The promenade is where the outdoor shopping happens and also where them kids club (every third Thursday) is being held. We came to enjoy the kids club, it's held around the center between the stores around the playground outside. The event is free and doesn't cost you to attend! It was a really hot day so luckily there were tents out for some shade. They also offered free water and lemonade (courtesy from vendors around) and a raffle at the end if you register during the event. There's a pond fountain containing goldfish and turtles which is fun to watch and have the kids watch as well. When you're hungry or bored, there's plenty of shops around the area to explore as get something to eat and drink. The best places would probably be the food court since it has the most variety of restaurants but there's also nearby restaurants such as noodles, hot pot, kbbq, and meet fresh with sweets and beverages. Restrooms at the promenade are family based and gendered, located behind California pizza kitchen. read more

It's the outdoor and walkway area mostly for restaurants on the second level of the shopping center. It's near the elevator entrance of the ground level parking, usually it's hard to find a spot during weekends. This space is not all filled with restaurants, and I hope there would be more exciting food options later. read more

I have been to The Shops of Santa Anita (previously known as The Westfield of Santa Anita) on many occasions. I knew the outside area that leads into the mall is called The Promenade, but never thought to do a review specific to it until now. This promenade consists of a good handful of shopping, food, tea, and dessert shops. To name a few that's within the little alley way to get into the mall, Side Chick has amazing tasting chicken, Uncle Tetsu has yummy original cheesecake, Noodle St has delicious noodles, and One Cup has good looking drinks (I haven't tried it yet, but will soon next time). There are other restaurants and shops on the outside expansion of the mall. Service is usually good and prices are very reasonable from all the businesses that I have visited. They have seating at the various shops and a common seating area, too. Mall restrooms are located near this promenade... you just need to exit through the door on the far right corner along side the wall where the bicycles are located. It's nice to enter the mall from this promenade area. I like to park on this side of the mall actually. It's a cool place to hang out with family and friends and grab some great eats/drinks while you're here. Enjoy your visit! read more

'The Promenade,' is another term for Alley walkway to Santa Anita Mall. This place holds nice restaurants and tea shops such as: 'Noodle St,' 'Din Tai Fung,' 'Uncle Tetsu,' (a dessert shop), and many more to list out. Their restrooms are spacious too and kept always super clean and fully stocked. This is my go-to local mall....here now. Will be back tomorrow as well. Pics will follow later. read more

This place is so cool! It's an outdoor center within an indoor shopping mall! There are places to eat and a few stores to shop at. There's even a playground for kids to play in! The service is good , I must say. The selection of places is quite good! The value for money is very good. read more

Not really worth a special trip but if you are in the mall for something else it may be worth a walk through, but there is nothing special gere. read more

Lots of seating and great outdoor area with a nice area of breathing air quality when the rest of the mall gets tiring. The grass areas aren't too interesting though it does provide a little aura of relaxation when dining out at the restaurants and done with shopping. read more

The Promenade is what they named the outdoor expansion that added a bunch of new stores between Macy's and Nordstrom with an emphasis on upscale brands. Its is a nice outdoor area with restaurants and shops. Really nice to stroll around and has a nice clean kids play area. read more

I really like this mall near Santa Anita race track.. on Huntington Blvd. Very big.. all the shops you love including Macy's and Nordy. Aldo, American Apparel, Sephora etc.. Some tips.. it is a good mall for kids, they have a 2 story carousel.. 3.00 a person.. a little train and a play area.. and they have a nice big AMC theater and a large food court as well. Some of the shops are accessed through an outdoor area (which I think is what is referred to as The Promenade) that is really pretty, but on a rainy day like today, the indoor mall was perfect. It is a good place to hang in this area. I prefer The Grove, Fashion Island or Americana.. but if you are in the area and looking for a place to shop and hang out. This is clean and nice. read more

I love this place. Good ambience. A lot of seatings around and very modern. There's a kid's place/mini-park,pond with live amphibians and valet parking is available for $5. Because finding a parking spot can be a hassle. Clean because it's all new. Great place to chill! read more

They really made this outdoor area fun and clean. Kids like the outdoor play area and the turtle pond. The mall staff should be aware though, there are way too many turtles in that pond, I'd be worried about population control. I wonder if people drop off turtles they don't want anymore. Something to think about... The restaurants make this place fun for the entire family. I like the food court ''alley'' with fun places to eat and bicycle statues to pose on, hehe. read more

