Wife and daughter took me there for Father's Day. Our neighbors went also. We had a great time. The place is large and comfortable. It was busy, because of the day, so we could not get a table outside. But we did get a nice window table looking out over the Inlet. Beautiful views. Our Waitress was Christal, hope I spelled that correctly. She was attentive, upbeat and knew her job. She was able to provide us with suggestions. And made us feel appreciated. Because there was five of us, I won't go into what each person had. But we were all pleased with our meals and cocktails. The portions are generous, and the quality superb. Husband brought me here two decades ago and now we are back in town for another meal! Our server, Mandy, was outstanding. Hush puppies with butter on the house? Yes, please! Crab cake sandwich with green beans for me and she crab soup and Triggerfish sandwich with green beans for husband. Food was outstanding and portions were plentiful! We visited here 2 years ago and couldn't wait to get back. It wasn't as great an experience but still good. We had a couple hairs in a salad so they did replace that. And the special had a red sauce that tasted like spaghetti sauce. However the risotto and the fish on the dish were good I just didn't care for the spaghetti sauce flavor. Wow! Amazing food, exceptional service, waterfront views that can't be beat!! Found this gem while in Murrells Inlet and it was by far some of the most delicious food we have had! Back again in murrell's inlet, and drunken Jack's. I got the chicken tenders and fries. I'm allergic to seafood and had the burger last time so my options were a little bit limited. I was a little skeptical about the Tenders but they were actually pretty good. The flavor was good the tenders were juicy and not too much breading which I like. The atmosphere is nice and you can sit by the inlet or inside. The service was fast and nice. The best time to go is between 4 and 5. After five is when it gets crowded. read more

It was a long, wait. We split a large seafood platter.. The flounder was cooked perfectly but plain, no salt the broiled shrimp were cooked perfectly again, but no flavor very plain not even salt. We were seated immediately at 530 on a Tuesday. Server was friendly, attentive, and timely. Restaurant was relaxed and spacious. I didn't feel like I was crammed up on other tables. Chef Casey's Risotto was very good, but I will say the risotto was more "lukewarm" than hot. I probably wouldn't order it again for $40+, but it was worth trying for sure. I heard they had the best hush puppies in town so had to come by and check them out. They were tasty with the sweet butter, but were more like a sweet doughnut than a hush puppy to me but my wife and son love them. The boom boom shrimp was delicious. Very large and just spicy enough. We visited Drunken Jack's on a holiday weekend shortly after lunchtime and were fortunate enough to get bar seating overlooking the boardwalk and water. While there's plenty of seating inside (that makes you feel like you're inside a yacht), there's plenty of outdoor seating, so enjoy the Al fresco dining experience. Our hostess was very attentive and friendly, and our food came out right away. Every table is served complimentary hush puppies, which were delicious and served with honey butter. For my entree, I had the blackened triggerfish sandwich, which was substantial and served with French fries and a side of coleslaw. Absolutely wonderful. Easy parking for the handicap out front. We walked on the ramp as I used a walker. Staff greeted us inside. All of my senses were hit at once with music , the delicious aroma of fantastic dishes prepared and a beautiful view of the Creek. The staff helped us with the lift to get upstairs. It was very safe. Brooklyn was our server and she was both professional and friendly. We loved her sense of humor too. Cory took my walker and placed it where ever walkers go during the meal with the promos to return it when needed. We placed our requests and the food arrived quickly. It was perfect in every way. Late review for a visit a year ago. Arrived late one evening. A bit of a wait for seating but got a drink at the bar while waiting. Eventually seated on deck in the area overlooking water. Excellent service. Couldn't resist risotto dish but since I'm not the biggest mahi fan I had them substitute grouper. It was to die for!!! Can't remember what hubby got but he liked it also. One of the few places in the area offer vegetarian options. Wait was 1 hour on Monday night but well worth it!! Ask for Meg, she was an incredible server, so sweet and made our night! We are visiting family from out of town and they took us here. Such a cute place....the inside looks like the interior of a ship. Very clean. The staff is friendly. Marcella was our server and she was perfect. The wait on a Monday at 5:20 pm was under 30 minutes. The restaurant brings warm hush puppies and whipped butter to your table, instead of bread. Great food. The place gets extremely crowded and the wait times are insane during the dinner hour, and reservations aren't allowed if I'm not mistaken. I would recommend going during the lunch hour if your schedule permits. We went on a Tuesday night, was told there would be a 45 min to 1 hour wait. After an hour, my husband inquired about the wait time and where we were on the list, the hostess told him she said we would have to wait another hour. There is no place worth a 2 hr wait. We left and came the next day at lunch, right as they opened, zero wait, same great food and amazing service. read more

Honestly I wouldn't come here even for drinks. Waited over an hour and a half for a party of 8 on a Sunday at 6pm. The staff was very rude to our table. The food was all fried and bland. Just a note to people who do go, they add a tip to your bill for tables over 6 but they don't tell you so just be careful and check when closing out your check. The inside is very dark, if I was looking for a view and the same kind of food but better I'd go to dead dog where they also have music usually. read more

Tried for first time. Restaurant building is really impressive and nicely decorated. Inside and outside seating - overlooks Inlet area. Service was good overall but they did get my order wrong. Had to wait while they corrected. Food was not that impressive to me. Crab cakes were basic fried and not nice lump crab meat. Fried flounder had heavy breading but was good. I have been visiting this restaurant for decades, there are wonderful memories with 3 generations of my family. I had not been here in 9 years so I was holding my breath about how this would be. I was not disappointed! The food, atmosphere and service were all awesome! We were there on a Sunday night, it was busy but not crazy. We chose to eat indoors because, we are fans of air conditioning over views. :D These are truly the best sweet corn dodgers (hush puppies) on the planet! (Well, that is an exaggeration, but I have never been able to replicate them.) Back in the 1970s and 80s lots of places had good ones but it seems to be a dying art. I had a wonderful Old Fashioned, it was great that you could pick the bourbon/whisky you preferred for your drink. The hubby had a frozen margarita which he enjoyed. I had the fried oysters with mayonnaise based coleslaw. The oysters were amazing perfectly cooked with a well seasoned, but not overly thick coating. The hubby had a shrimp Po Boy that had a ton of flavorful creek shrimp on it. He said it was great! We were too stuffed for desert. We did wander down to the bar after dinner just to look around, they have updated the furniture but not the bartender. He has been there since the 90s in the the mini bottle days IYKYK. As I was buying my tee shirts (my old one is 22 years old and has some holes) on the way out the door I was able to talk to some long time staff and find out that this place is still owned by the family that started it and the head chef has been there for the last 20 years, so this explains the consistency. I know this place has lovers and haters....but I am on the LOVE side. read more
