Took an hour to get a room service menu because my phone was lost and they couldn't figure out how to print one... despite business center. I am disabled do to back surgery.......no accommodations. Accused of smoking ......ummmmm what? Obviously, invited them in..... no smoke .... So, they just left. They have cameras everywhere and mistook me, I guess because I have white hair... Had a lovely stay here at the start of our anniversary road trip. The staff are all very friendly and thoughtful, from a lovely handwritten note and snack basket delivered to our room to the valet making sure we had cold waters on checkout... I haven't experienced this level of customer service ever, even at the high-end luxury hotels. Bed was comfortable, the butler's pantry is brilliant, and the tub had jets. The couch in the tub room gave us a giggle, but I could totally see curling up there after a soak to continue reading while the spouse is watching tv. read more

My husband and I spent a night at the inn on our drive back from Seattle to CA. We had been up since 4am and when we arrived to check in, we were warmly and enthusiastically greeted by Hope at the front desk. She gave us great recommendations for local restaurants/bars as well as shops we could visit that were within walking distance. We were also told about the complimentary snacks/drinks as well which were a nice touch. The lobby was very nicely decorated and welcoming. We booked a premium king room which included a fireplace. As the weather was particularly chilly during our visit, the fireplace was so nice to have; I just wished we could allow it to run all night rather auto shut off after 120 min. We valeted our car and the attendants were super friendly and thoughtful. We made our journey back to CA at 5 in the morning and the attendant made sure to warm up the car for us beforehand. :) We are looking forward to heading back to Eugene to be able to spend more time exploring. The people here are all so friendly and the boutique shops had unique offerings I couldn't purchase at home. read more

I regularly visit relatives in Eugene and gave this place a try. The hotel is average in quality, central location. I absolutely will never stay here again because they have the gall to charge $25 for parking (valet only). Hotel parking should be free, this is standard everywhere. There is no other option, unless you want to park on the downtown streets which begin to be enforced at 6am. The nerve of this makes me so angry that I will be waking up at 6 just to get out of here. Conveniently located, the room I had was comfortable, the cabinetry reasonably well made, the hardware and fixtures good quality, and everything is relatively new so it all still works. However, it is very expensive for what you get. For about $275 I got a single-occupancy room with a view of a parking lot for one night during off season, and that's all - no breakfast, no perks. The only parking they offer is valet parking for yet another $25 per night which I found inconvenient but the only other option would have been to park on a street far away. The only room service they offer is catered by a nearby restaurant. Marche is a good but expensive restaurant and they do not serve breakfast. It was not a horrible experience but it did not live up to expectations. read more

We just stayed at Inn at the 5th and absolutely loved it. Eugene is such a pretty and friendly place, and there are many great shops and restaurants next door to the hotel. The hotel is immaculate and beautiful, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. At first, we had a very heavy-footed neighbor upstairs, but the manager quickly and graciously moved us to a quiet room, which made all the difference. A bit late with posting... the best thing this place has going for them was the friendly desk staff. We had high hopes on this scheduled trip to visit my daughter. Decided to try something new and stay at the In. at the 5th...big mistake. The room was filthy! This trip during Covid times when places boast cleanliness this was certainly not the case here. Too bad as the location is perfect and I wish I could make this our go to place for our quarterly visits to Oregon but NOPE! Also they talk about a lovely snack section available throughout your stay and it's just low end candy and soda. How about some fruit, nuts etc. The coolest part was the touch-less room service delivery, it's a separate small door where items can be left available for you to grab from in your room. I really wish the experience was better as I'm so sorry to be writing this! read more

