Have been to Bistro 90 over the past 4 years for Special Occassions. We were there in Jan. 2026 & again August 2026 to celebrate my niece & het fiances engagement. We love the fried calamari with peppers & the Surf & Turf with the Main Lobster Tail. Asked the waiter if the Lobster Tail was from Maine, he checked and said yes. When our calamari came, it was not made as it was in the past, and was tough, no bananna peppers and was bland. When our dinner arrived, we had a spiny southern lobster that was mushy and stuck to the shell. It was not a Main Lobster as we were told. We were dissapointed that the quality of the seafood was poor & the prices went up! Needless to say, I will not return to this establishment. Located in Longs SC sits Bistro 90. The restaurant is nice looking with interesting paintings of celebrities along the wall. Services was attentive and helpful. We started with 2 appetizers, the 1st being Two large pan Seared Scallops over a house roasted Pork Belly. Scallops were great but the pork belly was surprisingly tough. The second app was Burgundy escargot in roasted bone marrow with Pomodoro tomatoes. This is an elegant and interesting escargot dish like you never had before. The wife ordered Center Cut Chilean Sea Bass, with roasted carrots and potatoes. The fish which was cooked perfectly was the largest piece of Sea Bass she has ever enjoyed. I ordered the New Zealand Elk Chop with a Black Berry Deni-Glace. The elk with black berry glaze was good, but the meat itself had some tough pieces. Amazing experience from start to finish! We booked Bistro 90 for a large group dinner during our company offsite, and it was absolutely perfect. First off, Amanda was an absolute gem to work with! She made the entire process seamless and stress-free. The menu was super easy to build with many yummy choices, the cost was incredibly reasonable (especially for the quality), and the communication was top-notch. The private dining room was spacious, quiet (well I guess we were loud lol), and really did feel like a private experience -- perfect for a group gathering without feeling crammed. Every person in our group walked away happy, full, and impressed. The service was smooth, food came out quickly, and everything tasted delicious. Our server was well trained and had a great sense of humor. Prices are on the high side and do not include a side. Warm bread with salted butter is included. Each side costs an additional $10. We ordered the 10 oz wagyu special, sea bass, salmon, rack of lamb, risotto, whipped potatoes, Brussel sprouts, watermelon and feta salad, bananas foster, tartufo, cheesecake, and two bottles of red wine. We had a fabulous experience here with our favorite waiter and entertainer, John. Best host, server, comedian, dish recommender ever! We love him!!!! BUT! Have to give props to the chef, OMG, the dishes he prepares were off the chart incredible, every bite delicious! We can highly recommend the Wagyu steak and egg appetizer, like butter in your mouth. The steaks, the Sea Bass, the Lamb, the 4 cheese potatoes, the candied carrots, the Brussels Sprouts were best seasoning I've ever tasted and the Parmesan risotto was off the chart, too. There were 5 of us so we all got a taste of every side. The Hawaiian black salted butter is amazing on the freshly baked bread and steaks. We been u just about every steakhouse in the area. This is by far our favorite. My husband son and I stoped in for a last minute dinner on our way from North Carolina. We'd been here once 3 or 4 years ago. We were a bit hesitant because we were not crazy about the food that time. The also own the Aspen Grill which is our favorite restaurant in the area so we decided to give it another try. We ordered the calamari which was excellent with the spicy papers we wonderful. My son order the pork belly with scallops also excellent. For our main we shared the tomahawk speak. There is a $10 plate share which we all felt was fair. Best steak by far. We were given a gift card and decided to use it for our anniversary. The food was delicious! Our waiter Stefano was outstanding. Not pictured we had the Roasted Pork Belly and Scallops appetizer! They are to die for and highly recommend. We enjoyed a Caesar salad (delicious, we'll skip that next time, too much food). The owner came over to our table to check on us. Last night my partner and I went to Bistro 90 for a birthday celebration. My birthday celebration was a complete disaster. Our bill came to $240 with the tip. No drinks, just water. My partner ordered sea bass and a side of spinach. I, for my birthday, ordered the 20 oz Cowboy ribeye and two sides which were $10. each. I ordered my steak medium rare. I also ordered two sides which are not included with the entree. When the meal came, I was asked to