I started coming to Chadni's years ago to get my eyebrows threaded after being referred by a friend. Originally, I just came because it was the closest Chadni's to my house. Now, I come from Greenville because the service is amazing and they never make my eyebrows too thin. They always leave my brows perfectly rounded with no strays. The inside is clean and calming and all the staff members are exceptionally kind and professional. I use to love coming here to do my brows but I went recently today (Christmas eve) and the wait was long which is understandable there was a lot of people waiting but whenever I did get to my turn it felt like I was being rushed and my eyebrows came out uneven! (This review is just for the eyebrow threading.) I don't have a particular threader, I just go with whomever is available next and all the women there are excellent! They're great threaders, very quick, and they don't try to push other services on you. There's nothing more annoying than having a threader ask you, "Are you sure you don't want your upper lip done too?" And you can't beat $7 for some great looking brows! There can be a decent wait on Friday evenings and weekend mornings/afternoons, so try to go at off hours. read more

In the same way that I wonder who decided to pop corn kernels... And who discovered cows could be milked... I wonder who decided one day to try attacking facial hair with a piece of string. And it wasn't just curiosity killing the cat(terpillar) brows; it was also the fact that my CLT colleague has perfectly shaped arches, and revealed her secret to me: Threading. Today, I found myself seated at Chandni's for my very first threading. I'd watched a DIY video, so I had an idea of how the actual threading would commence. But beyond that, wasn't sure what to expect. For first-timers, here's a quick tip: you will be touching your face, and pulling your skin taut for the technician, so make sure your hands are clean before visiting, and that you haven't been chewing on your cuticles (like I embarrassingly have). The whole process took about 5 minutes, with several passes over each brow, and even the finer surrounding hairs, plus some trimming with the scissors. To me, it seemed more painful than waxing, although Sula did mention my skin was 'very sensitive', so maybe it doesn't feel as tender to other folks. I do like that it's not wasteful. And I have to say my brows do look pretty precise. $7 is also less than half of what I pay for waxing! I might be sold. Chandni's has gotten so popular, they've opened locations in Raleigh and Morrisville... I hope Durham is next! read more

Since moving here about a month ago the last thing I had time for were my eyebrows. When even I was becoming embarrassed and my way cool glasses were not hiding them successfully, I knew it was time for a cleaning/shaping. Thanks to all the Yelpers (thanks guys) I knew Chandni's was the place for me. As I settled myself down for a 7 minute threading, the very nice woman inquired how I came to Chandni as it is immediately obvious to anyone with whom I speak that I am not a native. I told her that the place came highly recommended and she said, "Yelp, yes?" The woman who did my threading was friendly and quite solicitous. She made sure I was comfortably seated through-out the process and satisfied with the results. I was and I was.....nuff said. PS. I wanted to add that it is now 7 years later and I'm still going to Chandni's (in Cary) and the most wonderful woman has been doing my eyebrows for the last 6 of those years. Her name is Sula and I can't say enough positive things about her. She is friendly, caring and an expert at her craft. I read another reviewer was not as satisfied with Sula as I am and all I can say is to maybe give her another shot. Very interesting... this place only caters to ladies. As if only ladies get their eyebrows done. I don't think I've ever been to a place that has straight turned me down because of my gender. And the worst part is that they had ZERO business, so taking me in wouldn't have been a problem. Three ladies "working"... all of them sitting down and talking. These beautiful ladies know their stuff when it comes to the art of eyebrow threading!! Yes it is an ART! There is nothing worse than someone having bad brows! This location offers facials, skin care, and hair services. I have been a fan of their threading services for atleast 4 years now. I have also recommended them to a few of my friends. They are very fast!! I am usually in and out within 10 minutes, and this is at either location I visisted. The Cary and Raleigh location are my 2 favorites!!! I love this place- I wish I lived in NC and could be a regular customer! My eyebrows are naturally not similarly shaped and every other threading place usually just goes with it. Not here though! Here they always manage to work their magic and make my eyebrows look thick and similarly shaped! The best part- it's the least painful threading I've had since I was a teenager! This lady took more than half my eyebrow off. She didn't even ask me how much to thread. She told me it would fill in as it grew. I turned up today for a haircut, having called a week earlier to set up an appointment with Melinda. She only works on the weekends, and had already left on the day I called, so I made an appointment for 6 days later. I turned up at the appointed time and a really blank looking woman at the counter informed me that Melinda was ill. Then another lady who works there said she had given Melinda my number, and that she should have called me. I was livid, as I had driven over 15 miles to get there. I should also say that I've been to this salon over 20 times in the last couple of years- so they know my face. This means nothing though. The person who was at the counter left to thread someone else's eyebrows, and I could elicit no sensible response from anyone at the salon, except that Melinda wasn't there. Not even an apology, or an acknowledgement that these people were very inconsiderate. I sympathise with Melinda for suddenly falling ill, but these people at the salon knew and didn't inform me. They had my number enough to give it to her but directly telling the person who had called to make an appointment with them didn't seem to have crossed their minds. I called a day later to ask if they cared they were going to lose a client, and the woman on the phone was extremely rude, saying she would tell her manager, but it has been 3 weeks and not a squeak from them. Clearly they have too much business to be caring about treating even semi-regular customers decently. Melinda gave me a great haircut one time but there is no way I am going back after this atrocious behavior. There are plenty of salons giving good haircuts in the triangle. There are also plenty of places which thread eyebrows very well and for the same price or less. Ask me- I've compiled a list so I never have to deal with these inconsiderate people ever again and I am happy to share it with you. read more

