After having a busy day with Doctor appointments, I decided to take myself and my parents out to get a manicure and pedicure. All three of us had birthdays in August, so it was the perfect opportunity to have a treat as well. Manicures and pedicures are not typically my thing, so I didn't readily have someplace in mind. I did a Google and Yelp search to find a place that had good reviews. I came across Posh Nails off of US Highway 17 in Garner and decided to go there and see if they allow walk-ins. Luckily, when I arrived they had availability and did allow walk-ins so the three of us were seated right away for our pedicures. It's a nice set up at this facility. They also have free beverages available while you're being serviced. Christina was my nail technician. She did a great job with my pedicure and my manicure. My parents pedicure and manicure also went well. There were two things that I observed during my visit that threw me for a loop. (1) I was unaware of an additional service charge separate from the cost for the manicure and the pedicure. My first thought was that the beverages aren't really free, and there's a secret charge for the beverages but when I inquired about what it was for, I was told it's because I had two different services done. That struck me as very odd. Some nail salons actually give you a discount if you're having a combination manicure and pedicure service. This was the very first time that I heard of a service charge because I had two services done instead of one. I was eager to see the bill so that I could see exactly how it was listed, but conveniently enough, I did not receive an itemized bill just a credit card receipt. (2) My technician set up a small fan so that I could have my nails dried before I left the facility; however, my mother's technician tried to have my mom leave right after he finished painting her nails without drying them first. It took my father's technician to point out to my mother's technician that he needed to dry my mom's nails first because they were still wet. I was quite surprised that my mother's technician thought it would be OK to not dry her nails before letting her leave the facility. Overall, our visit went well, but because of those two instances I mentioned above, I have reduced my score from 4 to 3. read more

I've come to posh nail spa about eight times now and unfortunately, I don't think I can come here anymore. It's definitely not the best manicure you're getting in the area but at least it's affordable. The issue is that they don't do nail prep very well. when I ask them to remove my gel manicure there will often be chunks of nail polish left behind, you can still see the basecoat, and the shaping of my nails is a little wonky. on top of that, the past three times I've been they keep increasing their prices on me. It feels like it's very dependent on who your nail tech is and how much they like you. They just kind of charge you whatever they feel like there's no consistency. read more

