The good thing is the location. Close to downtown and U of O. Our room was quiet and let us have our 16 yr old dog. Bad thing. The clerk was not very friendly. We asked for early check-in on line. We got there. I handed him my ID. He seen I was from Eugene. No early check-in and charged me 250.00 deposit that I won't see for 10 days. Cuz I was local. The breakfast was all cold. Even the hot water. The eggs was gross. The pool & hot tub was closed. I had left my jacket in the room after I checked out. The clerk wouldn't let me go get it. He had to do it. There was a guy standing there hoping to use the phone. He locked his keys and phone in the car. The clerk, wouldn't let him use it to call AAA. read more

We had a pretty enjoyable stay recently at La Quinta. The front desk staff was friendly, they have a 24 hour pool and sauna, and the rooms were nice and comfortable. There is also a continental breakfast offered in the morning. My only complaint is that they should have full black out curtains and designated pet friendly rooms. This place is located at the edge of a beautiful park. Every time you walk in they offer you warm, fresh cookie. It's clean and welcoming. The, nice warm pool and hot tub are open. 24 hours as well as the gym. The views from my window were gorgeous green trees. There was a concert happening at The nearby amphitheater, and I sat by my window, listening to the concert. The breakfast was delicious. Everything I would want out of breakfast, including a waffle maker. The bed was super comfy. And the rate was reasonable. I want to stay here. Every time I come to Eugene. read more

We were charged $401 for a room so foul-smelling it made us gag and forced us to sleep in our car instead. Our room had an overwhelming odor that smelled like a dead animal or severe decay. It was impossible to stay in the room. We also felt unsafe using the elevator due to its condition. We immediately asked to be moved to another room and were refused. When we explained we could not stay under these conditions, staff and management showed no concern. We were forced to sleep in our car that night. Despite contacting the hotel multiple times over the next two months, we never received a refund or any response from management. This situation was handled poorly from start to finish. Never again. The hotel doesn't have a website to buy a reservation from. I signed up in the hotel lobby for a room. There was a line and only 1 person working so I figured I would sign in on internet. Did not know the hotel doesn't have a website! There are internet companies based in India pretending to be the hotel website. Massive fraud. Difficult to distinguish online sites because they use the same logo an photos from the hotel. Turns out the reservation was charged to the Salem OR location and not Eugene OR. Positive I filled out the form correctly and there is a locate feature in the website which is triangulates you to the correct address. Turns out this is a trick. had to call in after error was discovered by hotel clerk when checking in. The operator on phone is in India and says they will cancel the incorrect reservation and book the correct one. They lie and book multiple reservations. I ended up with 3 reservations, 2 for a location in Salem Or and one for the one in Eugene OR. They are all nonrefundable. Avoid at risk of fraud. read more

The room was ok but we were traveling with a service dog and were hassled about our small, well-mannered, clean dog. My husband brought her into the pool area where I was soaking in the hot tub, on a leash. There were no signs upon entry or anywhere near the pool entry or hot tub about dogs not being allowed. Yet a maintenance man came in and in very hostile tones told me to get out. I asked him to please get my husband, who had just gone next door to get some breakfast. He told me to get out immediately, which I was unable to do without my husband's presence. The maintenance man went and got the person on duty at the front desk , and he also told me to get out of the tub immediately. The whole thing stunned me to the point of tears. The front desk attendant did locate my husband, who came and helped me out and took the dog. This hotel is neither "pet friendly" as they advertise or human friendly. The next incident occurred when I went to have breakfast and a man that I had seen near the front desk the night before was initially staring, then followed me as I got up in the small breakfast room and moved around. I am not sure if he was an employee, but he greeted us when we came into check in the night before, and notified the front desk clerk. Between the two encounters I did not feel safe at this hotel because of the hostility from the one employee and the strange behavior by the other. The park view rooms look out over a parking lot that is adjacent to a park and a river. If staying, I would try to get a room that is away from the parking lot and just the park, if there are any. read more

