This restaurant is on a great piece of property. Large seating indoors and outdoors. This place could be booming if they had better marketing. I love their pho bar. It's a salad bar style pho place where you grab your own cilantro, onion, jalapeño and other pho ingredients. The broth was nothing special but it was good. The beef used was very bland but the sauces they had available made the pho overall very tasty. Because of the low price point, that's the reason why I'd go back again and again. "NOT SO GOOD PHO" So I'll start by saying I was so trilled to have a Pho place near me but I have to report that after trying the rare beef Pho it was NOT what I expected. I know my Pho's and I know a good one from a bad one. And the one I had was not good at all. In fact, I did not finish it. The service from the time I ordered over the phone for a take out was bad. The person that took my order was NOT very nice at all. Also, it was my first time ever there and when I picked up my order the person handed me the carryout all nicely tied up. I was the only person in the entire restaurant. He watched me walk out without telling me I had to get my own condiments like the basil, cilantro, lime, etc. He knew...but did not stop me or tell me when he handed me my order. I was very unhappy to see I had non of that when I got home. I was not happy at all about that. So, I tried to eat it anyway, with some of those things I had at home and like I said I did not finish it. The Pho broth was very salty and tasted as if it came out from a box of beef broth that anyone can buy at the store. The beef was already in the hot broth cooking and not served to me raw as all Pho's are when served so it was very chewy and it also seemed as thought it was not a nice cut of beef but something they pounded to tenderize it. I live right down the street from this fine establishment. I finally decided to stop by and give it a try one lovely afternoon and was not disappointed. The owner here is very friendly and welcoming. I ended up getting a normal bowl of pho with beef, brisket, and tendon. The size was a little small but I got an appetizer as well so it was full in the end. I think I got some sort of dumplings. On the day I went they were out of the crab or lobster ones, I'm not too sure what they were but I remember telling myself I need to return soon to try them. Out of... thyme? Time 4 Pho does things a bit differently from the standard ID pho slinger. The space is clean, including an oddly spacious, naturally lit bathroom, and they have opted for counter service instead of the standard "streamlined" table service and offer several other options from bun to spring rolls. Business-wise, 4 forms of fiscal responsibility: - A cashier sporting an Azteca T-Shirt, rather than branded gear sporting "T4P" - A condiment bar for herbs, onions, sprouts and sauces, to take only what is needed - Charging ~$7 for a large bowl of veggie pho (available with veggie or chicken broth) - An easily cleaned unfinished (concrete?) floor that cheaply provides aesthetic contrast They are trying really hard to be a cut above their competition, 4 sure. This makes me feel slightly guilty for saying the following, but as an omnivore, despite the breadth of vegetables, on strength of savory taste and value I like the veggie pho with mushrooms and tofu at the ubiquitous, cheaper, shadier, and more corporate Than Brothers better. Atmospherically, for an obligatory morning after hangover cure brunch with a high maintenance partner or introducing one's rigid homegrown American family to pho, it is time a quick Vietnamese restaurant delivered. Is there better Pho on earth? Yes. Is this really really good Pho. Yes. Does the amount of crap you can put into the Pho matter? Yes. But .. do the noodles matter? Yes they do and Time 4 Pho has really good noodles. While one can cross the bridge into Ballard and go to Than Brothers - Than Brothers is surly and their noodles are horrific. Time 4 Pho is also within walking distance of my house which makes it a god send. The Time 4 Pho owners are so sweet you could spread them on toast. And they make a bitchin salty lemonade. Time 4 Pho is also family friendly. It's just called Time 4 Pho. Not "Pho King" or "Pho Cough" or "Pho Queue" or anything you'd have to explain to your kids is just a joke but it's not one you should repeat. Time 4 Pho is honest Pho. Their tendon is probably the best I've had actually - they seem to take some care in the quality of their ingredients. Lastly, Time 4 Pho is clean, comfortable and worthy of your attention. I'm Vietnamese and have travelled up and down Vietnam--and now Seattle--in search of good pho. Broth: Worse I have had in Seattle (worse steak would be Pho Cyclo). NO flavor. They didn't have pho ! They were out of the noodles... AT A PHO RESTAURANT! Is it too much to ask that they deliver what they advertise? All I wanted was some pho... Disheartened I settled for chicken katsu. 