Not really knowing what to expect, I walked in at the behest of the lovelies here at Yelp in order to save my face from two fuzzy caterpillars marching angrily across my forehead. I was greeted at the door by Shilpa herself, who is the owner of the salon. Her first words to me were, "Here for an eyebrow threading?" I don't know how she ever could have guessed! The caterpillars trembled in fear as I sat down in a comfy chair, leaned back, and was politely directed to hold my skin taut. Shilpa then made short work of the caterpillars. The whole thing took a couple of minutes. Threading is very nice, being that it doesn't use chemicals, waxes, or anything that produces waste. It stings less than waxing, to boot. I got it done about half an hour ago as of this writing, and my eyebrows don't hurt a bit. I've had my eyebrows shaped a few times, but, point blank, this was the best experience I've ever had. My eyebrows look great. I will be back the next time I let the caterpillars go a-marchin' again. By the way, folks, she's considering opening on Mondays, so if you want to stop by -- do so. read more

I've had a great experience every time I go. The staff is very professional and skilled and friendly, prices are reasonable, and the facility and all the procedures are exceptionally clean. The part I like most about this is how respectful the staff and owner are to Muslim women, particularly those who wear headcoverings. When they did their renovation a year or so ago, they built a very elegant second wall between the door/waiting area and the service area. I asked the staff why, and they said it was that they had so many Muslim women customers and they wanted to respect their privacy. So respectful! The salon is women-only, the blinds are always drawn, and there are various full and half walls that keep you covered. I've never felt uncomfortable walking around in the salon between getting things done with my scarf tied loosely. Highly, highly recommended. read more

I have nearly always been to mall kiosks to have my eyebrows threaded. As a person with dark eyebrows, I swear by this method over waxing or plucking for the accuracy and relative painlessness (still painful), but practitioners were few and far between in my former North Shore MA locale. I swear, having curious onlookers peering over me as they sauntered from Abercrombie to Delia's, or Macy's to Pottery Barn, accentuated my pain three-fold as I tried to ignore them. I was thus thrilled to find a local business in the Triangle that specializes in threading. I walked in and was immediately greeted by two women, one of whom could take me right away. She was relatively perfunctory, spoke minimally, and got right down to business. When I asked for talcum powder for my fingertips, she offered it in a sweet little bowl that may not have been the most sanitary method but was charming all the same. She worked quickly, and despite a couple of communication issues about when to assist her as she worked, it was done in just five minutes. I've suffered under the hands of slower workers for more than ten minutes, so this was a bonus. They charge an extra dollar for credit cards, so I recommend you bring cash and add the extra dollar to the tip. I will definitely visit Chandni's on a regular basis. read more

Chandni's is an Indian-owned salon that caters to the large Indian community in Cary. However, they provide a great service at a really great price. It's not as fancy or she she as some of the other places but, then again, you get what you pay for. I found this place after a trip to NYC where, for the first time ever, I got my eyebrows threaded. I had never even heard of it before that trip. When I returned home I found Chandni's, the only place in the area that provides this service. The aestheticians are very skilled. I've only had a bikini wax and eyebrow threading done so far, but now that I'm on their email list I may try one of the facial specials I read about online. read more

