    PARTY TIME
    Cheryl G.

We had a Travel to Myrtle Beach birthday celebration! Fun times for a great guy-John Joyner-!! Pizza, presents & adult beverages. We went to Fat Tuesdays at Broadway at the Beach. Wonderful icy drinks on a hot day. spiked Gummy worms & Jell-O shots, shooters & a nice Icy cherry slush. A fun time had by all. Pull up a stool and party time! Plenty of parking at Broadway. Loads of shopping & eats. Spend the day!

While waiting for fireworks, seven of us were walking around this little area aimlessly. When some of the members of our party started walking in circles, the men exited the loop and headed for Fat Tuesday for a drink. We saw that you can order frozen beverages with grain alcohol in them. Since I owed my cousin a drink, I bought us both mango smoothies with grain alcohol. It's nice that you can walk around outside and drink at the same time. Back in Ohio, you'll have no such luck. Stuck In Ohio! Anyway, the drink was tasty and kept us cool on the hot summer night while watching fireworks.

The drinks are cold and strong. The staff was super friendly. We went 2 days in a row because you can't beat the refill for $10. You can sip on your drink as you walk around the plaza! Definitely recommend giving this place a try.

This is like Cirque in Atlanta but smaller with fewer options. Two of these will get you wasted. I had the 190 with the Blue Moon and a shot of Everclear. It was strong and really good. Nice bartender/server, and you are allowed to walk around the park with the drinks which is nice, and I like that they card to enter.

Fat Tuesday at Broadway At The Beach in Myrtle Beach is a great place to go for delicious food and drinks in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. I really like the location and everything that they have available here. The staff here is very attentive and makes sure that you have everything that you need. Good experience every time here.

They have a great selection of frozen drinks, and allow you to sample them. They also have a fully stocked bar, so if frozen drinks aren't your thing, don't worry. They also have Jell-O shots and gummy bear shots. We tried the gummy bears and they where great. Just make sure to shake them up because the liquor likes to settle to the bottom. I was however disappointed that there wasn't more indoor seating at the bar and the tables around. So you where left standing which doesn't make it comfortable if you plan to hangout and stay a while. The bartenders were okay, some didn't seem to happy to be there. But one guy was nice and socialized a little bit. But other than that they were not to friendly. I may come back in the future but it wouldn't be my go to bar in Myrtle beach.

Loved the drinks. I got the pina colada w/ a shot of patron and it was amazing. You can also walk around with the drink around Broadway.

Ask the Community - Fat Tuesday

    Is there a cover charge?

The numerous times I've been and this has been at several locations, I've never paid any cover charge. We just walk in and go straight to the bar area and order. Not sure if they have special events and they ask a cover, but I've never paid.

