Always love having the chance to stay here when I'm in town. The rooms are exceptionally clean, housekeeping does a fantastic job every time. Kate at the front desk checked me in and she remembered my name and I appreciated her hospitality and welcome. I don't always get to do the breakfast but this visit I was so happy to enjoy an incredible spread of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, English muffin, breakfast danish, you can make your own waffles, and there is oatmeal with almonds and cranberries and brown sugar. Orange juice and coffee are standard and they have a breakfast kombucha if you want something a little healthier and probiotic. They also have a happy hour with regional wine, bubbles, and local beer for really reasonable prices if you just need a refresher after getting back to the hotel. The location is unbeatable with just a couple of blocks to excellent places to eat downtown like The Davis, and the Eugene Public Library nearby. read more

A beautifully restored vintage motel - the kind where you park your car in front of the room - within walking distance of everywhere you'd want to go in downtown Eugene. The Saturday Market, Lion & Owl, VooDoo Donuts, Metro Cinema, Oregon Contemporary Theater, etc. I love that the room has hardwood flooring rather than some old tired carpeting. And that the ceiling - and some walls - have real wood paneling (not the kind in basements in the '70's). The breakfasts that are included and are generous - fresh fruit, bacon/sausage, eggs, fried potatoes, waffle bar, danishes, etc. The front desk is staffed 24/7. First time staying in the downtown area and it was very nice. It's walking distance to a lot of restaurants so it's really convenient. It may seem to be a little dated but that's not the case at all; it has a lot of charm. This place evokes memories of road trips with my family in the 70s. The room is comfy enough for 1 and can accommodate 2 easily. The room has a square table with 2 chairs, queen size bed and an ottoman at the foot of the bed. It's got a mid-century feel, hardwood floors, tiled shower stall. There are modern features too--a microwave, fridge, a Keurig coffee maker. There's a throwback push button phone from the 70s in the room. The only downside was my particular room was a bit dark with little natural lighting. The late afternoon sun provided some brightness, but I would have to raise the window shade, lessening my privacy. They offer breakfast from 7-10 daily...a selection of hot buffet items (bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes), make your own waffle & a variety of bakery items. Definitely a good place to stay, conveniently located to nearby restaurants & a newly opened Asian Market is a block away. It's close enough to the UO campus--it's probably a 20 minute walk to the East Gate, but only minutes by car. I would recommend staying here. read more

This was an amazing accident. Perfect location. Walking distance to the Duck store & dorms as well as downtown. The breakfast is made from scratch every morning! My one and only complaint (no fault of anyone's) but because the building is older, if you sleep on the first floor you hear the creeping wood floors when the guests upstairs walk around. Everything from registration to breakfast the next day was terrific. The room was very clean, two queen beds, refrigerator freezer and a microwave. Good size table with two chairs. The only thing I didn't like about the room was the slightly oversized bedframe that my husband kept stubbing his toe on. In fact, I was only going to give them four stars because of the bedframe until we went to breakfast the next morning. They serve a full breakfast. Coffee, tea and juice. Cereal, oatmeal, eggs, bacon and sausage, potatoes, yes, waffles, and pastries, fresh fruit. I was really surprised at how nice it was. They have a lovely lobby and a nice little patio with chairs and benches. There are flowers all around the property. This doesn't feel like a downtown motel, they have done a really nice job here. I love finding unique hotels, especially when they have a long history. The Timbers Inn in Eugene, has it all. Built in the 1950's in the classic Motor Inn style. It's located conveniently in the center of the city with abundant eateries and shopping near by. Stepping into the retro-cool-modern lobby with a bar set the atmosphere. Lillie at the front desk greeted us with a cheery welcome. The lobby as well as the rooms were recently renovated keeping its mid-century style while updating to current standards. Our room had a microwave and refrigerator and came breakfast in the morning. It is apparent a lot of though and pride went into this beloved Inn. Big thanks to the staff and owners. read more

This is the second time I've stayed here and a better experience than the first. This is a beautifully restored older motel, with nice wood trim and upscale tile in the bathroom. Beds were comfortable, everything was clean. The bathroom is small, the hair dryer under-powered, some lotion would have been nice, and the HVAC system was really loud. Staff were super nice, especially the woman there in the afternoon/evenings. Breakfast was good. read more

