My wife and i went here while on vacation on July 4th. The cocktail was more of mocktail, no adult juice to be tasted. The waiter failed to bring appetizer plates and napkins. The onion pedal was dripping with grease. The sides i ordered were mixed up and the coleslaw that was to accompany the meal never arrived. The chicken breast BBQ was dry. The portion of chicken I received was probably 6oz not awful, my wife's was maybe 4 oz. i would not recommend spending your time and money at this establishment. Hello, I went to Thorny's Steak House today with my family and my sister's family. My sister and her family where visiting from out of state. It is Labor day weekend, so I thought I better get there early or it will be packed for the weekend. I went in Sunday Sept 3rd 2023 at 11:30 am with 11 people for a big meal before the beach. When I arrived, the place was empty with only two other tables filled that I could see. The receptionist was nice and seated us quickly. We all ordered drinks followed by meals and everything was going fine. The waitress did great dealing with all the kids at the table. Then after about 10 minutes, the waitress came out and told me the Prime Rib was not ready because they did not put it in the oven soon enough and it takes a long time to cook. I was annoyed because Thorny's is known for Prime Rib and that's why I went in the first place, but I was a good sport and ordered a New York strip medium rare. I did not complain once. All the food came out and everyone was happy. My New York strip was burnt to a crisp with no pink in the middle and burned on the outside edges, but I was again a good sport and did not complain. I ate the burn parts of the steak that where not too gross. Then my bill came. On my bill was a $32 dollar charge for Prime Rib. I did not get Prime Rib because they told me it was not ready. As a result, I went up to the front desk to ask the receptionist politely about the amount of the bill. The receptionist was a thin middle aged woman that was polite and said she would grab the manager. Then the manager came out. He was a short heavy set male in his 30s dressed in street close. I asked the manager if Thornys specialized in Prime Rib? He said they did specialize in Prime Rib. So I let him know I came in for the Prime Rib, but that it was not ready, so I had to substitute a different entree for the Prime Rib, but that the Prime Rib was being charged on my bill. The manager rudely statched the receipt out of my hand and said I was a "Conceited Jerk." Then he turned his back on me and walked away. I stood there for a minute confused about the verbal attack. I then looked at the receptionist and said, "Did he just call me a conceited jerk?" The receptionist nodded. I then asked the receptionist. "Did I deserve that?" The receptionist shook her head and looked down. I then walked up behind the manager and I said, "I am not a conceited jerk, you are the jerk." He said. "I already know I'm a jerk!" I walked out of Thorny's before I said something I could not take back. I will never return to Thorny's. I do not recommend to anyone to go to Thorny's. I am a local, so I will make sure to tell all my clients NOT to go to Thorny's. I hope the manager is fired or Thorny's goes out of business. The food sucked anyway. The atmosphere was like going back in time to the 1980s. I do not think they have redecorated the place in 30 years. It reminds me of a bad themed cafeteria. read more

Cool place wanted to like my food - smothered chicken with broccoli - wife ordered fried shrimp. Eventually it showed up chicken was really dry and no taste and broccoli was cold. But I ate it cause we were hungry - wife's shrimp was just ok - course it's not a seafood restaurant but the smothered chicken could have been so much better. Just randomly decided to stop in after cruising the strip looking for something to eat while vacationing at Myrtle Beach and I'm glad we did. We started with the fried pickle spears which were lightly breaded and delicious. For dinner I ordered the Fried shrimp P0' boy and my girlfriend ordered the sausage and chicken with marinara. All entrees were piping hot, fresh and tasted amazing. The sausage in her dish must be local because the flavor was not of a store bought variety and was bursting with spices and flavor. June 26,2021 - way below average. Host asked us how many to confirm how many in our party, turned around and walked off. Not a word like "follow me or right this way ". Better yet - this same server sat a group consisting of a baseball team here for a tournament, ahead of us. Did you not think it might be annoying to an out town family such as ours? Maybe ask if this is okay? If I had not been starving and so late in the evening, I would have left. Appetizers were not what we ordered but still good. Food was hot but quite bland. Typical for a "sports bar", as most intoxicated rarely complain about food quality. Drink refills were offered once we finished eating. I thanked the waiter and tipped him the norm 20%. I explained he might wanna make friends with the host as he isn't doing him any favors. The next family might not be as understanding. Upon exiting the host was still there so I asked him how often he goes to dinner with his family/friends and enjoys sitting next to a ball team in an arcade? He said nothing and just looked puzzled. So I said, surely you understand waiters/waitresses work hard for tips. Do any in my family look interested in playing arcade games? Again, perplexing silence . This place is awesome! Excellent food, stellar service, and very kid friendly. They have an arcade room of games for the kids, a nice bar for the parents, and it's not far at all from the beach & all the shops. If you are visiting Myrtle Beach, this is a must stop in! A whole horde of people came in at once and it built up more as there was no host at the stand for about 5 minutes, not even a greeting. We got our table quick enough and ordered appetizers before the main meal. A runner gave out the meal but he said absolutely nothing to us not even after thanking him, as he had Airpods in and with a poor attitude of a unamused blank stare to be even working here. The main meal took about 40 minutes to wait for after the appetizers, which was awful to see a party of 5 people sat before us and left before we even got the check. The baked potato didn't even come served as i had thre piece of wrapped butter and a stick of sour cream to put on myself. The host wasn't too helpful as of refilling drinks and checking in but she was very slow with service and there wasn't follow up with why the food was late. Thorny's cooks need some cooking classes. My family went there for Christmas dinner. They wanted steak. They only have 3 steaks on the menu. Prime, NY strip and a ribeye. My husband ask for an unseasoned Ribeye. It was advertised as Hawaiian style. The waiter told my husband he could not get it that way. So my husband did not want anything. We ordered tumbleweed onions and got strings of onions in a pile of grease!!! Disgusting...we ordered fried pickles. Got spears with batter not cooked. It was the worst food ever!!!
