I have been coming to Chic Nails in Cary, NC for over two years since moving in to the area. There have been a handful of techs who have worked on my nails and they are all excellent. Whenever you get your nails done here, you will leave with perfect looking, beautiful nails, and they offer all of the new technology, colors, designs and services. I have gone a month or longer without coming in and my nails still look good, all intact and no chipping of the polish (gel polish). I have never had a bad experience here because they honestly care about you walking away satisfied with their work and will go out of their way to make sure they give you the best service. It's a lovely salon, they are clean and hygienic. The atmosphere in the salon is all good vibes, always. Very disappointed with the direction this place is headed in. I've been going here for years, since they opened. I went in for a new dip powder and was rushed. My nail tech kept getting up to tend to other patrons and other matters. Within a couple of days the dip had stress cracks in multiple nails and one of them cracked completely in half and the corner fell off. I called and went back in to have her repair it. I was on limited time, as I was just there a few days ago and don't have time to carve out a nail appointment every few days. I would hope that my nails would be done correctly on the one day that I've scheduled every 2-3weeks. She seemed to be on limited time as well as she barely spoke to me and rushed through it yet again. I few days later another corner fell off and stress cracks everywhere. I was out of town so I called two days later when I returned. I was told that since it's been exactly 1 week, they would not cover it, I told the young lady that was fine. At this point I just want the whole dip soaked off and re-done, and I would pay because I can't keep coming back every few days for one nail here, one nail there. She asked me what did I do to my nails. I told her that I hadn't done anything different, no excessively hot water, I hadn't hit them in anything but I let her know that I had never done this color before it and maybe it's that particular brand or a combination of that and rushing during application but all the nails now had stress cracks all throughout. I must have struck a nerve when pointing out that my service was rushed because she snapped at me saying that she didn't rush me and suggested that I come in and get my nails fixed and then find someone else to service me after that. I was shocked because like I said I had been going to her for years and she truly did rush me both times which wasn't even my original complaint, I completely understand being busy and truly understand that occasionally I may receive a rushed appointment. That's why I didn't say anything about it on both of those visits. Rushing me only became part of the issue once it was established that it compromised the quality of the nail service that I paid for. The quality shouldn't be altered because of it. I really couldn't believe the way she snapped at me when I didn't do anything wrong but point out what could have caused the issue, only after she asked me what could have been causing all the nail cracking. Needless to say I didn't go back. She was clearly very upset so it was better to just remove myself. Very unfortunate situation. read more

Very disappointed in our recent experience at this nail salon. We dropped my mother off for gel pedicure and manicure -- my mom doesn't speak english well and got massively oversold on a treatment. My sister had just gotten her nails done y'day (mani/pedi with gel) and so we brought our mom in today for a mani/pedi with gel (same thing) but were charged a lot more -- apparently my mom (who doesn't speak english) was oversold/upsold services massively without understanding or knowing what she was selecting. read more

bruh this place doesn't have good quality. i just wanted a regular removal for gelx, wasn't expecting anything crazy but when the nail tech said i was done and i was washing my hands i still got leftover gel on it and hard stuff on my fingers. no cuticle oil either. it was like 15 bucks but the service wasn't even completed. read more

The inside of this establishment is very cute, it feels welcoming but very compacted. If you're claustrophobic , don't come here. I came in here with no appointment at 12:45p on a Friday and they were able to sit me down. The place was very packed. The service I wanted was a simple manicure. I chose a cool color and I just mainly wanted my nails shaped and my cuticle tamed. I chose regular nail polish because I don't want to have this color on my nails for a long time. I've been getting gel x fill ins for the longest time at a different salon but I got a new position at work that isn't suitable for nails. So a lady sits me down and she is prepping my nails. She says "why don't you get gel?" And I said her that I didn't like gel and she said that it will last me a much longer time.. great that's what I'm trying to avoid. She goes on and on about how gel is so much better than regular nail polish and how I need to choose gel. I explain my reasoning of why I don't want gel after her saying that I need to get gel 7 different times and she looked at me like I was crazy, 1 eyebrow up, 1 eyebrow down and mouth open, absolutely silent. It was so insulting. I've never had any technician look at me like that and I've been to many nail salons. She says how long do you want it on? And I said "just 2-3 days" and she said "it's not even going to last that long, it last one day, gonna be chipped." (Is that a threat?) And I said "that should be fine, thank you for telling me" So she puts my hands down and she grabs the card payment thing and she says "it'll be $27" and I said "now?" And she said yes.. we're in the middle of the procedure and my nails aren't painted yet.. and then she doesn't speak to me for the rest of the time. She was gentle with my hands at-least, super rushed though. Can I just get regular nail polish without a technician looking at me so dumb? I felt like Anyways, this place gets 2 stars, 1 for the place being cute and then 1 for the OTHER lady who smiled at me and made me feel a little better. read more

