Never been here before so thought I'd try it out. I should went with my gut feeling when I first walked in. Our food I think was worst food I've ever eaten. I picked up my burger and it dripped like water but it was actually grease my whole bun was soaked in grease including the fries. I got half way thru eating it anyway and chomped down on something hard no clue wat it was and didn't wana know so just spit it out in napkin and told boyfriend I was done. Even he didn't eat but maybe half of his wings cuz he also said they were nasty. Not to mention lord only knows how long that trash been sitting under that machine probably as long as the dust on there fans!! We stopped in here for lunch our first day in Myrtle Beach. Our server was awesome and so helpful with advice of kid friendly activities in the area. The food was literally the best food we had the entire time we were in town! I had the near burger and their home made Mac n cheese and OMG it was the best burger I have ever had! The Mac n cheese was super good too! The kids had wings and they loved them!!!! Their fries were awesome too and you get a lot of everything for your money! This is a great place to get good, not your typical subpar, bar food! Please note, this is a college bar environment. If you can get past that, you will enjoy yourself. I had the Samwise Egg Roles as an appetizer with ranch and Sweet Chili sauce (recommended by Brandon, our bartender) and they were phenomenal. I had the Southwestern Awesome salad with their avocado ranch. If you are a ranch person you will love their regular and avocado ranch! The Salad was huge! Diamond in the rough. My husband and I were going to grab lunch at a place in the same building but decided to walk down and saw this place. The windows are tinted so we didn't even know by seeing the name if it was a restaurant or not. So we opened the door and instantly looked and smiled at each other. It is our kind of place. We've given Tongy's a few more tries mainly because 1. There aren't very many options in town for late night food, and 2. They have TVs at some booths from which my husband and I can watch hockey. We've learned to always go with side salads and sharing cheese fries and wings. The grill is turned off at whatever hour they decide, and we just order non-grill food to avoid that issue. The food is okay, and I can sometimes even ignore the obnoxious college students. It's just that the service is so freaking terrible. We missed an entire 20 period of a game we came to watch because the waitress kept forgetting the remote. We reminded her four times. Four. Times. Don't expect a drink refill or forks. Beg as you may, the waitress will let you down. More than once, I've had to find our own cutlery at the service station. Last time, we finished eating a full hour and a half before their posted closing time. Yet, they started vacuuming while I was on my last bites. If they'd get their customer service skills down, we'd visit far more often. But as it stands now, we choose to drive another 10 miles for better options. read more

Went to Tongy's to grab a bite since it was close to Coastal Carolina. The bar was very large and had many games to play while you wait (Pool, darts, video, etc). 5/24/17 Conway is an interesting area. North of town are the trailer parks and swampy forest lands. South of town is Coastal Carolina University and the ubiquitous chain restaurants and dive bars. Tongys is an independent place that seems to cater to college age crowd with the local professionals for lunch. I didn't see many other options in the area, so I stopped in. Right away, I can tell this place is hit or miss, especially on service. There ONE GUY working the whole place: bar, restaurant, everything. I sat at the bar so I was lucky that I was taken care off rather well. There a total of 6 people at the bar as well as about 6 table of four people in the restaurant. The guy was running ragged and I know he was not doing any justice to the tables. Many of them were sitting around for at least 5 minutes before the guy even showed up to greet them. This definitely needs to change or that place will not last. I got a chicken breast that was $12 but was about $6 worth of food. The side options were pretty horrid unless you like fried food. Meal came with two sides but I had to give up both of the them to get a side salad. Service definitely needs improvement. Food was good but way overpriced, especially for lunch. read more

I have been here four times over the past two years. I am 69 years old, so not so much into college bars or college drinking. I go early in the evening, and when CCU is out of session. Happy hour is 4-8pm. You can get a very good burger for a very good price, and there are several appealing burger choices. The homemade cole slaw is a good alternative to french fries. On the most recent visit, our family sat on the outside patio. The weather was perfect, and we had a nice chat with the manager. Don't judge a book by its cover. Well my debit card was charged $28.02 and the bill was paid by any other party. Per my bank, i called and asked how can I dispute. Only to be told we do not have the card by Brandon (I believe was his name), call you bank and dispute. I called back and asked to speak to a manager, not available. Called back for owner, not there. Called back again, not there. The bartender was Chris (great) that evening and another guy. All I need is a receipt of the charges to submit to the bank. $28 is nothing but gas money. But it's the principle. I would just like the $28.02 back in cash since the card had to canceled. Just make sure you are aware of what you're doing while in this bar.