20 minutes later (record for longest time wait time ever and not by a margin - the other teriyaki place up the street, along with many many teriyaki places, takes 5 minutes). Our food was to go. When we proceeded to serve items from their salad/spice bar, the lady told us we couldn't because that was for pho dishes only. WHAT! haha It was so unbelievable - so we could have helped ourselves to those items IF you had what we originally wanted... Great business managing on running out of the noodles AND for compensating dissatisfied customers by rejecting their requests... On a funny note, they have caller ID through their cable provider so every time a person calls to place an order, their name and phone number shows up on every television. Mmmmm pho! I love it. And this place serves up a mean, steaming bowl of it. Delish. I got the pho gai (chicken) and was happy to see a "condiment bar" for all my extras, like parsley and basil. Mmmm. The broth was divine. Yes, I've had better pho, but only at an authentic pho restaurant in Oklahoma City. This one is a very, very, very close runner-up. This place does things differently. I would say mostly better. First there is a pho toppings bar. All of the veggies and herbs are in one place and, unlike most pho places, they have everything. Sliced white onions, green onions, peppers, sprouts, basil, and other condiments that are often missing in pho joints like fish sauce are here. Sriracha and hoisin are still found at the table. The broth here is different than most that I've had and was intriguing. I'm not sure that it's its dah besterestest, but it is enjoyable. Their fresh rolls are missing pickled carrot (because then they would have to be made fresh), but the peanut sauce makes up for it. They also have bahn mi and milk tea. There are a few reasons I choose to go to Time 4 Pho. 1) I live just down the street, so I can literally walk there. That being said it is open EVERYDAY! until like 9 PM, thats amazing! 2) Pho is GREAT hangover food. I can get up, walk up the street, carry it back, eat, and lay back down on my couch feeling a little bit better. 3) They allow you to choose the amount of bean sprouts, green onions, basil, lime, and peppers that you want. I like this because I feel like I'm not wasting extra sprouts (I only like a little bit). 4) Take out is super easy and super quick. After walking in, ordering to carry-out, and walking out with my food I don't think it's ever taken more then 5 minutes. So, I do really love stopping by Time 4 Pho, everyone is very nice there and I appreciate the positive vibe. Oh, and not to mention, their seafood mini egg rolls are delicious! :) Update: So I wanted to do a quick update. I recently tried their shrimp spring rolls and OH my goodness. I wouldn't say this is the best pho I've ever had in Seattle. Its not. But it is, as a previous reviewer keenly pointed out, very likely the cleanest and most contemporary designed pho cafe. The lime green color scheme (with matching lime green chop sticks) gives the interior a bright modern outdoorsy atmosphere. Imagine if there was a pho cafe inside Ikea, and that's pretty much how this place appears to me. Additionally, the pho bar (bean sprouts, whole basil, lime wedges, green peppers, cilantro, green onion, etc.) is a very unique and cool idea. Pho-wise I give them a 3.5, ambience they get a 4.5. The fact that they are open on Sundays is definitely a plus! I plan on going back to try the rolls and meat/noodle dishes, such as: -Bun Thit Nuong -Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio -Com Thit Nuong -Goi Cuon -Cha Gio The only thing lacking as far as I can see, are Vietnamese style sandwiches. We don't have a car yet since we just moved here recently from NY so this is the closest pho restaurant near us. I was very surprised that they were Korean owned because in NY, all the pho places are owned by Vietnamese folks. Quality and service is great! I got lost driving around Seattle and was so hungry. Didn't have breakfast or lunch and Seattle traffic drove me insane. Crazy traffic with an empty stomach=STACEY MAD! Before I came in, I yelped this place out to see if it was even worth to try. Well, I'm yelping it...so...guess I'll.... yum yum yum...ahhhhh...done! My first impression was: -the owners or workers there were Koreans. Nothing wrong with that! Just pleasantly surprised because most Pho restaurants were owned or operated by Vietnamese. My fear of the pho not being up to par. BOY was I wrong! I ordered a small bowl of pho ($6) with tripe and rare steaks. More tripe please?! Rare steaks were sweet, tender and not overly cooked. The broth was sufficiently HOT so that I could add cilantro, green onions, jalapeno, etc...from their condiments bar. Great idea by the way! Broth was flavorful, not too thick with herbs or loaded with MSG. I didn't say there wasn't none in the broth... Overall, I would definitely come back for other items on the menu. read more