The threading area is partitioned off from the wait area. I went back to Chandni's right before my wedding and had a repeat of the great service I received the first time! Their waxer was leaving and was training her replacement, so asked me if I minded having someone observe. I did not mind, and both ladies made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. Another note: Check their website for specials before you go. They put something on a really good special every month -- whether that's waxing, skin treatments, massage, or something else. I just checked their website in preparation to make another appointment, and noticed that they have opened a new, threading-only location at Creedmoor and Millbrook in Raleigh (trianglebrows.com). I can't believe I have never written a review about this place!! I go here pretty often for the upper lip threading. They are very professional, fast and affordable. $3 for my upper lip to be sparkly clean and moustache less??!?! YES PLEASE. They are also very nice. I pretty much cry everytime I get it done and they do try to hurry up to make the experience less traumatizing. I've also been here for waxings and it's pretty good. It's cheaper than any of the other places but the ambiance isn't like a real spa. They get it done and you are out. They only use soft wax btw. read more

This review is only for waxing and threading services. I highly recommend this place to my friends as I've been coming here since January 2010 :) I usually get my threading done by Seema and waxing by Melinda. I really like most of the staff at this place (and this is their only location where I don't see a new face every time I walk in and I can rely on consistent service). They're warm and welcoming.Most of them are not too chatty and do not chew my ears off with their personal life sob-stories - so that's a plus. There is a surcharge of $1 to pay with credit card for transactions under $15. The only reason I would not give it 5-star rating is because the communication skills of their employees who answer phone calls are almost terrible. It is very difficult for me to make an appointment, modify an existing appointment or cancel a specific part of my appointment. I really wish they would improve on that. Also, their new "iPad sign-in method" does not have any way to let the staff know that you're there for an appointment and not a walk-in. read more

I told the worker just to trim my eyebrows and she kept threading and cutting them. During the process I told her again not to make them too thin and she said okay. She kept threading and when she showed me my eyebrows my whole left eyebrow's edge was basically gone and my eyebrows came out twice as thin than when they came in. She did not listen at all and made them super thin despite the fact that I told her multiple times not to. She did not even trim the others hairs well she just thinned them down. Very bad service and I should not have paid. Unpleasant experience and spent 30 minutes there because she worked very slow without consideration for customers. Based on other Yelp reviews, the worker was Sula. If you go, do not let her do your eyebrows. Worst experience ever. read more

I have been going to Chandni's for over a year to get my eyebrows threaded. I have only had that service done there, so I can't speak for other services. But for eyebrows, they are great. Always friendly, always fast service, and very good price. I wish you could give salons different reviews for their different services. I'm a little torn what rating to leave...but I guess I'll base it on whether I'd go back to Chandni's. I'd give this place 5 stars for for their eyebrow and upper lip threading service. It's great, cheap, and they get you in-and-out - which is what I like. The woman did a great job shaping my outgrown brows. However - I got an underarm wax here and was extremely disappointed. I've gotten my underarms waxed for the past several years and have never had an issue. At Chandni's, they said they were using a wax that was for sensitive skin - I wonder if that meant it just wasn't as strong. While my underarm hair is probably on the thicker side of normal, I've never once been to a waxing service where they examined their service and said, "unfortunately, we couldn't pull out some of the hair" - WHAT? And it wasn't the fine baby underarm hair either. They basically left my underarms looking like a week's growth still remained. So - waxing = 0 stars for basically not doing the job. I looked a little while I was laying down, but I only saw how bad it was when I got home. I should have refused to pay for the service because it was essentially like I didn't receive a waxing there. So, I'd definitely go back for their threading service, but I won't try their waxing ever. read more

Like this place a LOT! It was super easy to make an appointment and get in the same day. When I arrived they were very friendly and she took me back immediately. You lay in a chair as she gets ready and then help her out a bit to get the skin pulled the perfect amount. I always break out after waxes and shared that with her and she made sure to give me the right products after she was done to help with the redness (my skin is sensitive, so it gets RED), and to prevent break outs. The threading was not nearly as annoying as other places I have been and much less painful than waxing. I feel it also gets a more perfect shape for the brows when you thread. They can then go back and get single hairs with tweezers to be sure the look is complete. Oh, and they even trim the overall length with shears. Before you know it, you're done - in and out in 5 minutes and for cheap!! read more