A decidedly ok-ish experience. The price here is usually pretty good, lower than the nearby hotels, but the beds are a bit old/soft/saggy and the service is really hit or miss, depending on who's at the front desk. The direct sound insulation between rooms is pretty good, but the sound insulation between rooms and the hallway is very poor, so you won't hear normal sounds between rooms, but the sound insulation between the hallway and rooms is poor, so you'll get a heft dose of very loud sounds, like barking dogs. Since this is a pet friendly location, that's a real possibility -- I was treated to all-night dog barking once when I stayed here. If you want something priced a bit higher than a cheap motel that's sometimes a lot better than a cheap motel and sometimes not much better, this is a good choice. If you want a consistently good experience, you should look elsewhere. read more

I stayed here for a week with my dog while I was working in the area. Housekeeping never changed my sheets, even though I left the card on my bed on multiple occasions. I mentioned this to the girl at the front desk at check out and she told me that she wasn't surprised because they rarely do change the sheets anyway. How appalling! Everytime I went to use the pool, it was closed. The grout and caulking in the shower was black with mold and filth, it took a call to the front desk expressing my utter disgust to get housekeeping to somewhat clean it. The toilet paper holder and makeup mirror were broken and there were obvious food/feces smears on the walls. Now, the main reason I am not giving this one star is because there was always parking available and they allow pets and Wyndham offers free doordash deliveries using code "WRD." Now mind you, not everyone holds the same standards as I do, but the staff at La Quinta need to do a much better job ensuring patrons pick up their dogs feces as the designated doggie urination station had many piles of old feces. On top of everything else, I forgot my phone charger and cable and the girl who found it told me there's some policy about how they can't send it to me, even though I said I would pay for it. Great. We've stayed at this LaQuinta Eugene several times over the past decade, at least a half dozen times. Its location (not far off I-5) and having a very nice public park a short walking distance for pet owners makes this one of our favorites when traveling through the Pac NW. Stayed here from a Friday to Sunday. Staff was friendly and hotel was in good condition and clean in the lobby. I liked how they had a full breakfast and their hot tub and pool were working and are open 24 hours a day, which is fantastic. Rooms were clean, however in the top of our coat closet, I found an old potato chip, so I don't know how often they clean up there. Room had a mini fridge and a microwave. We had issues with our remote for our TV as well, but unplugging it helped to reset it. At the time, housekeeping would only come by your room every 4 days. Checking in and out was easy. The only issue we ran into was we brought our 12 lb dog with us. We did have to sign a pet agreement, and I will admit, I did not read it all the way through because I was chatting with the front desk employee and was not 100% paying attention. All I read was that there was a fee in case damage was done to the room, which I understand. We left for the day to do what we came to Eugene to do and when we came back in the early afternoon to check on our dog, I was shocked to hear that according to the FD, "our neighbor called several times about a barking dog". He said they were going to call me but "couldn't find my number", which I find hard to believe b/c I used it to book the room and I am almost positive I wrote it on the pet agreement I signed. According to this hotel, "pet friendly' means your dog can sleep there. According to their rules, if you leave the building, even to go to your car for a second, you HAVE to bring your dog. They can not be left unattended in your room. FD told me that b/c they could' t not get a hold of me, their next step was to CALL ANIMAL CONTROL, which I feel like is a little extreme. I am unsure if this is a standard rule about not allowing pets to be unattended, but we have stayed other places where this rule was not in place, so this is why we were thrown off. All that said, this place is a good place to stay. It is close to the University and the highway and within walking distance to Mcmenamins Old Bank, which had great food and beer. However depending on your plans, if you bring your dog, you might want to stay elsewhere if can't leave the dog in the room. read more

The rooms are fine. The breakfast is fine. Location is good - half mile walk to downtown and next to the park. The biggest problem is parking. They don't have enough parking spots so made spaces really narrow. People have trouble fitting in the spots and are asked to repark until approved by the front desk attendant. Don't touch the line. Our stay was during an ice storm while we had no power in our home and trees were falling through our roof. We asked for two nights and were told that we had been registered for two nights. While away from the room the following day we got a call asking where we were and why we had not checked out. When I explained that we were booked for two nights, I was told that was not true and that housekeeping was packing our stuff that we could retrieve upon our arrival. Don't stay here. This is a great hotel for those of you who have a dog. While searching for a reasonable hotel with a small pet deposit fee, we discovered La Quinta. I was surprised that they did not charge a fee at all and was happy that they had king-sized bedrooms for under $100. When we checked in, the receptionist gave us a treat for our little pup and collected our breakfast request menus. It was nice to see how organized things were and our room was huge! I had booked a room on the 1st floor to make sure it would be easy to take our pup out, but in the morning it was very loud from guests passing through the hallway to the breakfast room. Aside from the thin walls, the bed was comfy and we loved how spacious and clean the room was. I would definitely book a La Quinta room again. read more

