The food wasn't bad but the service was horrendous. After an hour the waitress said our food was coming right out. After a table that placed their order more than 10 minutes after we placed ours got their food, we started worrying. 5 minutes later, the waitress said there was a mix-up on my chicken sandwich because of the large table that came in afterward. Apparently, they sat outside because inside was empty. I asked the waitress where the large table was that caused our mistake, since 3 tables that ordered after we did were served their food. The answer I got was "I NEVER SAID THERE WAS A MISTAKE!!!" I really was quite upset after spending 1.75 hours in a place waiting for two sandwich order and didn't feel the need to explain that mistake is part of the definition of mix-up. Long shopping day near Tanger outlets and we found a great deal! The mom and grandma split a shrimp po-boy and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked shrimp and enough food for us both. Absolutely delicious! The fried mushrooms had a delicious flavor and were very crispy. I loved the horseradish sauce it came with! Fish tacos were bomb af. The seasoning was perfectly balanced and the toppings added a nice texture. 10/10 would order again! I normally prefer crispier fries, but these still had a nice crisp on the outside and great flavor. Bobby's beef wrap was to die for! It has the perfect amount of meat and other fillings. It was amazing with and without the gravy that came on the side. It was also HUGE. When I ate the leftovers, it was just as good as it was when I got it fresh. The pasta salad was good too. We started off with the fried mushrooms app, which came out quite literally within 2 minutes of ordering. I am not a big fan of mushrooms, but I thought they were decent. We got both horseradish mayo and ranch and were not charged extra for both sauces. For entrees, we got the french dip and cobb sandwich. The french dip was really tasty, but I wish the meat was a little less dry and there was more of it. My dad had the cobb sandwich and really liked it - I haven't seen many sandwiches with hard boiled eggs on them, but he said it was good. We also got a generous portion of sides with our meals. Shameful! My family and I have been dining at handleys for over 6 years now and have first hand witnessed the decline of their food quality and safety. Last night however, will be the last time we EVER eat there again. There was 4 of us, we all had completely different meals, and all 4 of us have been up all night, physically throwing up, accompanied by all the nastiness that comes with food poisoning. All the portions are half the size they were just a year ago, and the quality of the meats are bottom of the barrel! Now, allow me to say" credit where it's due" service is and has always been great. Menu was traditional Irish pub fare w some American ding stuff mixed in. Wife had the quesadilla app as a meal. Was a healthy size and she liked it. I had Fish & chips. This is where it all took a turn. The fries were barely hot & had bad texture. Flimsy & bland. The fish was way over battered & cooked till the breading was rock hard & the fish was dried out. Kind of a strangely eclectic decor of sports bar meets Irish Pub. They have about 10 beers on tap, most of which were basic domestics, though they did have Smithwick's flowing. This is more of a "meat and potatoes" pub, and there's wrong with that at all. Just don't expect to have a super inventive menu at your disposal with a stellar craft beer selection; it's just not that kind of place. Bartender was very attentive and quite friendly, chatty. I doubt you'll go thirsty if you sit at the bar, and to me, this is a very, very good thing. Wife and I hit up their happy hour at about 4 pm on a Monday and the place was empty; that's all good. People started slowly filtering in over the next hour or so. Casual, yet chatty crowd sat at the bar and at various booths/tables. Folks were friendly and mostly local it seemed. Draft beers are 50 cents off during happy hour, which I believe runs from 4 to 7 Monday through Friday. Plenty of food specials on their happy hour menu. We got an order of mozzie sticks and 10 honey bbq wings, extra crispy. Both orders were just fine without issue and we'd order both again. I will say that the food came out really quick, but I believe it was because we were the only ones to have ordered food at that point. We found HH food prices to be reasonable. Not sure if they mix a great cocktail or not and they do have quite a few bottled beers, but if you're looking for an extensive craft beer draft list, Handley's will leave you disappointed. WiFi was strong and free, just like 'merica and there was lots of parking lot parking. I also found the men's bathroom to be clean, which is a must for me. We'll be back as we enjoyed ourselves. We used to come here a lot because we enjoyed sitting outside. They have a nice covered area with a lot of seating but now the tables outside are filthy so if we do come we sit inside. The Food is good but has considerably gone up in price. dinner there tonight. 7 people. no one to seat you. had to push tables together ourselves. floor hadn't been swept. ordered. waited for food. 4 meals. 2 meals and finally the last meal. staggered. while we waited for our dinners the server was dropping off checks at other tables and picking up money. my fish tacos were mostly breading. the meatloaf was scorched. so overall the meal was marginal, but the worst part was the German shepherd (not a service dog) sat at the next table. then another customer came in with 2 dogs on leashes and a bark fest ensued. why are dogs allowed in restaurants?
