The Bad and the Ugly: - $$$ You can spend a lot of cash here quickly. -The place was so busy there was barely room to walk, we were not given an estimated wait time, just told to pick a color and sit down at two stations. No one ever came back to us, so after waiting 20 minutes we left. -Parking was horrible, as it is Brier Creek I didn't expect a spot up front, but I had to park behind Bath and Body Works. -The gel truly ruined my nails, I will never get them again. Ever. -My nails are not always even and equal when getting manicures. read more

I have to say, that I am a fan of folks who can get me in and out and do a great job. I have been here 2 times in 2 months. The service was quick, no waiting and the quality was very good. The cleanliness is why I did not give them 5 stars. I would say they are cleaner than most but could still use a better sterilization method and procedures. So bad. SO bad. And I'm not even picky. I had the most painful pedicure and my polish looks like a 5 year old did it. I should have gotten up and walked out the first time she nicked me. Or the second. I have never had a more unrelaxing pedicure in my life. I was being yanked around and the calf massage was so painful. I proceeded to get my manicure because I'm leaving for a trip and didn't have time to go elsewhere. The manicure was so rushed and I am bleeding in more than one spot. I just got clear polish on my hands because I wasn't about to get a botch job on my hands as well. She did not use toe separators so my "ring" toe smudged against my middle. Infuriating. The place is gross. Water puddles everywhere, dirty rugs, old pedicure chairs. I couldn't locate my massage controller and she didn't even stop her hurried work to help me. Never again. Very disappointed with this visit. Young lady cut my toe & didn't apologize or ask if I was ok. She drew blood and kept on going. The job she did was poor quality and she had the nerve to ask if I wanted to put a tip with payment. This place was awful. They finished my pedicure and just left me waiting. I was not instructed to use the dryers so I had to ask. Then the dryers were awful quality. My toenails were painted awfully and smudged even after I stayed until the dryer for 15 minutes. I have never had such an awful experience. read more

I went to get my nails done for my cruise about 2 weeks ago. I tried the SNS. The next day my nail broke I went in got the nail repaired but the guy was in a rush and my nail was crooked. I following day another nail broke I scope on a microscope so I don't do hard labor so my nails should be able to with stand a scope. Then I go on my cruise 5 more nails broke. I was on vacation not doing anything hard one broke when I was picking up a chair cushion. I feel like I spent $55 in vain. I also got my eyebrows done also. I know that I don't have the best eyebrows but I have gone to different places before and the have not mess up my eyebrows like this place. I tried few nail salons since I moved to NC. Tips 2 Toes made me happy. It was super busy for mother's day and i was a walk-in. I waited for maybe 10 minutes (which is nothing considering how many people were in there)and Sai (I'm not sure how you spell it) was my nail technician. She was nice, fast and knowledgeable. She convinced me to try a new tecnique: i had acrylic nails and i was very tired of it so i wanted to get rid of them. She helped me with that and told me that there is a system (all natural nail system or something like it) where you can put a powder and a gel on your real nails, with no extension. Well.. i'm glad I trusted her. My nails are beutiful, protected and they look and feel natural. i'll be back.. soon! read more

I went for a natural nail manicure today and while the polish job itself was decent, I'll never be back. The male technician was so forceful when trimming my cuticles that I was shocked he didn't draw blood -- it was super aggressive and he was cutting large portions of skin, very quickly, and using a lot of pressure. The lotion and hand/arm massage was a total joke -- lasted maybe 3 minutes total. But that wasn't was compelled me to write this review. As I was sitting with my hands under the (very noisy and obviously old) dryer, I noticed him take all of the tools he just used on my manicure, rinse (no soap) them off quickly in the sink, and put them in one of those sterile packages that is sealed at the top. He then placed the package in his manicure box on the floor with all of his other supplies. Normally what you see are the technicians taking the instruments out of a sterile solution or even the heated sterilization machine and placing in the bag which is newly sealed for the next customer. ***Note, a previous reviewer had a similar complaint and the business responded on here that it was just temporary and they were going to wash it all later. Sorry, nope nope nope. Why would he bother sealing it up if that were the case? There is not even a container of Barbicide to be found anywhere. The soap at the sink has obviously been watered down to make it last longer (IRONY--I HAD TO USE 10 PUMPS TO GET A DECENT LATHER SO, YOU LOSE ON THAT ONE.) Also while I watched, after a fellow customer finished her pedicure and left, her technician rinsed out the pedicure basin with the sprayer, used no soap or other disinfectant, and rinsed off the callous grater (which can breed major infection) with just water, and placed it back in her little plastic carryall. So to the prior reviewer who said she got plantars warts, sister, I totally believe you and I totally believe this is where you got 'em. I have never been more disgusted and I will NEVER be back. My first visit to Tips 2 Toes was a good one. Three of us walked in on a slow afternoon to receive manicures & pedicures. We were seated quickly and the staff were very time-conscious, asking if we needed to get back to work at a certain time. I did have an appointment I needed to tend to and my technician, Julie, was very accommodating. At no point did I feel rushed and my pedicure came out great. If I were able to rate Tips 2 Toes a 3.5 stars, I would. The reason I chose not to give it a 4-star rating is because I felt the facilities & services were somewhat no-frills in comparison to other salons I've visited. The pedicure was very basic with no menu or options to upgrade (as I've seen elsewhere). Thankfully, the lower price does reflect this. All in all, a good experience. read more

