I went into Cary Nails yesterday evening Sept 4th. I got gel polish on my nails with a design on all fingers. I was pleased with the way that it appeared but I went home and within two hours my nail chipped! Gel Polish should at the very least last one week so clearly the polish was a faulty product. Not to mention it chipped while I was putting in a ponytail; not playing football. I went in first thing today Sept 5th to speak with the lady about this. She was finishing the only customer that was in there and sent me to pick a polish. I began looking for a different brand of polish as the other was clearly faulty. The woman realized this and told me that I needed to get the same polish and she was only going to fix the one nail. I explained to her that if the polish chipped so easily, it clearly was faulty and I wanted a different brant polish.
She began raising her voice saying that she is not going to change the polish just because I don't like the style. I said I do like the style, I just don't like the quality. She said fine I will change the polish but I will not design your nails! I said that is fine but at least give me back the extra that I paid to get my nails designed. She said No, I don't make any money off of that. I said of coarse you don't make any extra money off of me when you gave me a faulty product! I said I don't even have to have my nails done, you can take it off and give me my money back! She said if you want your money back then come later when the manager is here, but even if you got your hair done you cannot just get your money back because you don't like it! I said first off when you get your hair done, you can see the quality right away and if they butcher your hair, you don't pay for it. Secondly I liked the style but the quality is clearly faulty. She kept acting as if I was trying to get over on her.
I came back at noon and waited for the manager as she stated. The manager spoke English with me at first and then pretended as if he suddenly didn't speak it when his daughter came up. Just as I began to state that I had come the day before and the polish had chipped within two hours; the young lady abruptly and disrespectfully barked at me saying "that is your fault!" I looked at her and said are you the manager? she said no, I am their child. I said ok and resumed talking to the actual manager stating that it chipped by me just putting in a ponytail. The girl again jumped in and said "Well you shouldn't have put the ponytail in!" I said are you serious? I said, I would like to finish speaking the matter before being jumped at. The girl seamed to realize what she had done, but did not change her disrespectful composure. I explained that I am not just asking for my money back, I had come to look for a nail spot in the area, I wanted to choose a better quality brand polish. They began speaking in whatever language back and forth and I stated, if you have something to state about this matter, I would like to be involved in the conversation. I said it is not as if I don't like the style and want it redone. The girl jumped again and said "No! we will not redo your nails just because you don't like it." I said are you even listening to me? I just said that was NOT the case. The girl said that this is not their fault, it is a faulty product. I said clearly you are not listening to me, That is exactly what I have been saying. All I want is a different brand polish. I also stated that the way I was treated was detestable. She began on a sob story about how her mom is pregnant working hard. I said ok, I'm pregnant too so what. She said we will only do the one nail over and if you want to use a different polish you can. I said I am not walking around with one nail painted different; also, what happens when in two more hours another chips? She shrugged her shoulders like this was my problem.
The manager who suddenly couldn't speak English went and grabbed the measly 25 bucks that I paid and told the girl to give it to me. She was clearly arguing about having to give it to me and then finally gave me the ugliest look and all but tossed the money at me. The man who was pretending to not speak English suddenly regained his capability and told me to not come back. I said if this is how you treat people, you don't have to worry about me EVER going back!
People would describe me as a very kind person, but I do stand for justice. I was not treated fairly one bit! I have never been treated with so much disrespect in my life. I am blessed to say that money is not an issue for me; any business person would be able to clearly identify this and at least begin to see that I am not trying to get over or cheat anyone out of anything. I just want to be treated with the common decent respect that everyone deserves.
Needless to say, this is the worst experience that I have EVER had at ANY service based business! And I do not recommend that ANYONE subject themselves to this type of treatment. read more