This is supposed to be an upscale hotel? You would think so, from the prices they charge. I could not believe how dirty it was. The carpets were stained, as was the window seat cushion. The walls were scuffed and there was dirt in all areas of the bathroom. I was actually shocked. The wood cabinets were dry and looked so cheap. I would not have even expected that from hotels/motels charging half as much. We were there for a week and at one point I saw a small leaf on the floor under the desk and was going to pick it up but then thought, oh, let me see if they vacuum there. Sure enough, when we got back to the room, the leaf was still there. Yikes. They give out plenty of free snacks but that would not prompt me to go back. Beautiful hotel with a fabulous location. The rooms and bathrooms were great, excellent linens, and particularly enjoyed the fireplace and balcony. Housekeepings attention to detail was nice when they cleared the plate and knife we used for charcuterie they brought a new one. Do be warned however that the internet is terrible! They might as well have dial up! Took 3 minutes to load a docusign I had to get out. And they have totally removed the ability to smart stream from your computer to the Tv and have no streaming Apps at all on the TV so unless you like basic cable the nice big TVs are pretty much decorative. That was a big disappointment as we specifically booked the room with a fireplace for a mother daughter movie night. Felt archaic in this day and age that we gathered around a laptop and at that the buffering meant the movie was impossible to watch with the Internet speed. I had the most lovely stay at Inn at the 5th! I was in town for a wedding and this hotel was recommended to me. I'm so happy I went with this hotel! It has a quaint, yet upscale vibe and is in the center of the coolest market! There are tons of dining options in walking distance. They offer you a complimentary glass of wine upon arrival and snacks/bottled drinks are complimentary your entire stay. There is a spa on the first floor and a fitness center. The beds were super comfy and I loved the fireplace in my room. All the employees were extremely helpful and friendly. Cute shops in the plaza. * The hotel room was very clean and looked new. Fireplace and balcony added to the experience. Felt luxurious compared to your average hotel room. * The bed was incredibly comfortable--didn't want to leave! * Complimentary drinks and snacks in the lobby. * Dog friendly Not ideal, but it is what it is: * Train runs through the town, it's noticeable, I think I heard one come through around 9PM and 11PM. *Valet parking is the only option ($20 a night) is uncovered parking, did appreciate that they scraped the windshields from ice. * Seen complaints about service, mine was hit or miss. First visit, they were swamped with a large wedding party and I encountered frazzled/inexperienced valet and front desk people. I have stayed at this hotel many times through the years. They act like a five star, but it's just not the reality. Not that the staff are rude because they aren't...they are polite, professional. They just can't help. There have been few upgrades through the years in fact their homey touches have disappeared. They used to decorate w Pendleton blankets and I loved that homey touch, but that's no more. We stayed two nights yet due to the bed, I didn't sleep well. I asked about the bed, topper, egg crate...nope. The beds are like sleeping on the sidewalk. If you like extra firm, you are in for a treat. If you don't have a balcony room, you freeze during the day and roast at night ( no fans). You can't open the windows. I wouldn't even mind the train whistles throughout the night if I could get fresh air. I do love that they are near / attached to the fifth street market and we had all our meals in the fantastic options located in the market. . I also love that Marche will deliver your dinner to you and leave it in a privacy closet. However, breakfast wasn't offered any longer which was my personal favorite. I can't give it 5 stars and it makes me sad because I love the location and the idea of it. read more

This is a nice, modern hotel in a good location near the university in a small boutique mall with several nice restaurants and shops nearby. The rooms are exactly as pictured on the website. The front desk staff was very nice and knowledgeable. I liked that they text you a welcome message and you can text them questions like, "where should we go eat dinner?" (The restaurant next door was great!) The room was very clean and we appreciated that they were taking COVID precautions. The bed was very comfortable and well designed with reading lights and outlets where you want them to charge your devices. The AC worked great and we enjoyed the fireplace. The bed is on a diagonal slant which is cool but, the TV doesn't articulate at the same angle - it's stuck over the fireplace which isn't ideal. The bathroom is modern with a tile floor and sliding glass and wood door. Note that the shower has a frosted glass window in it open to the bedroom - noisy and not a lot of privacy if you wanted it. My only complaints are: there was weirdly NO fan in the bathroom, there is a train track nearby, the view wasn't nice and they charge you $18 to park in their parking lot. read more

