Our family's favorite local pizzeria. They have a wide variety of vegan options as well as some pecialty house dishes that are great. Personal favorite is the Colpo Di Fulmine. Service is always great, pizzas are always hot, couldn't ask for more. read more

Thunderbolt is a great little pizza spot. Heard the hype about the hot honey pizza and we had to try. Came here with my fiancée and a couple friends. So we had to order the Colpo Di Fulmine, our friends for a vegan pizza, and we got the roasted root salad. We were served a beautiful pizza, with a nice char, and glistening from the hot honey. The flavors of the hot honey, pepperoni, and the mozzarella complimented each other so well. Perfect amount of heat and sweetness from the hot honey. I've never had it before. My only complaint is that they need to decrease the amount of honey or cook the pizza a little longer. While you're eating the pizza gets super soggy and kinda ruins it. The salad is mediocre and not worth the money. Great local beer list. Do yourself a favor, get the pizza to go, and head over to Ambitious Ales. I'd gladly come back here for more great food and service. read more

Great local pizza spot. Tons of pepperoni. I just stopped by for a quick lunch bite bc I was in a rush but I will definitely be back for a full pie. Picked up a couple of lunch slices, came out to $5 bucks. Due to covid there is no dine in. Location is next to Jamba Juice on the corner of Carson and Atlantic. They have ample parking. If not there's also street parking available. Everyone who was working there was friendly and approachable. Enjoyed my pizza, can't wait to go back! read more

Excellent thin crust, large sliced pizza! The kind of pizza where you're enjoying every bite from the busy end where all the toppings, textures, and flavors come together in anticipation of your final destination at the crust because you know from previous experience that the crust will finish off your experience with an exclamation point. Ever eat those pizzas where you leave your crust on the plate? Not from here. Love the pepperoni or just plain cheese pizza. Oh, and get you some garlic knots. Located at the intersection of Atlantic and Carson, there's a small shared parking lot of Atlantic. Clean inside. Friendly service. Some tables in an outside patio area. read more

We've been coming here almost weekly for a couple of months and the pizza is excellent; the crust and sauce are so well-balanced and perfect together. The garlic knots are some of the best I've ever had. But sometimes the customer service is lacking. Case in point, tonight we called in around 5:30 to pick up an order around 7:00-- it usually works great. Sometimes it's right on time, sometimes a little late. Tonight we had to wait an extra 40 minutes beyond the requested pickup time because of an order for a film crew. I don't know if that order had been called in before ours; probably not? But you know what? Your regulars care if they have to wait 40 minutes more for their order. That crew probably isn't going to be a repeat customer. They aren't going to notice if you cook someone's pie in the middle of their big order. To give the staff credit, they were working their tails off. They also called to let us know the order was behind, but the staff member on the phone just kind of passed the buck, blamed the big order, took no accountability, and seemed annoyed with us. Meanwhile, while we waited, the rest of the staff hustled back and forth from the restaurant to the dining tent and wouldn't even look us in the eye. It felt hostile. There was one staff member left inside at the counter, who politely listened to our complaint, and honestly who didn't deserve to be complained at. He was also working very hard. We're still going to eat here. It's still our favorite pizza place to order from, but honestly you guys can treat your smaller customers better. You can be more accountable when those big issues hold up an order. And like, finally, look at the sad cut on this pie. It's shameful. I'm half joking, but it also looks kind of like someone started to cut a pentagram into it and then changed their mind. read more

So this place was a disappointment, I ordered my go to pizza pepperoni mushroom jalapeno. I had high hopes, always see people there. I got some garlic knots also (best thing from my order). Pizza was bland af. Dominos tested way better . Waste of $37 read more

Thunderbolt has an amazing thin crust pizza that is always properly cooked on the bottom - not soggy like some. The pizza sauce is seasoned just right without a lot of sugary taste. Their salads are fresh and tasty They have a couple of tables inside and a few more outside. Though you may have to wait to be seated the wait for food is short. I am giving them four stars only because i find their menu hard to navigate and it is only shown in picture on the website. read more

