The supplies were not in an autoclave bag, the drill used to remove the gel polish from my toes was in a ziplock. The lady drilled my toe with too much pressure removing several layers of my nail which caused redness and pain and when I asked her why my toe was red she yelled and immediately got defensive saying she didn't cause it. They also have bad reviews on their yelp page echoing similar sentiments about not using disposable single use instruments and injuring other customers. Me and my mom have been coming here a few years now, and we can both confidently say Nail Trenz is our favorite- we absolutely recommend to everyone. The staff is so friendly and polite, the owner makes sure you're taken care of every time. The interior of the establishment is clean and modern, their chairs are new and everything is kept spotless. They have lots of room, it's always a good idea to make an appointment but walk-ins have never been a problem when me and my mom. For the services they offer plenty of different options, today I got an acrylic fill-in with gel polish and nail art on my hands, and polish and nail art on my toes. I'm so happy with how it came out, I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. They serviced me 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment. While I appreciated their apologies for this overlook it didn't help that I received a terrible fill in with nail art. I showed the tech a photo of the art I wanted done and she said she could accomplish it. She attempted it and then realized she couldn't do it. She then dramatically simplified the art while charging me the same amount. On top of that the actual work was sloppy. I already need a fill and I just got them done today. I have been to Nail Trendz a few times. The staff has always been nice however the staff needs to get off their phones. The first 15 minutes of my pedi the guy staff member talked on the phone 3 chairs away. I had about 10 minutes of quite then a woman staff member sat next to me talking on her phone. I find this behavior rude and unprofessional. They should implement a policy, have staff step outside to talk on the phone. Today is a beautiful day, go talk in private. I have been going to Nail Trenz for over ten years, I go every two weeks because I deserve it and because I receive such quality work, enjoy the staff and the atmosphere. Reading some of the negative reviews just amazes me, because I watch what goes on in there and how attentive the owner is as she watches and listens to make sure the customers are happy. If you speak to them and let them know of your concern, it gets handled. I see the same customers come in year after year and there is something to be said about the longevity of their customers. The care they take with the handicapped and the elderly is just incredible, they welcome everyone equally! I'd give 0 stars if I could!!!! Where do I start? I have been here once before and decided to give it one more shot, mainly because my normal nail place was too busy for a walk in today. The lady that I was sent to for a pedicure asked me one question and that was what scent I wanted in my water. I said cucumber. Then I said I wanted the basic pedicure ($35) today and she said no you selected the $55 dollar pedicure bc of the added scent. Never was up front about the cost. Keep in mind I'm not a regular so I was not aware. If you ask me, shady and dishonest right off the bat. Now when I asked her to get more of my nails trimmed and skin, she scoffed, and grunted at me and started telling me I already did that. Not attempt to give customer satisfaction. The rudest nail place I've ever been to. Also loved she was talking in her native tongue to her college (talking crap) I'm sure. If you want an actual customer service nail salon that doesn't throw attitude and dishonesty your way, AVOID nail Trendz like the plague. They do not deserve you business. read more

I just wanted to comment on the Jessica T's negative review. First off I really love this salon and go here regularly. When I have extra time I get the $55 pedicure and when I'm in a rush I get the $40. No one was rude in the salon today but her. She clearly had to have looked at the pedicure menu to know that the basic pedicure was $35 and the cucumber one was $55. Now I'm sure if she made a wrong choice in choosing the more expensive one the salon would have done right by the customer and charged only $35. What is hilarious is that when she was complaining to the sweet owner she said this was her first time here so she didn't know, but then she said she'd been there before and just wasn't a regular. She also let the whole salon know how she works in a "High Profile" job and took time away during her lunch break. She was dressed like a slob in casual clothes so not sure what high profile gig she's working? She then said she was only going to pay what she thought the service was worth and left $15. I sure wish I knew where her high profile job was so that they could pay her what she's worth. She was so entitled and rude to the staff. The owner offered to make it right and she just couldn't stop complaining. And as she stated herself that she gets pedicures all the time, she should know that at nail salons where majority of the workers are Asian, they always talk and laugh in their native language. And the only thing bad said about her was by the customers that thought she was rude and entirely to much of a white privileged Karen type. I had a gift certificate for a pedicure and went to spend it last week. I got the basic spa pedicure and it was great. I asked if I could get a basic manicure too since I actually had a little bit of fingernail grown out. Normally I cut them so short there is little or no white tip. The nail tech asked me to upgrade to a no chip manicure and I asked what that means. She said it is just a special nail polish that doesn't chip like regular polish so it costs more. I said fine and she got started. After she got the base coat applied, I had an uneasy feeling. There was something thick and weird about that base coat. And did I just see the word "gel" on the bottle? I asked her if I was getting gel and she said no. Once again telling me it's just special polish. She had me put my hands under the uv light to dry them. They looked thick and strange, but as long as they aren't "fake" gel/acrylic/etc. it's fine for a couple of weeks. Three days into it the back ends, closest to my cuticle, started to lift. That's when I knew I had been tricked into getting something I definitely did not want on my natural nails. I used to get fiberglass wraps and acrylic 20 years ago so I know about the lifting. I am pretty mad. I am going to have to make an appointment to get this crap removed. I don't know what would happen if I tried to just use regular nail polish remover. I should have asked more questions. If rating the pedicure only, it would have been four stars. If rating the manicure only, it would have been one star. Guess I will meet in the middle and give two stars. Word to the wise - ask lots of questions!! read more