The female tech Kaycee or KC is unprofessional, mean, hard Grench faced and down right ignorant. She never smiles and barely will say hello. She acts as if she is doing you a favor by letting you sit in her Temu chair. She loves to argue with customers and has an elitist racist attitude. She will not take instruction and gets upset and storms off in a rage if you simply tell her how you like your nails. "You too pickay" is her favorite line. I wouldn't send my dog to her for a nail trim. Rickey is also very rude and acts as if he is doing you a favor. If your nails lift which 5 of mine did he will tell you it's your fault bc he's been doing this for 10 years.. Jimmy sits next to Kaycee/KC acting as a puppet so if she says she doesn't like you then he can't do your nails. Remember rudeness is contagious. This is the norm for them. As the saying goes The fish stinks from the head! Attitude is a reflection of LEADERSHIP. I blame management for knowing that these techs are rude, disrespectful, mean, and unprofessional but failing to do anything because they make them $$$. People will start to realize this is how they truly feel about them and stop wasting their money! I also got a pedicure there and the tech didn't even push my cuticles back or clean under the nail. She said the drill took care of it and rolled her eyes and walked off when I asked for someone more experienced. The whole place is a clown show similar to a high school full of degenerate bullies! Part 1 of pedicure station I have officially had the best pedicure of my life . They had many different kinds for me to choose from. I went with the cucumber scrub and by the way my legs feel it was a great choice! Even before this amazing pedicure started I was given a 2 page drink menu with moscato's, sangria, soda and that's just the drinks I can remember! Nail fillin was the second great part of my visit. Came down from Ohio for my cousins wedding. When my aunt told me she was planning on getting a mani/pedi and asked if I wanted to join, I jumped at the chance. I didn't expect this! Now, for me it's been 12 years since I've had any nail pampering done. And I can say this was a relaxing enjoyable experience. My aunt told me to get the citrus pedicure, and she wasn't wrong. It was fabulous! I normally don't like my feet being touched but I would do this again hands down. My legs abs feet were so soft afterwards. From the sugar scrub with fresh oranges to the paraffin wax they set one your feet to the beverage of your choice, you feel completely relaxed and pampered. My regular nail gal was out of town on vacation, so I checked Yelp for a nail salon recommendation, and I was excited to discover Posh Nail Spa. I was warmly welcomed by the owner as I was walking into this brand new salon. I was really impressed with the decor and the quality of the pedicure stations. I picked out a nail color, and I was promptly seated in my pedicure chair. I believe the woman doing my nails today was the manager, because she was assisting other technicians with their technique as my feet were soaking. I was asked if I wanted anything to drink and I was given a drink menu, which I thought was cool. They had a lot of selections, but of course I selected a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, because I wanted to relax and I definitely did. I went with the $30 pedicure, because that's what I usually select at my regular salon. I was kinda disappointed that my feet were barely scrubbed, and my callouses weren't removed, but I guess I needed to select a pricier package for all that. Everything else about the pedicure was great though! The leg massage was awesome, and she did an impeccable job painting my toenails. Next I had a basic gel manicure. This service was comparable to my regular salon. My cuticles were soaked and trimmed, nails were filed, the gel polish was applied meticulously, and the hand massage was good. Love it! KC is my go-to girl and I am super picky about my nails. She is always so friendly and sooo helpful for when I am indecisive. Her creativity with her designs always speaks volumes. My nails are literally an expression for me and the fact that she can articulate through her art what I want without me having to go into detail is what keeps me coming back! I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon; first time at this salon. I had called ahead and made an appointment but still had to wait to be seated. My appointment was for a basic manicure but the nail technician kept trying to upsell me on a gel manicure even though I politely declined several times stating that my appointment was for a regular manicure. Halfway through the service, they changed nail techs, so the women that was doing my nails could do a pedicure for another client - I didn't find fault with this, it just felt a bit 'off' having a different person step in half way. The manicure turned out okay. A few little bumps in the polish, no warm towel or lotion; overall it felt rushed. The salon is decent if you are just looking for fast service. Pricing was on the high side for a basic, no frills manicure. With so many other salons in the area offering better pricing and friendlier service, I don't foresee me coming back here. read more

I am writing to follow-up on my last review because it appears that posting a negative review is unfortunately the only way to get in contact with the establishment. Within 30 minutes of my last review, the owner commented and asked me to reach out to her directly. As I am extremely busy with work this time of year, I texted her to let her know I saw her comment and asked what she needed from me. I did not hear from her for 2 days. She finally texted back after I took the initiative to follow up once again, saying she had been busy and asked to speak with me directly. Because it was Easter weekend, I asked her to call me Monday, to which she said sure. It is now Wednesday and I have yet to receive any further correspondence from the owner. It should not be on the patron to waste their time and energy in trying to reconcile the issue. It originally appeared that the owner wanted to promptly resolve this issue, but it seems the truth of the matter is they only want to be seen as "addressing" bad reviews online, yet never follow through with resolving them once contacted. I chose this salon because of the good reviews but after visiting I believe the good reviews have to be fake! The shop is dusty and cluttered and there were no paper towels to dry my hands after washing them. The person that was doing my nails went to go smoke twice and reeked of stale cigarettes. The polish is applied too thick and after 2 days is peeling and chipping. My fingertips and cuticles have been throbbing since I had my nails done. I really want to like this place, as my results have been fantastic, but can't for anyone going with a male who gives af about their nails. Each time my husband has been here with me, it's been a disaster. It seems as though they have a policy of "punishing" the newest employees with the male clients. My husbands hands were destroyed today. Bled for half the session. His pedicure was missing polish in very obvious places, and when attempting to point out, the tech decided to address his cuticles. ‍ The tech clearly had little experience with gel as the means used to remove the old mani/pedi were irregular and inefficient. Consistently had to be corrected when trying to finish the manicure by folks who happened to be walking by. No way this tech should be on the floor solo at this point. I'm a patient and understanding person (having worked in the service industry myself), but after having 3 negative experiences with 3 different nail techs, I won't be returning to this shop. I decided to hold off reviewing this nail shop to get a general sense of what the overall service is like from nail tech to nail tech. This shop is the "highest rated" near my home so I decided to try it. I started going there 2 months ago. On the first visit, the customer service was amazing! We were offered wine and reassured our wait would not be long before being serviced promptly. However...the nail tech (on this first visit), was not good. He sat me down at a table that was not clean (had someone else's fingernails, etc on it). He painfully nipped my cuticles ultimately leaving scars on multiple fingers, he was coughing throughout the service, and rushed my full set. It just didn't look good. I made it a point to not go to him again. For the sake of this shop being so close to my home, I didn't want to throw the whole shop away due to one bad tech, so I decided to try them again..but avoid him. I didn't get his name, but I remembered his face. The next couple of times I went, I purposely asked for a female tech just ensure I wouldn't be placed with him. Also, when I went back the 2nd time, I returned thinking I would get the same nice welcome I received the first time, but didn't. I held out for woman tech, who did better job on my nails than the first tech, but her attitude wasn't the best. I politely asked her to address something about how she was doing my nails and she was short with me saying, "I'm not done!"...I was caught off guard. Her work is alright but not that attitude. I did get her name: It is UT. This last time I went, I had not made an appointment and was fine with waiting. After about 20 minutes, I was approached by a male tech--and was hesitant at first, but for the sake of being short on time (and because he was NOT the first male tech I went to), I just went and sat in his chair...which was squeezed in between 2 other booths--very tight. I couldn't even turn my chair to the left or right without hitting the customer beside me. Surprisingly, this nail tech was patient. The only issue with him is that he kept allowing himself to be distracted while talking to his co-workers while doing my set. Also, despite showing him the nail inspiration pic, I ended up totally hating the set...almost to the point of going to get them done over somewhere else. Overall, out of the 4 times I've been there, it's been downhill. The general vibe of the shop is moody, as if they are doing you a favor by doing your nails...despite them getting paid to provide a service. Their priority seems to be "get them in, get them out" with little attention to the experience of the specific needs of each client. Disappointed. read more

