I expected this to be a fairly fun of the mill nail salon but I was less than impressed. On the positive side, I was taken quickly and there was a large color selection. They have a menu you can choose a pedicure from and the cheapest one is $28 which seems pricey to me but the description sounded nice. There was nothing special about this and was certainly not worth the price. The girl helping me never put the massage chair on and repeatedly offered me other services for more money and seemed annoyed when I said no. She did do a nice job painting and it is holding up well which is why the two stars. I would not go back again and would rather spend more for a better experience. read more

The place is ridiculously busy. Be prepared to stand around and get thrown in to a random station to wait 20+ minutes. They literally have 20+ people doing manicures and pedicures. Doesn't seem like the cleanest place. They take their tools right out of their plastic box they carry around from person to person, i.e., not sterilizing them. If you want a waxing, it's right in the front of the store in front of everyone. There is no private room. If I could give a "0" for customer service , I would . Took my daughters yesterday to get a polish change . First , I was charged $30 for 2 polish change ! Ok , it was pricey , but I was in a rush so I paid . The disastrous job provided by 2 of the technicians was ridiculous ! I can do a better job . 1. The nails were not filed !!! 2. The painting was not even !!! You could see the difference in shades where the woman technician didn't even take the time to give an even coat . 3. All the nails were full of nail polish around the nail. I was accords the street when my girls came to show me the horrible / disastrous job they had done . I walked right over and the level of unprofessionalism provided by the general manager or owner and I'm guessing his wife or a woman technician was horrible !!! If it wasn't for a younger male technician who said to the woman technician " we don't let our customers walk out with nails looking like this , I would have asked for a full refund !" He and only he kindly fixed my girls nails ... To add to all of this , the woman technician was rude , harassed my girls and told them they were rude, and began to talk about the in her " Asian language to other !" I am going to do my best to spread the word about this incident everywhere I can . Not surprised it was the only nail salon in the area empty on a Saturday Afternoon ! What a POS business. The manager or owner working on 12/19 has the attention span and business sense of a gnat. I went in for a simple manicure and received the worst service. Long story short, they had 3 people do my simple manicure, the second 2 neither addressed me or did an adequate job, and because of piss poor management, I received only 2/3 of the service. And the polish job was less than adequate until I requested he clean it up. All ladies know one of the best parts is the massage, but because the manager ( who was my second manicurist) doesn't know her head from her a$$, that got missed and after mentioning it to the third he said no one told him it hadn't been done. When requesting my bill to be altered the manager refused and kept telling me $16. It's evident she doesn't understand the meaning of customer service. I'll gladly pay more and drive further to give my business to a better quality business. July 3, 2015 I WONT RETURN! and I will tell others to go elsewhere. I went in to have a manicure and pedicure. The place was somewhat busy considering July 4th was around the corner. The owner of the place was actually doing my nails. When he saw more clients coming in and people leaving because it was so busy, he rushed through my manicure. I had to stop him 5 times to tell him to stop rushing and actually paint my nails. He clipped my cuticle causing my nail to bleed, and now my finger is sore. My nails looked terrible. The sides were not painted. Polish all around the nail on my skin. Uneven areas of polish. MY NAILS LOOKED terrible. I could have done a better job myself. HE DID NOT CARE AT ALL. Love this place. Tips 2 Toes is an unassuming looking joint at the Brier Creek strip mall, but having been there 4-5 times I've yet to see it anything but busy - a stark contrast from many of the empty looking salon/spa joints in the area. Based on how many people I see running through there, I'm surprised there are so few reviews on Yelp! The prices are incredible - $28 for a spa pedi? $10 for brow waxing? Yes please! And the service is quite excellent. I've never had to wait too long to get in to a pedicure chair or to get a waxing technician. The work is always very well done. Sometimes I'm a bit uncomfortable when all the technicians are chattering away in another language (reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Elaine is being mocked by her Korean manicurist), and on a few occasions technicians have made some "left-handed" service suggestions (i.e. "Will you be getting a lip wax as well today?" - um, are you trying to suggest I NEED one?! Ouch?!). But I try not to take either indiscretion too seriously and assume that all is well intentioned. read more

