The receptionist greet me and my daughter nicely. The lady (didn't catch her name) did my eyebrows and Brazilian she was really sweet and she did a ok job. Before I left the room she did mention to me the guy who's doing my massage is leaving soon. He greet me nicely but I personally did t like the massage I felt like he was rushing. On my notes I wrote I have lower back pain and to work more on my lower back And he didn't. I was very disappointed bc I was looking forward getting a good massage. I purchased a Groupon back in 21 for couples massage ... when I called to schedule an appointment I was told they don't book couples appointments at the moment. Since September 23, 2021 I am still waiting for someone to respond to me. Ive called and emailed over 20 times. My call and emails went unanswered, I had to just cut my losses. they have scammed me out of $120 for Groupon knowing damn well that they could not accommodate me. So far I have had such a great experience with Le Nu Spa. I found this place through Groupon 6 months ago and have come back to Le Nu 4 times already. The salon is small but very nice, clean and relaxing. I had facial treatments (galvanic facial as well as Bio needling) with Collette. She is Amazing ! Extremely knowledgeable of her trade. They use the most natural, organic anh high quality products for treatment. No harsh chemicals! I love it! I also took my teenager daughter there when she had the worse acne breakout. My daughter was very self conscious about her face. Collette was very sweet! While doing facial treatment, she took a conversational approach with my daughter that produced amazing results. My daughter walked out of salon happy and had few tips and tricks up to her sleeves to take care of her acne. A week or more later, my daughter face was all cleared from acne. This was my first time coming here, and it won't be my last that's for sure! I had a Groupon for a 60 minute Swedish massage- don't worry if you're not sure what to get as you can always specify what it is you're feeling, and the ladies here can navigate you to the right service for you. I arrived 5 minutes prior, but I recommend coming 10-12 minutes ahead especially to fill out the questionnaire. It's easy enough to follow with thorough questions such as, areas you'd like to avoid, previous concerns and/or health concerns. The staff actually read the questionnaire unlike other spas I've been too, and take into consideration what you want to focus on and what pressure you like/can handle. Extra awesome is the waiting area which has beverages in the event you need/want some before or maybe after your appointment i.e. water, tea or coffee. That's great and I love it especially post-massage work getting yourself extra hydrated to help with your muscles releasing tension etc. Health procautions are taken seriously with temperatures read prior to starting any part of the appointment, and masks stayed on the whole time (this might depend on your comfort for the massage I didn't ask at the time). Santizer is up at the front for before/after appointment as well. Magally- handled the who appointment excellently, and I really was able to relax (as much as you can when you've got the shoulder pain I do). She asked if the pressure levels were still okay which is so important if you have more tender areas than others- thank you! I went in for a collagen facial. I left out with a burn (1st degree) only thank goodness. It so painful. Everything was going ok, until the technician put some type of skin peel on my neck. I told her it was burning and she tried to wipe it off(not wash it off), with a dry towel. once it stop burning and I thought we were passed that stage, she puts it on again. This cause it to burn even worse. She kept dripping solution in the creases of my eye (which caused my eyes to burn). I've had plenty of facials before from more experience esthetician. They went back and forth with scheduling but got me very well accommodated with services lined up. Massage: this was relaxing, the therapist never asked me if the pressure was okay. That said, the pressure was fine and he is clearly talented. Mani-Pedi: Very well done, probably their best service of all the ones I got. I thought she was very good at detailing, clear about what I wanted from it and she totally delivered. The mani pedi is the reason they landed 3 stars. Ambience: let's just say when you spend the time and money to get a massage and go to get a "spa" experience, we expect to be relaxed. This is a cluttered, disorganized ambience. They do not have beer/wine (compared to competition in town), they have no lounge and they offer plush, warming robes (as opposed to towel based spa like robe). The facial was abysmal. I took a few days before reviewing the facial because it can take more time for skin to show the effect. This was just a wash-my-face with gels, washes, scrubs with some galvanizing tool. I'm at a zero difference on my skin issues. In general, this is a Meh place for massages and facials (because massage needs ambience and facial needs quality differences observed). If you have purchased a groupon for this place good luck. This place doesn't deserve 1star. I must admit, they took the necessary precautions for Covid-19. After that the visit got interesting. What was meant to be a relaxing day after a stressful week ended up being less than relaxing. The tech was annoyed by the fact that she had to service me. She wasn't polite at all(1st encounter). She over