything great about this place is the variety of eateries. There is a decent amount to choose from. This would also be a great spot for happy hour! There's a bit of construction here and there so I'm assuming there's gonna be more additions. Finally, there's a pretty good upkeep. I didn't see any staff maintaining the cleanliness of the entire area, but I was impressed at how clean the overall general area is. Underground parking available. Hit and miss for the most part. Good part to that is most (if not all) vendors validate. I'm rarely around this area but I would be curious enough to come back and see some development. read more

It's true what everyone is writing, this mall is a sad dragon on its last breath. I wonder to myself how multi millionaires are so dumb they would let it get to this. I know the rentals are expensive because it's Pasadena. My sister used to work for treadmill store and at that time the rent was 10k a month. Inflation has hit everyone for a long time, prices are exorbitant and instead of paying them PEOPLE WONT. They'll find other sources, moving, or they'll make their own food, or they'll go to goodwill for clothes, they'll rent a guest room for extra money, or they will stop going here, which they have. The best sandwich shop hidden on the top called CALIFORNIA CRISP left!!! Never in my LIFE had I ever had a veggie sandwich as good as that one, and as big. I also miss Brookstone very much. I went to try out the massage chairs and found out... the store was gone. The theater has reopened tho on the second tier level. The Starbucks is big and lots of outdoor seating which I like (because the rental is so high here, most of them are tiny.. yuk) My best memory was meeting a lad named Hunter who worked there, who later became a successful lawyer and a dear friend to another lawyer at his firm. When Starbucks was on the corner of Colorado and Los Robles, I met a beautiful barista there, he was gay and his name was Hunter. I was there with him when he was going to quit to become a lawyer. I'll never forget his words "I can't imagine not working here". I laughed. "imagine it" I said. Unfortunately, I never got to be a super good friend which I wanted. He was busy. He went off to become a lawyer and then suddenly recently I learned that he died at the tender age of early 30s!!! A complete waste of a KIND and loving human. I shed some tears for someone I barely knew, because I knew in another lifetime we were really good friends. Now in this life, I will have to wait til I die or OOB to say hi again. Maybe next time, we will have a more fun and satisfying relationship. One can only hope, but I'll make it happen. read more

The good: There are some shops and restaurants here but there aren't a ton. There is a cute antique shop with plenty to see, H&M, Bath and Body Works and a women's clothing store/boutique with some great prices/deals on young women's fashion. It is spacious and easy to navigate. It is situated between apartment complexes. Some of the restaurants here have outdoor dining so you can people watch. The bad: I saw a gelato dispensing machine and was super excited because they had chamoy paletas and boba popsicles. However, it didn't work and wouldn't take my credit card. A lot of the stores here are closed or empty/vacated. Parking is metered parking and some of the spots are limited to 30 minutes or 1-2 hours. There is a parking garage as well however. The interesting: There are a lot of chirping birds here but it is otherwise pretty quiet. read more

During our walk-about in Old Pasadena last Sunday, we noticed this pedestrian mall area after visiting nearby City Hall. We walked through, and Dear Hubby popped in to the Tommy Bahama store. While he did that, I was checking out the directory and soaking up the vibe. I'm pretty good with directions and reading maps, but their's left me without the understanding of where to find the DSW store. I'd seen their name on an exterior sign, but never did pass them. Oh well, no shoe shopping. Our intent wasn't to linger, so we didn't explore much. It seems to be an extensive outdoor mall area, which could get quite warm in the summer. There's a movie theater, and it has its own parking garage. Some of the outside areas had design pizzaz. There was a feel of missing the softening of a sufficient amount of landscaping, though. Am not sure how long this area has been around. It wasn't very crowded late in the afternoon on a Sunday. read more

It's probably not fair, but I'm comparing the Paseo Colorado shopping center to Old Town Pasadena. Not very many shops here I frequent except DSW, Bath & Body Works, sometimes H&M, and of course Victoria's Secret and Tommy Bahama are cool too, but that's about it for me. The husband found a LEGO set a while back at The House Depot, but there's not much else that caught my attention there. The parking garage is cheaper than the Convention Center if you have an event to go to there. Paseo Colorado is located on the south side of Colorado between Marengo and Los Robles. It's been years since I've been to Old Pasadena but I do remember coming here when this place was still "new". Coming back to this mall made me realize how being outdoors and on multiple levels and multiple buildings that seem to be unconnected is sort of a pain. There's a lot of having to go up and down stairs if you don't feel like waiting for the elevators that seem quite slow. I look at this place now and it seems more like a place where people live (residential properties) instead of places to actually do real shopping. We were just walking around on a Sunday because this seems to be a nice place to walk but in hindsight not really. There's not much to see here. It sort of reminds me of a mall in Mount Lebanon called the Galleria where it really doesn't specialize in anything or have anything really of significance. There are decent places to eat it seems but overall it's sort of meh. I ended up finding parking on the street and there was some sort of protest going on at in front of the auditorium building steps. The stay didn't last very long as all we did was stop by the Yard House for a few drinks before leaving. Honestly I wasn't impressed this go around compared to perhaps the first time I saw this place almost 2 decades ago. read more