They charge for every little thing....they charged me $5 extra dollars to shape, yes SHAPE the nail $5 and then another $5 to fix the marred lines in the gel form where the previous tech cut down into my natural nails with the drill...who happened to be sitting beside us (another tech in the shop). I have gone here in the past to get pedicures, but this time I wanted a manicure and SNS. The girl that did it, did such a poor job. She did not even it out, the powder dried lumpy, she didn't fill it anywhere near my cuticle so it looked as if I needed a fill in, I had hard dry lumps of the powder under my nails, which I could not remove on my own. From the manicure my cuticles were damaged, all around my nails looked as if someone had chewed the skin off. I was very upset that not only did my nails look terrible but it cost $50. After a week I had to get them redone. I went to a different salon that not only did a terrific job but it was only $35. I will never go here again. read more

Don't even deserve one star. Went yesterday with my daughter for manis and pedis. I felt like we were cattle being herded. We were about to leave when they said they had two chairs. Sat for over 15 min before two men came. Mine was a bit older and seemed to be in a rush. My entire time was less than 40 min. He hurt me when cutting my cuticles, was terrible with the nail polish on my toes. Smudges all around my nails was busy watching everything else in store while doing my nails. My family has been going to this place since their first open many years ago. Few months ago, we started trying new places because the service at Tips 2 Toes went downhill since they started losing the good technicians and hiring new people. The new technicians were unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. However, I received a gift card here and decided to give them another chance. It was my BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! I left this place with tears and promise to myself that I will never return. Here is what happened, I went here for my pedicure and a lady ( I don't know her name, but she has really long hair and sit at the third table from the back door) took care of me. At first, she was really nice, friendly and took care of me well. However, when she asked me to got a $45 pedicure, but I told her that I would do the $28. Her behavior change 360 degree from nice, friendly to rude and racist. At this time, she started to said a lot of words in Vietnamese, I heard it and got everything recorded. Since I have a lot of Vietnamese friends, I knew that she called me a b*tch and devil. She also said that she would did my pedicure quick so she cans kick me out of here. After 20 minutes, I got my pedicure done with my toes nails painted like a 6 years old did. I asked the technician to fixed it but she ignored me and just came straight to her table and sat there. I never had any experience like this before and I was shocked and cried a lot at that time. Gel manicure for myself and a friend. Now I keep my nails done all the time however I happened to be in the area when I needed to get them redone. Vinny did my nails and another lady did my friends nails. We both selected gel manicures. Vinny was nice but inappropriate in his conversation because it was all about sex and sexual positions. The woman who did my friends nails was eating finger food off and on during the manicure. When we were finished and after tipping 10$ we walked over to another store and within less than 1hr my polish that normally lasts three weeks was chipping. I went back to the salon within 90 minutes and Vinny said did you get that done here? Uhmmm yes you did them less than two hours ago and I had to show the receipt. He said you were holding your hands wrong in the LED light. Oh my goodness I was like seriously? So it was "repaired" and we left. Three hours later 4 nails had polish lifting off of them. I stayed in Durham that night ONLY because of the slack job done on my nails and expected a correction the next day because at this timr the shop was closed. The next morning we returned to the shop with mine and my friend's gel polish looking terrible. It was corrected by a different person and they said the polish was bad although we both chose different brands. The new corrected new gel polish lasted ONLY 3 days. Like I said i keep gel polish on my nails and this place did the worse job I have ever had and a total of 3 different people did our nails between myself and my friend. Just dont go its not worth it. Applying gel polish is a process that many do not understand or master. It is evident that no one at Tips 2 Toes knows how to apply gel polish to nails. read more