Went on Sat morning and they were super busy. I more or less got right in after I picked out my color. I got the new gel/shallac stuff and its really hard to pick out the color because they are in solid color bottles with just a small window for the color to show. It was 30 bucks for manicure and color which is 10 more than the basic one. One plus was that it didn't chip for almost a week and a half and typically mine chip within the first 3 days. The woman who did my nails was very meticulous and did a great job. I will probably go back again for the same even though it was a little pricey. I don't really like how crowded it was though. Listen and believe all the bad reviews! Until there is change no one should get a pedicure there. I took my friend there Sunday for her first ever pedicure. We sat side by side. Either one of us had anything added in the water. We soaked in just pain water which is a first time for me ever. The two women talked the whole entire time we were getting our pedicures. The lady that was doing my pedicure use the metal thing to scrub the bottom of my feet. The lady doing my friends pedicure did not and I even asked her if she did and she said yes and I know she didn't she lied right straight to my face. They didn't put cotton between my friends toes so by the time we got out the door the toenail polish was already messed up! I had one piece of cotton between my toes. Usually they run cotton between every toe in other pedicure establishments. I will never ever patronize this business again. I have been there in the past and it is totally gone downhill since the last time I was there. This place is an above average nail salon with technicians who actually speak english. They use the electric hand warmers that warms up your hand and the lotion for extreme moisturizing. The nail colour selection is great, with mostly OPI selections. The service is good and they did a careful job of cleaning up the fingers. read more

This is a nice place to get nails done or facial waxing that you need. Though it costs a little more for nails, it is a very relaxed environment. It is nice and clean. The chairs are comfortable and the wait is usually not that long. The staff are nice and will talk to you. They are gentle with waxing. When I got my eyebrows done today, they were careful not to yank the wax out of my brows as other places had done. After my waxing was complete the staff made sure to use a nice moisterizer. For waxing the price is similar to other places. This was a nice place to have eyebrows waxed. Children are welcome. read more