filled the basin. She was rude in regard to the discoloration of a nail(back story is I have had this nail remover several times and needless to say it's not pretty at all). Said I need to see a doctor and even went as far to call the manager or owner over to evaluate. I should have left right then and there but I didn't. The owner reassured her that it was ok to continue the service. She then wipes her nose with the towel on her lap . No this is when shit got real. While using the callus remover she filed so vigorously that it burned the skin off causing me to bleed. If you can imagine the pain I felt. I immediately told her to stop I'm bleeding. She dunks my foot in the basin of murky cold water and then applied some clotting agent. I should have left then. What was I thinking. I was trying my best to be patient and not overreact and be the angry black woman in a nail salon. So I let her finish. She never emptied the basin. My feet were sliding in the bowl as she painted the toenails. ‍ I had to Wiggle my way out of the small area to avoid the basin. Over to the mani station I go. The color for my nails must have been old, she applied it anyway. I said to her ma'am this one is not smooth. She replied just l let it dry first. By now I'm boiling and temporary disabled due to wet nails ( hand and feet). She had to redo the entire nail and let me tell you she wasn't happy at all. So we're wrapping up the manicure and she asks " you wanna leave a tip?" I just stared at her in disbelief. A tip? For what? Is all I could think. By now the receptionist and manager are aware of the situation as I was able to alert them of the pedicure incident. She was apologetic and reassured me that she would like me to come back for a redo of the service with no additional charge. Cool.... at least that what I thought. I checked out. Toe on fire and nails looking ok. 2nd visit was scheduled with "mimosa". I received a call to reschedule with her because of a family thing. So I called back to do so. I was informed that she was able to rearrange some thing so not to worry. However when I arrived I was told she was unable to do my appointment because something came up. I'm like I'm so why didn't someone call me. The lady who I know know to be the tech I encountered the first time, was now all warm and fuzzy. She did the service. She was very gentle this time around. Well I noticed that there was another tech working who kept making eye contact with me. I kept saying I wonder if this chick is " mimosa". Well honey let me tell you. It was!!!! How did I find out? As I was checking out she had a client arrive and who comes out to greet her "mimosa"!!!!! I WILL NEVER EVER PATRONIZE THIS PLACE AGAIN. Bought a groupon for a sns gel manicure. Tried to make an appointment online but wasn't able to because I'm not a member? So I had to wait 2 days because they're closed Sunday/Mondays I think? Finally got an appointment for last Thursday. Staff and environment were pleasant however she couldn't find the color sns I wanted. Not a huge deal so I picked a different one. By Monday night/ Tuesday morning, my middle finger nail gel had started to break off and then Wednesday night I was just simply running my fingers through my hair and my middle finger and pointer finger gel had broke in half and the corners of both my ring fingers have started to chip. I purchased a Groupon for Le Nu Spa to get my nails done, but had a really difficult time getting an appointment. After calling AND emailing, I finally drove (out of my way) to try for a walk-in. Because the nail tech was unavailable, I booked an appointment to come back. When I did come back, I was super disappointed with the limited SNS nail colors. Then, I was even more disappointed when I found out they don't do extensions on SNS nails at all. Since I already had the Groupon I stuck it out. Not terrible but not great. The spa was very cluttered but clean. However it was not the best manicure I have ever had. In fact, if it wasn't gel I would probably redo it myself right now. I bought a groupon for two Brazilian waxes. I had to cancel my first appointment to the whole next week because they sadly didn't have appointments after five until Friday. I had a great esthetician name Heather. It was a hard or soft wax, which I've never done before since I've only had sugaring. She was very kind in explaining what each was and we did of test of which I would like better. Let me say, hard wax is waaaay better because it doesn't latch onto skin, just the hair. This is the smoothest wax I've ever had! She did so great at minimizing pain and talking through the whole thing to make me comfortable. It took about an hour, but I believe that's because I don't do anything in the winter months, and wax only in the summer months. I'm definitely going to go back to her for future waxes. read more