My most favorite property in Eugene! It's charming, has some lovely elements that I'll list out below and the location can't be beat. I've traveled and stayed here in multiple situations, including alone, with gal pals and with my family. - The check in process is warm and helpful. Snacks and drinks are offered upon check in. - Rooms vary, but if you can get one with a fireplace I suggest it. So cozy! - Showers and bathrooms are large and well decorated. Their bath linens are quality. - Most rooms come with a sort of butler's box - which is a small door that room service and other requested items are placed in from the outside. You then open a second door from inside your room and retrieve the items. I was disappointed at my last trip that they were no longer doing room service of any kind and I hope that comes back soon. Getting coffee and something to eat in the early Am delivered through this method was one of my favorite things about the property. - Some rooms have a window seat or small balcony. Both are charming. - Valet parking only, but the valet is super kind and helpful! - Location, location! This is walkable to so many fun shops and dining options. Whenever possible, this is my home away from home when it town and although my work forces me to book through a third party platform, I always book direct when I can and am traveling for personal reasons. read more

This is a nice hotel in a great location. The king spa suite was super relaxing. But the hotel lacks common sense in some areas. 1. No room service. What? 2. The shower doesn't have a door. Weird. 3. The sliding door bathroom offers little privacy (sounds) and too much light escapes at night 4. The kids working the front desk and valet are not very knowledgeable. Because...well they are kids. 5. A bit noisy. Could hear someone running around above us and noisy hallway. You can definitely hear the nearby train passing. 6. Robes are not soft. 7. Towels scratchy 8. Shower head not adjustable and no shower wand 9. No microwave which is an abomination when you don't offer room service 10. Frosted glass panel instead of a wall separating the bathroom is nothing short of stupid. My stay at the Inn of the 5th was absolutely delightful! From the valet immediately coming to the car to grab our bags and then as we walked into the lobby we were greeted right away and offered a cold beverage. The lobby was beautiful and festively decorated. It had a very warm and inviting ambiance. The room itself was big and spacious. We had a window overlooking the street and had a cute view. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom spacious and shower luxurious and relaxing. We called concierge a few times for a few items we forgot and loved the little side door where the items were deposited. Another amazing extra were the fridges with drinks and so many snacks available. That was great for my late night hunger. We booked through Expedia, where it showed the king suite having a fireplace. We decided to go here for our tenth anniversary instead of a big chain. We walked in and...very small, no fireplace. We went to dinner and came back, we asked if we had the correct room, and after the manager saying "well, some have fireplaces and some don't, that's why you don't book though a 3rd party" and I explained why we wanted to stay here, the manager accommodated us saying next time to book through THEM, and gave us the room next door that was much more larger and had a fireplace. We noticed the balcony door wouldn't shut all the way, which we didnt want to say anything because of what the manager said, so we cranked the fireplace and tried to sleep...however, we didn't sleep because of all the loud neighbors partying and smoking on their balconys, and the numerous trains going by. We tried shutting the door, but it wouldn't latch. Also, no room service because of covid, you have to postemate/doordash. Go to provisions for a sandwich to save money. They offer water and soda for free, and chips...but they were expired. If you are wanting to stay here...PLEASE CALL THEM AND MAKE A RESERVATION. NOT ONLINE, NOT THROUGH A 3RD PARTY. read more

