Really 4.5 I'd say. Decent view (wish it were on the pier rather than at the side) but food was really good and prices were very fair. Had Nita as our server - sweet lady. Great relaxed vibe as we sat in the huge Adirondak chairs outside. Flounder basket was huge - served grilled. Will be back! read more

FIRST VISIT! This isn't the easiest place to find but you will be happy when you do!! They are located in the very back of a huge mobile home park 'community'. There's usually a slight wait, but it was worth every minute. You can sit outside, wait in your car, stroll through the pier market/store or pay to walk out into the pier while you wait. They will call you when your table is ready. We had an awesome waitress (from Greece) who was very helpful for many items in the menu. We did try the Tator Kegs (house made Tator tots stuffed with bacon and cheese) and they were good. Hubby enjoyed his burger and seasoned fries. There was an issue with my first batch of flounder but the kitchen got it right 100% in the second try! The shrimp were delectable and the flounder was spectacular. I will ALWAYS eat at Groupers when in Surfside!!!! It's too good not to!!! read more

We had lunch at Groupers during our fishing adventure on Apache Pier (highly recommend as well!). My husband and son had the bang bang shrimp basket and I the fried catfish basket. The catfish was tender and not greasy. The boys loved the shrimp. The highlight of both were the epic hush puppies! It was a great lunch! read more

This place is awesome! Unless you know where it is, you'll miss it. It is nestled at the back of a campground and you have to go through their gate to get into this place. WORTH THE HASSLE! The restaurant sits at the front of the Apache Pier and has an old south feel to it. The service is always great. The food is always wonderful. Great bar. Great food selection. Perhaps one of the best hidden gems in Myrtle Beach! read more

Grilled grouper was so extremely salty it was barely eatable. We were with a few other people so did not want to delay by asking for a different plate of food. The amount of vegetables was negligible! Others did not finish their food either. The date we all ate there was March 20, 2026. Our server was very nice. read more

Highly recommend- our favorite meal during vacation!! We are from WI and we were craving fresh seafood. We sat outside with a beautiful view of the ocean. Service was quick with how busy it was. We ordered grouper bites, hush puppies, bang bang shrimp, flounder seafood basket and grouper meal. There was not 1 thing left on our plate! The bang bang shrimp was definitely a family favorite. I had a wonderful time at Groupers at the Pier. On my visit to Myrtle Beach, I found this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews as we were looking for a good seafood spot on the beach. It was a short drive from our hotel and we were happy to enjoy a view of the ocean as we enjoyed our delicious meal. We opted for the fried shrimp seafood basket and an order of grouper fish. Given it was the namesake of the restaurant, we were curious to try it out. We thoroughly enjoyed the fried shrimp and the dipping sauces were very tasty and made a good pairing for the shrimp. The grouper was quite tasty and we enjoyed the sides that came with it as well. Our servers were prompt with getting us seated and taking our orders, and they checked in with us frequently. This is a nice lunch place for anyone visiting (or living in) Myrtle Beach and a great seafood spot! read more

Pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavors of the food. We were expecting average touristy food. The surf and turf Valentine's Day special was a perfectly seasoned steak and perfectly cooked lobster tail. I had the grilled grouper and was very happy with the flavor of the dish. Walked the beach this morning and wanted some seafood. What a nice surprise when walking up the pier to find Grouper's. Nita was our waitress and she was so nice and came with recommendations of things to do and places to go while we are here. Food was affordable and filling. Appreciated my spicy margarita rimmed with Old Bay seasoning too. Plus was the dolphins were out and we were able to watch them as we ate. The bartender even came out to make sure we saw them playing. This was the perfect lunch for the day. Scenic and sunny. Very casual atmosphere and great for kids too!! read more

Great location right on the pier, food was reliable but not anything crazy, and the service was awesome. I recommend looking out for the server/bartender "kool aid" she's awesome and made our experience 10x better. I also recommend the banana frozen drink alcoholic or not it is so refreshing and tasty. Only thing I would change is the space being a little bit bigger which would help with the longer wait times for bigger parties! read more