I went to get my gel polish removed and wanted a manicure. I haven't been here for these services before. I pointed to the manicure and nail removal in the brochure that I had just picked up from their counter. We discussed that it would be $25. The technician didn't do any cuticle removal on one hand. I thought she may have forgotten and she said she did it and I didn't need more. When she started painting my nails, she started to do my cuticles on two of the five nails that had been forgotten. In addition, the reason I wanted the manicure too was for the massage and hot stones which is in the description. She squeezed out the remains (not enough to cover one hand) of a bottle of lotion on my hand, then rubbed it in for 30 sec and asked me to wash my hands. I pointed back to the brochure that we had been looking at the whole time and mentioned that it includes the "relaxing hand massage w/hot stone". She called over another coworker who said that the brochure wasn't correct anymore and they don't do those things. They did not provide those services but still charged me the same price. I won't return since that is false advertising--especially when I discussed it with the technician before I started. Very disappointing. read more

So on Monday, October 21, I had time that needed to be filled between 2 doctors appointments so I thought I would get a mani pedi, rather than drive home 30 mins home to only drive back 1 hour later. Clearly I should have read these reviews first. Started with the pedi, for the most part it was fine. I did find a chunk of skin removed from my heel, but I have very dry skin so I wasn't going to fault my nail tech. Then the manicure. Apparently I picked some kind of polish that was called a chrome gel polish. I don't usually get gel because I don't like how some places remove the polish, by scraping or filing the tops of my nails. Anyway, by the next day the polish had chipped horribly. So I called the salon on Wednesday, the owner answered and was very kind, she said to come back in and they would fix it, that it was a new polish they were trying out. The first opportunity I had to return was on Sunday. When I came in there were 3 nail techs, 2 were with clients, one was just sitting, with one customer-waiting, who was also there for a repair, and who was treated quite rudely by the same woman who was rude to me. Van, asked how they could help. I explained my story and she asked me to come back tomorrow. (It was apparent from the get go that she did not want to help me.) I said no I wasn't able to come back, that I needed to have it fixed today, so she said she needed to call the manager. I said that was fine by me. After speaking to the manager she said, she would be able to help me in 30 minutes, she said the tech who was sitting wasn't familiar with gel. Ok so I waited, when she was finally able to assist me, she immediately took the drill file to my nail to remove the chipped polish, I asked her if there was another way to remove the polish possibly by soaking with the foil, she said no. Then she began to berate me, saying I should have come back sooner, the manager was waiting for me to come back. I explained that I live 30 minutes away and this was the first time I had the opportunity to return. Then she said, that the manager said I had called on last Monday, and that it had been 2 whole weeks, which was completely untrue. Meanwhile she continued to speak to her coworker in what I assume was Vietnamese, and it was very obvious that she was complaining and bitching about me. Finally, I had had enough of this woman's attitude, and poor customer service, so as she was finished removing my polish I just left. Needless to say I will not be returning, it's a shame that one employee with such a poor attitude can ruin a salon's reputation for good customer service. read more

There is a good selection of colors and they always turn out great. I haven't been to many different salons but I would say that this place is affordable and does quality work. This place has nice relaxing music, and the work is good, but the nail technicians YAP YAP and YAP some more all in Vietnamese. They are laughing, chatting and carrying on. OK - I get the fact that they are working, but it is ANYTHING but relaxing. They should keep QUIET and respect the patrons. I have been several times, hoping that perhaps I got them on a bad day.....but NO - it is a continual problem. Some manager need to let them know that the clients find it over the top annoying! I will say that I have had quality work done at this salon, but my recent experience was really awful and I will unfortunately not be going back. I was serviced by a woman by the name of "Van". She was very rushed and rough throughout the experience. She took about 10 seconds to do my cuticles, leaving most of them in tact, and therefore left a good size gap at the base of my nails without gel polish. My nails were all filed unevenly, and when I brought it to her attention, she was clearly frustrated and rude. It has been less than a week and my gel nails are already starting to peel away. At one point, the owner/manager looked over and observed our interactions, and did not attempt to intervene or follow up with me after my visit. Van should be taken off the floor and provided more training before she is allowed to service future customers. Very disappointed. read more

Four days after I had a gel manicure this is the result... chiped nails and damaged cuticle beds. The service left much to be desired. The woman who worked on my nails seemed bothered that I wanted a simple manicure with gel polish. She constantly got up from working on my hands to talk with a guest who was getting a pedicure. When she was cutting my cuticle I asked her to be careful not to over cut as she painfully dug in. She ended up ruining my cuticles and leaving me with severely damaged cuticles that started to peal towards my first knuckle. She recommended that I purchased a cuticle stick that moisturized better than oil to help them heal. This is what $38.00 and 45 minutes of your precious time gets you. Sadly my first experience was similar as this visit. I'm all about second chances but a third time will not happen. read more

I really like this place. I live up in Creedmoor and travel down to Nail Trenz for my mani/pedis. I am always satisfied with the services I receive. I refuse to go to any nail salon up in Creedmoor because they are horrible and can't compare to Nail Trenz. I always make an appointment at Nail Trenz regardless if it is a busy time or not. Many times I have another appointment that I have to get to after my mani/pedis. I let the technicians at Nail Trenz know about these appointments and they make sure I am able to get a quality mani/pedi in time in order to my next appointment on time. The facilities are clean and comfortable. My mani/pedis are pretty much similar in quality regardless of the technician, but my favorite is Diane. My gel/shellac manicures always last over two weeks - other than new nail growth, of course. The technicians at Nail Trenz are also very thorough and meticulous. read more

I went to nail Trenz Saturday, May 9, 2009 for a fill in and a pedicure for my Birthday. I was very upset when I left. The girl (Cindy) was rushing so much that she stressed me out. She filled my nails in very fast and unevenly then sent me to the pedicure chair. She then rushed over to the pedicure chair and did my pedicure too. She did not do a very good job at it either. The fill in, the pedicure and the drying time took only 45 minutes! I was not in a hurry, Cindy was. Oh, and I was over charged! I will not be going back! read more