I am SO pleased with my service at Posh! After a DREADFUL gel tip experience elsewhere I was nervous to try again but I decided to give Posh a try. They did fantastic! The nail tech listened to every one of my issues with the last place and spent extra time making sure the ombré and shape were perfect, and double checked everything at each stage. Any issues were corrected immediately and without making me feel like I was an inconvenience. The only complaint I have is that the salon was VERY full (seemingly past current occupancy rules) and social distancing from other clients was next to impossible. While masks are required there were at least 3-4 women with them hanging under their nose that I would have appreciated staff correcting. I will definitely be back, though I will probably wait until I'm vaccinated. read more

I come to posh quite often, it's definitely my go to in the area. But on my last visit, I was a little disappointed. I got a manicure with tips and liquid gel. I paid $67 to have this service done plus a $10 tip, but no attention was paid to my cuticles AT ALL. The polish work done looks great, but now I'm already in need of a fill in and it's only been a week since I got them done. When I called to ask I was told it was an additional charge to have your cuticles pushed back and trimmed. In my mind, receiving care on your cuticles is obvious when visiting a salon. I just don't understand paying so much for a "manicure" and not even receiving one. If your gps is like mine you may get turned around... the salon is located in the shopping complex with the mattress warehouse. It is tucked away in the back corner. The salon is nice and clean as it should be-it is new. I booked my appointment through yelp as it was an option on their yelp profile. This caused a bit of confusion, I'm assuming because I was the first customer to book this way. The salon relies heavily on Facebook and phone calls for booking. The appointment that was confirmed on yelp was for 5:00pm and I wasn't started on until 5:30 but it was for good and understandable reason. (No worries) While in the salon I was able to watch the dip powder method. The customer beside me spoke highly of this service and seemed to have a great rapport with the nail tech. If you are into nail designs and fun nail shapes I'm not sure this is the salon for you. I didn't see any display of that kind of work in the salon or on the salons Facebook page (also didn't ask for that sort of service so they may offer). Overall it was a pleasant visit they offered something to drink multiple times and although it was a mistake they honored the yelp discount that was displayed and apologized several times for my wait. My recommendation is that if you are into dip powder nail services, this is certainly the place for you as every customer in the salon, except me, was receiving this service. read more