I had an average pedicure. I waited a while for a chair and then waited a bit more for a technician on a Thursday night. I did not have a reservation so was a walk-in. I had the basic pedicure and the lady did a good job. The polish did start to chop off after two weeks so it didn't last as long as I would have liked. After my pedicure, it was also closing time at 7pm and most of the staff was leaving and cleaning up. My technician brought the machine over to pay and I paid and waited s bit longer to dry my toenails. I then proceeded to leave and another employee rushed after me in the parking lot asking if I had paid. I don't like being chased as if I had but paid for something. I paid and tipped and this was miscommunication on their part. I won't be back after this. read more

I came to Chic Nails to get my gel nails removed. While some things I noticed had me raising my eyebrows, bottom line is the gel was removed well at a good price so I'm giving four stars. The person who removed my gel polish did a good job of filing only the polish off. It came off evenly and the file never touched my natural nails. I don't really like the clips that some nail techs use to keep the nail soaked with acetone, so I appreciate that he was able to wrap my fingertips securely with foil. He offered to shape and cut my nails afterwards and they looked great. My only complaint is that the guy who removed my polish didn't take precautions to keep the filed off powder away from skin, and it ended up all over both of our hands. My normal nail places will brush the powder away or use a special ventilation system to suck the power away. Since I know it isn't good for skin to be exposed to gel polish, I hope that that is a precaution they can take in the future for both the nail techs and clients. read more

Probably one of the best pedicures I've received in the Carolinas. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive and is very focused on delivering quality of work. The price was at the higher end, but the work shows and I didn't have a problem because of it. Appointments are suggested. They have a wide variety of drinks and, here's the best part, MOCKTAILS. They are so accommodating with our being pushy. I am a fairly new transplant to NC Life and I have found this salon to be incredibly thorough and more than a bit fair in their business practices. I had a full set of acrylics put on 12/29 and within a matter of 4-days total I lost 6 nails, but feel it's because I have very fragile nail growth underneath and DO NOT attribute that to any fault of staff at the salon. Nonetheless, they graciously took their time and replaced all 6 nails--subbing tips and acrylic for Gel-X instead and never charged me a dime for the 2 return visits that this took. The only cost to me was for my time and patience. I would highly recommend anyone consider this delightful salon with a very professional crew!! read more

The worse pedicure and salon experience I've ever had. I selected the deluxe jelly pedi: it lasted 17 minutes total, the massage was about 90 seconds on each foot (yes, I timed it). My nails weren't filed even and the polish application is embarrassing. Amazing work done by your one and only B mannn she makes it happen I will always recommend her ... So to start off I was welcome and offer a drink and due to Ms.B being a little busy I didn't mind for Q to start my nails he did an awesome job with the shape however when it came down to applying the powder gel it was a roller coaster bumps and when I ask for him to fix his mistakes he replied that it's look good to him and I wanted to cry but because B did my feet and I let her fell and told her I didn't like how it was done she automatically told him about his mistakes and fix it and for that I love her as my nail tech.I can honestly say the 165 was worth it read more

