Amazing food! Third generation Thai restaurant that had not failed us in over 20 years that we've been visiting. Set in the heart of Magnolia, where Thai food can be hard to find! Celebrated my mom and dad's 49th wedding anniversary and the service did not fail. They even made a special fish dish that we used to eat at another local eatery that had since closed. We wish the owners and workers the very best as we move out of Magnolia very soon, and hope this restaurant serves people for more generations to come! read more

This is a local to Magnolia spot. It looks like they do a lot of takeout orders. And yes, someone said they'll mess them up and that did happen to me. If I weren't allergic to coconut I wouldn't have bothered to bring it back. The food was really good and I do recommend it for an easy weeknight or weekend grab. The pricing is on par with Seattle Thai food and the portions are healthy. The inside of the restaurant seems cute, not overly done and not anything fancy. I wouldn't mind doing lunch here and people watching in the village. read more

In magnolia is a Thai food restaurant that has been a neighborhood staple for years. The interior is comfortable but could use a freshening up, but the staff are welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious and the sticky rice with mango and the black sticky rice with coconut milk amazing!! The servings are generous, and they clearly do a lot of takeout business. What they lack in ambiance ( unfortunate view of the Chevron gas station) they make up for in spicy delicious Thai Cuisine!! We will be back. read more

We've been going to this little place for years now, as we live in the Magnolia neighborhood. It has been consistently good. The restaurant itself is cozy, not terribly big. We've gotten it more as takeout. Their Swimming Rama is excellent, chicken satay also excellent. Their Panang curry is good, but I've had better elsewhere. If you get takeout, I recommend double checking your order before you leave the restaurant, as we have had a couple of issues with things being left out. They are pretty busy, so if you can order ahead, all the better. If you just walk in & order, you may have to wait a bit. It's street parking, but pretty easy to find. read more

Wonderful mom and pop Thai restaurant. About 5 years ago we began to reduce our single use, unnecessary plastic, and that meant bringing our own take out containers. Kinnaree was so accommodating and filled my containers no problem. They know me now when I come in! I order, then arrive ~10 mins later w my containers. What's more, they were one of the FIRST sponsors for Magnolia's Vino in the Village Reuse Raffle! By bringing your own wine glass to this event, you're eligible to win prizes from local vendors, one of which is a generous gift certificate from Kinnaree Thai! Not only is their tofu eggplant dish (and Phad See Iew and Phad Thai dish) delicious, but they care about our community and the planet. Thank you, Kinnaree Thai for your kindness, flexibility w my take home containers and YUMMY eats!! read more

Local Thai restaurant that's always been a big favorite. Great for a quiet dine-in or takeout. Staff is always very pleasant and helpful, and prices are surprisingly reasonable given the overall location. read more

Good flavor, prompt service. Never had to wait long for our food to be ready. As far as take out Thai Food good, this place hits the spot. read more

A nice local Thai place in Magnolia. The penang curry was flavorful. Pad see ew was great but the chicken was a tad tough. read more

I have no idea why Kinnaree has 3 stars. Maybe they had a harder time during the pandemic (not my experience) but their food & service is wonderful now. Their food is always on point - flavorful, fresh, and delicious. I usually get the Tom yum soup with a side of bean thread noodles and it is so good. I've had the pad Thai, pad see ew, and papaya salad and those are super yummy, as well. And the people that work there are so nice!! Pink, who usually answers the phone, is the sweetest! Highly recommend. Try out this cute hole in the wall! read more

The only thing I got was an order of Fresh Rolls- and I got them to take out- They were a little dry- probably because they were pre-made and not "fresh". The reason I know they were not fresh- I had literally just ordered them and I literally took a seat after paying for them and the woman had already bagged them in a take-out bag ready to go for me in less than 2 minutes. The taste was ok the texture was just a hair dry but the sauce that they put with them is pretty tasty. I may come back here just for the fresh rolls (maybe to ask t make them fresh next time) as nothing else look appealing. read more

Used to love this place; great phad thai. Ordered 3 orders tonight; two one star, one two star . Noodles were mushy, overcooked, no difference between 1 and 2 star. No pepper flakes, just white mushy noodles; all three dishes looked identical . Had to add sweet chili sauce to give it any flavor. We will not be back nor will we refer any friends; too many good Thai places . My son lives in Denver and always looked forward to going there when in town; never again. You have really gone downhill. I took a Thai cooking class and mine was better; sad statement read more

I'll be honest, I come here like once a week. The people are amazing, the food is awesome and they let me customize my orders without making me feel bad. Not only that, they remembered my birthday! :) Though I can't speak for all of the food, the massaman curry and the garlic fried rice are always on point. Recommended :) read more

