King prime rib and Seafood Platter

We love Salt Water Grille. Simple meals that satisfy and friendly staff. We were first excited that they offer Prime Rib Fridays and Saturdays. They started a Thursday night all you can eat BBQ buffet. Ribs, pulled pork, chopped pork and BBQ chicken. The sides change a bit from week to week but favorites like collard greens, sweet potatoes, beans, squash, potato salad, fries and hush puppies are some of the fare as well as rolls and a cobbler or pudding. They have other buffet days (I think Sundays too-check schedule) There is a bar attached and you can eat at either the bar or restaurant side. There is usually the news or sports on the televisions on the restaurant side. In the summer you may need a light sweater as by dinner the air conditioning finally catches up with the heat during the humid summer days. Nice family restaurant

This restaurant is designed only for the Caucasian aka White people in the area. They don't respect African American nor Hispanic or Latino..I dined in there for the first time last week and I was treated like my ancestors during the Jim Crow era. I was seated and for a whole hour, I was never checked on, drink cup wasn't filled or even paid any attention. I'm a hard working Black Man and I've never fully had this kind of blatant racism brought directly to me in all the days of my life. I will never eat from such fish established and the food taste like trash. Lettuce is the best thing you could get when working in there.

We had a fantastic experience from food to service! Upon arrival we entered on the dining/buffet side of the restaurant. There was only one table of diners at that time and the buffet was not open. We decided to head over to the bar side and it was poppin' . We grabbed a couple tables close to the bar for our party of 8 and we were greeted by a friendly server. We ordered a round of drinks and placed our orders. Drinks were served quickly and food came out hot and fresh! Our server went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. The hush puppies with cinnamon butter were absolutely delicious! Nice little place for some quick, fresh, fried seafood

We went for a motorcycle ride since the weather was so nice. We saw this place and decided to try it out for lunch. It is a popular "locals" place which quickly filled up for lunch. They have a buffet or you can order from the menu. The buffet changes daily. We wanted to sample a little of everything. The fried chicken was very good. Crispy and not greasy with moist meat inside. The chicken and dumplings and beef stew was also good. I tried the fried chicken gizzard which I never had before. Not really something for me. For sides we tried the potato salad, mashed potato w/gravy, mac-n-cheese and pasta salad. Also very good. There were vegetables as well but we didn't try them. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Prices were also good, buffet today was $13 per person. We will come back again when in the area.

We visited on Wednesday June 5th of 2024. We had the cheeseburger and I had fries and my wife had the sweet potato fries. Our burgers were really good and cooked perfectly. We had tea to drink. They served us some hush puppies with honey butter that were very good. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Uploading pictures of our food and the menu.

Flounder basket and BLT and sweet potato fries!

A bit disappointed they took shrimp and grits off the menu! But the service was great and the fried flounder and coleslaw were excellent! Hushpuppies a bit bland and doughy but both types of fries were also good!

We're vacationing in Cherry Grove (North Myrtle) and found Salt Water Grille on Google. We are so glad we did. This place is a true gem that is away from the hustle and bustle of Myrtle, and so worth the drive! The service was so friendly from the moment we walked in the door. Everything we had was delicious. The hush puppies were delicious and were served with amazing butter that tasted like it had cinnamon and maybe a little bit of honey. So good!! My sons had the kids grilled cheese sandwich and kids chicken tenders and they both loved their meals... That speaks volumes because my kids are so picky! I had the grilled pork chops and they're probably the best ones I've ever had. They tasted like they had been marinated because they were so moist and so tender. And they were huge! My husband had a grilled chicken breast, which he enjoyed. My dad had a BBQ sandwich and my mom had a BLT, which they both said were very good. We had no complaints. The prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back on our next vacation. I highly recommend this place if you're on vacation anywhere near Myrtle Beach! It's a must try!

Food was good and portion size plentiful. I had the pork prime rib eye which was fantastic, tender and juicy. The fries are hand cut, not my favorite. The slaw was good, (on the sweet side for those slaw enthusiasts out there). My wife had the Fish and chips and opted for a baked potato instead of the fries (good choice). The cod fish was very good and she liked the hush puppies as well. Service was fantastic. It's not a fancy restaurant but a very good local spot away from the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach.