Despite negative reviews here on Yelp, I have been here about 6 times and I've never left disappointed. I do, however, notice a general rude type of people who come here to get their nails done, e.g. some of those who have left reviews here most likely. Each time I've been here, I've witnessed obnoxious, pretentious customers who are just downright disrespectful to the staff here for absolutely no reason. Bossing the staff around and treating them like they are idiots because they may not have such a grasp on the English language. I've seen this three different times on three different visits, so it makes me think it probably happens often. It makes me mad that people act like this. I've never seen a staff member be rude to anyone here at all. This is my 1st and last time coming to this place. I needed a mani/pedí ASAP and end up here and I am very disappointed with the service. A regular pedicure is $28 but to remove callus like any other place does they want to charge an extra $5... Crazy!!!! The technician definitely didn't want to be doing her job. The best part of a pedicure is usually the massage and it was completely mediocre. The nail polish job was horrible. Definitely the worse pedicure in a long time! Never again. DONT NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, UNCLEAN, OVERPRICED, BAD WAIT!!!!! Went here with two friends of mine. Friend 1 for a fill along with me and another for a full set. I normally go to Princess Nail Bar up the street for fills which take about 30 min and only cost 25 bucks but my friend recommended this place. I sit down at 4:10 and a I had a broke nail so the lady decided to soak it for 30 MINUTES meanwhile the lady buzzed two nails (not even removing all of the color) then she leaves me and starts to clean the place walking by me over and over again. I ask the man working on a girl next to me and said that doesn't do nails ( 25 minutes later she started to work on acrylics for a woman two seats down from me) Now 10 more minutes go by my broken nail is all off and my friend who has her fill is done now and the one who got a full set is halfway through. (2 people had already walked into the shop. Got their nails done and had paid and left) Now the guy who is working on a girl next to me starts to work on my nails WITH THE SAME TOOLS he used in her WITHOUT sanitizing them. He is working on our nails at the same time with the same tools. Eventually he finished her and moved me to his seat and counties to work while the dust from her nails and skin were STILL on the table underneath my hands (fungal infection am I right?). Everything is getting better until I realize two of my nails are completely crooked and shorter than the others. I tell him and he jokingly says "it looks good that way" and doesn't even bother to fix them after I tell him again. He finishes up my nails at 5:45, remind you I got there at 4:10. And friend 2 who got a full set got one of her fingers cut and a bad paint job and had to get it redone by another lady before we left. After waiting more than an hour, unclean tools, workers not willing to fix my nails I had to pay $45 for a fill!! Don't waste your money and just go to Princess Nail Bar beside the Bjs and Applebee's in Brier Creek. It was a great experience at first. But when it was time for me to pay I was I formed rudely that they actually only do cash and next time I have to call in advance if I want to use my credit card. And as I was paying two of my nails were already smudged and the person put a fresh coat and told me to keep it under the light for a minute. I did 2 1/2 minutes to make sure it wasn't gonna happen again. It's been 8 hours and almost all of them are smudged or the polish has come off. I paid $45 for this horrible fill in. $45 is literally what a whole new set would cost me somewhere else. The person also rushed with my nails even though there was no one waiting to be seen. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE PLEASE!!!! First let me start by telling you about what they did to me 3 years ago. I used to go here quite frequently three years ago with my aunt because it was always her treat and she only wanted to go here because she loved the decor so much. They were all always nice back then but not one of them there could do a French manicure to save their life and no one there could do any kind of designs, wouldn't even try, and I did sit with every manicurist there! And and most of them filed my nails so negligently that three or four of my fingers were always left bleeding!!! Not only were the French tips always crooked, two or three of the nails were always extremely crooked also. And if you asked them to fix it they would get very passive aggressive. They also never cleaned any of their instruments (and still don't). So many times I watched them use instruments on one person then when I sat down they pick them up and use them on me without even wiping them off (which I'm pretty sure is against the law). Well during the last time I went there, before today, I decided to get a pedicure there which I hadn't done there before. I watched them finish up with the person that was in the chair before me and as usual they didn't clean anything. They didn't clean the foot tub, they didn't clean or get new instruments, they didn't even get a new pumice stone, which I'm pretty sure is where my problem began! When the pedicure began she did the absolute least until she got to the pumice stone. Maybe it was because she was so distracted talking to her friends but she scrubbed my feet like she was trying to rip the skin off and did so much longer than anyone had before! I was never allowed to complain as a child so I just toughed it out even after I started to cry. 2 weeks later my first planters wart appeared. For those who don't know, planters warts are a VERY pain incurable skin disease. Which is only spreadable when oil from an infected persons infected area gets into an open wound on someone else's foot. I never would have returned if my boyfriend hadn't got me a gift certificate on Valentine's Day. I figured it's been 3 years they must have changed their ways or how else would they still be in business... I was wrong!!! When I went in I told them I wanted gel nail. They said oh you mean gel polish. I said no I want gel nails. They said what you mean gel nails, you want polish that is gel or you want full set (A full set is acrylic nails). I looked at her confused and said no I want the nails that are made from the gel. She huffed and said ok so you want a full set gel. I looked at her confused again and said politely "ok if that's gel nails". Then she said angrily "OK go pick out your polish" While I was looking at the VERY limited selection of polishes a man came up to me and asked if I needed help once I realize he was going to be my nail technician I asked him if he could do designs because I really wanted the Eiffel Tower. At first he pretended not to know what the Eiffel tower was. so I googled it to show him a picture. before I even showed him the picture, him and his friend laughed at me and said if we do that for you it will just be three little lines that look like a capital A. So I asked him if he could do any design and again he laughed and said no nobody can. So I said "no that's not true my friends get designs on their nails all the time. I myself can do designs just not on myself". Then I just chose a color. I chose the only metallic color they had a rose gold (which is a pink gold and just happens to be my favorite color) I also wanted to get a glitter nail on each hand, but I couldn't decide between gold and pink. After a lot of back and forth the guy tells me "I think it will look better with the gold" but my favorite color is pink so I chose pink! We sat there in complete silence for most of the time because he never tried to start a conversation with me. Then I tried to start a conversation with him about trying to learn how to do design. But he and his friend just began to make fun of me about the "Eiffel tower" again. So I tried to ignore the fact that they were making fun of me and tried to give him good advice like how he could charge $5 a nail if he could do design and he could advertise on Facebook. But he just kept answering with rude comments. My middle fingers on both hands are crooked. I asked him to align the nail with my real nail (which they never ever did in the past either even when I asked). He did it right on 1 finger but not the other! After he finished applying the nail polish it was obvious that the metallic color he put on me was not the color I chose, rose gold, it was a dark gold. So it didn't match the pink. I mentioned it and he angrily told me "I told you it wouldn't look right" (which he did not!). Then I asked if he wouldn't mind taking off the pink & doing gold. After he took off the pink he told me they didn't have the gold!!! read more