Please avoid this salon at ALL COSTS. Especially if you purchased the Groupon to this place, they're scamming people. I don't even write reviews but I had to for this place. I got my hair done here and I purchased the $99 Groupon. However, I walked out paying over $300 for below poor quality hair highlights. The "restrictions apply" portion of the Groupon basically means if you don't have short hair (and I mean hair below your shoulders) then they trick you and make you spend $90-$100 on toner itself just to treat your hair. So no, I promise you you will not be walking out with having your Groupon paid for everything. Not to mention, the hairdresser there pulled on my hair several times. It was uncomfortable the whole time and I warn all of you not to spend even a penny here. They also expect you to tip VERY GENEROUSLY and take the tip percentage based on original prices. I visited Le Nu Spa on February 17th 2017 to receive a temporary Keratin treatment on my very long naturally curly hair. Keratin treatments are a temporary process that gradually washes out off the hair in about 2-4 months.They are meant to reduce frizz of curly hair. I have had Keratin treatments many times in the past but not by this salon. I Unfortunately bought a groupon for this service from this Salon and it was sold as "Keratin treatment", so because I had never been to this salon before I visited them three times prior to my appointment so that they could see my hair, touch it, and we could discuss the service. Each time I went I was VERY clear that I didn't want anything to happen to my curls only a reduction in frizz. I was told that it would reduce frizz by up to 70% and some of my curl would be reduced but like a Keratin treatment would come back by 6 months. On the day of my service they applied the treatment and said don't wash for three days ( which is normal for Keratin ) see you later. On the third day I washed my hair only to discover all my curl was completely gone.I went back that day and asked why is my hair straight and was told not worry its normal it will fade. One month later ans many sleepless nights my hair was still straight. After many hours of research I discovered that it appeared Le NU used a permanent chemical treatment on my hair.I went back again and demeaned to see the box of product they used. The owner finally came out with the box and sure enough the box read Pravana Texture Infusion Permanent smoothing treatment. My curl will NEVER return to the treated areas, it must grow back out from the root. As I still stood there in tears the owner of the Salon offered no apologies no remorse in fact she walked away from me went in her office and shut her door, never to come back out. Since then I have had to see several specialist for the terrible damage and so far have had to cut 8 inches off my hair. This process will go on for atleast 3 yrs. This is a nightmare! Today was my first trip to Le Nu. I purchased a Groupon for it was $46 for a 60 min Swedish Massage. I tend to use the Groupon method to find a great place. Boy did I find one! Micheal was my masseuse today, mind you I have never had a male masseuse so I was a little nervous. He was very informative and I love that he did not push to sell anything at the end! This massage was literally one of the best I've ever had!!! No joke! He really understood what my problem areas were and really worked on them. He was AMAZING!!!! I completely recommend him and I am going to be a returning customer to him! Totally disappointed of the place and the full experience. Made an appointment for hair and make up for my daughter for her prom day. Appointment and try out was done a full month in advance and was very happy with the results. Until the night BEFORE prom. I got a phone call from the owner, asking what type of hair style my daughter wanted. I was very surprised since we had a try out session and we even took pictures for the girl at the salon to remember. Was informed she was not working there anymore and therefore someone else was taking over. But then I found out through her that they were using my daughter as part of her "job interview" to what I was never told. Wouldn't have cared since her skills were on point and we were happy with the result but not telling me about it... I felt she was totally using my daughter's special day to her purpose. Then the makeup.... The girl was ALSO being "interviewed" and using my daughter.... Again I was not informed by the owner but by the makeup artist herself. She looked frazzled and had absolutely no idea how or where everything was. There was no eye corrector and she had nothing to contour her face with and no eyeliner... She tried to do whatever she could and worked with the liquid makeup she was provided with by the salon owner. The makeup did not dry and was runny. This was not the same line of makeup they used in the try out session. Total tragedy. ... By then it was too late to start over. My daughter distraught and I was furious on her special day. Why was I never informed of all this was beyond me. I told them we had to go and proceeded to the check out desk. Thought I was not going to be charged since her makeup was not done and I was furious for the waiting. They tried to charge the makeup and the hair. By now my daughter was in tears cause now we had to rush and work on her makeup at home something we tried to avoid by making appointments and meeting with the girl in charge then .... I said nothing more. I paid the FULL price of the hair style without arguing.... Took a full week to the owner to reach out and apologize. What a terrible management. If a customer is not satisfied because poor service you have to make it right right there not wait until a full 7 days. And if they are using your special occasion for interviewing the potential new personnel and don't tell you that they don't even know these people's work previous your appointment says a lot about the rest of the services provided by them. And the nail techs thoroughly sanitize the hardware; they soak them in barbicide or whatever that solution is called, AND use that uv light sanitizing machine.