I really wanted to give this place a shot due to be near by and seeing some mixed reviews on Yelp. I have to say it was odd. You walk in and there are signs that tell you to order at the counter. They have this odd toppings bar deal. I wasn't sure what to make of that and also i forgot to use it in my pho. I guess the first sign that should have made me weary was when I started to give my order in Vietnamese and the older lady did not understand me..Really odd when you are in the Seattle area and you go to a Pho restaurant and the old lady who appears to also be the cook is unable to understand Vietnamese... I ordered a pho deluxe, pork fried rice and an order of egg rolls. The egg rolls came..which was an order of two for $4.50 not including tax. I was shocked by that. I was at least expecting three if not four.. They tasted weird..it was the Pork ones and it had a weird after taste. Than came the Pho and the Fried rice. My husbands exact words were," This is one of the worst fried rice I have ever had." He described it to be both sticky and unfresh, it looked to be over fried and a small portion of fried rice. My pho was both unflavorful and they were really stingy with the meat and noodle portion. I am not sure if they think that because they are in Magnolia that most people will be american so they wont really care for the flavor or portion sizes? I will not be coming back and I left feeling sick to my stomach. I think they might use MSG. It didn't taste right the flavors. Our office loves pho but usually has to head across the Ballard bridge to get it. This was our first time trying Time 4 Pho, and we were impressed. We tried their rare steak, chicken and veggie/tofu soup. The dining room is clean and has 2 large TVs. The service is friendly and fast enough. Really wanted this Pho place to be our go to pho place as it is in Magnolia. Dined in a few times, food is OK but service can be improved. We picked up a to-go order once where we were given a container to fill up the veggies. Well, if you want us to fill it up, we'll fill it up. I had avoided this place many times, just based on the exterior. But the inside is a bright and shiny different story. I think the other reviewers had it right--fast, friendly service, the toppings bar is a great idea, and the broth is kind of bland (but you can jazz it up with the plethora of goodies at the bar. Yes, I said "plethora".) I did like the veggie pho because it had broccoli and a couple of other unexpected veggies in it. My husband works in the International District and was satisfied, but a little let down by the lack of flavor. This little pho shop is fantastic. The pho is just as tasty as you'd like, and the condiment bar really helps dial in the flavor just to your liking. I've been here probably 4 or 5 times and I leave happy every time. I always order veggie and tofu pho and tofu spring rolls. First of all, I LOVE their tofu spring rolls and the peanut sauce they come with. So delicious. Secondly, the veggie tofu pho here is actually made with a veggie broth. I can't tell you how many pho places I've been to where I ask if their tofu pho is served in veggie broth and they say, "no, only beef broth." Well why the hell would I want tofu if I was cool with beef in the first place. But I digress. If you get pho here, they have a self serve condiment bar with chili sauce, green and white onions, Thai basil, jalapeno slices, sprouts and cilantro. This is awesome because sometimes I get all the add ins and sometimes I only want cilantro. This way I don't have to feel guilty for not eating all the sprouts other pho places bring me; here I can just take what I need. They also have bahn mi sandwiches with tofu or meat and I am excited to try out those next. Another nice feature about this restaurant is that they have parking! Oh yes, free, available front row parking. I could yell out in joy. The outside of the restaurant isn't that pretty, but they keep the inside and bathrooms clean. They also have three big screen tvs, so if you need to catch up on the news or the latest on the E! channel, they've got you covered. I'm a fan. This is my neighborhood go to pho place. One because the food is good and two because they have other delicious things on the menu besides pho. This is the best tasting pho I've had since I moved to Seattle. Thumbs up for the utter spotlessness and radiant cleanliness of Time 4 Pho and being able to see your dish being made. The other pho places I have tried on University Ave. and Aurora don't look conspicuously