Although this looks like just another little motel, Henry and his family make you feel AT HOME during your stay. Rooms are clean, updated, warm, inviting, and the hosts bend over backwards to make sure your stay is pleasant! I've been to many "nicer" hotels, but honestly this is now my go-to for my visits to Eugene. Walking distance to Starbucks and Dutch Bros, lots of restaurants too. The downtown is a family-owned and family run operation. it is one of the one-story all doors lead outside motels kind of like a centralized parking lot with all the rooms the rooms were well maintained at least the one we stayed in was and we were happy the owner was quite quite nice friendly and told us a few stories about the town. it's a short walk to downtown and several things so I appreciated that and used it to my advantage and it's a reasonably priced easy to get to what can I say Enjoy read more

A great little old-school motor inn - in the middle of about everything that's downtown Eugene. Family owned and operated with easy friendly and professional check in, our reservations were waiting for us and it only took a couple minutes. Very well maintained grounds and facilities. Park literally at your front door, this small U shaped property has space for one vehicle per room at or close to your door with an overflow lot directly across the street. It's first come first serve and we had no issues either night parking even on a busy home game weekend. Nicely appointed modern rooms with everything you expect, a very comfortable king size bed, flat screen, mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave, small table and chairs. Very clean bathroom and a nice shower with lots of hot water. Reasonable to inexpensive for the area, easy walking distance to the Saturday market area, restaurants, retail shopping, bars, music, the college and more. We booked a hotel late because of a family members health and we didn't know if we would make it or not. With some sports event and graduations going on, we couldn't find one. We found this hotel and decided to give it a try. I couldn't have been more pleased with it. It is right on the busy street-but these walls are so insulated that you can not hear anything outside your room. I don't know about the 2 front rooms close to the street-but ours was closer to the back. It is in walking distance of many great little restaurants. Has a nice little breakfast in the mornings. Beds are very comfortable. It is privately owned and they help you out with whatever you need and owners are very friendly. The 2 cleaning ladies are great. It is clean and very well maintained. Was in Euguene alone this time dropping off my Duck at UofO, so I decided to save myself some money versus the usual hotels we've used. This one was just fine. Staff was friendly. Room was clean and appears to have been recently remodeled. The TV, microwave, and mini-fridge all worked. There's some noise from the street, but nothing too bad and I slept just fine. read more

This was a very comfortable hotel and room, it was around 80.00 a night (I can't remember exactly) and the hotel folks were lovely to work with. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the pillows and the towels were lacking in "fluff". I have to agree that in general, Eugene has only a few types of lodging options: motels (which are average), hotels (nice but very expensive and not so many) and b&bs (which are likely the best option). I feel like we overpaid for what we got, but I also feel like we got a quiet, clean location to crash - so I am just going to settle on a 3 star. If it offered new pillows, fluffy towels, and a little more of an upscale continental breakfast it might be a 4 star... read more

This is a nice little hotel that is centrally located. Our room was really big! Bigger than most normal hotel rooms. It was clean and well taken care of. All of the rooms are single story so you don't have to worry about stairs or elevators. From my understanding they serve a free breakfast in one of the hotel rooms. I didn't get a chance to try it out so I can't comment on how it is. Our room was very clean. The heater was a little loud but it kept our room warm. The parking is free and convenient. We had no trouble finding parking both nights. I would recommend this hotel! read more

This motel is PERFECT. The word "intelligent" kept coming to mind when I noted its features and quality. Without my asking, the very polite, sharp man at the desk had given me a room near the office with a nice triangular space for my nice new Harley-Davidson, so I felt very secure about parking. The room was perfectly clean, the carpet seemed new and super comfortable. The fixtures (sink, toilet, etc.) were very modern. And the rate was very fair. The wi-fi is good and solid but not super fast. They have a super-modern nightlight (see picture) on the desk next to the beautiful Vizio TV. I've been wanting a light like this in a hotel room for years--a way to make a small or large amount of light as required. read more

I also spoke with the cleaning person right before I left and she was also very friendly. The room was spacious and extremely clean and provided all of the amenities. Room was super clean, beds were plush & comfortable, bedding was crisp & clean with multiple pillow options. Clearly our room had been recently updated. Carpet, tile flooring, sink, faucet, toilet & tub all looked new. Outside was equally neat & tidy. Covered sidewalk in front of all the rooms was super clean with a fresh coat of paint. Location is top notch. Starbucks is literally right next door and there are tons of great food options on Broadway just a short walk away. I'll tell ya what: when it comes to quaint little spaces in Eugene, this one sure hits the mark. The rooms are clean, spacious, and totally comfortable. Cozy and close to everything the town has to offer, if you can book here you'll be in good company. They have A/C, Cable TV, small refrigerators, comfy beds, clean bathrooms, cool desk lamps, and huge mirrors. All of this combined makes for a pleasant stay. The staff is so laid back and nice, they don't mind letting you just do your thing. Great location as well. It's close to everything in Eugene. It might look like just a regular inn but it's probably one of the easiest, safest, most chill places to stay. I'm a huge fan of the Downtown Inn. Keep up the good work! read more