Originally we came into town last night to stay at a different hotel, but it was so dirty we left, and fled to our golden goose, the inn at the 5th. They accommodated us in a moments notice and we had our spa suite within the hour. Super dope jetted tub, decor, and the bed was comfy. I went back and forth deciding to write this review. We LOVE giving hotels a solid 5 star review and we travel often. If you had asked me upon check in to review this hotel it would have been a zero! I booked this hotel weeks before our travel date. I specifically booked the largest suite that included multiple balconies as this was important for our family and one of our children to have fresh air. I paid nearly $1300 for two nights to have this room. Upon arrival the host at the front desk was not super friendly, we looked past this and after a ALL day drive were just ready to get to our room and out for some dinner. We were shocked when we got to our room. it was at the end of a few long hallways and had NO balconies, in fact we looked directly into someones dirty apartment windows.... literally feet away while they looked into ours. We had to close the curtains completely. When I made the call I was given the manager Rick or Rich.. He was without a doubt the WORST I had ever talked to! Rather that fix the situation he told me the room I booked was filled with someone else and that he had my car pulled up and ready for me!!! We were shocked to say the least! He told us the hotel was full and that this could not be remedied with a lessor room with outdoor access.. The hotel WAS NOT full it was very empty. We were forced to stay as the kids were exhausted and we had an early morning wedding to attend. We do a lot of travel and always select 4-5 star hotels.. Never ave we ever been treated the way were were by this manager. It was a complete disappointment and an expensive stay for having no light with curtains closed the entire time. This being said I give credit to the hosts who came after the original one who checked us in they were so polite. The snacks and drinks for the kids were helpful. The housekeeping was outstanding and sweet! The valet guys were very nice too! Use caution when booking this hotel and be VERY specific! Maybe even call to follow up ... for sure request a balcony so you don't have to look into someones apartment and whatever you do don't ask to speak to management! read more

Yin and Yang here. The Inn at the 5th has a lot of cool things going for it. It also has a few drawbacks. In balance, it is worth a visit if this is the price range you're shopping in for a Eugene hotel. (Rack rates roughly $190 for a standard King to $370 for a Jr. Suite.) But for us, this property falls a bit short in delivering the understated, casual elegance of design, accomodations and service of others in the boutique class, as in The Allison in Newberg. That said, rooms are nicely appointed even if some are odd in layout and decor. Standard appointments include things like good quality linens, fireplaces (in some but not all rooms), HDTV service and Keurig coffee makers in room. (A big "woohoo" for the latter.) Were the reason for our stay in Eugene and the room rates here to align in the future, we'd go back. But it isn't our first choice right now for Eugene area lodging. The reasons why follow: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION It is hard to imagine a more convenient location in Eugene. You can walk to Marche next door, explore the shops of the adjacent 5th Street Market and have easy driving distance access to campus, restaurants or other shopping. The Inn's location also presents some drawbacks. As example, an Amtrak train runs right behind it. Rooms have been sound proofed, but this train is close enough to know it's there. We think that is a charming thing. Some may not find it so when the train runs by in early a.m. hours. You can mitigate the noise by the right room location, so ask about this when you make your reservation. BOUTIQUE SIZE The Inn is about a perfect size. Small enough to be a boutique hotel, with the personalized service possible in that genre, but large enough for amenities like room service, car service (see THIS N THAT) and a spa in the building. SERVICE If friendly service matters to you, the young staff here gets that right most of the time. Attitudes are great, seems snafus are largely process and systems based. The Inn is "newish" and those kinks should get ironed out with time and management attention. ROOMS Rooms are are smallish in size for this price point. Most (but not all) have small outdoor balconies. If you're looking for a larger room, you may want to consider the few that do not have balconies as they have some additional interior space and window seats. But the windows in the non-balcony rooms are non operable which we consider a major drawback to trade off for space. Outside of the Jr. Suite, which was very spacious, even the window seat rooms were not overly large. Rooms that face inward, around a small courtyard, may offer more insulation from street - and train - noise. The latter doesn't bother us and we prefer the outward orientation. On some summer evenings there is live music planned for the courtyard and so you'll be in the mix of that if you choose a room with that outlook. Some rooms are "theme" based. As in one that has an umbrella and Lucite rain drops and Wellie rain boots mounted in a cubby behind the king sized bed. In another the theme is African Safari. In another Mid Century "glam" and so on. If that matters to you, be sure to ask about it when making your reservation. We consider these cutesy thems a drawback in decor for a wannabe luxury hotel. Something we liked about the bathrooms is that they were shower only and shower was spacious. Not to mention rooms and public spaces are sparkling. One whole star just for that! PETS POLICY We consider it a drawback that pets are allowed in all rooms. When we said we wanted a room that was not on the "pets allowed" list we were told all rooms are pet friendly. We love dogs and cats. But we prefer hotel rooms where they have not been occupants. For us, a whole star deduction for this policy. ROOM SERVICE Room service is provided by Marche. There is a small butler's cupboard associated with each room, so if you don't want to open the door in whatever attire you may be in (or not in) your order is placed in the cupboard for you to retrieve. THIS N THAT: 1) ACCESSIBILITY: The 5th Street Market is universally accessible and so seems this Inn. See Heather C's review for her good experience with an accessible room here. 2) CAR SERVICE: A town car and a larger passenger van (both Mercedes) available for free transport within a 4 mile radius of the hotel. Not certain whether car service van option is wheelchair accessible. It should be by Federal ADA rules. It doesn't mean it is. Call to inquire. 3) OREGON ARTISTS: Art of all kinds created by Oregon artists adorns the Inn. As example, in the lobby a glass art fixture on the ceiling by a Sisters (Oregon) artist that is evocative of both the sun and Chihuly's work. I didn't think I would like this place because I am not a fan of boutique hotels. However, it was a great stay. The valet was good, check in was nice. They offer you a beverage when you check in. The Marche restaurant was pretty awesome. The only two things I didn't like were 1) the shower door is only like a half door that doesn't go the whole way so it gets pretty cold in there and 2) you can hear people walking above you. It was not a huge issue for us because they went to sleep at a reasonable time, but if they had not, that could have become a major issue. So I would suggest try to get a room on the top floor. read more