cut into the steak to see if it was to my liking. The entire steak was medium. No where was there any hint of pink. Now, if I am going to pay $79. for a steak, I should have it to my liking. I had to send it back because I knew that I would not enjoy it. Well, my partner had finished his meal which he said was okay. For $70. it should have been more than okay. Anyway, he had finished his meal and we sat there for I kid you not, an additional 40 minutes waiting for my steak. By this time, I really felt like I couldn't even eat, I was so upset. I was again asked to cut into it. It was barely better than the first. The two sides had been sitting there for an hour and were very cold by that time. Do you think that they could have brought new sides to go with the hot steak? Do you think the waitress could have offered to warm my two sides? No. I asked for a container. I was so upset that I could not eat. Do you think that a manager or someone could have come over and apologized? That did not happen. Or that they might have made some sort of adjustment in the total price for their incompetence, again no. I told the waitress that I did not blame her but my birthday dinner was a complete disaster. She said, "well I hope you give us another try." I said NO. Seriously, if they are going to charge $79. or $110. (yes they had a steak for $110) that they would have a chef that knew how to cook a damn steak!!!!! The next day I was going to have it for lunch and honestly, there was no flavor, no juice. Dried up steak went straight to the trash. THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. To make matters worse, we had a $100 gift card and was told that they could only use $80. of it because the computer wouldn't let them use the whole amount. Did not honor reservation. It was my first time ever trying Bistro 90 based on others recommendations. I made an advanced reservation for dining through their website that was guaranteed with a Credit Card. I reserved standard seating, specifically stated on the reservation but when I arrived had been moved to the bar. We are a sober couple so the bar was inappropriate for the date. They did alternatively offer outdoor dinning but to be honest, I just didn't want to sit near the busy road house for the date. I understand booking errors happen but the hostess was less than apologetic and felt quite apathetic. I think that is really what was disappointing was the service level. we did decide to cancel the reservation and seek other dinning options due to the poor service. the atmosphere seemed nice as expected based on the menu. I cannot speak to the food as we did not dine on account of the service. If you use online booking for the reservation, call ahead and ensure your booking is honored before arriving. read more

Our family dined there last night. We really enjoyed our experience. Just a few comments I would note. The two beautiful seafood dishes should NOT be paired with Basmati rice! My fine Chilean Sea Bass deserves any other starch. It's really made the fish less enjoyable. Ditch the dry flavorless rice! That should only be used in Indian dishes. My other comment is around the tiny dishes used to present the beautiful cuts of fine meat. We ordered lots of sides. It made it difficult to place them on the tiny dishes. Let me start with the positives. Bistro 90 has a great atmosphere, awesome art on the walls by a local artist which is for sale. The food was excellent! All but the asparagus and Brussel Sprout sides were amazing! We had oysters, fried green tomatoes, a caprese salad (called tomato mozzarella salad) & Cesar salad. My wife had salmon, and my elderly parents and I shared the 44oz porterhouse. All were great. Their scotch, bourbon, and wine list are unparalleled for anywhere in the south. Chris, who was our server, was great! His attention to us was fantastic! My biggest rub was with the owner, Rowland. Rowland was very active in the dining room, which was about 60% full. He made his rounds, thanking most tables. For some reason, he decided to skip our table, which was one next to the corner, yet made time for each table on both sides of us. Neither of which seemed like he knew them. They were quick interactions, yet a nice touch. They were also quick diners, meaning had an app and an entree then left. I treated my parents and wife to a 3hr and almost $900 meal and don't even get a hello or thanks for coming. I'm not needy. I just feel that dropping almost $1,100 on a dinner for 4 people in the middle of nowhere in SC (let alone in NY where I'm from) you would get the same as most others in the room. She also brought out the "raw meat display " featuring the special cuts available. I chose the strip (which of course is all PRIME). Wife had the "melt in your mouth " filet mignon.