My husband and I came to Eugene for the first time to meet family and go to the Ducks game. This place is very clean and convenient! This is a small facility, that looks pretty plain from the outside. The gentleman that checked me in was very polite and helpful, even had me cancel my reservation and gave me a better price. The room really surprised me. Extremely clean and very well equipped, even had a lighted makeup mirror. The bathroom was spotless and updated recently it appears. The bed was very comfortable and the linens of high quality, as were the towels. The one and the only complaint I would give this place is that it lacked a coffee maker in the room. I woke two hours before the breakfast room opened and would have enjoyed a cup of coffee while I waited. I would stay there again. read more

When you hear the words "Downtown Motel" you can't help but think "seedy" but this place is so not the case. Yes, it's a motor lodge with exposed front doors and a parking lot right out your motel door but it has free wifi (always a wonderful bonus to me), a clean exterior and interior, amenities (cable TV, in-room microwave and fridge) and it's so cheap ($75 the night we stayed). PLUS we were able to check in at 10pm after having driven in from Seattle (over 4 hours away). They have 24-hour check-in! It's a quaint motel and I'd definitely come here again the next time I pass through Eugene. read more

It keeps getting better. They have been steadily been upgrading the rooms, including the showers, TV's and furniture. The WiFi is reliable. It's still clean and comfortable, and owner is conscientious. It's refreshing to find a good hotel for a reasonable price, and it's not a corporate chain. Here I am, staying at my regular Eugene motel. This trip was for business and I like to stay here as the family that owns it is lovely and really care that they provide a modest, clean getaway place. This trip, I am assigned a room on the wet side of the hotel instead of one on the courtyard. It has been less than pleasant this stay. The room is fine, bed, comfortable BUT the outside fluorescent light tube shines through the top of the curtain and the room stays fairly light. One can hear all the road noise and it is awkward getting into the west side parking lot. Overall, it is significantly less comfortable than the rooms in the courtyard. The advice from me is to ask for a room at the top of the courtyard, furthest from the road. The price remains fair and the rooms, tidy but you will enjoy your experience more the further you are from the road and the hideous outside lighting on the west side. read more

It's clean, well run and worth the $79; that's about all you need to know. I will, however, spend a moment with the details. The manager was very nice and accommodating, and switched our room instantly when my girlfriend and I were put in a non-smoking room where someone, or probably numerous people, had obviously been smoking. I wasn't grossed out by anything, which is always a plus. There were no surprises in the room waiting to crawl on me, and the bed was comfortable. Excellent service! Rooms are simple, very clean and the hotel is very close to downtown. Henry is very helpful and accommodating, we made a reservation for the whole week since we just moved to Eugene. We let Henry know we had a uhaul trailer attached to our vehicle, we had no problems unhitching and felt very safe. The staff at down town inn went above and beyond. We can't stay the whole week that we reserved since we found a home, Henry was so understanding and said he would refund the day we weren't staying. Best budget option downtown. For us it came down to: $60 for a room at the hostel, or $85 for a room at the D.I. The extra $25 got us two queen beds, off-street parking, flat-screen tv, microwave, mini-fridge, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, small breakfast bar. Spotlessly clean. And the trade-off for some traffic noise was incredibly convenient location! Easy on/off from the highway, short walks to the river trails, waterfront parks, the Saturday Market, Skinner Butte, and a network of bike lanes. Beer joints, restaurants, food trucks--again, an easy walk. I just don't see why you'd pay more to stay at another chain hotel/motel when the Downtown Inn so nicely fits the bill. read more

Look I am going to give The Downtown in 5 stars based on what you get for the price given this is the level of hotel you are choosing to stay at. I was coming into town for a four day conference which was walking distance from this hotel. I was at the conference for 8am-10pm so paying for a premium hotel seemed foolish since I would hardly be using it. I was very skeptical to stay at such a cheap hotel, but after reading a few reviews, and talking very frankly to the owner, Henry, decided to give it a chance. I was so pleasantly surprised. I would for sure stay here again and recommend it to anyone trying to stay on a budget. Henry and his wife Rita are very helpful, kind and accommodation. The room was very clean with recently remodeled bathrooms. It had a nice sized cold refrigerator, and new microwave. The flat screen TV had almost 100 high quality channels. Even the towels were cushy and pillows comfortable. There was some construction happening on the road outside so just bring some earplugs if your a sensitive sleeper. As a young female, I felt plenty safe in my room and decently safe walking back to my hotel late at night. There is also a Five Guy Burger joint and Starbucks right close buy and it was only about a 15 minute walk into the cute little close downtown area. I have stayed in many hotels much pricier than The Downtown Inn that charged extra for old microwaves and refrigerators and has less tv channels with rude staff. This motel was fine to stay at when we needed a spot during a bad snow storm. My mom had stayed here once before and I remember seeing her room and how large it was. Our room was a little smaller than the other one this time but still a normal hotel room size. The heater worked well but is really loud even when on low. I came during a snowstorm and the driveway was really hard to get into but normally it's easy to park. The people who own the motel are there 24/7 if you need anything during the night or a late check in. The rooms are clean and I saw them taking the bedspreads out of other rooms when they were cleaning them so I hope that means they wash them! Most hotels don't usually do this but I think they do here which is great! There isn't any coffee or breakfast in the morning but you are walking distance to downtown and there is a gas station across the street for any snacks or water. There are also places to grab food and you aren't far from the main highways. This is a non-smoking hotel that does not allow pets. We found a better deal on Hotwire than we did on their website - just a tip! read more
