Love this place! My nieces and I discovered this place after leaving the Outlets. It is a hidden gem and we will be back! The staff was very friendly and accommodating! I look forward to returning! With it being our first night of vacation, we were looking for something laid back and local. Spanky's hit the mark! When we got there the manager informed us the kitchen was full, and it may be 30 minutes before we got our food. Since we weren't in a hurry we were fine with this...after all as long as we are in the know and the process is communicated to us, then we are content to grab a beer and just relax. Our son got Mac 'n cheese from the kids menu and he chose a salad for his side. Initially he didn't want dressing but then 1/2 way in he asked for vinegar and oil. They delivered and it was delicious. When my husband's Italian Panini and my Italian wrap arrived, they were so flavorful and worth the wait. I got the recommended corned beef Reuben with the coleslaw. The Reuben was on a crispy Italian roll that was yummy and crispy. I've never had a Reuben that wasn't on Rye and it's was pretty good. I loved the corn beef and the sauerkraut. If you like the sweetness of KFC's coleslaw then get the slaw. I loved it. It was delightful and nice and cold. My husband got the turkey club it definitely needed a sauce. Maybe a honey mustard? It was very dry. But he ate it and said it was still good. He loved the fries so much. Spankys Pub is a divey locals bar with great food! I visited on my birthday and had a blast! Most of the patrons knew each other as well as the staff. For food they have burgers and the usual suspects for bar food. One thing that intrigued me was the egg rolls. They are done in house with unusual fillings such as Mac&Cheese, Rueben, Buffalo Shrimp etc. I ordered the sampler platter with five choices. They were all delicious! Placed a togo order, picked it up and ate it in the car in their parking lot. Everyone was very nice, food was ready at time promised. It's a small spot, easy to miss. Fried pickles were a great attempt, they are full spears. Unfortunately, although we ate them almost instantly (they were insanely hot), they wouldn't retain the breading. I believe they needed to be dried off more with perhaps a different breading mix. They did taste very good, but required "assembly" to enjoy. I'd give them a 3.5, if the breading had stuck they would have been a 5. Rueben was very tasty, bread was amazing, sauce was on point. Only gripe was there was 2 oz of meat, tops, leaving 1/2 of the bread on either end untouched. With no exaggeration it was one big bite of meat, on the whole sandwich. I'd give it a 3 as I really felt the meat portion wasn't on par. It would be a 5 with a more corrected portion. Last item was a chicken quesadilla, it was gross. Prepackaged chicken with cheddar cheese (which is weird on its own for a quesadilla), no color on tortilla and just a very novice job, something I'd expect a teenager to make. Taco Bell's quesadilla would be fine dining in comparison. In short, the pickles and Rueben have the potential to be great. The quesadilla needs to be removed from the menu. If you are in the area it's worth a visit under the hope I just caught them on an off day or they take this critique as an opportunity to improve. read more

Our friends ordered the chicken cheese steak with onion rings and 10 lemon pepper wings. While we waited my wife and her crazy friend ordered some kind of creamsicle shot that looked like dessert. I enjoyed the buffalo shrimp and Ruben egg roll. My wife enjoyed her Shrimp Po'boy. She's quite the connoisseur of Po'boys and she said "I loved it. The breading was light and flaky and the sauce was very tasty." My friend enjoyed his chicken.wings and his wife devoured her chicken cheese steak. Her eyes were bigger than her stomach so we helped her with her onion rings. They were made fresh and were well seasoned and crispy. My turkey melt was good on a hoagie roll. The only complaint I had is that the sandwich had the same sauce as my wife's Po'boy which was not appealing. Other than that my fries were crispy and tasty. I don't want to say anything negative or leave a bad review for a neighborhood bar so I'm leaving 4 stars, even though it should be more like a 2. That said, we didn't have a very good experience last night. Understandably the service was lacking (they were very busy at the tail end of a rush). We were very patient, but didn't get napkins or utensils when the food was served, ordered a second drink with the food and it never came, never checked on, etc. Easy fixes...maybe she was new. Stood talking to a 6 top that was just seated for about 10 minutes-maybe regulars, idk...glad she came to work...but also...come on. Anyway, the main issue we had was with quality control. Stale hot dog buns, to be specific. How cheap is bread? Even retail you can get 1000 buns at Costco for $3. And the chips were beyond burnt-inedible. Please double check the food is at least somewhat fresh and not burnt before serving it. I'd rather be told an item isn't available than to be served expired food. I had a dinner salad that was good and hubs said the chili on the dogs was really good. Although, he did have a somewhat upset stomach later. Chili dogs can do that to ya, I guess. Lol read more

This place was right off the complex I stayed at while visiting Myrtle Beach. We decided to have dinner here since it was raining/storm warnings and we didn't want to go far. From the outside you can see a surplus of outdoor seating, but the inside is different. A bar and about 5-7 tables for guests. As we walked in we were greeted and told we can sit wherever. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients used. Saved my life by not letting me have the pudding shot because I am allergic to coconut, but I wish there was an option for me. Everyone was satisfied with the food. I built my own burger, 1/4 pounder with onion ring, Mac and cheese, and bbq sauce.. delish. Although I asked for my burger to be cooked med, but it was well. Also tried the hotyaki wings and it's like a spicy bbq sauce, but really good. The best part of this meal was the price. We went during happy hour which is 4-7 I believe and the wings are $5, domestic drafts $2, and a bunch of other food and drink options for $6 or less.