I have been going here for maybe a year now, and I absolutely love this place. This is my go-to spot for both my hands and my feet. In the past, I would go to 2 different locations, as I'm very particular. This is a very friendly environment, and the drinks they offer, "mocktails + alcoholic," are lovely. There's a diverse range of customers, which is great not to just see 1 race, especially in Cary, NC. Even though the prices are higher than places I've been to in the past, it's totally worth it as they're hands-on, professional, with a clean environment. I'm new to the area and had an appointment booked at another salon. Unfortunately a snow storm hit and cancelled my appointment, so I had to wait a day and my original salon was booked. Anyway I ended up at this salon. I want to start by saying the technicians are all kind but the work I received was bad. The molding of my nails were very lumpy and this, I asked would she smooth it and she said yes. The nail places I've gone to smooth out the foundation with a brush, then perfect it with the drill. She used the drill trying to fix a botched foundation. Around my cuticle, the nail was so thick and didn't look natural. I gave a 2 because my feet felt and looked good after my pedicure. This nail shop is AWFUL and makes a trap for customers, NO PROFESSIONAL, pricing kept going up whenever I'm going back!!!! And always need to charge for repair (even just for a couple of days for done) and always changed professional and good nail techs. Here's my experience & stories, before I make an appointment for Jenna, she was nice to talk to me and gel polish stays longer, than one the day they said she had the day off, and don't know when she was coming back to work, let another nail tech to taking care of me when I requested Jenna, passing the time they told me the same when I'm going back again. Then. They told me she was quiet, and let someone else takes care of me. That's fine the first time issued like that, I felt sad, but I still let it go. The rest of the the time I had Nemo. She's really good at massage, OMG..her hand is amazing cause she doing the reflexology massage, a nice girl to talk to, and a real professional doing my nails no joke looks natural and stays longer than they're doing the same issue AGAIN!!! But this time is more AWFUL!!! Last week I make an appointment for me and my sis, but I make an appointment with Nemo and the lady picked up the phone say ok, but she didn't tell me anything about her not come in back to work or quitting anything!!! But when I came..they told me to need to wait and then...they told me she's had the day off don't know when she's come in back to work!!!! I have been waiting a long time with my sis and we make an appointment still need to wait, then my sis asked me what was different about Making an appointment or walk-in still needs to be a long time for waiting like that, really makes me speechless and so embarrassed!!!!! The lady told me they let another nail tech to taking care of me this time, next time let Nemo do my nails, I'm really mad about this!!!! But I need my nails done!!!! But I do DISAPPOINT is....they charge me ALMOST $180 WITHOUT $TIP$ for DIPPING(SNS)ONLY(use real nails no nail tips )for me and my sis!!!!!!!!! That was REALLY FUCKIN CRAZY!!!!!!! And they always can find good excuses to explain to you, and the lady when she explained to me SO RUDE, it looks like if you don't like it you can go somewhere else, and NO PATIENT to talk to you!!!!!! And the nails are thick and the cuticles are not clean very well!!!! ALL COMES OFF IN A COUPLE OF DAYS EASILY!!!!!!! I use the buffer Nemo was giving to me, buffer them out let them grow up!!!!! I came here with my sister recently for pedicures. We were able to get an appointment on a Saturday with just a couple hours' notice which was really nice. They are VERY clean, and they took care to make sure people/pairs were socially distanced. All staff and customers were wearing masks, and they take your temperature at the door. They have a really great selection of pedi variations, and they even have cocktails to complete the experience! I got one of the more basic options, but my technician did a great job and was very efficient. So far it's been a week and my toes still look great. I was really surprised to see 3 men come in for pedicures too! I'd say that's a good sign. This will definitely be the go-to spot for sister pedi dates from now on! read more

Very Unprofessional! Went for a friends birthday and they totally ruined it forums. We added 20 minutes of massage. There was no massage done properly. Then they painted nails and went off. Nobody said anything. Nobody greeted us nothing. When we complained about the poor customer service and the 2 employees were talking about themselves - we were told they will call the police. There were video camera so they said we have a report here - and we were told not to come here again. This was the very unprofessional salon. If they think that we as customers cannot complain and if we do complain they would call the cops then I am ready to talk to cops - I am not afraid to speak up for a poor service! Please DO NOt go to this place if you care about equality. I travelled 25 minutes to this place because I had given great service in the past but not today. There was no quality in massage when I asked if I can get real massage, and they said I need to go to professional massage therapist if I need massage. Another customer on the next seat was given a good massage and I was not. When I asked for massage I was told that is what is taught in the school. Just because I am brown if they threw me out of the shop without giving service and asking me to not pay because they don't want to give any service, it is unacceptable. The person did not touch my feet when he put 6 minute time for massage. He only put lotion on my calf and did not put any pressure even though I repeatedly ask him to. They said I hurt the person who is giving me service but they did not clearly saw me crying and hurt. The owner (he declared himself) said leave you will not get any service and you don't need to pay. I hope people read my message and don't go to this place that don't treat all people equally.
