My husband and I happened on this place since it was near where we were staying (within walking distance). It is apparently a mom and pop shop style environment based on the family pictures on the walls and around the hostess station. The hostess/waitress was friendly and responsive. The food was average. It was good-- I think it was maybe a bit overpriced as well, but we were paying for convenience. I would say we had a nice experience. This is a tale of two dinners.... We stopped in last week and had a very nice dinner with great service. I had the special, NY strip and shrimp, with collard greens. All well seasoned and cooked. Wife had parmesan crusted chicken, also liked it. The topper was a four shot Rabbit Hole whiskey tasting flight for $25. Wife took the key lime mousse back with us for dessert, was delicious. Fast forward a few days. We figured we would stop in again since the first experience was so good. We both got steaks this time, me a ribeye and her a filet. Seasoning on the steaks seemed different, but was okay. Very thing we asked the server seemed to flustered her, she didn't seem very familiar with the menu or drink options. I ordered the whiskey flight after dinner (still on the menus), the server went to the bar with our order and was told by the bartender they they're not doing that anymore because "it's too expensive". Going downhill... To end the meal, we ordered the Oreo mousse. Got home and my wife took a bite, was peanut butter mousse. Thankfully, we are not allergic to peanuts, or there could have been a bigger issue. Sorry for the diatribe. In conclusion, I'm giving 3 stars. I had written a review of 5 stars after the first visit but had to rewrite after the second experience. They could be very good, but if they're this inconsistent over a four days span, I doubt we will be back. read more

Very hot and stuffy inside. Zero wait time for a party of 14 which we appreciated. The wait staff seemed stressed out and impatient, but they ended up getting the job done. The alcoholic beverages were weak and watered down. Had the roasted Brussel sprout appetizer which was delicious! Salad was okay. None of the dressings are made in-house. My shrimp Alfredo was subpar. I've made better at my own house. Had to add salt and Parmesan cheese to make it better; it had six small shrimp in it. Other entrees at the table were mediocre. What a pleasant surprise located in the condo where we were staying. We went the first night strictly for the convenience. The room is lively and comfortable with ocean views. Our food was delicious and all of the staff were friendly and efficient. We liked it so much we tried to go back the next two nights but unfortunately, they were closed on Sunday and Mondays. I don't know if I will ever find myself back in Myrtle Beach but if so, this will definitely be a stopping point. read more

We arrived around 5:30 with no wait time and seated immediately. Our wine ($6 generous pours) was delivered immediately and our order taken. The restaurant began to fill up very soon after that, but our steaks were presented in a very short time. Steaks were tender and well seasoned. Waitress was very attentive even with the filling dining room. Would definitely go back again. A little hard to find as we were not familiar with the area. Toss just about any restaurant recommendations to the side and replace it with Don't Get It Twisted! Went the other night and didn't have our hopes up when we walked in. That all changed quickly! Our server was super nice and informative. Appetizer (onion rings) came out and were the best all 5 of us have ever had. Next, the main course. We all ordered something different and one meal was better than the next. And finally, Dessert...I capitalized Dessert because it deserves it. Chocolate brownie with their signature frozen Bavarian Cream (like a homemade ice cream... but better!) wad insanely delicious. And no little Itty bitty portion (dinner or dessert)! The brownie was a good 5" x 5" x 2" thick. Service was great as well. The owner/chef came out to say hi, and we fell in love. This will be our new go-to for sure. read more

Apathetic service, uninspired menu, inflated prices...this is basically the restaurant you would find at a Hilton Garden Inn off the interstate. ABOVE ALL ELSE do not even think about bringing children under 12 to this establishment. They do not have a children's menu and when you ask for basic accommodations for a small child's palette, they take great offense and/or are confused about how to make basic French fries or mac & cheese that would be acceptable to a six-year-old. Given how many outstanding restaurants are within a mile of this location, there is never any reason to ever patronize this place...even if you are staying at this property. read more

Fries were outstanding, crisp tender and so well seasoned they needed nothing else. Hubby said the cheesesteak was every bit as good as that we had in Philadelphia!! Nothing was overpowering and you tasted everything on the sandwich, onions, peppers, cheese meat and bread. Cheese sticks were perfect and served with a thick, Parmesan topped marinara. So I sent my husband down there (we are staying at the resort where the restaurant is located) to place the order to go. When my husband got there he asked where could he place the to go order they sent him to the bar. The bartender proceeded to tel my husband they were too busy to do a to go order. That type of service is truly unacceptable. Wether they are short staffed or not. My husband was willing to wait on the food no matter how long it took. Ate here tonight, and it was not an enjoyable experience. It took close to 30 minutes before we got our drinks, a beer and an old fashion. The old fashion tasted like it was just whiskey and water, probably from the large amount of ice cubes in the glass. The waiter could not answer basic questions about any of the food, such as how it was prepared or ingredients in the food. Example, one of the appetizers for $10 just says "Brussel sprouts." When we asked the waiter how were the brussels sprouts prepared or what ingredients are in there, he said he did not know and would have to go ask someone. This was a common theme for much of what we asked while trying to order. On the plus side, the food came out very quickly in comparison to the drinks but it was obvious that everything has either been microwaved or under a heat lamp because the plates and everything we're too hot to touch or eat for an extremely long time. My husband ordered blackened salmon but it was not actually blackened, just covered in some kind of seasoning, was very over cooked and came apart in thick sheets. I got the chicken Parmesan. Other than the fact again it was microwaved and too hot to eat for awhile, the chicken actually didn't taste bad but the pasta that came with it was inedible with some kind of red sauce that had no flavor to it. Finally, and not sure why, but the name of the place is "Don't get twisted" but when we got our check the folder it was in, had the name of "The melting Pot" on it. For what we paid for the entrées as well as my drink, I would expect better. read more

Nothing special about this place. It is not an easy location to get to. The prices aren't ant better or worse than other steakhouses. If you're going to pay this much you expect a better presentation, service and attention. They charge an extra 4% for using a credit card, really?? Tucked away in the last hotel/condo building on Shore Drive, this is a gem! Food is absolutely amazing. Bartenders are a rare find and I wholly suggest you sit at the bar! They have daily specials and everything is amazing. Just had the steak and shrimp with house made cocktail sauce. You can't go wrong with whatever you get. The pork chops are awesome, and the Sin Dip is a twist on spinach dip. You have to try it. Just go and enjoy! read more

We have been hearing how great the Twisted Restaurant is so, on our last night in Myrtle Beach, we had dinner there. Don't waste your money! My ribeye had to be sent back three times. I ordered it well done and even on the fourth try, it was pink in the middle. The sad thing is, the steak was only about 1/4" thick. Additionally, it was drowned in garlic. A little garlic would have been fine, but this was definitely too much. Then, when the bill was to be paid, they want cash (they charge 4% extra if you pay by card). The bill ended in 30 cents. I paid with a $100 bill. When the change was brought back, they had rounded up to the next dollar - the 30 cents became another dollar on the bill. Needless to say, we will not be back even if we do come back to Myrtle Beach. read more

We are so fortunate to have this place just a few minute's walk from our condo. The location is perfect for Shore Drive locals and for visiting guests staying nearby. And if your not a local or staying on SD it is worth the drive! The perfect way to end an evening is by watching the sunset in the main dining area and enjoying a cocktail or two - I recommend the fresh blueberry lemon drop martini!
