    Chilean Sea Bass

The Chilean Sea Bass was hands down the best thing I ate, BUT everything was amazing. Great drinks, bread, soup, sides, and dessert. Good atmosphere for a fancy date night. Our server was good too.

We sat in the bar and ordered drinks and dinner. The service was ok, not super attentive. I got the impression if we were regulars, we would have had a better, more engaging experience. The food was good. Not over the top amazing, but pleasing. It's kind of a shame that they are so expensive yet the experience is just adequate, at least sitting at the bar.

Went here for the 1st time on Wednesday January 14th 2026 to celebrate a birthday. Now before I start, we have never been to a restaurant like this, and it was quite fancy. Note also that this review is about 4-5 Stars. Anyways, we got there- and we chose to vallet our car since it is complentary to our visit. We were greeted by 2 smiling hosts that welcomed us in, and were very friendly. My mom had made the reservation online for 13 people. the host informed us that the table was in fact ready, and we could sit down if we wanted to- but since we were the first ones there, we decided to sit by the bar to have a few drinks while we waited. The bar is located behind the waterfall. Now i actually didn't have any drinks as I just had water. My parents had drinks though- and they were good. Oh, and if one orders a vodka with sprite- and it taste like club soda, let the bartender know- the soda gun might have ran out and have to be changed. Once changed it was so much better! Bartender was pleasant too. Once everyone arrived, we brought our drinks back to the table and sat down. For our large party, there was 2 waitresses taking care of us- both were friendly. Here lies the 4 stars, I took my water that I was drinking from the bar, and it was in the bar glass, and the waitress older one asked me if it was water that I was drinking.- seemed to be rude about it too, or I took it rudely-- If it was me I would have asked for an ID to be shown. Because I look young, but am actually 30. It was indeed water though, as I was drinking water the whole time. Anyways, beside that all was good. We were given a few to look over the menu and they also announced the specials. Also, not sure if it is still going on, but they did also have restaurant week specials that came with an appetizer such as fried calamari, select entree courses like steak and catch of the day, soup or salad, and special sizes like mac and cheese, asparagus, and more! and an dessert. The sides say that it can server 2-3 people, but most of it seemed like personal sides portions. Lots of people in my party got the restaurant week special. As for their regular menu, of course they have steak, and they even have sushi! For entree, I got some specialty roll with tuna and it was very enjoyable! Food came out in a timely manner. Waitresses constantly checked on us, and made sure our waters were refilled. I also tried some of my mom's mac and cheese, asparagus, and the fried calamari, of all which was very good. even tried her steak which was cooked to perfection and tender! Even the bread served was good and enjoyable. I think trying the sushi was the best part! Oh and for dessert there was cheesecake and creme brelee. Surprised that there was no chocolate options. Some people do prefer chocolate items- just saying. Also i tried my mom's cheesecake, and didn't like it. This is a more upscale restaurant and can be pricey. our friend paid the bill so not entirely sure how expensive this trip was for all. However I know my sushi was $25.00. Enjoyed the steak, sushi and sides though, and good food. If invited would come here again, but on my own, probably not. Recommend at least trying this place though!

Beautiful layout , exceptional steaks excellent service . My only issue and it really isn't a deal breaker but when the moment is special I feel as if 21 Main should do more to be aware of the reason for your visit . I noted that I was celebrating my wife's birthday and expected a note on the table for her and possibly a dessert on the house and that was not Presented . Although when I made my arrangements on open table I was asked what was my reason for coming, I stated to celebrate my wife's Birthday . I will say the waitress made things pleasant and the dessert I order for myself she placed a candle in it for my wife and the chef inscribed Happy Birthday on the plate . That being said I would consider 21 Main but it may be my 2nd choice if the event is special .

How can you not?! This place has such a good vibe and the food is outstanding! Hubby enjoyed the Fish Whistle cocktail and I enjoyed one of the best Paloma's in town. Started with oysters Rockefeller (so good ) French onion soup and salad next. Then on to dinner! Steaks are cooked with a light sear and temp to perfection! We had two types of potatoes and they both had a very unique taste so not a shared recipe or pot! broccolini was a la dente with great mix of spice and butter. The service is on point and response is perfection. This place is a must!

Treating the in-laws for vacay dinner.

Took my in-laws here on our Myrtle Beach Vacay. Customary for my fam is dine at a local $$$$+ or close restaurant which this is close of not $$$$ on Yelp. Anyway, very nice place and great experience. We were concerned w dress code bc in-laws dressed weather appropriate and we had so much fun at the Grand Priz track that we didn't have time to prepare for this place. Yeah But people where street casual to biz casual or in my father-in-laws case jersey shorts and sleeveless tee! lol. Wife and mother-in-law had the bone-in ribeye and I the Delmonico steak. Both were cooked to perfection and lots of flavor. Father in-law had the pork chops and he loved it. One thing I liked that I don't see often is they had a la cart sides some w individual servings and sharable; most places I've been are either or. My boys chose something simple and ate it all and ordered cheesecake to go. I didn't get a chance to sample that for you all but they ate it for breakfast the next day and suffice it to say no one but them knew how it tasted. The server was down to earth, responsive and proactive. The busboys were on point and just all around great service. And the Bathroom was clean! They also have complimentary valet service, which I didn't use but it's a thing. Definitely recommend.