i wish i could give this place 0 stars. i went in this afternoon to get my acrylics taken off. the woman that helped me sat down and pulled out a pair of nail clippers? i proceeded to ask her not to cut them that i wanted them soaked off to keep the length of my natural nail. she said "well that will take a long time" uh yeah and i'm paying for it? she took out the electric nail file and aggressively filed them. and this was all done on the bare counter, with no towel or cleaning beforehand. she came back with a bowl of acetone and left me sitting there for 30 minutes while she sat on her phone across the room. when she came back she filed them with the electric file again. and left acrylic all over my nails. When i asked her to file them more she told me she couldn't because they were too thin (not true she was just lazy). and STOOD AT THE REGISTER AND PICKED THE REST OFF MY NAILS. they asked for my card. the payment (10$) went through (i got a notification on my phone) they proceeded to tell me it didn't go through. she had another lady come over. charged my card again. i got both receipts and left. i won't be back to this place. they're rude, and don't even know how to take off acrylic nails. gently. the only way i'll ever be back is for a refund if my card processes the transaction twice. this place is a nightmare. there's still acrylic on my nails after paying to get them removed, i only came to get them removed without damaging my natural nails, but after this i wish i would have just ripped them off myself. read more

I'm sorry to say that this is going to be a poor review :( I was a regular at Tips 2 Toes because I loved Hannah. She was extremely detailed and took her time, she was perfect for what I was looking for as far as customer service goes. I too work in the service industry and I pride myself on good customer service. Unfortunately for me EVERYONE loves Hannah so she got a ton of regular requests and I could not get in with her too often given my busy schedule I could never make an appointment, so I was a walk in client only. So one day I was set to fly out the next morning and I got off late from work and ran over to tips 2 goes to get a mani, pedi. I know they close at 8, but if you choose to take a client at 7:00, then please give them the service they deserve. I am after all paying full price! The woman who did my service was EXTREMELY RUDE! She rushed through the entire thing, almost taking off skin as she rubbed the scrub so hard into my legs, I told her that was painful and she said "sorry! Next time will be better"! after MAYBE 20 min on my pedi she quickly shoved me over to the mani side. I already felt rushed, uneasy, and sore on my legs. Literally she burned my cuticle with how hard she was filing and gave me the worst manicure I have ever gotten. I for sure thought she would charge me less, seeing how she said next time will be better. I paid full price and left 3 months later....I'm in the same situation. This time I go to 3 other nail salons before ending back up to Tips 2 Toes, but everyone was an hour wait. I had to get a mani, I had a wedding the next day. I sat down and told the woman I would like SNS she starting putting tips on my nails that I did not ask for and told me my nails were too short, I was like umm okay. I work with my hands to I like my nails short but she insisted so I sat and watched. She dipped and filed, dipped and filed, dipped and filed and my nail bed was on fire! I asked her why so many times and she stopped and said, " I'm gonna do over, I don't like the way this looks", thank god my friend was there or no one would ever believe this! She actually wanted me to sit there for another hour to do acrylic nails which I did not want nor did I have time for. She then said to me, "okay then you go with this!" Which looked horrible! She told me NOT TO LOOK TOO CLOSE AT MY NAILS! then tried charging me full price! And then said to come back on Monday and she'll charge me HALF PRICE to redo them!!!! I was literally laughing, I said let me get this straight, you're going to charge me an acrylic price for a horrible job, then charge me when I come back to get them redone!?!? I couldn't believe it. I gave her $30.00 in cash and said this is only for your time. I am not paying for this!!! So I left in shock and I will never be returning again. I've been coming to tips to toes for years but the last two times were just awful. I got a gel manicure ($30) both times where they cut too deep into my cuticle making me bleed, and not caring to be extra careful with the finger they cut. Instead of asking me to take off my bracelets, the woman just didn't massage one of my arms and did my hand instead; with my ring on it processing to twist it around aggressively while "massaging" my fingers.