I always stop at this place when I am either heading back home to California or back to college in Seattle. Services: The room service here is great and so is the food. They are very accommodating when it comes to special food needs or if I want something different that isn't on the menu. Room service ends at 10:00 but I wish it ended at 11:00 in case one had a late night snack mood. Breakfast starts at 6:30 until 11:00 am. Concierge and guest services: The whole staff are welcoming and friendly. I've come here so much that they know me by name AND they even know my dogs! This hotel is totally pet friendly. They leave treats in your room for your dog. Plus they even leave a card to welcome your dogs which is a total plus! They have dogs beds and doc bowls if needed which is great. If you need extra towels or anything they are quick to make sure that they exceed your expectations. I love this place so much because I can ask for extra towels and shampoo and it will be at my door within seconds. How great is that? Quick service and fantastic staff members! The room: The place is clean and smells so fresh. Everything is so clean that I barely ever see any dust. There's even a fireplace that turns on just by a button so if you are cold you can totally get warmed up by the fire. Maybe even cuddle by the fire! May not seem like there are not enough lights in the room, but the room gets bright enough despite the amount of lights in the room. read more

I have stayed at the Inn at the 5th several times and have usually not had any problems. We stayed for one night and it soon became clear that the air conditioning was not working. I reported the issue and was told that the hotel A/C had not been turned on yet and "sorry about that" The window in our room did not open at all so the front desk manager offered to check it out while we were out that evening. We returned home late and with the room still warm, we were offered a chance to move room As it was past 1am, we declined thinking it would bearable with a cool night and as the hotel had no air con, what was the point swapping one warm room for another?. It wasn't and we paid the price with an uncomfortable sleep. The following morning the same manager informed me it was only a problem with our room and you have my apologies. No compensation was offered. I like this property and location, but found this aspect of their service strangely at odds with the property's premium aspirations. Very disappointing. read more

No thanks won't be staying here again. It was my first stay at Inn at the 5th and what a disappointment. We had a room with a fireplace and a king size bed. Our room was a south facing room and the sun was very strong through our window. It heated up the room over 80 degrees very quickly. The windows do not open. We tried to turn on the air con to get some air circulating and it was completely dead. Nothing. We spoke to the manager he said he would go to our room and reset the thermostat as the air conditioning hasn't been turned on in the building. Last night after arriving back to the hotel from a late night meeting we entered our room and the heat there was stifling. It had not been fixed. We called the front desk and they said we can move you to another room. We know it's not working. At that point we said no it was way too late to pack everything up and move. We didn't sleep a wink as it was so unbelievably uncomfortable. When speaking with the manager the next morning he apologize and said only our room had broken air con, even though he had previously said it was the entire hotel. He never offered any compensation for their mistake, even though he readily admitted that the air conditioning was broken and not up to standards. There are other options such as the Gordon Hotel which our associates said was lovely. We will be using the Gordon for future trips for business and pleasure. read more

