I visited today for threading with Sanya. A neighbor highly recommended her services. I called and was taken as soon as I arrived. Sanya discussed what I wanted in terms of the shape I desired. My eyebrows have been curly and problematic for years. I have been threading my eyebrows since I was 15. From waxing to lamination treatments, as you age, you have to remain consistent. I took a break from waxing and lamination treatments for the past 6 months, trying to achieve growth in sparse areas. Threading seems to be the most precise hair removal service for brows. Sanya was kind, gentle and checked in with me to make sure the shape was to my liking. We discussed goals and tinting for a thicker/ fuller look in thinning areas. I have been coming here for a few years for my eyebrows. Lately it's been super variable quality depending on who you get. I used to go with BiBi and another lady earlier but the last 2-3 ladies who have done my eyebrows (one's name starts with an A, another one was the daughter of the owner, and another time maybe the owner or someone else) completely botched them to the exact opposite of my request and pictures. What's worse is when you take off hair in the wrong places it may not grow back and they have tried to gaslight me saying I never had hair in certain areas where they had literally just taken it off and messed up. Technician seemed to be in a hurry and did not take time to make sure the edges and any stray hairs were taken care of. Also the color was not applied neatly resulting in second coat. So I went in and saw the tint and eyebrow threading was 25$!! Great right? The music and customer service was great vibes but not the quality of the work. Prior to starting I told her exactly what I wanted. When threading, she went right in with no mapping or anything causing the shape to be off! One arch is further out than the other. With the tint, she didn't fade out the front so it's two huge blocks on my face. I told the woman in the past the dark brown was too dark so I'd like brown, something natural. She said okay I'll do dark brown and won't leave it on for as long. I trusted her so I said okay. The tint was applied outside of my brows, making them bigger. My hair is brown and my ends are light, now my brows are too dark/bold. Upon going home and having a closer look one was threaded thinner than the other so I'm thinking maybe it was attempted to be hidden with the tint. Not sure, customer service was good but I wouldn't recommend this place. I have to wait awhile for the hair to grow back and my natural arch was cut into! I still tipped but be careful going here. I am extremely picky about eyebrow threading shops, having had a handful of bad experiences. Since I cannot frequent my favorite eyebrow shop in Northern Virginia, I have been on a quest to find "a home". Before stumbling on "Define Brows", I visited 3 other shops, which I probably shouldn't name. One place plucked too many hairs, causing a hole in my eye brow (my brows are really tricky) and blamed it on me saying it was already like that (lol) and other places caused me to bleed and/or breakout due to the spray they would apply afterward. Needless to say, I'm so glad I found "Define Brows". Relieved, actually. The uneasiness I get before experimenting with a new place, scares me. But here, I am always in and out within 15 minutes, parking is easy, staff is friendly and most of all, they are very good at their craft. They are detailed, confident and precise. Tip: Always cushion a few hours between "browing" and any special event in case you break out or get red spots. Ya don't want to look like a pizza face going into a special occasion! It's ok to decline their lotion or spray, just speak up and feel free to bring your own soother. Sometimes they insist but when I tell them it irritates my skin, they back off. I've been here a few times before as it was convenient on my way home for work. They accept walk-ins (which is awesome) and any time I have stopped by, they took me almost right away. I did have a not so great experience here one time when one of the ladies doing the threading took way too much off of my eyebrow. She was not the employee I had do my brows the previous times. I was devastated as I would now have to grow out my brow and I did not plan to come back. (I think it was because they were a bit busy and she was bouncing back and forth amongst customers. She definitely seemed like she was rushing.) I did not see this employee during my recent visit. Since I really needed my brows done and wanted to be fair, I decided to stop by and give them another try. I went in after work and was greeted immediately. I told the employee that I wanted my brows threaded and she took me right away. She pulled all new thread and started working on my brows. She showed me my brows in the mirror to make sure I was satisfied and they looked SO good. She also got all of the hairs above and beside my brows that a lot of threaders leave or try to charge extra to remove. I was so glad she did that. I also did not have as much irritation as I usually do after threading because she wasn't as harsh with the movements. The shop itself is very simple, modern, and clean. It's in a great location right in Brier Creek. Also, when I checked in on Yelp, I noticed that there was 50% off eyebrow threading and the employee told me I could use it. How awesome!! Their prices are already reasonable so this was a cool surprise. I'm glad I gave this salon another try and will likely stop back after work when my eyebrows need threading. read more