This is a nice, cozy, and delicious restaurant in Magnolia. Great atmosphere, family owned, and they have a really nice team. Would recommend and their pad see ew is one of my favorite! read more

Kinnaree Thai is your regular, standard thai restaurant that I'm sure you've eaten at before - Its not bad, its not remarkable, but you will get a generous portion of decent thai food. The service is closer to self serve, but not in a bad way. I had the Yen Ta Fo Noodle Soup and would recommend it on a cold day. read more

Yikes! It was the worst Thai food I've had from the east to west coast (I'm nearing 50) It looked like other people's leftovers. Three dishes were: dry/too salty/lifeless/overcooked, lacked essence of any true Thai flavors. I think I've had better frozen meals from grocery stores. Unsure how one thinks they have the ability/talent to open up a restaurant and take up real estate with such garbage. My suggestion is to find a different cook, redo the menu and also to visit other Thai restaurants to know what it takes to give the community real Thai food. Please listen to the neighbors you serve. read more

I was looking for some great local Thai in the Magnolia area. I stopped in here with a friend and we both left with a 'blah' impression. The service was 'ok', the food was 'ok' the ambiance was 'ok'. Overall a underwhelming experience. The restaurant and the experience in no way was representative of the fun and uniquely eclectic flavor profiles that usually make up Thai food. After our visit we wished we had have gone somewhere else... So that's where I suggest you start read more

My coworkers loved this place and recommended to my sister and I. We went at noon on a Tuesday. They opened at noon so there was no one in there yet. My sister and I ordered the tom yum and pad thai. The tom yum was so sad!! There was just chicken and mushroom in it. Its one of the sadest tom yum Ive ever had. The pad thai was surprisingly good. It actually had flavors. I also ordered a side of rice. The rice was old and smelled old, so that was dissapointing. Glad I tried but would not go again. read more

a great local thai spot. I really like their curries-- very flavorful and always quick and hot. Thai iced tea is also very good. Portions are plentiful. read more

Got take out Pad Thai. Basically perfect. Friendly staff and chill vibe. The interiors are not the fanciest but the food is so.... Great place for Thai in Magnolia read more

Very nice folks serve good thai food. The location was never much to look at so having it become all takeout is perfect. They seem to be faster these days. My only suggestion is to stay away from the specials and stick with the main dishes you'd usually order, like pad thai, curries, and the like. read more

Not sure why only a 3 star. This is a solid place for Thai food. We've been there a half dozen times or so and always had good food. Very good pad thai and curry dishes. The crab rangoons are average, not enough crab, just tastes like cream cheese... but are homemade wrapped. The only consistent negative to the place is I don't like that the chefs never seem to have their masks on fully, or sometimes not at all. Makes me a bit uneasy, but I've been back for the food. read more

Local + decent. So far, I recommend the pad see ew + their Thai iced tea! There was pretty much no one when we were there, so please come by and see for yourself. read more

Small portions, high prices. Rice costs extra. The food is just okay, nothing exceptional for the cost. Wish I could give it better reviews. The atmosphere was cozy and nice. read more

I should have suspected something when we arrived without a single patron sitting in the dining area. Maybe a foreshadowing that the food would cause me to spend some quality time atop my porcelain throne later in the evening? Everything tasted fine and dandy - from the spring rolls, to the swimming rama - but I stated the former passage only because both myself and the lady got a bit sick to our stomach afterwards. Maybe the particular dish we ordered just didn't agree with our digestive systems, or maybe God himself was spiting me for cutting of that slow driver on 520 moments earlier. Either way, the atmosphere/décor/service/pricing were all fantastic. The food even tasted good, just didn't sit well. Maybe - just maybe - I'll be back to try something else and shine a new light on this place. read more

They have pretty good Thaifood. I suppose the best I've found in Magnolia, though it is the only Thai place in Magnolia. I liked the food I ordered last time. I always get PadSeeEww and I was happy with it as far as I can remember :) read more

I have Thai food about once a week so I feel I have a decent baseline to judge what qualifies as good vs. not so good Thai, at least as it compares to all the other choices in the city, and this is definitely, without a doubt, hands down, the worst Thai food I've ever had. If you live on the Island (Magnolia) as I do, this place is your only near by option for Thai, so you might feel compelled to dine here out of convenience, but after the meal I just had I can assure you driving a few extra miles to one of the other dozen or so Thai options available is time/miles well worth spending, that is unless you love a stomach-turning spicy-hot rendition of Hamburger Helper - if this is you're idea of good Thai food, then you'll love this place. Uggg. read more