The nicest out of three La Quinta Inns I've checked into during a week long road trip. They really keep up with this place. From the carpet, tiles, furniture, bed, to wall paint. Everything is maintained and not neglected. I must say I was impressed for the price. The room we chose included a Cal King bed, Jacuzzi tub, shower, large screen TV. We hung out at the pool and hot tub for a while w/ other families and that was pretty nice too. The free breakfast was grim. They should maybe just skip the eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy part and keep it continental because I'd rather have no food offered to me than really bad food. Well happy veteran's day to me. I was super excited to finally get a weekend away with my family. I booked a suite to accommodate my wife, my two kids, and myself. I first arrive to our hotel to find out that the pullout sofa was broken and couldn't be used. They didn't even mention that to us while checking in. Of course, all the rooms that will fit us all are sold out. They eventually gave us a rollout bed. We then asked for pillows all to be told that they didn't have any. Wow. I simply don't have the words to articulate how crummy this hotel has been. Side note: the gal at the front desk was extremely sweet but the hotel itself has majorly dropped the ball. read more

I had an amazingly terrible call that was something out of Waiting for Godot--all my questions needed an answer from a manger when I asked to talk to the manager I was told that was up to the manager. Needs maintenance. It's dark and outdated. The bed was comfy and the sheets were clean. Bathroom floor was sticky and carpets are just disgusting. We arrived very late and just slept there one night. The breakfast you pick up from the front desk. The "breakfast room" was out of most everything. No milk for cereal and the sack breakfast we picked up from the front desk included a rotten apple. They also had yogurt that had gone bad in the breakfast room. Breakfast was just bad. Our room was $199.00 and I don't feel it's a good value for the money we paid. read more

This hotel is very nice. It appears to be recently revamped. Everything looks fresh and new in the lobby and in our room. The beds are incredibly comfortable. 3 pillows per bed are soft, medium and firm so there are choices which is so nice. They have an indoor pool and spa which is why I booked here in the first place. They also offer a good size exercise room with lots of equipment. Breakfast is offered every morning from 6 to 10am. The choices include scrambled eggs, either bacon or sausage, biscuits and gravy, large pot of oatmeal, bagels and cream cheese, bread you can toast, muffins, waffles, whole fruit choices such as bananas and apples, yogurt, apple and orange juice, coffee, hot tea, milk, etc. But all is not roses... they have a new rule here. If you stay 3 days or longer, housekeeping must enter your room. I do not allow housekeeping during my hotel stays as my stuff has gone missing all too often. So now there is this new law that forces me, as a disabled person, to haul all my things that I cannot afford to lose down to my car for the day. This is difficult on my body and causes possible injury risk. Well, it's a good thing I did, because another item went missing in our room. Which I've already notified the front desk about it. Very frustrating. The laws change because of one bad apple, and many innocent people pay the price. If I get hurt hauling my things in and out of the hotel... what am I supposed to do about that? And what am I supposed to do about my missing item?? So annoying. read more

This La Quinta is close to the action for the college kiddos so you have been forwarded as far as traffic around the area. The hotel has a warm cabin feel to it and is only 3 stories tall. The rooms either have a river/park view or a fence/car dealership view so make sure to ask when booking. Parking was a bit limited so big trucks beware. Shopping and food is within a short driving distance. There are trains that travel through the area a few times a day and the horns can be loud and long. The indoor pool and spa area was a bit on the small side, but it is open 24 hours so that can make for a fun 2am swim. We did have to ask for more pool towels each time we swam- they couldn't seem to keep them stocked. The room felt spacious and was clean and up to date. Now the breakfast was close to a 1 star. We suffered through the meager offerings for 2 mornings, but on the 3rd, we skipped out. Staff was very sweet and warm and welcoming- smiling every time we walked by. Pet friendly so the hallways at times were a bit crowded with doggies coming in and out for walks. The best thing about this location was the river and the park nearby. To be able to hear ducks and geese honking outside at night was relaxing. We spent a great deal of time walking around at Alton Baker Park. read more

