Positives: I left the salon feeling beautiful. I wanted to look my best for an upcoming family wedding, and I did, most definitely. I received a full foil, gloss, and cut/style. The haircut was done so well that it is not possible to have a bad-hair day! Negatives: It was super expensive, I didn't know until I arrived for my appointment that there is an automatic tip of 20% added to the bill. Also, there was an upcharge of approximately $80 after my consult. I don't know what the upcharge was for, and I was too shocked/embarrassed to balk over the cost in this luxury salon. Do I plan to return to Salon Eden? Yes, but only for the haircut. I can't justify spending over $500 on my hair, no matter how beautiful it all turned out. read more

(meaning sure not lot of blonde, fine but next session will be super blonde) went out the store with ORANGE hair to the scalp which is not a fucking balayage and was told I need to come back and spend ANOTHER $600 to be blonde/brunette how I wanted.. which makes no fucking sense she just wanted to get every penny out of me. When I got on the chair I showed her a few photos that I know she wasn't paying attention to because on the last photo I specifically said before anything was done that I don't want it to the root like this photo I just wanted that tone..and I want a blend with my natural AND SHE BLEACHED IT ORANGE TO THE ROOT !!! Obviously she gaslighted me and told me blonde wasn't for me which was obviously jealousy. She's loosing hair by the pounds while I have very thick hair.. All the chairs in the salon and there's only one other stylist.. not so "luxury salon" of them.. Save yourself your hard earned money AND DO NOT GO HERE. They will sabotage you and steal your money in the process. I also want to add that I went to another hair salon to see if they could fix it and they said the owner of this salon is known for being terrible and was arrested for driving drunk with her babies in the car. Yeah... I will always preach to people to not go here. Might even put a sign up. Also SUPER HUGE RED FLAG when every single negative review she has she never ever takes accountability not for a single one.. she dismisses and denies. You know how it usually goes: friend sees friend's new hair, friend passes along contact info only for the friend to forget all about it, right? WRONG. Thank GOD that wasn't the case here. I typically have trust issues when it comes to stylists- change isn't my strong suit- but I was in a rut, needed a win, and after stalking JoeMary's IG page (@joemaryrodriguezhairstylist), I honestly just went for it. I am SO glad I did. I told her I needed my Hot Girl Era hair and she NAILED it. I even felt like I had my own Princess Diaries moment with the reveal and everything! JoeMary and I were on the same page from start to finish- even had the same inspiration photos from her IG! I genuinely think this was the first time I was ever truly able torelax while getting my hair done, without stressing about the end result. It was a great experience from start to finish, to the extent that even the hair washing bowls were comfortable on your neck, and you KNOW that is near impossible. I was a bit apprehensive about going to a luxury salon, thinking I wouldn't fit in. Again, I found myself pleasantly surprised. AN HONEST REVIEW FROM A WOMAN OF COLOR I have always struggled with my hair and have never truly felt in love with the way I looked -- that is until I met Joemary! I will be the first to say this sounds cheesy, but I have genuinely never felt more gorgeous. As a woman of color, having those dream waterfall curls that cascade down your neck and back always seemed like something I would never be able to have myself. I have been keratin treating my hair for several years now to keep my hair relatively straight and my curl pattern under control (I'm naturally a 4C). I have had extensions in the past and I *thought I was happy with them -- but I NOW understand the difference high-quality hair makes. If you have never had extensions of any length before, you need to be prepared for it to be an investment: not just in the $$ of the hair, but the every day wear. If you want to get the most out of your hair, you'll want to invest in the salon-quality shampoos, heat protectant and styling sprays. TRUST ME! I have tried to find dupes in drug stores, but ultimately there is nothing that will protect your hair like the products at Salon Eden. You'll also want to make sure you are brushing out your extensions and wearing a protective hairstyle to sleep! I personally also like to use a silk head wrap to keep my hair from getting tangled or rubbing on my cotton sheets. Joemary and her staff were incredibly kind, caring and gentle! In the past, I've had stylists at other salons PULL at my scalp or place beads way too close to my scalp which led to irritation -- I'm very happy nothing like this happened and the extensions didn't hurt at all! I felt as though I was truly listened to throughout my consultation. I came in with shoulder-length dark brown hair with a lot of stress breakage on my sides. After talking with Joemary, we decided to go a little darker to help color match with the extensions. I'm SO glad we did! Joemary also layered my extensions perfectly to hide my breakage and give me coverage around my face and everything blends seamlessly. Joemary walked me through every step as we went along, so nothing came as a surprise and I'm so incredibly pleased with my results! I'm normally not one to do this, but I feel like it needs to be told. I went to Salon Eden again after a while of not going (because it's a luxury salon-- they're expensive) well I finally earned enough to treat myself to a Salon Eden Experience again! Well, turned out to not be so great. Not only did I NOT get not even remotely what I asked for... (which is fine, her story is that next time we would get there, okay fine) my problem is that I paid $841, including an