Our absolute favorite place to stay in Eugene. We've stayed 3 times now. We discovered this gem during the heatwave a couple years ago, our friends floor with no a/c was not going to cut it. The Timbers rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and have great showers. The hotel is landscaped beautifully, they have a cute lobby/bar and serve a great breakfast that is the perfect way to start another day in Oregon. This motel has been around for ever! We had a nice clean pet friendly room, hardwood floor, fridge, microwave, all that. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the bath and shower worked great. I appreciated the price (less than $200/night) as well. They've definitely worked on getting the decor up to date, which makes the atmosphere nice and modern but you can tell it's old with some of the fixtures and older random furniture, and the walls are thin so we could hear our neighbors real easy. However, I don't really mind this at all and we only stayed one night. Kids had a great time jumping on the bed. A couple other reviews mentioned that the neighborhood was less desireable but I totally disagree. You're in the city center so there will be office buildings and some folks experiencing homelessness, but I took my dog for a walk late and felt perfectly safe. There's also a Whole Foods around the corner and definitely try out the palace bakery it's delicious!! read more

This is an old motel that they've tried to update to look kind of cool/current. But even though some of the cosmetic upgrades are cute it still feels like you're sleeping in an old motel. The location was good for walking to some restaurants we liked. But the motel itself was a bargain place that felt it. Next time we'd pay a little more for someplace that felt a little nicer to sleep in. read more

Timbers motel next-door to an old greyhound station a couple blocks from some great downtown food breweries pizza coffee. The lobby is so cute you just want to sit down in one of those three chairs and relax. But eager to get to my room I was pleasantly surprised to find the room larger than expected. The wood ceiling is eclectic, and vintage. Even the door clip for maid service and the room key are straight from the 50's! I love it. Clean and quiet. I just love it! And I can bring my dog and walk her around down town. I'd love to come on a Saturday and walk to Eugene Saturday Market!. Oh... AC very COOL. And the blinds on the window give privacy and light. Ok! I took a tour of this place and really liked it. Was quoted a price within my budget. Made a reservation. When I arrived the price for one of the nights was $100 more than had been quoted. It seems because there was a "special event" going on the price was higher; however, I'd made my reservation so I could take advantage of the lower, weekday price and wasn't told the days I'd chosen would include one of those days. They claimed they were all trained to give the correct price when a reservation was made. Had they quoted the price they wanted to charge for the 2nd night I would have changed the reservation. The guy I'd talked to several times, who was very personable and friendly, was the one who wouldn't change the price to what I'd been told. Beware, not so nice! Fortunately, I was able to get into a nicer hotel/spa on the coast, so I was able to enjoy my 'break' anyway. It wasn't as convenient, though and I wasn't able to get there until the evening. Having thought about it, I think they did it so they could get the higher price from someone else. Lesson learned: always get it in writing! read more

2am driving to Vancouver. Was supposed to stay at crater lake in their campgrounds. It started to rain so we nixed that plan. We decided, let's just keep driving until we get tired. Well that happened really fast. But we kept passing little cities and no vacancies or it was a tad sketchy. That's my own thing though. I'm bad at traveling sometimes. Let just say it can get expensive. Well I looked up places in Eugene Oregon and this little place came up with a lot of reviews. I was surprised it being a motel how nice and cozy it was. Our stay at Timbers Inn was very good with one significant caveat. Pros: our two-queen-bed suite was roomy, comfortable, and the bathroom was great. Daily breakfast was generous and varied - eggs, bacon and sausage, hot and cold cereal, juice, coffee, waffles, fresh fruit. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great - easy walking distance to almost everything of interest to us. Mild complaint: it was hot while we were in Eugene and air circulation in the suite wasn't great, with one air conditioner in the living room, and one window each in the living room and bedroom. Biggest complaint: the Wifi was spotty and occasionally dropped entirely. These days, that's really not okay. read more

Cute motel within walking distance of the main drag and notable hotspots of Eugene. It's clearly been remodeled and they are proud of it. We stayed in a suite and really appreciated the separate living area. Comes with a fridge and a shower that's better than what we have at home. Dog's are allowed too, with a fee. The front desk person was super nice and had lots of stories about the place as well as Eugene in general. The breakfast was great and had real eggs! For the price point and amenities, I'd say this is a win for those looking for an affordable stay. read more

I just happen to find this retro motel looking for a stay that takes dogs. Firstly, Bryan was so friendly, welcoming, accommodating and made me feel right at home. The room was clean with a funky old style decor with all the amenities needed. The breakfast was an another surprise with warm and cold choices and was more than offered at other hotels.