A great addition to the Arcadia Mall. They went through some major changes That this mall needed. There's a parking structure & a new play area for the kiddos. It's an outdoor play area but it's cute & nice. They've added a Koi Pond with turtles & a waterfall. Plenty of seating area to relax & enjoy. Once in awhile, a train would come by with little riders. It's cute. During the Christmas holiday, they even set up a Faux Ice Skating Rink. ( some type of plastic floor & skates with a special blade) and a big Christmas tree. I gotta say... it's actually pretty nice seating in those comfy seats & listening to the waterfall in the background. Just taking in the beautiful weather Southern California had to offer. Come during the week days where it's less crowded to enjoy the serene atmosphere. Then shop or eat if you have time. There's plenty of restaurants. You'll find William Sonoma, Coach, All That BBQ, Tevana, Hot Pot place in the Promenade. read more

This outdoor area connected to the indoor Santa Anita Mall is very nice. Of course, it can always be larger, but there seems to be some unique restaurants that most malls don't have, so that's a plus. The last I was here, the Asian grocery store wasn't open yet, so I'd like to come back and browse it. read more

The Promenade is still fairly new since it has just been added about a year? has it been a year? Not very sure but it's still quite new. The Santa Anita Westfield Mall which is the inside mall it's located on/at was already a 5 star shopping mall to begin with so along with The Promenade being added, this shopping mall has to be my absolute favorite! Stores/brands located at The Promenade include Coach, ANGL, GenerationV, abercrombie kids, Banana Republic, Talbots, and more. It's a pretty nice selection for the higher end shoppers. After all, Nordstroms is just straight ahead. My favorite part about this place is though, THE OUTSIDE! There are bamboo spinning chairs, wooden tables and chairs, misty water fountains, sofas and oh so comfy chairs that couples enjoy making out in because it's just so comfy! My sister made the funniest joke today calling it a couple's retreat, lol, because at every corner you'll literally find a couple. But still, it doesn't take away from the amazing feel this place provides. The thing that most outdoor shopping centers lack is the amount of sitting space and chairs! The Promenade has this and it's a beautiful place to take the children and family to spend on a weekend. (Check out my photos! Really like this mall. Came here for the first time to check out Gilly Hicks, but everything else was nice. I like their interior/exterior outdoor mall design. Perfect to come on a sunny California day. You'll find your usual department stores like Nordstrom, along with stores like Foreign Exchange, Tous, more of the nicer places, and your usual Forever 21, H&M, and I really like how they have a LUSH! It's a really nice place to come and shop around the whole day, and eat somewhere. I saw alot of restaurants and a food court inside the mall, as well. A pretty carousel on the first floor! I actually wanted to go on it..Bring your kids so you have an excuse to go on it as well. read more

If you are looking for a cute date idea, tourist attraction, a place to burn calories, shop till you drop and listen to great music... THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!! This one stop strip literally has everything you are looking for! The popular apparel stores, little booths that sell cool stuff, snack shops, musicians who were featured on musical talent TV shows performing outside the stores, dance and acting performances and last time we saw a magic show! This place has so much culture and talent it is both entertaining and fascinating to see musicians perform their own songs! After shopping, there are many restaurants surrounding the promenade as well as movie theaters if you get tired of walking and are hoping to chill. It is also very close to the Santa Monica Pier so it is walking distance if you would like to see the beautiful houses that outline the shoreline. There are plenty of parking garages around the area and you could literally find any type of store. From backpacks to heels and bikes to purses! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. read more

I am surprised to see such low ratings for the Promenade here at the Santa Anita Mall, one of my favorite malls around the area to shop at. I love that there are some shops out here to shop at because it just changes up the shopping experience, although it can be really cold outside during the winter months. But I love the way the layout of the shops out here. It is also really nice that there are chairs and sun umbrellas out here for people to sit on. Also love seeing the little train driving around the entire promenade with little kids (and some adults ride in it too with their kids). Love some of the stores that are out here, including Coldwater Creek, Charming Charlie, Talbots, Foreign Exchange and Generation V. Almost every time I come out to this mall, I always come out here to window shop and browse and will keep coming. read more