cockroach-y... but it's a possibility that they might be on a covert basis. Like the other reviewers said, there is a mini-condiment bar here where you can load up your plate with as much as you like of bean sprouts, cilantro, lime, jalapenos, basil, and thinly-sliced onions. As an avid citrus lover, no longer do I have to feel silly asking a waitress for another 1/8 piece of lime for my soup. The ingredients are fresh, and it's cool to be able to customize pho to your taste. There are more than a few veggie options, and unlike pho which turns into an opaque, soggy noodle broth glop in the end, I ended up finishing the entire bowl of tasty, fresh broth and noodles. After spending last night into the wee hours yesterday in a loud, smoke-filled warehouse, this soup was awesome. The only thing could knock off a star for is that either I was too bleary to find where you serve yourself water, or there is none? Good thing I didn't accidently bite into a jalapeno while I was eating... I would've been SOL. read more

Can't find a good pho place in Seattle yet. The people are nice, however the food is just okay. There's not much within walking distance around Interbay so this was just a lazy dinner stop. The spring rolls are big but they are filled with mostly lettuce and noodles...not much shrimp. The pho was a little disappointing because the broth didn't have great flavor. I want to say there was msg in it since I was extremely thirsty afterwards but I can't say for sure. Portion size okay. Flavor not so much. This is your only choice for, Vietnamese beef noodle soup, Pho (pronounced: fuh as in "motha pho-ther) in Magnolia because next closest place is Uptown (lower QA for the ignorant) or Ballard. They have bun (vermicelli) bowls & com (rice) plates. I have many Vietnamese friends and had a Vietnamese gf so I ate a lot of Vietnamese along with nuoc mam (fish sauce). ;) I ate at another place that also had Pho in their name in Kent but I didn't order the Pho and had the bun, which wasn't up to par. I told this to a Vietnamese restaurateur & they told me a Vietnamese restaurant either focuses on pho or it all suffers - mediocre pho & everything else. In other words, if you want pho, go to a place that only serves pho. "What's unique is the condiment bar and fast food style counter service. Counter service & condiment bar makes sense and is smart & green. You don't have to tip as much & less goes to waste. If you want more condiments it's self-serve. Some complain about price but it comes out the same with counter service vs a server unless you're too cheap to tip the server? I must have chili oil with my pho & they don't have any. The heart and soul of pho is the broth not the noodles nor the condiments. The broth wasn't clear and was milky, which means they didn't clean the bones well before cooking and that the broth was over-boiled meaning they rushed the process which should be around 12 hours to properly extract the marrow out of the bone. Pho broth should be clear and free of impurities. Making soup stock is the foundation of cooking and must embody the flavor of the beef bones, vegetables and herbs and must be constantly skimmed and strained. It wasn't very flavor-pho. The interior decor is nicer than their dry cleaner-looking sign and the KOREAN owner is extremely friendly. Need I say more? read more

I've been coming to this establishment for several years now. Sadly of late they've gone from a 3 to a 2 start establishment. The broth, which by any measure is the heart of great pho has in the last 2-3 visits been completely tasteless and cloudy (a cardinal sin). I mean really. No hint of star anise, no herbal scent what so ever, and while I'm finding it hard to even type this. Not enough salt. In a town with so much competition I hope they're able to improve. Pho is hard to come by where I'm from, so I try to get it every time I find a place that serves it. Time 4 Pho is a great place for pho. The options are great, I ordered a large bowl of beef pho with tendon + brisket. The broth was so delicious and rich, the owner (I presume) told me the broth cooks the whole day before being served. I love how there is a salad bar with all of the toppings, some people like the option to grab their own quantities of lime, thai basil, & bean sprouts; it makes it easier. I ordered a large bowl of pho I think a large was a little to large for an early dinner, but I could see a small(medium) being the best for a snack or light meal. When you peer into the back kitchen you can see older Vietnamese woman working away on the broth & prep work....great sign. The one thing that we found to be undrinkable was the Thai iced tea, it was very citrusy, almost as if they added lemon to the condensed milk mixture, really bad, so I would recommend sticking to soda, wine or beer.