AUTOMATIC 20% tip I was FORCED to pay upon checking out. I was not told my total before my card was tapped, I was scammed by Joemary and her husband. Trust me, I'm not the only one with these issues and I wish I would've read yelp reviews before stepping foot in there again. Apparently they've turned into people who solely take advantage of people. Joe Mary's work is good, although not $840 worth good (not this time for me anyway-- maybe you'll have a better experience). Just a heads up, in case you're thinking of treating yourself, you may end up with more surprises on the way out and hair you truly don't love. Overall okay experience. I went in for the first time for a partial balayage and the salon was completely empty on a Saturday, which to me is not a good sign in any beauty category. That being said, it's a beautiful salon itself and they serve mimosas and wine which is great. Jo Mary did my balayage / cut and I was surprised how fast she is (usually it takes hours) but she was quick. She also gave me a much needed layered haircut and it turned out great. Majority of my balayage turned out fine, with the exception of my bangs, which were under-processed and very brassy, and they were spatially way over-crowded compared to the rest of my crown. I emailed the next day to ask if we could retouch that area and I never heard back. Ended up having to fix it myself. I also, like others, was surprised at the automatically charged gratuity. I was quoted $520 and agreed - although I felt that was high, coming from Los Angeles where celebrity stylists charge that. I didn't realize the quote didn't include the forced tip, so it turned out to be about $625. That just didn't sit well with me because the purpose of gratuity is to compliment good work and should be up to the customer, depending on experience. Overall, the experience was fine but I won't be going back. I can find other salons out here that will charge me the same or less, and give me a way more banging result. As I told Joe, I felt like I was wearing a mullet wig from the 1990s! (Not joking). She and her team were SO understanding and caring, agreeing to squeeze me in on super short notice (like the same day!!!). The team took a ton of time understanding what was "wrong" with my situation and then designed a PERFECT plan to not just fix my hair nightmare but set me up to walk out of the salon with the gorgeous, shiny, dimensional hair of my dreams! Honestly I am shocked at the great reviews. I wasted 5 hours of my life and plenty of money at this salon for a haircut and color. They say pictures speak a thousand words and I think this series of pictures/fails shows exactly why to avoid this salon and specifically Rhonda. While the staff are incredibly nice, that does not make up for incompetence overall I wish I could just have my old hair back, because this is truly a hideous color job. Hope this helps someone from making a costly and annoying mistake at this salon. Update 16Jul- I got my hair fixed at Blo on 15Jul. JoeMary the owner of the salon, did reach out to me on 14Jul via email and 16Jul his phone but since I work, I couldn't wait until mid week to have this fixed. She very nicely offered to give me a credit towards another service or to fix my hair (they have a 2 week guarantee). She also stated that they do trainings for their staff when a negative review comes in. I 100% appreciated the offer but am not interested as my hair has been fixed and I just don't want to go through that again and would prefer to go to a salon that I have had good results at. The 1st time I went, Jomary cut my hair nearly perfectly, which convinced me to go back. The 2nd time, she asked me which hair clipper number she used on the sides (which she cut too short) and back of my head. (What?) She's the 1st ever to ask me anything like that; all other hairstylists I've been to kept notes of my visits. The 3rd time there she again cut the sides too short after I explicitly asked her not to. I foolishly gave her a 4th chance (and I asked her again not to cut the sides), where she started the haircut then passed me off to an associate, another thing that no previous hairstylist had done. The attached pictures of the sides and back of my head (from a week after my visit), however, are all Jomary. On the right side of the back of my head you'll see what might look like a small patch of gray hair, but it's actually a SCAR from childhood; that's how close she got to the scalp, and she got just as close on the sides. She just didn't pay attention to my requests, which you just don't do. This was my first time at a proper Salon. I adored every moment of it! As I am out of town for work, I'd been wanting to get my hair done before I went on a trip. I'd been trying to find a salon for weeks, and came across this one. I took a chance, and perfect timing because their Color Specialist Brenda happened to have an opening! The Salon was very peaceful, and the employee's were very kind, and hospitable. The vibes you'd hope for! Calming. I met with Brenda. She's very sweet, and knowledgeable in her field. She made me feel very safe, and comfortable in her chair! I don't normally dye my hair, I love my natural color which is more of a dirty blonde, but sometimes change can be what's needed. I wanted to embark on the journey of going towards more of a platinum blonde. I didn't have a lot of time due to work, so we were able to do just one session. My hair so far turned out fantastic! Every time I see Jennifer at Salon Eden she gives me Victoria Secret hair. She's not afraid to play with colors and try new things, and it's always comes out looking fantastic. Atmosphere was really nice. The stylist over processed my hair so it was WHITE which was not what I asked for. The balayage was more like chunky highlights in sections, and I suspect it was because she was talking and not paying attention. I paid the most I'd ever paid for the worst job I'd ever received.
