I got a call an hour before the appointment saying she'd be delayed and then an hour later saying she had to cancel. Bummer. But her stylist who called to keep me informed did apologize for the inconvenience and set me up for another day. I wanted purple hair with some gold highlights. After discussing, Sofia got increasingly creative and I rolled with her ideas because 1) she tells you she knows what she is doing and that she is good at it 2) hair is a creative business where I let a stylist shine. I had a budget I had to keep. Based on my iridescent colored hair, you can tell she put her heart in it. She knew I wasn't here for a bargain but she respectfully kept her committed price to me and went on to give me a lot more than I'd asked for. I had called ahead to ask if I could Bring my own beer- to that I was told sure but we do have wine. When I got there, I realized she was out of wine and actually sent someone out to buy wine to keep her word! My I felt bad, but it turned out to be a 6 hour hair process and I'm glad she accommodated me! The processing was followed by corrections and additions of what she didn't think was perfection. Then she gave me a wonderful hair cut. Colors which have lasted well and are fading rather wonderfully well (I got "fancy" colors which typically are a disaster as they fade). Now, no lie, my close friend Dipna is the Mastermind behind this new establishment...BUT, what I am writing today is an honest opinion as a customer. Net is, don't discount what I'm writing, and you will surely reap the benefits :) Aura sits in a shopping complex with ample parking and is located in a salon suite type layout where multiple small businesses share a common hallway. The entrance requires a passcode to get in, which you get after booking an appointment. As you enter the hallway, you will discover Aura on the left, and it is a quaint little room with a calm / relaxing feel. There are all sorts of machines around that are used for various services...including Laser Hair Removal! All of the pre-paperwork was done via email and online signatures, so when I got in, we were able to quickly get into how the process works and what I can expect. Dipna is extremely professional and answered all of my questions. I got in the chair and was ready for a new me...err well a hairless back anyway lol Dipna warned me about the cold gel and let me know what to expect each step of the way before progressing. The entire process was truly painless and here I am 3 weeks later seeing results (see the pics I posted). I signed up for a package of multiple treatments, (again I said I am being honest here) because to completely tame my beast of a back, it's realistically going to take a few attempts to get it all haha! Once done, we scheduled the next treatment appointment and off I went with my dreams of a hairless back now underway! Only thing that could have made it better is a hot towel post treatment to cleanse the treatment area. At my last appointment here there were 2 small red roaches crawling on the floor in my treatment…read moreroom. When I brought this to the Managers attention her response was we live in NC, and NC has roaches. I was completely taken back by that response by a medical day spa that specializes in treatments including plastic surgery that require full sanitation to result in zero side effects. I also received BBL laser here on my legs which did absolutely nothing. I then got it on my arms and hands. The hands hurt so bad mine were literally shaking. I personally think the laser was turned up too high for my hands but the Manager stated this is normal. The night of my BBL I couldn't sleep due to my right arm and hand literally being hot to the touch and burning however my left arm and hand were fine. I then realized they offered me the cooling air device during my left arm and hand treatment but not my right. When I brought this to the Managers attention with provided images of my arm she had zero sympathy, said it was normal, and basically told me to go find a new spa. I was also charged for the BBL laser at a different price than I was quoted by the front desk. $850 for 1 treatment that basically burned one of my arms. I don't recommend this practice whatsoever. They had a great provider here named Courtney and she left but I'm not sure why. Maybe it was due to the things I witnessed.

I wish I had access to a practice like this when I was a teenager suffering from acne and low confidence, but at least I benefit now and can finally have better skin as an adult. The treatments are customized to your skin. I get acne treatment facials, salicylic acid chemical peels, laser treatments for rosacea, and use topical syrums and prescription creams. Everything they recommend works really well to keep my skin clear and they sell great products. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing.

I had my first micro needling treatment here with Chloe. I didn't know quite what to expect going…read morein. The treatment took longer than I expected. First, she applied numbing cream to my face and it had to sit there for awhile to take effect. The space itself is relaxing, quiet, and easy to access and park from Six Forks Rd. It felt a little weird to have a numb face but not as bad as a dental procedure. Chloe was so great about continuously explaining what was coming next and which areas might feel a little spicier when they were micro needled (upper lip, nose) and asking me how I was doing. Overall, it was not very painful. Be prepared that immediately afterwards your face will be BRIGHT red. That lasted about two days and faded continually afterwards. It also had a sunburned feeling the first day once the numbing wore off. I mostly wanted to try micro needling for hyperpigmentation. I believe it takes a couple treatments to really see results but my skin does feel more glowy a week after and seems totally healed. Chloe sent me home with some soothing balms and tinted sunscreen to apply frequently to my face which definitely helped. Overall I really loved the Aesthetics Lounge and look forward to more treatments there.
