I was extremely excited to have found this Ms. April, after looking at reviews and finding that the…read moreother Electrolysis that I was looking at was closed, in order to better prepare for seeing patients during a Pandemic. After calling and leaving a message, she was quick to return my call. It was like others had said. She was easy to talk to and it was if we had known one another forever. I scheduled with April and arrived for my appointment, with no issues. She treated me for about 45mins and was most pleasant the whole time. Again, her bedside manner is spectacular. She made mention that she had elderly family members and that she may have to abruptly cancel, should something come up with them. I get that. Life happens. I scheduled using the app for my follow up appointment for a Saturday. The day before said appointment, Ms. April called and left me a message that she was going to have to reschedule because it was her birthday, and her kids were taking her on a surprise getaway...Again, I get that (although professionalisms would have called for the kids to check the schedule...first blatant red flag). However, what I didn't and don't get is how one could just blow a client off. Rescheduled my appointment, again through the app for that Monday. I text her and sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes. After texting again and calling with no response, I got out the car and approached to knock on the door. The lights were on, and I could see that someone was in the office space. I went back to call again. Still, no response. It has been a week and a half. I still have not heard back from Ms. April. If she thought my case too difficult or just didn't want to pick up new clients, I surely wish she would have simply said so. It would have saved us both a lot of time. Luckily, I was so distraught after letting all my hairs grow out in preparation for my treatment (only to be stood up) that I ended up calling back the Electroliysis in Cary. She has given me a straight forward plan of attack for my treatment plan, unlike Ms. April who told me to "pick a side" that I wanted to work on when I came back. Maybe I dodged a bullet? Just be leery! She is definitely a kind person, but less than reliable.

I have one month left on my freeze and I called to cancel again. This time, I was told that they would cancel it and I would still be charged a final draft of the membership fee- the rep told me to read my contract. The website terms and conditions conveniently leave out the terms of cancellation. I asked about the contract I signed, which I never received a copy of, digital or otherwise, and was told it could not be emailed to me and that I would have to come in to get it. It is convenient for the business to make it inconvenient for the member to be able to read the full terms and conditions and their "policy". I am canceling and will not be returning to any Hand & Stone location.

After an excellent massage at their Cary location, I was excited to check out the Garner location…read more This Hand & Stone Spa is smaller than the Cary building, but just as welcoming and relaxing. It is located in a plaza, next to a Coldstone, with ample parking. I scheduled a facial for a weekend afternoon. I was greeted upon arrival by a welcoming, friendly front desk associate. She answered my questions, confirmed my appointment, and asked me to sign some forms. The forms were surprising since I had completed the required forms online in advance. These forms were regarding new treatments they offered. Even though I was not receiving these treatments, I still had to sign the forms. My facial was with Claire. I informed her this was my first facial and asked her to describe the steps as she performed them. For instance, what she was applying to my face, etc. She did this occasionally throughout the facial, but I still do not know what all was done. The website and Claire were clear on pricing. Prices are higher for non-members and they have a variety of add-ons to choose from. Unfortunately, I did not find the facial at all relaxing. It was rough, especially the scalp massage (which I do not recommend adding on). The hand massage add-on was nice but very short. At the end she did show me two of the products she recommended purchasing (Clarity brand). Overall it was not relaxing, however, the employees are nice, the environment is comfortable, and the services are reasonably priced. I would return here for a massage, but will pass on the facials.

After having a busy day with Doctor appointments, I decided to take myself and my parents out to…read moreget a manicure and pedicure. All three of us had birthdays in August, so it was the perfect opportunity to have a treat as well. Manicures and pedicures are not typically my thing, so I didn't readily have someplace in mind. I did a Google and Yelp search to find a place that had good reviews. I came across Posh Nails off of US Highway 17 in Garner and decided to go there and see if they allow walk-ins. Luckily, when I arrived they had availability and did allow walk-ins so the three of us were seated right away for our pedicures. It's a nice set up at this facility. They also have free beverages available while you're being serviced. Christina was my nail technician. She did a great job with my pedicure and my manicure. My parents pedicure and manicure also went well. There were two things that I observed during my visit that threw me for a loop. (1) I was unaware of an additional service charge separate from the cost for the manicure and the pedicure. My first thought was that the beverages aren't really free, and there's a secret charge for the beverages but when I inquired about what it was for, I was told it's because I had two different services done. That struck me as very odd. Some nail salons actually give you a discount if you're having a combination manicure and pedicure service. This was the very first time that I heard of a service charge because I had two services done instead of one. I was eager to see the bill so that I could see exactly how it was listed, but conveniently enough, I did not receive an itemized bill just a credit card receipt. (2) My technician set up a small fan so that I could have my nails dried before I left the facility; however, my mother's technician tried to have my mom leave right after he finished painting her nails without drying them first. It took my father's technician to point out to my mother's technician that he needed to dry my mom's nails first because they were still wet. I was quite surprised that my mother's technician thought it would be OK to not dry her nails before letting her leave the facility. Overall, our visit went well, but because of those two instances I mentioned above, I have reduced my score from 4 to 3.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the customer service was lacking. I have been to…read moreseveral different spas, and this place is at the bottom of my list for customer service. While waiting for my appointment, a massage therapist walked out into the lobby, with her mask down, eating a snack and playing on her phone. I know people are at work and need breaks; I just did not think this was professional in the front lobby of the spa. My appointment was at 5:15pm. No one said anything to me about my massage therapist running behind. When I asked if she was late or what was going on, the receptionist's response was "Well, I have only been here half a day, so I don't know." ...... (????) When she returned, she did not apologize or provide an update; she simply sat back down at the front desk. My therapist came out shortly after to greet me and walk me back. There was no apology from her for running late and she did not introduce herself at all. She simply asked if there was any area she needed to focus on and left the room for me to undress. However, all of this being said, the massage was great and definitely worth it. I did ask my therapist what her name was when leaving, and the receptionist was very sweet and helpful while checking out. I just wish there would have been better service from the front end, so I would have been less annoyed going into my massage.

It got to the point where I thought I'd accidentally booked a Swedish massage. Masseuse did not do a good job communicating. Masseuse also didn't focus on the areas I asked to focus on. Not sure what the point of filling out the form before the massage if they're not going to read it. No water provided after. Probably have had a hundred massages and was always offered water or tea. Very poor value.