The Paseo - Movie night - Shopping Centers Near Me - Pasadena, California

The first sign of trouble at Paseo Colorado was when the city allowed new business and apartment buildings to be built on the north side of Colorado Blvd -- completely blocking the phenomenal view of the San Gabriel mountains the outdoor mall was originally designed to provide visitors on the second level. The second sign was the leaving of Gelson's market. Pasadena *still* remains without a high end supermarket. The third sign was the opening of the nearby convention center to large events -- which horribly impacted the limited parking. (Parking was one of the key problems that led to Gelson's having few customers and leaving.) The fourth sign of trouble was supposed to be the start of a resurgence at Paseo -- a new hotel. But construction and then the hotel itself took away more of the limited parking. It seemed like the managers and the city had a death wish for the Paseo. Still, the Paseo featured a fantastic Arc Light movie theater and several popular restaurants including PF Chang's, the Yard House, Maple, El Cholo and Tokyo Wako -- all good places for good food. It also had a major Equinox Gym. It had some fun events like the Chalk Festival. But then the pandemic came. And Paseo lost the Arclight Cinema. Then PF Chang's. Thankfully, the Convention Center events are now far and few between. So parking is much easier these days. But the future of Paseo looks grim. It's 60% ghost mall. The hotel means nothing to the traffic at the stores and restaurants. Without the reopening of the movie theater it's hard to see how the Paseo survives much longer. It cannot keep retail-wise with Old Town or even South Lake. If the owners can't get the movie theater to reopen, it's over. Even then, they would need to find a way to capture the door traffic generated by the cinema complex. They need a better selection of restaurants with PF Chang's gone. They need a better range and type of retail as well. These problems are not unique to Paseo. Malls have frequently driven out the smaller, more interesting retailers in favor of big bland chains. But Paseo's problems have been compounding for years well before Covid showed up. And now without a movie theater -- Paseo seems on its last legs. The Glendale Americana (which suffers similar bad parking design) has found a way to reopen its own Arclight cinema space -- but there is nothing but silence here in Pasadena. Whoever runs the Paseo and whoever runs Pasadena -- they seem to deserve each other. Despite being a thriving, major urban area of Los Angeles county with unique and wonderful historic features (Caltech, JPL, the Huntington Library & Gardens, Gamble House, Norton Simon museum, the Rose Bowl, Rose Parade, etc) Pasadena cannot seem to provide its residents with top-of-the-line multi-use retail experience. Even the Old Town area is beset with problems. Particularly bland chains pushing out the more interesting vendors because of exorbitant rents. But Paseo could have been something special. The city got way too greed right away and didn't protect the most important element of the Paseo design -- the view. Which was stunning. But like how the city managers allowed a glut of condos and apartment complexes, they couldn't resist allowing taller towers cutting off Paseo's view. They've never protected the Paseo and didn't insist on the owners finding a way to keep a high-end supermarket for the residents of the Paseo Terrace tenants and local residents. The Paseo managers never found a way to attract and encourage a desirable slate of retailers. Where's the Apple store? How about bringing in an In 'n Out? Or Shake Shack? Hell, even a boba tea shop would be a welcome addition. But the giant cancer is the lack of a movie theater. In Glendale, there's no cool-looking Old Town type of retail area. So a big outdoor mall like Americana with a train and all the googaws makes sense. And it's packed with retail and restaurants. The owner made sure the cinema would reopen. The Paseo doesn't have even a 10th of what the Americana has. So if it's going to survive -- it needs at bare minimum a movie theater. Covid isn't going away completely. But neither are movie theaters. Movies have endured even with the fact people have had home theaters for 30 years or so. People like to go out. And eventually movie theaters are going to be the big draw they've always been. Without a theater -- Paseo will be a ghost mall with apartments. And if we're lucky -- a major developer (like the one who designed Faneuil Hall and the NY Seaport) will purchase Paseo, raze it and give the city its first truly great multi-use retail space. read more

This is an outdoor shopping mall. It is considered the newer part of Pasadena. It is few blocks away from Old Town Pasadena. It has underground parking, which you can get validation to take few dollars off from most places you visit (ex movie theater, restaurants, shops). It is surrounded by an luxury apartment. This place is known to have events. I normally come to their annual Pasadena Chalk Festival. This year it will be on 6-17-17 and 6-18-17 from 10am-7pm. This month coming up, they have Motown Pasadena on 3-10-17 at 6pm, where you can listen to music and dance to sounds of Motown. Bring your kids, kids will get to do crafts and get their face painted for free This mall is deteriorating. It used to have better stores, but they all have left to Old Town Pasadena or Santa Anita Mall. We are left with very few options such as : BCBG Max Azria, Victoria Secret, White House & Black Market, Brighton, Bath & Body Works, Brookstone,, Chico's, DSW shoes, Jacadi, Tommy Bahama. Yes, I know this is a sad list. They are known for better restaurants. They have Yard House, Tokyo Wako, PF Chang's, Islands, El Cholo Café, Cali Burger and Bodega. They have a great movie theater called ARC light and they have a Wine & Canvas Parking: $9 Max without validation $6 Max with validation 90 minutes free with validation $1.50 each 30 minutes after Overall, it is alright. I rather go to Santa Anita Mall. Parking is free and more stores to shop read more