We arrived around 5:15 on a Thursday. We did not have a reservation , but we were seated right away. Darren was our attendant and he was funny and definitely full of mischief, in a good way. I forgot to get a picture of the bread and softened butter, that had a bumblebee image done on the butter. The bread was wonderful and it is made in house daily. I enjoyed the Center Cut, Faroe Island Salmon Fillet - Mint and Dill Encrusted, Fire-Roasted Tomato and Feta Couscous, Tzatziki Drizzle. My husband had the NY Strip, cooked perfectly, with a large, loaded backed potato. This is where Darren's mischief really came into to play, he brought out the dessert menu. I had the crème brûlée, the topping was done to perfection. My husband had the Chocolate Lava Cake. He said it was very rich, with the cake being just at the done stage so it was really warm and gooey (his words). This is a lovely and warm place to eat. Would definitely dress a bit nicer next time.

We love the fried calamari with peppers & the Surf & Turf with the Main Lobster Tail. Asked the waiter if the Lobster Tail was from Maine, he checked and said yes. When our calamari came, it was not made as it was in the past, and was tough, no bananna peppers and was bland. When our dinner arrived, we had a spiny southern lobster that was mushy and stuck to the shell. It was not a Main Lobster as we were told. We were dissapointed that the quality of the seafood was poor & the prices went up! Needless to say, I will not return to this establishment. I will post pics of what we use to get, compared to what we received last night.

Kicked off the meal with some grouper bites. Wasn't sure what to expect from them, but pleasantly surprised. They were lightly battered. The grouper was light and flaky and really delicious. They give you a sauce called "Yum Yum" so dipping them in the sauce was a nice touch. Kicked off the meal with a nice fresh side salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Nicely done. Went with the blackened salmon dinner on rice. The server was terrific and very attentive and the meal came out quick and hot. The blackened salmon wasn't overly blackened. The fish was not fishy tasting. The rice and the steamed veggies were both terrific. Slide a cocktail in your hand and just kick back and relax. This is an excellent place.

My granddaughter ordered Chicken pasta-she said it had a strange taste and didn't like it. I tasted it and there was a strong peppery taste that was off putting. I had Raw oysters which were fine and blackened grouper which was overcooked but okay. Just not as good as I heard and a price of $120 for 2 adults and 1 child.

There was also live music playing, which really brought the place to life and made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. For food, we ordered the shrimp meal and the gumbo soup. The gumbo was delicious and packed with meat, very hearty and flavorful. My only complaint is that I asked for less meat due to an upset stomach, but they weren't able to accommodate that, which I understand. The crackers served with the soup also tasted a bit old and off. The shrimp, however, was very tasty and enjoyable. We attempted to visit LuLus on Thursday, but they were closed due to A/C issues. We came back on Friday and were glad we did. The staff was incredibly friendly and kind from the moment we arrived. There was a sign outside saying they weren't going to be opening that day, or were opening late, or something to that effect. We were short on time, so we started looking around for somewhere else to eat at Barefoot Landing, pretty disappointed that we couldn't go to our favorite spot. That said, I saw there was a new place called Lulu's right around the corner. I checked out their menu, and it looked like a fun place to eat. The pictures of the food looked pretty good, so off we went. Upon arriving, the first thing that struck me was the big, open atmosphere of the establishment. It wasn't very cozy, but the hostess did greet us in a friendly manner and took us to our seats--which ended up being one of the worst aspects of this restaurant. I have never been more uncomfortable sitting in a restaurant in my life. I know that's a weird gripe, but these were some of the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in. They hurt so bad. My kids were seated on the benches across from us, and they could barely even reach the table. My wife switched places with my son, and the benches were covered in what looked like footprints and dirt from people standing on them. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We started off with drinks. We all got soft drinks, and every single one of them was flat. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, and they were OK. The dipping sauce was great. My wife and son ordered the tacos, which they said were bland, tasteless, and pretty underwhelming. My daughter ordered a kids' cheeseburger, took one bite, and said it was disgusting. Unfortunately for me, I ordered one of the most expensive things on the menu: a seafood entrée where you get to pick two items. I picked the fish and oysters, both fried. Some of the oysters tasted like they were kind of rotten--very fishy. The fish itself was OK, but the breading they used was absolutely atrocious. It tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in weeks. The fry on the fish was dark and had an almost burnt, overly salty taste to it. Absolutely terrible. As we were about to leave, a live band started playing, and they sounded pretty nice. I wish they had been playing while we were still eating, but by that point we were so ready to get out of there. We were incredibly disappointed. The real shocker came when I got the check. For our family of four, it was almost $110 before the tip. This food was in no way worth that kind of price. I honestly would've rather gone to a fast-food restaurant. This place gets two stars simply because the staff we encountered were friendly and because of the live music. Otherwise, this is one of the most boring, aesthetically unappealing restaurants I've ever been in, with some of the worst overpriced food I've ever had. Never again. We definitely won't be back.