Wow this place has changed, I was last here about 10 years ago. There have been some improvements inside and it is more modern. Gratefully, all if the aggressive cell phone and cologne kiosks are gone. They really turned me off and were the reason I never came back. Not many people inside and I couldn't find a music/CD/DVD store anywhere as they are all gone now. Some beautiful stores but nothing I needed. May be back again sometime. read more

I moved away from home for school and came back to an entire new part of the mall. I was really excited to check out what "Promenade" everyone was talking about. However, I was slightly disappointed. Although the place looks nice and everything, its not really that great for shopping. Half of the promenade is basically an upscale food court. A quarter of it is still under construction and the rest are stores that aren't really great. I've been to a lot better promenades. This one didn't really stand out to me. read more

So this is the outdoorsy portion of the Westfield Santa Anita Mall... Literally its like trying to capture the essence of Universal Citywalk or the Block (err outlets at Orange now) and join it with a typical indoor mall. In my opinion, WHY? The weather in the SGV is not like the rest of So Cal to me. During the summer its really hot and during the winter you get the wind in this area making much colder. So what ends up happening, is you have a super hot or super cold exterior part of your mall. Personally I prefer to be in the tempature regulated interior portion of the Westfield Santa Anita Mall... Pro Tip: Go inside the regular mall for several childrens hangouts! On the good side they have a number of non chain shops out here. They have a number of keechie stores out here as well as some overpriced retailers. I believe my daughters favorite thing would be the train ride or perhaps just the numerous couches/chairs to sit on. The couches and chairs definitely remind me of relaxed oversized patio furniture that you would have at your place to relax in on a lazy sunday afternoon while BBQing. Overall I am totally unclear what the intent was of the part of the mall. I find it interesting that it is a hybrid mall. I find it even more peculiar that only one anchor store has access to this part of the mall. There are also a couple of restaurants out here which allow for a slightly different dining experience than the food court or Dave & Busters which are also within the main part of the mall. Consequently, I dont find it great nor horrible and thus it ends up smack dab here in the middle... read more

Its been a while since this has opened but it is still all good.....ps now the newly opened gold gym has opened on the other side of the mall (across from forever 21). Great mall! read more

Promenade is a fancy name basically outdoor outlet alike in the same mall. Located in the second floor but in the outdoor instead of ac indoor. You find higher end store and restaurant in here than inside. They keep added new one all the time and only mean parking is getting worst. Added more store but didn't increase parking spot. read more

Cool place to chill with your friends during summer. Theres tiny gold fishes and turtles inside the pond. Most of the stores located out here are mehh.. But theres a lot of spaces for kids to run around and theres even grass where your puppies can do their business haha. The down side is, when it rains, theres no roof to protect you from getting wet. We saw one kid getting hurt from the circular swing at the play area, poor kid hit his head so hard he almost fainted. They designed the play area with many hard steps and one of which is right off the circular swing so if a kid falls off they would land right on the hard plastic. That's a dumb design. We love the turtle pond and the train ride, my son ask to see the turtles every time. But I would avoid the play area. read more

I drove all around the Promenade at the Santa Anita Mall today, while still in construction. The parking structure is almost complete, for I was watching them attach the "parking" sign above the entrance. I wasn't excited for the idea of building a "Promenade" (which will include more shops, restaurants, and a man-made pond/lake supposedly) and actually voted against it (I'm a resident of Arcadia). Not only will there be even worse traffic, but will be even more inconvenient for locals who want to just drop by and grab something real quick, but instead have to spend hours finding a parking spot :( However, as I was driving by, I became very excited just 'cause the mall is pretty boring, and the Promenade will definitely bring some spice to the shopping center. The only problem I have is that the architecture is pretty nice (can be compared to the Americana probably), so nice that it doesn't match the unattractive Macy's building next door, although Nordstrom compliments it well on the other side. Opening in Spring of 2009, I can't wait! read more

I went to the Promenade the 1st weekend of their opening. I posted a couple pix. Too bad the recession hit while this place was under construction. (I don't think it would've come to being if they knew how the economy was headed when they planned this expensive new addition) The opening weekend turned out rather low key, but pleasant. When we visited, they were having a fashion show featuring really good looking models sporting clothes from the new shops. The central stage is a nice feature of the promenade. I love the low water plants used to accent the courtyard. Very well thought out. Once the recession eases and the economy picks up, this addition will turn out to be a very nice addition. read more

