My family ate here for my birthday. They offer a free meal on your actual birthday with a photo ID. This a local place so we did not have to wait. Our server was awesome. All of his recommendations were spot on. They give you a smoked tuna dip and crackers when you sit down. It was tasty but the waiter suggested adding some hot sauce and made it even better. I had a mango margarita and it was very good. For my meal, I had the drunken crab platter. It was similar to a steam bucket but on a plate. They did not skimp on the seafood. The fish was moist and the shrimp were very tasty. The crab and scallops were also delicious. I enjoyed my sides of potato casserole and broccoli with beer cheese. I highly recommend these sides. For dessert, I had the key lime pie. It was nice and tart. I would come back here again.

    Bread Pudding with meal!

Good food and service good. Food was not up to temperature. Good dessert with the meal. Reasonably priced!

Excellent service food was great. They play great 70's background music. Davis is a kickass bartender. Don Loves Ponise.

There wasn't a long wait and the waitress couldn't have been nicer! We sat in a booth, my family of 5. The hush puppies and shrimp appetizer were amazing but I was highly disappointed when i ordered a $15 salad and got ok salmon with not much glaze or flavoring and iceberg lettuce disguised as a salad. If it were a side salad i could see using iceberg, but an entree salad that comes out like this?! Come on! Iceberg is trash, we all know it has no nutritional value at this point. I asked for a side of veggies to make up for it and was brought out steamed, not seasoned vegetable medley of broccoli and i can't even remember what else. very disappointed, don't order this, stick to the fried options, they clearly can't handle veggies or salads.

My "medium" steak. Full of fat also

Had Sunday brunch here and it was very good. Dinner tonight was terrible! Steak not cooked and full of fat. Lobster was mushy. Very disappointed.

Delicious, reasonably priced seafood. My fried shrimp plate was great; very generous servings.

We picked up takeout! Very tasty mahi mahi. Flounder was okay. The hushpuppies were the best by far. Quick and fast takeout service.

For my main, I went with the Lobster roll and fries. The lobster roll was also very good. A good amount of lobster meat and the bread was very soft and held the meat well. Only complaint was the fries. They were bland and cooked unevenly. Will skip those next time but otherwise a great meal.

A table of 4 sat a few minutes before we did and a table of 6 sat probably 10 minutes after them. Our table and the table of 6 were served before the group of 4 who had to ask a bus boy for service. Yikes! Server was sweet besides the empty non alcoholic beverage glasses she did not fill when our food came out. She didn't come back to check in on us until my husband's 6 bites of dinner were already gone. I asked if the portion is usually that small (especially in comparison to the significantly cheaper - MASSIVE PORTIONS we saw being served all around us) and she politely said "yes. typically, sometimes a little bigger." As someone with a culinary arts degree & kitchen background I was very very very disappointed on the portion size of his entree for the price & sizes of surrounding entrees being served (that were cheaper or around the same price) and it literally ruined my entire experience. A smidge dramatic but the God's honest truth! Great view, beautiful patio, friendly service - just extremely disappointed. I planned to order both of us dessert and immediately skipped out & asked for the check when the server finally came over to ask how our food was. This review is hot & cold because my experience was. Would I recommend it? I'd recommend going for the best oysters in Myrtle and a clean, friendly facility - but that's about all I can say! PS - $3 "destination fee?" Clearly I'm not from around here, but it was the only restaurant from north Myrtle down to Murrells to charge us a fee for eating there as a tourist.

The only slight negative for me is that the remoulade tasted too sweet for my liking, but that's such a minor thing. Can't wait to come back to Pawleys and come here!

Those that had Shrimp and Grits commented that the grits were fantastic but the shrimp (that were ordered grilled) had cajun seasoning on them like blacked shrimp - which was not what they were expecting. I had the She Crab Soup followed by a nightly special, Red Drum stuffed with a crab cake. The soup was OK but I didn't actually find any crab in it and it was kinda bland. The Drum was just awful - I should have sent it back but being in a large group I didn't want to hold everyone up. The stuffed Drum was the most expensive thing on the menu. It was tough, dry and WAY overcooked. The top of the Crab cake stuffing was burnt black. I suspect the dish had been cooked a day or two ago and simply reheated. Our waitress was wonderful, fast, efficient and got everyone's order right. She even put the TV on the Atlanta Braves game for us. I would probably try this place again, but I'd just order something fried.

We received immediate service from the crackerjack and very personable bartender (James) who we had met previously when stopping in for a nightcap from an evening out several weeks prior. At that time, we promised him we would be back to try the place for dinner. The owners have put heart and soul into decor, ambience, service, and food offerings with daily fresh seafood specials, along with other specials that we encountered that evening on "Prime Rib Wednesday". The bar is a tribute to the late NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt (one of the co-owners is his doppelgänger), and he and his lovely wife stopped by our table more than once to warmly welcome us and to get to know us a little bit (we live less than 1/2 mile up the street from the restaurant). They also graced me with a complimentary set of birthday beads for fun neckwear, a piece of chocolate birthday cake that we shared, and participated with Jamie in singing Happy Birthday. Both enjoyable and humbling at the same time. My wife had the Grouper special with asparagus and a baked sweet potato. I had a rack of ribs that truly were "fall off the bone" tender and flavorful. I also had a baked potato (good) and Cole Slaw (delicious). I found pricing to be very reasonable for what we ordered (including 2 glasses of wine each) and overall a good solid value. Combining all the key elements of ambience, staff interaction (professional with a couple of sides of good humor), the warmth extended by the owners, the food quality and pricing, we will definitely be back - and not only for special occasions. Well done Palm 33!!!! Thank you for a memorable birthday restaurant experience!!