This place is to be AVOIDED AT ALL COST! I'm incredibly disappointed with this place. I highly do not recommend! We booked because we had to be in town for a funeral.. it just happened to fall on our anniversary-- so we decided to try and salvage our weekend with a nice hotel. This hotel isn't cheap. After taxes we paid $330.. Last minute my husband was called in to work and we are no longer able to make it to our reservation. I called them to see if there was anything we could do about our reservation. They told me I could transfer the reservation into someone else's name but we would still be charged. Basically we have to pay the 330 to not use it or pay the 330 and someone else uses it. Well we tried to offer the room to friends... both the people we offered the room to also aren't able to make it.. (yes we offered to still pay for the room but at least the reservation would be used) we tried to see if we could transfer the reservation to another date... mind you I tried to cancel 30 hours before we were supposed to check in... I know it's not 48 but this was a last minute change that is out of our control. We tried everything we can to work this out. The issue is that I would expect better service for a place that charges $330 for one night. I don't understand why they couldn't at least transfer it to another date. I had a strange experience with a cancellation attempt here. I booked a somewhat last minute (4 days prior) 1 night stay through Expedia for a stop on our trip between Seattle and SF, and had a change of plans 24 hours prior to check in. I was no longer eligible for cancellation but made the request through Expedia to see if they would make an exception given how recently I had booked it, and given it was 24 hours notice. The Expedia rep couldn't immediately get an answer from the hotel on if they would honor (the manager on duty was not authorized to make this decision), and told me I would have to wait until 2 days later (after my stay) until another manager was in to decide. I reached out to the hotel directly through the Expedia app and didn't receive a response, despite a notification that they had read my message. Two days later I was charged for a night's stay, and received a note from Expedia that the cancellation request would not be honored, and a cryptic message from the hotel, that looked like it was meant for Expedia, that this matter had been resolved directly with me, despite not receiving any communication from them. It was all quite strange and could have been handled better. Ultimately it would have been nice if they had given me an answer before my scheduled stay, and if they had been a bit more understanding given it was last minute reservation and only charge for half a night. read more

The service here is really stellar, warm, genuine and very accommodating. The room was on point - everything as expected. The Spa Suite was just lovely, offering a separate spacious spa like lounge space with double whirlpool tub that closes off from the room. Complete with bath salts and several battery operated candles surrounding the tub. Nice touch! The location is key. Hand your keys to the valet and forget about it. Everything most would want is right there in the Fifth Street Public Market or easy walking distance. And a great yoga studio (Mudra Yoga) is just across the street. I'm a local and this was a really refreshing stay-cation to welcome a friend into town. I can not recommend this hotel and location more highly. Sushi Pure has excellent Japanese food and Marche is great for an interesting cocktail, lovely French breakfast or appetizer, indoors or out. Provisions Market Hall has the most knowledgeable staff who offered us wine, cheese and meat tasting as we selected some tasty bites and bubbly to take back to the room. Our do-it-yourself dinner in the room was first class and really memorable thanks to the assistance of Provisions. The next morning we wandered back over for coffee and while browsing around asked about their bitters selection. We then received a thorough education on the topic. Impressive! Between the hotel service, attention to detail and the location - this experience can not be beat here in Eugene. A truly special combination. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to have it all within walking distance and values good service, food and warm and caring people. read more

Everything was wonderful! I guess my only suggestion to make this 5 stars is to include a quick breakfast so we could get onto the road faster. The breakfast was available at the nearby Marche but it was tableside service and more than we usually eat. Something smaller and faster would be an improvement. Service and accomodations were excellent, though I was at first disappointed that parking is by valet only. The gas fireplace in the room was a nice touch. read more