Ailsa Pub - Myrtle Beach Review (Legends Golf Resort)…read more For starters, I had no idea this place was located within a large, access-controlled gated golf resort community (I'm not local to Myrtle Beach, for context). I later realized the pub is part of Legends Golf Resort, which becomes clear once you pass through the main entry gate. Pulling up to the entrance, there was on-site personnel--looked like security or some type of access control. No issues at all on my end. I rolled up, the gate opened immediately, and I was waved right through. I'm not sure what (if anything) is typically required for entry, but from a first-time visitor standpoint, it was completely smooth. Driving in, the golf course immediately stands out on your left--it's massive. The pub sits further inside and feels like part of a full golf clubhouse setup. When you get to Ailsa Pub, it aligns with what you'd expect from that kind of setting--a true pub environment surrounded by golfers who've clearly been enjoying themselves Before I even walked in (after parking and getting myself together from a long drive), I noticed a couple golfers being escorted out by what appeared to be a representative from the establishment. As I stepped out, one of them made his way over to the bushes near the entrance and decided that was his next "relief stop." It happened to be a windy night, so I crossed to the other side of the street--no need to get caught in any unintended "splash zone." Not a dealbreaker, just one of those moments that gives you a quick read on the overall environment. That said, this is where I think there's an opportunity. Having a more consistent presence outside--especially when guests are being escorted out or appear overly intoxicated--could help better manage those situations and reduce the likelihood of issues as people head out, including potentially getting behind the wheel. Speaking from experience (having spent years working security across a range of bar environments), that kind of presence can make a noticeable difference in keeping things smooth and controlled. Inside the pub and overall physical environment, though--that was a great experience. The place is very well maintained. Clean, professional, and clearly well managed. I felt completely at ease the entire time, including with my vehicle. At no point was I concerned about break-ins or anything along those lines. The space itself is impressive. Large, open layout with plenty of room to move around. There's a sizable back area with what looked like around eight pool tables, a nicely done screened-in section, and even a second outdoor patio bar. It never felt crowded. Staff was excellent--friendly, professional, and attentive. The bartender was responsive and easy to engage with, which always makes a difference. Dress-wise, it leans toward golf attire--polos, golf shorts, that type of look--but it's not overly strict. I came in more casual after the long drive, and the staff welcomed me in without any issues at all. I don't know that I'd make that a habit, but on a late Monday night, it wasn't a problem. As for the crowd, that's really the main variable. My impression was that this is not the type of environment where people are regularly looking to cause more serious trouble. It felt more like a local neighborhood pub where a lot of people know each other--though like any place, every now and then people can get a little too comfortable. Unfortunately, I didn't try the food, but they do serve it and it looked good. There were plenty of plates out, tables being cleared, and staff actively supporting that side of the operation. Bottom line: Great, comfortable environment, strong staff, and a well-designed space. The main opportunity is having a more consistent presence outside to help manage guests as they exit--especially later in the evening. All in all, a solid experience. I'd confidently give it a 4 out of 5 and would absolutely return.

Jan. 2026 My wife…read moreand I hadn't been back to 44 & King in a few years. With so many good restaurants in the area, we usually try new places, but before heading home we decided it was time to stop in again for dinner. As usual, we try to go during happy hour when prices are a bit better, and we sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly she greeted us right away, handed us menus, and took our drink order. The menu had changed a bit since our last visit. My wife ordered a Coke, and I had an Old Fashioned. For food, my wife chose the Fried Crab Claws with fries, and I ordered the French Onion Soup along with the Pork Nachos from the happy hour menu. While we were waiting, the bartender asked where we were from. We told her Southern Maryland, and when I said Huntingtown, she immediately said, "That's where I'm from." That alone surprised us not many people even know where Huntingtown is. When we mentioned the road we live on, she said, "That's the road I turn on to my parents' house." This was the first time we've ever met a bartender or server over 400 miles from home who lived that close to us. Small world. Our food came out and my wife really enjoyed her crab claws -- I tried one and they were very good. My French onion soup had a nice, deep beef flavor and was very tasty, but after a few bites there was a heavy pepper bite that came through. It was still good, but I had to switch over and eat some of my nachos, which were also good, though different from how I remembered them. I think the BBQ sauce changed the flavor, and the lettuce (which I usually prefer without) was something I should have asked to leave off. I asked my wife to try the soup and mentioned the pepper and that it might be a little spicy. She agreed it was good but said it would be better if it wasn't so peppery. A little later, the chef came out and introduced himself, Bo. He asked how everything was going. I told him everything was good overall but mentioned the heavy pepper bite in the onion soup and asked if that was normal. He said it shouldn't be that strong and that it needed to be toned back. Bo then asked if we had ever tried Mama's Soup, the tomato vegetable soup on the menu. We hadn't, and he asked if we'd like to try it. Not long after, he brought us another bowl and said, "This is Mama's soup give it a try." It was a vegetable soup with hamburger and a tomato base, and it was so good. When he came back, he explained it was his own version of his mother's soup. We told him it would go perfectly with a gooey grilled cheese, and he laughed and said they actually have one on the menu. It was really nice of Chef Bo to come out, check on us, listened and know something wasn't quite right, and it's being taken care of. That kind of interaction truly makes dining out a better experience. It makes the place feel welcoming, like they genuinely want you there. Yes, we will return -- and we were told that Mama's soup is always on the menu.