Do people still come here? Really? For what reasons? OK, I kid. I know theres got to be some or many people who come here to shop and dine since its still 'here'. Paseo Colorado is not the best outdoor mall. Especially having a lot of our favorite shops just a few blocks away in Old Pasadena, this mall is often forgotten. In fact, the lot itself is pretty huge but theres nowhere to shop! Most of the shops available here are the ones that people dont often shop at. Every time I am here, it looks so dead. It doesnt matter on the weekdays or weekends, its always dead. Its almost as bad as 'so-called' their ONLY mall in Hilo, HI. So then why do I come here? THE only store I like to go is DSW. I dont see any other locations nearby besides this one. So I have to. Other than DSW, none of the stores pique any interest. Parking garage is available for your convenience AND you can get it validated without any hassle at the machine located near H&M (like the one you see at Nordstrom at The Grove). I dont exactly know how long its validated for but I want to say 1 hour and 30 minutes like the other parking structures in Old Pasadena. Paseo Colorado has potential because its location isnt too bad, parking is doable BUT until they can get more popular and famous brand shops, I dont see it going anywhere. read more

Take in a dine and dash for the movies Whether it's an all you can eat steak at the newly freshly remodeled Porto Alegre or a relaxing meal at the Yard House for friends. Then afterwards a great evening to enjoy the movies with designated seats. There are many empty stores here and signs of some remodeling taking place. Hoping for a major makeover or new added businesses that will attract lotsa of famous named businesses. But that's up to the property owners to get together with the city and big financers to deal out the money for a major makeover. Overall, we always seem to have a great time here. P.S. I am giving this an extra star because it is one of those new types of Los Angeles Malls that are built to look and feel like a mini city, with streets and shops and eateries along winding pathways with street signs and cobbled roads and everything made to make you think that you are in some European village or some quaint little city. And the new trend in this type of place is for the little streets to have apartments over the shops. And this Mall has some great looking apartments. So if you are from a place like Boston or Chicago - you can move into one of the party-luxury apartments and then live as if you are overlooking a village. Also - this is a shopping mall that actually has a high-end grocery store in in it. Love it read more

Validated parking gets you a discount... so do what ever you have to do to remember to get it done. If it is a rainy day, listen to me when I say, "Pass up this place and head to the local mall". Love their kids events (now first Saturday of each month), how clean it is, has some great stores for shopping and restaurants for larger gatherings. I was always upset at their parking situation since it's pricey and or difficult to determine which stores validate... until today, where I'll share the secret. Paseo is not my favorite. There isn't much here except for Yard House, H&M, and Bath and Body Works. Other than that there isn't much. Arclight, Macys, BJs, VS/Pink, all closed down. If your parking isn't validated you'll have to pay. There are also a few small shops to browse. This is a quick in and out though. I've lived in Pasadena my whole life and hardly ever visit Paseo unless I'm eating at Yard House or need something quick from Bath and Body Works. There definitely needs to be more stores for foot traffic to pick up because there is not much that helps Paseo stand out. If I'm honest I'm surprised Paseo is still standing! I'm surprised Paseo wasn't turned into just all luxurious apartments after so many stores closed. I recommend driving the extra few minutes to Santa Anita or Glendale Galleria. I ordered a cute blazer and was excited to pick it up from this location. When I went to the store, the Manager said she saw my name but that she was shipping it out already. Seriously?! So I call Customer Service and they told me now it's completely cancelled. Unavailable to buy or purchase. Apparently, once they remove it from the system, it's done for. I told CS that I was told online that Pasadena had it available and I bought it. I just needed a confirmation email. When I went to the store, the Manager was like: "I mailed it out. Were you the one who bought it? What's your name?" Hello I go there a lot to buy things and she just "shipped it off". I'm amazed at the lack of common sense people have. Why would you ship something if you saw someone ordered it and is waiting for a confirmation email? Obviously she didn't care if I don't get my order. No attempt to even not ship it out? Headquarters knows that the black girl helped me a lot but I am beyond horrified at the Store Manager for doing that. I read amazing reviews and was looking forward to that particular blazer and now, nope, it is totally gone. It was a classic piece too. Like a must have. I don't know why she obviously saw my name and did not care to put it aside and contact me via email or phone about my order. Based on her inattentive and insensitive behavior, I feel like returning everything I just bought! Blazers like that match everything and I feel like she definitely had NO right to just send it away seeing that I just ordered it. I am just speechless sometimes, it makes me angry. read more