Got my eyebrows threaded yesterday for the 2nd time here. I've been getting my eyebrows shaped for years. I've been getting them threaded for the last 4 years. However, I must say that this is the best my eyebrows have looked, ever. What I liked most was the attention and genuine care shown. Each time, after one eyebrow was done I was given a mirror to ensure it was the look I wanted to achieve. A lot of other places just start and don't ask questions. Hey, eyebrows can change the entire look of your face...I want to know what's happening. Besides the brows, the place is clean, they're reasonably priced, there's usually parking available right in front and I've been in and out in less than 15 minutes each time. First off, she asked me how I wanted my brows. In all of my many years getting my eyebrows threaded/waxed, NO ONE has asked me that! I was off the bat impressed. And my eyebrows looked KILLER afterwards! She was so sweet, professional and very tactful with asking me if I wanted my overgrown mustache threaded (yikes). Y'all should ALLL go see Sonja at Define. Every time I go to Raleigh and need my eyebrows done- I go here. The ladies are super nice. Since my eyebrows are kinda thin- I tried the tinting this time. All together for the threading and tinting was $25. They said it would last 1-2 weeks. So I decided to try that vs using my Drug store bought eyebrow tinting. Well it barely lasted 2 days and I made sure when I was washing my face to just gently pat my eyebrows vs washing like I normally do. Only giving them 4 stars because of the tinting that was essentially $17 and lasted less than 48 hours. But the ladies are super nice and sweet. Recently opened, Define offers a clean spacious interior with an array of services. As a part of their grand opening, they currently have special promotions. I came in for the $5 eyebrow threading special. I was given a tablet and had to check myself in. The process was kinda tedious because the autocorrect feature kept changing my email address. The lady who worked on my brows was nice and courteous, although she was an aggressive threader. After she was done, my unruly eyebrows were a little tender but nicely shaped. Of course I didn't notice until the last strip she put on my leg, but all I could think about as I walked out was all the girly-part-cooties I now had on my legs... No thank you. I don't want to give bad reviews but after growing my eyebrows out for 3 months I went in & showed them a picture of what I wanted and was specific about keeping my eyebrows THICK and just clean up around my eyebrows, and I got the exact opposite. My first eyebrow came out soooo thin that she had to match it with the other one so now I'm stuck with two skinny eyebrows and when I got home I realized there were lines of hair she left on the top that I had to tweeze. It was such a terrible experience that if you want thick full eyebrows, don't recommend this place, as they don't listen to what you want read more

My brows look amazing! Defined and clean but not too thin, and best of all, even! I hate brow waxing because "aestheticians" always mess up my brows so that ends up not aesthetically pleasing at all. I usually pluck them myself but it is very time-consuming so the threading here was exactly what I have been looking for all my life, plus it is gentle on my skin. The prices are reasonable, better than waxing and the result is so much better! I will definitely be a return customer. Edit: I wish I could rate service categories separately... since I cannot, this place is getting a lower rating now because the wax was not good... at all. The person who did it was perfectly nice, but I had to show her all the spots she missed on my legs, then she blamed not being able to get them on the lighting! They need another lamp--a place offering a service should have the right equipment. Also she went over certain areas of my underarms multiple times because she kept applying the wax in the wrong direction and now my armpits are raw from the skin that was ripped off. I was really hoping the wax would be as good as the threading because it is so inexpensive in comparison to other waxing places in the area. Sadly it was more trouble than paying more would've been. Bottom line: definitely go for the threading, stay far away from the wax. read more

I have been going to European Wax for almost a decade, first the one at SouthPoint, then followed my incredible technician Kim to Brier Creek, suddenly she left ....without consult I was passes on to another, who was surprising just as awesome! Just this week I am called to say she is no longer available and we've put you with someone else! Oh no I say.. and I go on line and she is off the schedule...Last straw!!!OK long story!! just setting up so you will understand the type of customer care I'm accustomed to...Define is.... well...the space is gentle , room peaceful..not private but...