This was probably one of the best pizzas I've had in years. Not only did it have a perfect texture, hand-tossed and cooked to perfection, with a delicious char, but the ingredients tasted real! I was satiated from just a few slices because it was real food. The restaurant is busy and has a wholesome atmosphere, but they still didn't forget to include a streamlined online ordering method, which was super convenient. The cherry on top was, even though the place was busy, and I was picking up, the customer service was phenomenal. I appreciated the prompt response, knowledgeable staff a welcoming personality. read more

First of all, I didn't give the five stars not because the food isn't good. The good is really good! I had pizzas, the Thunderbolt wings and zucchini sticks, great. The blue cheese and ranch sauces, excellent. The music playing overhead set up a good vibe and the services was nice. Cannot complain. The reason why my review is not five stars is because the appetizers were delivered to the table when we were half way through our pizza. Perhaps consider the time management in cooking time better. But I will return because I liked the food, the place and the service. I recommend anyone to try this place. read more

I have to be honest, I love pizza and could eat it everyday. This place has the best pizza in Bixby Knolls (maybe even Long Beach )! Great dough, crispy and fire charred on the outside and chewy on the inside, also has great flavor. I really liked the sauce, it tasted fresh and you can tell it is good quality tomatoes. Perfect comforting gooey cheese and greasy semi spicy pepperoni. Straight comfort food The service was also great, very friendly. I believe the owner greeted me and my daughter as we paid. I will definitely be back. I hope the community can support and keep this place around for years to come. read more

This is my favorite pizza in Long Beach!! Their dough recipe is truly one of my favorites combined with the char from the wood-fire oven. Perfect combo! I always get the hot honey pepperoni pizza and margarita. Of the two, my favorite is the hot honey pepperoni pizza, it has the perfect amount of sweet and salty. If you're ever in the mood for pizza, please do yourself a favor and order from here. read more

A perfect 5/5. First time here and impressed is an understatement. Customer service: Genuine care of all guests and get your food out perfectly timed and hot/fresh Food: Food hits on a different level. The Thunderbolt Hot Wings: Have a custom perfectly balanced wing sauce that also goes great on the pizza. As far as the wings go, crispy on the outside with the perfect fall off the bone. The wings have less fat than your traditional wings making them even more impressive. You won't be disappointed! The Old School BKLYN Pizza: perfect crust, deliciously balanced with nothing out of place. Puts Grimaldi's pizza to shame. This is the real New York of Long Beach! What is Pizza sometimes without a good home made ranch sauce. Easily the best Ranch in Long Beach. Pair it with your pizza and MmmMmmM! read more

This is my go to pizza spot when I'm in the area. This pizza place cares about what they're serving and everything is always hot and fresh. The service is wonderful and quick so don't be discouraged if you see a line out the door. The ambiance is simple and clean and gives you the option of sitting inside or outside on the patio. If you're in the area, you MUST try this spot, you will not be disappointed. read more

Delicious pizza! You have to get the pepperoni with hot honey it is amazing! Thin but not too thin, good crisp on the crust but still just enough chewiness! And the hot honey with the small pepperoni, is just delicious compared to what I'm used to eating! One Bite needs to do a review of this place! Will make this my new "Go To Spot!" read more

With the emergence of breweries in coalition with pizza shops, it seemed to be a recipe for success. Well at Thunderbolt Pizza, it simply isn't. I paid 34 dollars for a 16 inch pizza pie with a side of garlic knots, only to remember the sweet musings of Costco pizza. Not that Costco pizza is bad, however, this is on the same playing field. The garlic knots were okay, unfortunately burnt but I'll let that slide since the marinera sauce was good. Overall, this place sucks. P.S. I'd advise to tell the young blonde woman you all have working in the front that taking pizza orders on a Wednesday evening isn't really that bad. Customer service here is appalling. read more