This restaurant is a must visit! The ambience of this place is nice, the staffs and waiters here were friendly and our server was very attentive. The dry aged steak was amazing, the fillet mignon, asparagus, pork belly appetizer, even the fries were cooked to perfection! For the dessert, we had the smores ice cream is a must to order and your palate will thank you! We also had their tropical sorbet and we enjoyed it ad well. Way to go 21 Main !

We thoroughly enjoyed going to 21 Main on a vacation and celebrating a few family birthdays. The service was fantastic and even our waters never reached less than halfway full before being refilled. We got a variety of entrees: sushi, steak, and lobster tails, all of which were very tasty. This was a perfect location for a celebration!

    Monsanto Chianti Classico 2019

Went on a Friday night, and the place was buzzing. Tons of big groups, which made it feel lively and fun. Definitely more kid-friendly than New York Prime. If you're thinking about going, make sure to get a reservation--it was packed. Started with a Lavender Lemon Drop at the bar. For the price, I was expecting a fancy cocktail. They delivered with a flower on top. We had a group of 10 and got seated upstairs in the private dining room, which was nice and quiet. Our server was friendly, explained the specials really well, and made sure everything ran smoothly. We ordered a bottle of Monsanto Chianti Classico 2019, one of the more affordable options on the menu. Honestly, it was a solid pick--good flavor and great value for the price. They didn't make a fuss about chopping the BLT wedge salad in the back. (Last time I came, the server acted like it was a big deal. This time? No issues at all, thankfully.) The BLT Wedge comes with thousand island which I thought was strange. Roasted Chicken - It had good flavor, but the pan au jus was kind of weird and thicker than I expected. Filet Mignon- Tried a bite, and it was perfectly cooked--textbook medium with a great sear on the outside. Mac and Cheese- I thought kids' mac and cheese was better than the side version. Bigger portion and better flavor, too. All in all, 21 Main is a solid spot, especially if you're with family. The vibe is fun, the service is great, and most of the food hits the mark. A few small quirks, but I look forward to going back next time I'm in town.

Lump crab, very little bread crumbs, pan fried and served with a dollop of hollandaise. It needed some Old Bay seasoning. The Rockefeller Oysters were delicious. Plump oysters topped with spinach and Hollandaise. They need a splash of Pernod and would be 5 star. We split a piece of house made peanut butter pie for dessert. It wasn't good. Way too sweet and very soupy. Tasted like a cool whip recipe. Our tab was reasonable and we left our server a generous tip. We recommended the restaurant to numerous people we knew back at the hotel. We came on a Saturday night, shorty before close, so we were able to get two seats at the bar. Our bartender was extremely attentive throughout our visit. Complementary bread is provided. Comes with a nice oil and garlic blend. Ordered the Bucatini Puttanesca & Spaghetti with Italian Sausage. These come with a dinner salad or up grade to a Caesar for $2 more (which I did). Both salads were fresh and delicious. I will say one of the best caesar dressings I've had. The pasta, presentation was lovely. The flavors bland, tomato sauce (tastes straight from the can) had no additional spices present and the pasta way over cooked. Seems their noodles are pre-cooked and Al Dente then is just not possible. This is another reason why the rating was just below average. Really disappointing. Would not be a place we would revisit.

I figured he will like the old clubby atmosphere of Thoroughbreds plus they have great wine and an excellent burger. We got there a few minutes before 4:30 and waited in the car until they opened up. Now I haven't been here in a few years, but it looked exactly the same... bar to the left as you come in, with multiple dining rooms scattered throughout, some with a fireplace some without, all of it projecting private club with a southern flair. It's decorated well. We sidled up to the bar, where we were the first two patrons there and sat at the end. The bartender was attentive and quickly came over with menus and asking for a drink order. I ordered my father a nice glass of Pinot Noir and a seltzer water for myself and then quickly began reading the menu. Thoroughbreds has a happy hour menu that is served at the bar and a more extensive full menu served at the bar and in the dining rooms. I settled on the burger with fries for my father, with no cheese or other accoutrements that is always served on a pretzel bun. It comes with Gruyère cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion...that's the way I usually get it, but my father being 90 is set in his ways. I decided on an appetizer of escargot and the main course of elk chops cooked medium and served with broccolini and mashed potatoes. After a while(and another glass of wine for my father) the escargot came out with some hot bread and infused butter. The escargot was tender and flavorful with hints of garlic and parsley in a rich butter sauce. The bread was a good choice to dip into the plate. A few moments later, my father's burger came out, cooked to perfection with crispy shoestring fries that were moist and tasty in the middle. The happy hour version of the elk chops consisted of two. They were served crusted over the broccolini with a nice moundful of herb infused mashed potatoes. The elk chops were delicious and tender, and the broccolini and potatoes were seasoned to perfection. By the time we were done, the bar was full and people were having a great time eating and drinking. I looked over at my father and I could tell it was time to go so we headed out the door and drove back to our condo in North Myrtle Beach . Overall, I find Thoroughbreds an excellent upscale dining experience with friendly and professional waitstaff in a club like atmosphere that serves great steaks and chops.
