Aquarium in Dining Room
Lee W.

For 77 years this family run restaurant has been serving up fresh local seafood. As a kid my husband spent many summers eating here, so while on vacation Lee's was at the top of our list of things to do in Myrtle Beach. This place was charming with good old fashion southern hospitality. Service was great & there's lots of free parking. Note, if you're a group of 15 or more you can make a reservation, otherwise it's first come first serve. If you're a large party like us I recommend calling a couple weeks ahead, because they're limited on taking more than a couple reservations per night. Our meals consisted of seafood & steak dishes. We started with the most wonderful hush puppies I've ever tasted...served with honey butter! I also had the Fried Seafood Platter which included Flounder, Oysters, Scallops, Deviled Crab & Fantail Shrimp. This dish was really delicious & everything was cooked perfectly with huge portions. I ended up taking half home. What a fantastic time & meal. I can see why Lee's was voted Best Seafood in South Carolina by Southern Living Magazine. This was one of our vacation highlights!

Seafood combo (small)

Hostess and server were friendly. Place was super crowded on a Friday around 5:30. The hush puppies that came to the table with the honey butter weren't bad-they were nice and hot, but we prefer the ones at Dead Dog and Drunken Jack's. I had a black cherry hard cider-they rotate seasonal flavors. $6 was a decent price. I had the small seafood combo with broiled flounder, fantail shrimp, and deviled crab. The flounder had the skin on which was soggy and unpleasant, and the fish was a bit overcooked. I enjoyed the shrimp and the deviled crab was nostalgic. It came with a side, which my baked potato was fine, and a salad. The homemade ranch was delicious. My friend had the grilled salmon and enjoyed it. Food was serviceable, but none of us at the table felt it was anything special.

On a bustling Thursday night after a big rainstorm walked in at 5:45pm and was told the wait for my family if 5 would be a 20 minutes. After we sat the bar for 5 minutes our table was ready. We grabbed our drinks and headed to the table and the creek shrimp that we ordered on the happy hour special was brought to our table, hot and crispy. We had reservations for a dolphin cruise so we ordered soon after we were sat. My wife and I ordered the combination seafood platter with flounder, deviled crab & fantail shrimp and 2 sides (pimento cheese grits and the veggie of the day- buttered beans. Kane was our waiter and his service was great. Drinks stayed full and food served promptly. Good meal, great service in a classic southern welcoming restaurant.

Lee's is a great seafood spot in Myrtle - I thought the food was super. A lot of fried items, but it's possible to order more than fried things. (e.g., she-crab soup, grilled oysters, etc.) The service was fast & friendly; and they were busy. The ambiance is bright and casual with lots of multi-generational families there. Yep, clearly the grandkids and grandparents in attendance :)

Flounder and grilled fantail shrimp

The service and food were great perfect portions no take home. We each got a side salad with homemade ranch yummy, fantail grilled shrimp and flounder with a yummy baked potato . Steak fried shrimp and coleslaw ( which was okay) some of the best onions rings. Hush puppies were just ok little strange airy I would say honey butter good. Breaded fried shrimp outstanding. Location was perfect great parking. Price $$$ 2 dinners 2 waters total with tip 108.00 I wanted seafood

I was craving a good seafood meal before we left the area and Lee's was exactly what i wanted. The red crab Chowder was scrumptious. My husband got the she-crab soup. It was a little too thick but had very good flavor. The complimentary fritters and honey butter they bring to the table is way better than those I've had anywhere else. I had the blackened grouper which was moist and prepared properly. My husband opted for grilled shrimp and ate them all even though he doesn't like much seafood. Get the onion rings as a side and youll thank me later! Our waiter was very attentive despite being very busy with other large groups. A bit pricey but we knew that going in and feel that we got a qquality seafood dinner in Paris with the price. Would definitely go back!

Voted Best Seafood in South Carolina by Southern Living Magazine for a reason! We went early, around 4:35. They have early specials between 4:30 and 5:30 PM. Prices are great! Service was timely! We were seated immediately and drinks and hush puppies brought out promptly. Our server was attentive and very busy with other tables, too. I had the fried creek shrimp with grilled asparagus and side salad. The asparagus was $1.95 extra, but well worth it. The vegetable of the day was crowder peas, but the asparagus was more appealing. My son had the fried platter with fries, and my wife had the broiled platter with grilled asparagus and side salad. The side salads had banana peppers in them and gave them an extra kick. The sweet tea was excellent! To top off the meal my son ordered the chocolate chocolate chip cake and my wife ordered the cobbler of the day which was peach. I tasted both, and they were great! The chocolate cake had a ganache/glaze on it that tasted just like the kind my mom made. In my opinion, the cobbler was more like a crumble but still delicious!! The restaurant has been in business since 1948, and I really like the classic decor and some of the nostalgic enlarged photos on the wall. They also still have the original neon sign out front along with one more reminiscent of New England. When we arrived, it wasn't that busy, but by the time we left, it was packed! Great food, service, atmosphere, and prices!