I love this place. I reviewed it before, but am adding a second review because that's how much I love this place. I ordered the Sicilian pizza, which was amazing. Having lived in New York before, I can say this is the closest thing to New York-style pizza in all of Long Beach (although Little Coyotes on 4th is a close second, but Thunderbolt is much better and has way more options). The staff is wonderful. Yesterday, I got up at the end of my meal to ask for a to-go box, and one of the owners came to me and asked me to sit down, that shed bring one over, that I dont need to wait. That is excellent service. It really stood out to me that she was pay that much attention to detail and customer satisfaction/experience. The ambiance on a Friday night was awesome. The place was packed and there was a live band. Thunderbolt is an awesome experience. I love it. Highly recommend! read more

The. Cannolis. Are. The. Best! Yes, their pizza is fantastic. Yes, the sandwiches are amazing, bla bla bla... But if you neglect to eat one (as if I could eat just one) of their cannolis, you have totally wasted your trip to this place. I felt like I was sitting at the kitchen table in my Grandmother's home on Long Island. The shell is pure perfection and the filling is very obviously made with love. I just can't believe that this place is only 5 minutes away from my place. This is gonna' become a problem, but I really don't care. read more

I had high hopes for this place when I first saw photos. And don't get me wrong is not horrible The first time I had it.. I was truly blown away..very good! But sadly my few trips after were not so great.. extremely inconsistent! Also everytime I'm there there is an older man walking around who I assume is the owner or manager and he just seems so angry. I've seen him be nasty with his employees and it's just always uncomfortable in there. read more

The food is outstanding. There is something about their pizza sauce that is unparalleled. While I'm not a fan of wings I always order them here. Paired with their dill ranch dressing they are delicious. The service is great. Everyone is very kind, helpful, and attentive. Location is great with plenty of seating despite the small place. Highly, highly recommend. read more

My husband ordered a pizza from this place Sunday evening and we were disgusted and appalled by the service. Our pizza took over an hour to receive. We got the text message saying that our pizza was ready only to be told we had to wait another 40 minutes, our pizza came out burnt and dry 0/10. They only have one oven and we noticed some of the servers also taking food to the brewery next door, so less and less care goes into the food since they can't keep up with the capacity of orders. There was an old man in the kitchen (who apparently is the owner of the restaurant) that started yelling at his own customer in line who, surprise, after an hour hadn't received her garlic knots. Instead of an authentic apology he got loud and nasty with her. We watched as he treated his staff the same way. Terrible. My kids were with us and I had to take them outside the restaurant because I did not want them to see or mimic this type of behavior displayed by the owner of the shop. If this is what his business stands for, me and my family want no part of it. Never will be coming back. read more

Never disappoints! And always hits with a ambitious ales beer! Thank you guys for delivering to the table!

Love their honey pepperoni pizza and the zucchini fries. This place in next to a brewery so you can order the pizza straight from the brewery and thunderbolt will walk it over to the brewery next door! Good gig! Their wings are really good too. I like the food from thunderbolts but if you're going for a vibe, walk next door and grab a pint, you can support two small business at the same time! read more

Best New York style pizza in Long Beach! I've been eating here since they opened and it's my number one spot.

My boyfriend has been wanting to try this pizza place for awhile and we were craving pizza, so we decided to finally order it for delivery. I absolutely love that they have not only choose your own toppings pizza, but you can also do half and half. Lots of gourmet pizza places do not have this option. My boyfriend does not like any veggies on his pizza and sometimes I do so I really like this option. We also ordered mozzarella sticks, which also not many pizza places have on their menu and it's out favorite appetizer. If they have mozzarella sticks, it's a top choice in my lists of favorite pizza places in Long Beach. I only give it 4 stars because it was not the best pizza I've ever had and a little on expensive side, but still good. However, I will order from here again. read more

My friends and I decided to come here on the busiest day of the week given it was 1st Friday in Bixby Knolls. We had to wait a little over an hour for two pizzas which was valid since it was busy. Unfortunately, the pizzas were a miss for my group. They weren't the best or the worst, just somewhere in between in terms of flavor. The crust was crispy and delicious I will say. read more

Good to support local community businesses and I stand by that. Atmosphere: N/A ordered for delivery Food: 01. Cheese Pizza: Thin slice sort of like a new york style.