I went to Tips 2 Toes today for a gel manicure. I called to make a reservation a day ahead of time, and they were not busy when I showed up. The staff was very nice, but the manicure was sloppy. My cuticles were not properly trimmed, the gel polish wasn't well applied and stuck to my nail beds, and I was out of there in 30 minutes. It looks like I did it at home. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I WOULD!! I've never experienced customer service as bad as at Tips 2 Toes Brier Creek!! I went in Tuesday early evening to get a pedi for my vaca in NYC and received a "just okay" service. Fast forward ONE day and on Wednesday the polish on 3 of my 5 toes on my right foot just peeled off!! I went back on Thursday right after work and was immediately insulted. The mgr Chris said "You must have done something and just want a new color". I went to this salon last Saturday for a pedicure was HORRIBLE. There was no small talk which was good for me. I asked if there were any other colors; na just what you see; well ok. But the kicker is as she was completing my pedicure she put one of the tools on a magazine. I asked if she was done and if she had planned to use the tool again on my feet. For some reason she could not understand my English so the tech beside her told interpreted what I was asking and said; 'SHE DOES NOT WANT YOU TO USE THAT TOOL THAT YOU PUT ON THE MAGAZINE". Hoan did an excellent job. Even though I came in within 30 mins of closing time, she offered to get me a complimentary beverage, took extra care to not make me feel rushed and was meticulous about making the pedicure perfect. They have added several more pedicure chairs. Although I happen to have never had to wait for a service personally, I have seen them very busy and starting a waiting list before. They seem to be trying to step up their facilities and services to compete with other local foot spas. Their prices begin at $28 for a basic pedicure and go up to $45. The basic pedicure I had done (to be courteous with my late evening arrival) included the usual pedicure services, a brief foot and lower leg massage and paint. I've been to Tips 2 Toes often. More so the first time I lived in the Triangle before 2008. Since our return in 2011, I've returned a few times and the quality of service isn't what I remembered. They still welcome walk-ins. I rarely make an appointment and have always been accommodated with minimum wait time. Everyone is still very friendly. Prices have gone up a bit as expected, but still reasonable and competitive. However, the last two times my pedicures have been uncomfortable, to say the least. The first instance involved a bit much enthusiasm with the cuticle clipper. My big toe stung for a few days. The second instance involved VERY hot water. I have a high threshold for pain, but this even made me tear up a bit. It was so hot that my skin was very tender and the rest of the pedicure was painful. I was thankful that she was quick (maybe a bit rushed as well) and it was all over soon enough. I haven't been back since which saddens me because they used to be so happy with my pedicures before. read more

This place was absolutely TERRIBLE! I went in for a pink and white gel fill and one man started my appointment and then I was shoved off to some other man. Each person in this place was working on 2 customers at the same time....ridiculous! Now about the pink and white...I wanted both my pinks and whites filled. The man started to do my whites and I asked him to make them appear thicker, but he still made them too thin...fine, whatever. But it was when he began to do my pink fill did my blood start to boil...literally. He put on SO MUCH product down on my nails, that when I went to put my hands under the UV light to cure, my nails were on fire! I've been getting pink and whites for many years now, it has NEVER burned that bad in my entire experience with gel nails. This man clearly had zero training in gel nails! I asked the man to stop putting on so much product, that he really didn't need to lay it on that thick, but he didn't speak or really understand English, so communicating was completely pointless. He kept globbing on the product so thick that you couldn't see my whites anymore. not only that, but he used a very sheer, practically invisible white on my nails called "american white", which I've never heard of in my entire life. It was a garbage, low end, cheap product and you couldnt even see it anymore under all the pink he layed on my nails. Ultimately, I ended up asking the man to airbrush white tips on my nails since the disgusting whites he did, didn't even show through all the pink he put on my nails. I refused to pay for the white fill and only paid for the disgusting pink fill he did. My nails are thick and absolutely disgusting looking. I will NEVER go back to this low end, disgusting and down right unprofessional and pathetic exuse for a salon again. This place should be shut down. STAY AWAY! read more

I don't get my nails done much but I do like how they look when they're polished so I decided to try the gel polish. It was my first experience with it and I had also asked for a manicure. I didn't get a manicure, and since I never get my nails done I wasn't sure what order everything went in. I learned, by the time the gel polish is on, you can't go back and do a decent manicure. So there's that. But then also, within 5 days they were not only chipping, but peeling off in an entire sheet. Lifting up, just the way a too-thick layer of regular polish will peel. I just went now and had them redone elsewhere as this is my second lame experience with Tips2Toes (the first I was talked into a full set of gel nails when I wanted acrylic, and I only had 2 nails left a week later).