For my main, I went with the Lobster roll and fries. The lobster roll was also very good. A good amount of lobster meat and the bread was very soft and held the meat well. Only complaint was the fries. They were bland and cooked unevenly. Will skip those next time but otherwise a great meal.

A table of 4 sat a few minutes before we did and a table of 6 sat probably 10 minutes after them. Our table and the table of 6 were served before the group of 4 who had to ask a bus boy for service. Yikes! Server was sweet besides the empty non alcoholic beverage glasses she did not fill when our food came out. She didn't come back to check in on us until my husband's 6 bites of dinner were already gone. I asked if the portion is usually that small (especially in comparison to the significantly cheaper - MASSIVE PORTIONS we saw being served all around us) and she politely said "yes. typically, sometimes a little bigger." As someone with a culinary arts degree & kitchen background I was very very very disappointed on the portion size of his entree for the price & sizes of surrounding entrees being served (that were cheaper or around the same price) and it literally ruined my entire experience. A smidge dramatic but the God's honest truth! Great view, beautiful patio, friendly service - just extremely disappointed. I planned to order both of us dessert and immediately skipped out & asked for the check when the server finally came over to ask how our food was. This review is hot & cold because my experience was. Would I recommend it? I'd recommend going for the best oysters in Myrtle and a clean, friendly facility - but that's about all I can say! PS - $3 "destination fee?" Clearly I'm not from around here, but it was the only restaurant from north Myrtle down to Murrells to charge us a fee for eating there as a tourist.

We chose the outdoor seating, and it was absolutely worth it. Overlooking the inlet, we enjoyed a peaceful view of small boats drifting by--one of those simple moments that makes a meal feel like a mini getaway. I went with the crab cake sandwich and fries, while Helen ordered the Cuban with tater tots. As someone from Virginia, I'm usually cautious with crab cakes--too often they're all filler and no flavor--but this one was refreshingly light, packed with crab, and genuinely delicious. One of the best surprises? The hush puppies. We had heard great things but didn't see them on the menu--turns out, they bring them out complimentary when you're seated. And yes, they absolutely live up to the hype. The staff added to the experience with their friendly, welcoming attitude, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. There are plenty of places we still want to try in the area, but this one has already earned a return visit.

We discovered Wicked Tuna during our annual Myrtle Beach trip from North Carolina, and it impressed…read moreus so much that we had to go back a second time during the same visit. The peel and eat shrimp was the reason we returned. Instead of the typical boiled flavor you find at most places, this tasted almost broiled, giving it a richer flavor that immediately stood out. It was absolutely phenomenal and easily the star of the meal. On our first visit, my boyfriend had the fish and chips and I ordered the catch of the day sandwich, both very good and well prepared. The view is beautiful, there is shaded outdoor seating, and the service was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Because we enjoyed it so much, we came back again and started with the peel and eat shrimp once more. We also shared the wedge salad, which we had ordered the first time as well. It was fresh, crisp, and the blue cheese was excellent. We added the oysters Rockefeller and the tuna pizza, both packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. To finish, we ordered two sushi rolls, and once again everything was balanced and thoughtfully done. The flavors complemented each other beautifully. Every dish felt carefully prepared, and the overall experience was memorable from start to finish. We were extremely happy with both visits and will absolutely return next year.

Good amount of open space. Outside deck seating. Nice bar area. 2. FOOD/DRIINKS = 2 We had clamira, wedge salad, Seafood plates. One beer IPA. The veggie selection was not appetizing in appearance. The fish selection was good but nothing special. The 2 was the result of the veggie selection looked burnt overcooked. If this had not been the case it would have been a 3. Next time I would request to have it returned and do without. Mash potatoes were good. 3. SERVICE = 5 Our waitress was attentive and engaging. The food came quickly and was a good temperature. 4. BATHROOM = 3 Clean and maintained. 5. PRICING = 2 The appetizer $16. Salad $16. Meals $42. Beer 20oz $11. Tax is 10%. Plus tip. $169 for 2 people. I would recommend to drop appetizer by $4 and wedge salad to $12. Beer how can a 20oz cost $11.00 for Sweetwater 420. With the push to get wait staff to $15 per hour. Someplace has to give and it will come in the tip area. So think of this it 10% for taxes and 20% for tip. I do not tip on full bill. Only food and beverage without taxes. That is a lift to see 30% for a couple of hour dining experience. If more alcohol from wine to mix drink it would be expensive. 6. OBSERVATION With some Does not meet expectations for food and price. The environment ok. I think at least for the team that took care of us made a difference. I would probably not choose to eat here again as there are a number of options in the area to choose from. The parking was good. Need to get your parking pass signed off by resteraunt. It is free. If not the parking value is $30.00. 7.