12:30 PM. I'm writing this instead of sleeping because it is so loud that we can't sleep. Given a room on the first floor next to the stairs. Why so many people need to use the stairs between 11 PM and 1 AM? No idea. I'd like sleep though. Tried to call the front desk, but the in room phone doesn't work, even after we plugged it in. When I used my cell to call and explained that the multiple children running up and down were making it hard to sleep the front desk told us they hadn't seen or heard them- they're at the desk buying candy right now. I advised her that I'd be happy to find out their room and go talk to their parents if she didn't want to call up and only then did she say she would try to get them to quiet down. The wall heater is controlled by a thermostat, but it works better when you plug it in too. Small parking lot with not enough spaces. If the spaces were larger then people wouldn't need to take up two. We fit our vehicle into one spot, but it isn't viewable from our room and is right on the road. It is a bit nerve wracking with the homeless camped nearby to have to just hope it doesn't get broken into. Room is clean, but with pretty much all electronics being unplugged that isn't even enough to make us want to stay here again. A better parking area and insulating rooms might help them. read more

Wow, you can't beat the location and price near downtown Eugene. AAA rate of $98. Clerk was more than accommodating by getting us a 2 queen room with river view. Beds were super comfortable. TV was a really wide flat screen- bigger than most of your 38 inches at typical hotels. WiFi was fast and easy to connect. Nice little gift shop near front office with UO stuff. Many guests were at the pool which is a nice touch to have for guests. Clerk recommended Chinese restaurant right down the street on MLK. Really good food at nearby Chinese restaurant even by my picky parents' standards. Only 15 minutes walk to downtown and love how Eugene is so friendly to bikers/mothers/runners. Breakfast was super sweet with yogurt, cereal, and fantastic coffee. Plus, fruit bowl was filled with apples, oranges, and bananas. read more

Also my kid wanted an extra pillow and blanket and apparently they don't have any here. I used to like it here but your money would be better spent elsewhere. We loved our stay here, we had a suite with a kitchenette, full size frig, microwave. Our king size bed was comfy with nice clean bedding. The shower head was adjustable with great water pressure.. The living room had a couch sofa bed a good size deck with free wifi. Two big screen TVs Free breakfast with a nice assortment and choices. Coffee was great but they need bigger ToGo cups. The staff was helpful and everyone of them were working with a smile, must be a nice place to work as well. Great customer service. Another awesome surprise for me was the location right across the street from a huge park on the riverfront. We had our dogs who stayed Free, so the park was a big treat for all of us! Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience here. My mother booked this hotel so that she could come and visit me over the weekend. She arrived early, so we went up to the front desk just to see if there was any possibility of an early check in. The girl at the front desk was rude and short, declaring it wasn't possible and there were no rooms available, without even checking, until 3pm when check in was. We left and came back at 3, and after standing in line for a while my mom was given her room key finally. When she went up to her room there was a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, the room itself was in a complete disarray with garbage and linen scattered about, and the tv was also on, which was very alarming as everything indicated that someone was still in the room. At that point my mom asked the nearby cleaners if the room had been cleaned, and they informed her that it wasn't even on their list of rooms to clean. She went back to the front desk where again, the girl working it was rather rude. Eventually, she agreed to get the manager to meet my mom outside of the room. They explained it was due to some error in the booking site not transferring into their system. So, my mom then had to go back down to the lobby and wait over an hour until the room was finally ready. I understand Eugene can get rather busy, but this wasn't a game weekend. There were no events going on. There is really no excuse for the way that she was treated, or the fact that her room was not ready by the agreed upon check in time and she was given keys to it when it was a complete mess. My mom recently had knee surgery and was already in pain before all of this happened, having to stand in line and go up and down from the lobby to her room only made that worse. Honestly, I don't even want to imagine what this place would be like when there is an event or game going on. If you're considering staying here when there is, or even when there isn't, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. read more