First thing is how challenging it is to get to. You have to go through the campground and compete for parking with the people visiting the pier. But now for the things that went well, the Service was very good. Nita was very attentive and made sure that we had everything that we needed. We ordered the clam chowder and the calabash shrimp platter. I will say that the food for us was big enough for us to share , but all of it was very good. The standout was the clam chowder was some of the best I've had down in the south. As for the atmosphere, it's a small little quaint restaurant that's attached to the pier so it is in a popular spot. Prices were higher than I would have liked but overall a solid 4. read more

When we are on vacation one of my favorite things to do is discover good eats off the beaten path using Yelp. This was exactly that. Place is a little difficult to find but thanks to another reviewer's advice, we found it very easily. So glad we did. Service was extremely quick and very polite. Hubby got a dozen oysters on the half shell which were good. I got the crab cake, which was divine. For entrees, he got the seafood platter and couldn't finish it (rare for him). I got the grouper basket and also couldn't finish it. Coleslaw was the type with vinegar, which I don't really care for. Hubby loves it, so he ate his and what was left of mine. The grouper was breaded perfectly and the hush puppies were so light and had a touch of sweetness to them. Our friends got the peel and eat shrimp and shrimp pasta. The peel and eat were quite large, and he was very happy with them. We arrived around 8 and even though the small parking lot was full, we were seated right away inside. We never felt rushed even though it was after 9 when we finished our meals. They also had outdoor dining available. Saw several families there. The place wasn't really noisy. Prices were reasonable, especially for the amount of perfectly prepared food we were served. We will definitely eat there again whenever we make it back to Myrtle Beach. All the servers seemed happy to be there, which is rare in this day and age. Thanks for another great discovery Yelp! read more

Nice little place with excellent sea food and Clam Chowder. .Menu had good variety. Our choice was Grouper Bites - real good. We saw nice salads and burgers and Shrimp go to other tables. Our waitress Latoya was really nice, helpful and took care of us like family. We will go back. Price was good not like the big seafood places on the main road. Service was terribly slow. Didn't get drinks for well into 20 minutes at the table. The server seemed very angry and annoyed the entire time. The food was all fried options that we ordered however all of them were soggy. The ambience was kind of gross. Most people didn't have shoes or shirts on coming in from the beach. It's overall the worst place we went to on our trip. read more

Food cold, ordered vegetables, got a plate of sautéed onions with one tiny piece of broccoli, 4 pieces of squash, the rest was onions for $5.00!!! The coleslaw was relish. Watched a server drop containers of sour cream or ranch dressing on the floor, pick them up and put them back on the tray, after fixing the lids, wiped the floor up with a rag, put the rag back in the sink area. One guy decided to sweep the rug coming from the kitchen, stirring up the dust. So sad, used to be delicious, now they are just phoning it in. Won't be back. No effort obviously. read more

Great little restaurant! Perfect lunch spot. Nothing fancy, just a nice spot with a local home feel to it. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was good, and reasonably priced. Overall, a great experience. It's located in a rv community, and it has a guarded, gated entrance, but don't let that deter you. It's a nice place. read more

We decided to order several appetizers to start and they were very good. They were good enough that we made a meal out of four of the appetizers. I do want to return to this restaurant and be seated and properly served. Not in any way reflecting on the bar staff they went out of the way to make sure we were satisfied and well taken care of. I want to return because they had great appetizers and you just know the entrees will be very special

We ordered a side of turnip greens and got a huge basket of fries, ordered blackened shrimp and received poorly cooked deep fried shrimp, ordered blackened fish and received a portion the size of fish and were told would be more then enough for two , ordered crab claws ( LuLu's specialty) and received a deep fried finger of the claw with no crab meat just batter, ordered fried oysters and received scraps of deep fried batter but did receive two large servings of coleslaw. We enjoyed the slaw and eat any of the food. Finally got some blackened shrimp and turnip greens after several visits from different servers. I very nicely said something about the food to our server and she brought out a very apologetic manager, he said he would not have eaten the food either and said it had been happening all day. Didn't charge us for the food and was very nice about it. My take on this is of course is we will not return and secondly the manager said they were serving food like that all day long.
