Pros: Friendly front desk staff, cute sign Cons: The room and AC smelled moldy or mildew-y. Our room had a lot of stains and wasn't the cleanest. I paid MORE for this room than I did for a corner king room the following night at an upscale, 4 star hotel. Sadly I don't think I'd return!

First time staying in the downtown area and it was very nice. It's walking distance to a lot of restaurants so it's really convenient. It may seem to be a little dated but that's not the case at all; it has a lot of charm. This place evokes memories of road trips with my family in the 70s. The room is comfy enough for 1 and can accommodate 2 easily. The room has a square table with 2 chairs, queen size bed and an ottoman at the foot of the bed. It's got a mid-century feel, hardwood floors, tiled shower stall. There are modern features too--a microwave, fridge, a Keurig coffee maker. There's a throwback push button phone from the 70s in the room. The only downside was my particular room was a bit dark with little natural lighting. The late afternoon sun provided some brightness, but I would have to raise the window shade, lessening my privacy. They offer breakfast from 7-10 daily...a selection of hot buffet items (bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes), make your own waffle & a variety of bakery items. Definitely a good place to stay, conveniently located to nearby restaurants & a newly opened Asian Market is a block away. It's close enough to the UO campus--it's probably a 20 minute walk to the East Gate, but only minutes by car. I would recommend staying here.

Friendly staff, clean, cozy, walking distance to so much. The breakfast was excellent! We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

I love finding unique hotels, especially when they have a long history. The Timbers Inn in Eugene, has it all. Built in the 1950's in the classic Motor Inn style. It's located conveniently in the center of the city with abundant eateries and shopping near by. Stepping into the retro-cool-modern lobby with a bar set the atmosphere. Lillie at the front desk greeted us with a cheery welcome. The lobby as well as the rooms were recently renovated keeping its mid-century style while updating to current standards. Our room had a microwave and refrigerator and came breakfast in the morning. It is apparent a lot of though and pride went into this beloved Inn. Big thanks to the staff and owners.

    Office area.

Really clean, cozy, friendly and accommodating! Love the retro look and floral details front of motel and office. Breakfast was fresh and had something for everyone.

This motel has been around for ever! We had a nice clean pet friendly room, hardwood floor, fridge, microwave, all that. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the bath and shower worked great. I appreciated the price (less than $200/night) as well. They've definitely worked on getting the decor up to date, which makes the atmosphere nice and modern but you can tell it's old with some of the fixtures and older random furniture, and the walls are thin so we could hear our neighbors real easy. However, I don't really mind this at all and we only stayed one night. Kids had a great time jumping on the bed. A couple other reviews mentioned that the neighborhood was less desireable but I totally disagree. You're in the city center so there will be office buildings and some folks experiencing homelessness, but I took my dog for a walk late and felt perfectly safe. There's also a Whole Foods around the corner and definitely try out the palace bakery it's delicious!!

Queen room with lovely natural woods and modern bathroom with deluxe rain shower.

Check-in was smooth, and the staff member who greeted us was genuinely pleasant and cool, giving us some extra water and few green bags of goodies (returned the next day), promising to wave the parking fee. That's where the positives ended. After a long drive, we dropped our bags in da rooms and went out for a dinner without inspecting our rooms a bit closely. When we returned later that night and checked the beds with a UV light, we were shocked to find stains on both beds. It was darn disturbing (photos attached)! We went down to the front desk to report it. The night staff told us there was no one available to change the linens and no other rooms available to change at full occupancy. Instead, we were handed a set of sheets and sent back to deal with it ourselves. After 10 PM, exhausted, we had no real choice but to accept it. In the morning, we raised the issue again with the new front desk rep. The replacement sheets were not much better, and despite our complaint, the response was limited to verbal apologies only. We were still charged full price for the night, plus a $20 parking fee for overfilled parking lot that's essentially had open access from the street. This is not the level of cleanliness or service expected from a Hyatt. Do your due diligence and do not assume standards are being met. Check your room carefully before settling in. Breakfast on the other hand was great! Variety of eggs, milks and healthy choices beat other Hyatt locations we stated at the next day in Portland. Loved it, and that what basically got the stars.

Overall, good experience. Great location near a mall and Trader Joe's. Convenient (though not…read morefree) parking. Friendly staff. The breakfast was good and they had vegetarian sausage and bacon which I have never seen in a complimentary hotel breakfast! Only complaint is that when I didn't want my room cleaned, they put a weird note on my door and came in anyway. So we run up to our room and drop our stuff off quickly, we head back down and only 3 minute had passed, and the bar tender told us he didn't want to serve us because he was "trying to go home early". I went over to discuss that with the staff to which they were not helpful. We go back up to our room ready to call it a night, the AC didn't work, the remote didn't work, there was no water bottles in the fridge like they said there was. We go back down to the lobby at this point because if we are paying $250 for a room you would expect it to have all the working amenities that you would want right? We get back down there and by this point I'm upset because our wedding night was ruined by that experience so I sat there crying in a hotel lobby in my wedding dress which was such a terrible experience. They tried to make it right by "letting us get a drink on the side". To which the bar tender who previously told us "no" made, which felt extremely uncomfortable to us since we knew he didn't want to be "serving us". Also here are some good tips to know if you stay there in the future that they don't tell you: If you want breakfast you have to order it the night before, if something is broken in your hotel room they won't send anyone up to fix it. My husband and I would have had a better time at a Best Western, they at least are cheaper and you get better amenities and staff that is actually helpful and doesn't just awkwardly stare at you as you cry in your wedding dress. We would have had more fun at home we decided.

While the facilities were admittedly dated, the beautifully maintained grounds and charming atmosphere made it worthwhile. Unfortunately, last night's visit completely destroyed those positive recollections. We checked in around 11 PM and were sent to our assigned room -- a tiny, isolated space in the attic. It was unbearably hot and steamy, with no air conditioning or adequate ventilation, despite the rest of the building being cooled. The conditions were so shocking and unsafe that we turned around immediately, left without staying, and went to find another hotel. When we raised the issue, staff simply suggested using a fan. The only way to have endured the night would have been to sleep with the door wide open to the hallway, which was obviously not a safe or reasonable option. I will never return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to anyone. The lack of basic comfort and guest care is unacceptable.

If you complain to the desk about this the desk tells you to email Parking Management or call them. They "do not answer" their phone and they do not respond to emails. A lot of guests told me they park on the street instead, which is a little dicey given the number of homeless that prowl the streets at night. Unless you are staying just 1 or 2 nights it feels like a rip off to pay $15.50 per night to stay in a non resort hotel. This place has really gone down hill. I could say many other things but I won't because the staff is good, the breakfast is nice, and I like the fact that it is easy to take a nice walk from this location but be prepared because there are many drunken and crazy people walking the streets.
