I usually get my food delivered through GrubHub. The food and prices are always great. However GrubHub is slow getting it here. I had blackened flounder and added blackened shrimp with fries and slaw. Delicious seafood at reasonable prices. I hope GrubHub gets it's act together. read more

On The Half Shell is a place we have passed many times. We decided to stop and grab a meal. The restaurant has a lot of tables and chairs, a lot of seating at the inside bar and a whole section outside around the tiki bar. Seems like it would be a cool place to hang out for the bar scene The ambiance is casual relaxing, and the decor is almost rustic. There is also a sushi bar on the left when you walk in. We started with an order of calamari, was was really good (8/10). We also split a chicken quesadilla, which was also good (8/10). For the main dish, we all ordered different sushi rolls. They were ok (6/10). One thing we were disappointed with is the service. Our server was nice, but she didn't seem too interested in being there. On The Half Shell is pretty good place to eat, and the bar seemed to be hopping. But, the service could be better. Overall, I'd give On The Half Shell a 6/10. read more

During my Thanksgiving visit, I met my mom and her friends for a quick bite to eat at a sports bar with a dive-like atmosphere. I asked if they could make me an old-fashioned, but they didn't have all the necessary ingredients. They tried substituting with a Manhattan, and I'll give them three stars for their effort. The bartender recommended white tuna, so I got that as well as salmon nigiri. Unbelievable! 5 stars! Melted in my mouth! The problem was, the place was so loud that the bartender and I could not hear each other. Also, there were many drunk people there. It smelled like beer. It was frustrating and annoying. Another fabulous meal. We went during a busy spell, but our waitress was extremely pleasant being so busy. She was alone for a bit with over 24 people in the establishment at one time. Although it was very busy, it did not take away from the service. The food did not disappoint. Seafood was very fresh. We had fried oysters, mussels and calamari. We will return again soon. On the Half Shell's lack of respect for those trying to avoid the Coronavirus suggests to me that they are either obtuse, inept, or indifferent towards their patrons. On Memorial Day weekend the place was hopping, and no one was wearing masks, gloves, or cleaning common areas. It was if they were anticipating Kenny Chesney to show up and sing, "No Mask, No Gloves, No Problem." I ordered fried oysters and a basket of clams (which are 1/2 price before 3 PM). Overall, the food was hot and plentiful--the oysters were quite plump, too. Yummy. French fries were just OK. Since the place is pretty much dialed in for the good ol' boys throwing caution to the wind, I'll keep moving on down the road. Nothing to whirl about here. read more

We are visiting from out of town. The "broccoli slaw" on the fish tacos is tiny cubes of what appears to be steamed broccoli. The cheese is very obviously from a bag. The ketchup for the fries tastes like it came from Dollar Tree. The poor waitress is covering this large dining room by herself. My family member said the fried platter and quesadilla are "Ok." Omg loved this little local bar! Stayed by my cousins in Murells Inlet and this place was with in walking distance. Loved it so much, I went twice during my short stay. This spot is truly your local hang out but had such a good vibe, everyone was so nice and the wait staff were super friendly and attentive. Ordered the buffalo shrimp and side salad for the first run in there and the portions were huge! Also, CHEAP. A side salad which was in fact the size of a reg or lg sized one you may get in the diner was only $2.50! And the shrimp was like $7.50! Amazing and they were really good, enjoyed them with my beer! Second run in I had ordered to go: the grouper fingers, side salad, shrimp quesadilla... all amazing! The grouper fingers tasted so light and fresh even though they were fried, they had really good flavor and didn't even really need sauce for dipping. I've had excellent oysters here in the past so i brought my visiting sister there for some. i was surprised that they were not good this time.. a little bit brownish and didnt have good flavor. Clearly not fresh! My sister was too polite to complain, so i wound up paying $48 for 2 dozen. Went to dinner at this restaurant last night. There was a large party there and we were a large party. It took over an hour for me and my husband to get our food (approximately 40 minutes after the other people at our table). The food was good but I was disappointed that they didn't offer us a discount or a drink on the house or anything. I mean just a little gesture of goodwill would have gone a long way. We come here annually and I guess they don't appreciate our business. A token to say "we apologize for the substantial delay" have a drink on us or here's a discount on your bill or here's a free desert would have been very thoughtful as well as a smart business move. Secondly, when you walk in , you get slammed with an odor of mildew covered up with sanitizer. We ordered a dozen oysters and received 10 but were charged for 12. They took it off the bill when we mentioned it. The fish bites were good. The soft beef taco benign. Not worth the $2.50. The waitress was cordial but that's where it stopped. Both fish and scallops were cooked perfectly. My wife was equally impressed with her six scallop entree. The meal was just enough but left room for a little more. I ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sunday. This dessert was so good that the guy sitting next to me (who had been drinking the whole time) ordered one. I had a tea and my wife had just water.