What's up with the low star ratings?? I came in here as an alternative...and I can't believe I found this gem, next to the race track. The Promenade is a outdoor mall which showcases a good amount of high-end stores... .I really like the design of this outdoor mall, it's like Fixtures Living took over and placed their outdoor furniture throughout the aisle. I notice some doggie water bowls, so this is dog friendly place, a big plus for me! To boot this outdoor mall is connected to an indoor mall, the Westfield Santa Anita...so take a nice stroll outside and window shop, or wander into Macy's or JC Penny's (which is not a typical JCP store, this one has a Sephora store inside! Check it out. Also they are renovating the downstairs portion, I'm guessing is where you can buy home goods. I'm excited to see what it will look like after its done... I ended up buying things in H&M and Sports Chalet and while browsing about, I notice a children's play area, it's nice to see all the rug rats sequestered in one area. There's also a two-story beautiful carousel. They also have a America Apparel store, a cute Asian store with some really cool products! The food court is kinda in the middle? with stores all around. It was hard to figure out where it began and where it ended...I guess it ends where there's an area with no tables and chair, okay. While I was in the store, I can smell different foods wafting and intermixing around the 'doorway', weird. Overall, this is a place I could visit again. read more

The niceeee architectural design Promenade is finally open! I came here on the second day of grand opening and surprisingly, it wasn't crowded at all. I think it was too hot for anyone to be outdoor in this weather.The place is nice and clean, of course! It's located upstairs, outside of Nordstrom & Macys. I don't know is it for this week only but they have cool spinning chairs for restless shoppers to sit on, pretty neat. I guess you can compared this place to Americana, or the Grove somewhat, just no water fountain or trolley. I'm surprised they don't charge for parking but who knows what's gonna happen in the future! They do valet for $8...but who would actually pay $8 to go shopping??? I'm sure some of the stores are not open yet since I didn't see much. From what I remember, they have V-Generation, Boarders, Coach, Foreign Exchange, Abercrombie, Beard Papa and bunch of small stores so far. This place deserves 4 stars but because of all the useless stores (to me at least), Santa Anita Mall will be even MORE crowded. Not like it's not crowded enough without the Promenade already! At least they have more parking structure now...but it's still packed as ever. read more

I came here two days ago because I wanted to explore the new addition to the mall. It was hot so this place wasn't crowded. I'm not sure they thought it through.. Because of the hot weather here during the summer, it's no fun going out to the small promenade addition. It's more of a small nook than a promenade, anyway. There are only a handful of stores here. I wouldn't come unless I wanted to go to the Gap or Banana Republic. read more

Parking: This mall is pretty big. When we first arrived, I was unable to find parking for the first twenty minutes. I had to circle in the garage and then finally found parking infront of a big department store. At first glance, I thought that The Promenade had limited stores but boy was I wrong. I failed to see that there was an indoors entrance where you can walk to more shops. There were plenty of stores and shops (apparel, jewelry, shoes, diverse kiosks, etc.). The outside had a cute little turtle pond along with a play area for kids. They also offer train rides for children but the train basically goes in circles in the outside space (fun for kids, not quite so amusing for adults to watch). read more

The Promenade is a pretty cool idea but most people aren't up for wandering around outside in the hot sun when you can just go inside and relax in the AC of the main mall. However, there are a few pretty cool stores out in the Promenade: Teavana, a couple cute clothing stores, Abercrombie Kids and Williams Sonoma. They are also going to be opening a hot pot restaurant so that's legit. In my opinion though, I like the main section of the mall better and only come out here if necessary; it's pretty hot outside in the summer! read more

The outside area has really gone to the dumps. Roughly half of the original retailers (as well as restaurants), like Williams Sonoma, Foreign Exchange, Gap, and Banana Republic have gone out of business. To make up for it, management has brought in a bunch of new restaurants like Red Robin, the Hot Pot place, All That Barbecue, and LettuceGo. LettuceGo is one of the more popular places. It's like Korean Chipotle. A Caffe Concerto is supposed to open soon. So get excited for macaroons! Also, a huge traditional Chinese medicine store is supposed to open soon selling delicacies such as bird's nest and ginseng. There is a very nice koi pond with turtles that was more recently installed and a play area outside Macy's so this is a good place to relax with your children. The landscaping and ambiance is decent. Overall, there's not much reason to come out here to shop but there is some dining and some notable attractions. read more