The take out here is amazing. Only eaten sit down at the restaurant once and food was good, but somehow the take out is even better! Green curry is one of my favs as well as the phad kee mao. Your order is always ready in 10-15 minutes...which during traffic is all it takes to get from Elliot into downtown Magnolia if you call your order in! read more

The take out is decent if you live in Magnolia and are in a bind. If I didn't live in Magnolia I probably wouldn't eat here that much. I am giving an extra star because of convenience and a few times I have dined in have been 4 star. I have had the phad thai and showering rama. The ingredients are good but nothing to write home about. One thing is they get your food out pretty dang fast making it good for a quick lunch. There is definately better Thai places in this city. Also, their history with the department of health is less than stellar. read more

Pretty standard Thai food offering. The other reviews are correct in that they don't make it spicy enough. I do highly recommend getting take out instead of dining in. Their service is so slow every time I dine in. Food is always cooked at the same speed, just the rest of the service is slow. It's gotten better, but don't eat in if you don't have at least an hour. read more

This place was the epitome of 'okay.' I ordered a beef curry, honestly can't remember which one. It was okay. Super heavy on zucchini. We're talking like 60% zucchini -- truly unheard of zucchini levels. I asked for 5 star spicy...I said I liked 'really spicy' and made knowing eye-contact with the waiter. Of course it wasn't anywhere close to spicy. I think 5 stars just means one extra shake of crushed red pepper into the curry. Still, not bad. I wouldn't discourage anyone from going here, but I think if you look at the the people waiting outside of El Ranchon, the full tables at Ichiro and then see that this place is ALWAYS empty that might be a pretty good indication of where it sits in the Magnolia restaurant pecking order. On the plus side I learned how to spell zucchini by writing this review. Z-U-C-C-H-I-N-I. Thanks Kinnaree Thai! read more

Hard to review a place after only eating there once. That being said, I'm sure my wife and I will go back again and try other dishes. and if we are wowed next time, I may raise the star rating, but for now, this is what I'm going on. We were both hopeful, but sadly we were both a bit underwhelmed. We are curry freaks and that's typically all we order, and we love it. So when we found out there was a Thai place near us, we were pretty stoked. I always get red curry, and my wife always goes for the green curry. Mine was pretty bland and lackluster. I actually had to ask for table salt to see if I could spike up the flavor a bit. It was as if they were mixing it with water or something to spread it out and make it more cost effective. As it turns out, their prices are very reasonable, but then, maybe this is the reason. Ya get what ya pay for. The egg rolls were fresh and very good, and the waitress was very nice and accommodating. The portions were a bit on the small side though, and the curry dishes don't come with rice--which is really the only way to eat it. So you have to order a side of rice and it's only about a quarter cup (and for a big guy like me, doesn't do the trick). Make no mistake, we are not finished with this place. I feel there is potential there and, well, we don't really have much of a choice considering our location. A lot of people on here are spot on when they say "it's not the best, but certainly not the worst". For the price, really not too bad. That's really all I can say! read more

This place had been a favorite for years but we`ve noticed a change. I had some very over cooked shrimp on two occasions and a lack of flavor overall. It`s not as good as it used to be. read more

Kinnaree is a small Thai restaurant in a cute strip on Magnolia that, I think, can fit approximately 50 people. The food was pretty decent, but nothing to write home about. It fulfills the craving if you're in the neighborhood and the service was pretty nice. It wasn't a very memorable meal for me, but I don't think I'd mind going there again, if we're hanging out in the area and we're craving Thai. Maybe the next meal will be better. read more

Given that it's in Magnolia, the price is going to be high. The pad thai was $7.75 and in very small portions. My friend ordered the spicy beef noodle and spring roll. The portions were decent. Though I'm not sure what the prices were. All three dishes were decent. Really nothing special about it. Given the price and portions, I probably won't be coming back. read more

The staff is super friendly but the food is alright. We ordered pad thai but the noodles were too soft. If a place can't get pad thai right then it's a big problem. We also ordered the Classic Fried Rice and that was pretty tasty. read more

Was walking in the neighborhood and decided to walk up and order. Excellent pad thai and chicken satay. It was ready in 10 minutes and I appreciate the covid safety here. read more

Believe it or not, Kinnaree serves authentic Thai food. The flavors of the dishes is what you would get from a street vendor in Bangkok (which is a *good* thing). Dine-in service is friendly and take-out is prompt, even without phoning ahead. Contrary to an earlier review, I find it remarkably consistent. The one thing which keeps me from dining here more often is the price. Maybe it's a reflection of this part of the city (Magnolia), but menu items seem to cost 15-20% more than what could be had elsewhere. It's off-putting, but overall, a very good restaurant. read more
