I went to Natalia for about 2 years, I'd estimate, who was very skilled and pleasant. Unfortunately, for about the last year, I'd have my appointments rescheduled the day of the cut, for various reasons. This happened month after month. Finally, last Christmas, on the day of an appointment I couldn't afford to reschedule due to an event, I pushed back against a weather related excuse considering there was no weather event occurring and determined that I had not been told the truth about her not being there that day. After 4 phone calls, back-and-forth, I was granted the appointment that had been on the books for nearly 2 months. During the appointment, I tried to talk to her about the last-minute rescheduling and false excuses that I was given on a pretty regular basis, but it seemed lost on her that operating this way was in any way wrong considering the inconveniences it caused me. She even asked me why I couldn't be more flexible, much to my surprise. I would have thought that the business she works for would have provided some kind of check on this practice. In my mind, if a customer schedules an appointment in advance, that appointment should be honored -- or at the least not shuffled the day of the appointment. In all honesty, a couple of months later, I'm still searching for someone that does as good of a job as she did, but I can't stomach giving more money to a business that casually lies to me every couple of months. read more

Been going here for around two years now, and I don't think I could find a better place. I've been everywhere around and almost every place does not do the cut correctly, but they do here! They make sure you're comfortable, will keep a conversation going or will work in a comfortable silence if it's more your pace like me. I normally get a good inch off, wash, and blow dry. I had such a wonderful experience today at Salt Hair from the moment I walked in. They were welcoming and friendly. I was offered a beverage while I waited from water, coffee to a soda but I settled for a glass of wine which was lovely as well as a piece of chocolate. My hair stylist was Heather. So, Found out 2 days before my hair appointment with my previous stylist that she was no longer there and instead of rescheduling at that salon (I was only traveling there because of her) I decided to try and find a local salon closer to me. I saw Salt on a google search and read some YELP reviews and decided to check it out myself. When I called I explained what had happened and also my fear of going to someone new and them not doing my hair as good as my previous hair dresser. They were very accommodating, set me up with a free consult with Natalia and scheduled my appointment. I told Natalia what I wanted, showed her a picture. The reason for a 4 versus a 5 star review: My hair looks great, but not nearly as soft as when I usually get it done. I'm not sure the reason for that. Also, I was a little surprised at the cost. It cost just as much as my level 4 hair designer at Blo in Brier Creek. I guess I expected it to be a little less expensive. That being said, Natalia is great. She takes the time to listen and is very personable. read more

I used to go here for either a haircut or highlights. For a couple years. The last time I got their services, I was really disappointed because my appointment was fit in the middle of someone else's appointment for a color (and probably a style or cut also) and they didn't contact me in advance to reschedule it. It would have been nice if they did because I booked it online and I knew what I wanted for that open spot that was available online (which appeared to be an hour). I wanted a haircut and style. They trimmed my hair quickly and it took 10 minutes. They charged me for a "pixie" and they charged me $70. And then it seemed they shooed me out because I was apparently taking up someone else's appointment time. I didn't even get to see what my hair looked like in the back mirror. I'm not coming back to Salt Hair and I don't recommend this place either. I didn't even like the "$70 trim" because I came back home and just kept trimming my hair the way I wanted it. They took too much of my money and it was not worth it! Ugh. (Did I mention it was more than $70 because of the tip that was more than generously given?!) ugh. read more

Allyson went into action, we discussed different lengths, style, then she suggested color with highlights. Got a beautiful cut, then made an appointment with her the next day for color. this did not work out well for me. I asked for a trim and a color. the stylist started to just cut the ends of my hair without washing, then colored. I told her not too dark, well she made is so dark it is awful...plus the chairs you sit in to get your hair washed are the most uncomfortable ever. worst salon around here. read more

I moved to the Triangle area about a year ago. Tried a few hair salons and was so unhappy with them I thought I was going to have to keep going back to my stylist in Dallas. Then I was referred to Elli at Salt Hair and I'm here to stay. She listened to me, asked a ton of questions, and gave me exactly the color and cut I was hoping for. And she is also the sweetest, nicest person you could ever hope to meet. The salon is very nice and the staff is friendly and accommodating. This was my third time here and I expected for it to be an easy dye... just wanted to go back to my natural hair and ended up with JET BLACK hair when my hair is a dark brown. After 7 hours and lightening treatments that fried my hair my hair is now jet black with reddish tints. There was dye all over my face and clothes it literally looked like I box dyed it myself. I sobbed the entire way home. I never want to feel this way after leaving a salon again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! I've never had such a horrible experience at a hair salon...EVER! It started with the stylist having a pretty rude bad negative attitude, while I tried multiple times to speak to her or get a conversation going, you know since I'll be in her chair for a couple hours she only responded in 1 word answers and then SILENCE for the remainder of the time. I'm a redhead and I came to have my roots done and the ends freshened up not only did she change my whole color she left a line where the root line was and the rest of my hair. When I expressed my unhappiness with the color, because it was totally different, she blew me off and only responded with "ya sorry". My hair was barely blown dry and the underneath still had color in it still, so the minute I got home after crying all the way home I had to rewash it. The end of this horrible experience was because she washed the color out with scalding hot water my hair took many many many conditioning treatments to get it soft again. I've recently moved here and now I'm completely freaked out to have anyone touch my hair! read more
